Is there a specific folklore that you believe in? Or that intrigues you? Does it play a part in your beliefs now?
Anything that pertains to your heritage?
Out of the many nationalities that are within my heritage, the ones that stick out the most for me, are those from my Germanic and Norwegian roots.
The forming of the Norse worlds (9 worlds) and the story of how Odin obtained the knowledge of the Runes.
What about you?
Even though I have no Finnish roots, I relate alot to the Finnish folklore and their stories/beliefs. They mostly believe in nature and music plays a huge part in how they've passed their stories down over the ages. I just enjoy it and really feel as if I belong to it.
i take the faerie very seriously esp as ive encountered them twice.
I take the stories relating to 'vistors from alien worlds' seriously such as the myth of the Anazasi people from south america as we can't be the only lifeforms in the universe, let alone the most advanced.
Well put it this way, if a sun is a star and has planets orbiting it then it is likely that some of the other stars out there have planets orbiting it and perhaps one of the planets has life on it.
I am a big fan of folklore.
Not only are the stories good, some actually begin with obscure..and not so obscure historical evidences during mankind's time here on earth .
I love folklore too...and I'm really intrigued on how many of the tales from various cultures are similar and/or are related.
i love folklore and it never ceases to amaze me but i love vampric folklore and their origins
Folklore had a manner of explaining this in ancient cultures and provided analogies of behaviours
Folklore is very interesting, it's just the imagination you cna have that captures me into it.
I am a proud Roma and to this day I still fear the tales of the Mamioro, so out of fear and respect I use Mamioro as a pen name.
But I also like other Roma have many blood lines so all folklore intrigues me from the evil Slavic forest god Burstuk to the Native folk tales of the skin-walkers.
Like abbney park sang "all the myths are true."
In the South (U.S.) there's a sense that just because people are dead doesn't mean they're not around anymore. I'm only one generation removed from that culture and it's a belief I hold myself.
I enjoyed the native american stories about cannibalism and how it would turn you into a wendigo should you feast on another's flesh. It would make yo extremely hungry and no matter how much you ate, the hunger would never stop.
I'm not Celtic by any means though I often enjoy every aspect of the ancient heritage and am very fascinated about every bit of the cultures folklore.
I have an almost sickening sense of fascination with mythology and folklore.
Almost to the point of obsession. It doesn't matter what it is about or where it hails from- it fascinates me to no end.
Folklore is a topic that is quite similar to religions, fact is all religion is based on folklore. Stories that have been passed down generation after generation, changing and evolving with the times. Isn't it quite interesting that Jesus actually resembles Hercules, so much so that it kind of makes you wonder?
Im from Hungary and before my grandmother died she use to tell us about little people that lives in people garden and sometimes home. they can be silly nice . hide your stuff or mean and cause illness and sometimes very bad luck. if you make them mad they can be very mean. So she use to live sugar cubes outfor then and some cream. also she told us never to pick sunflowers and being then in the house because those little people live their babies in them and can infest your house and cause all kind of bad stuff.
also about krampusz. in hungarian folks klore they are the evil helper to santa. And he drag bad kids away and best them with a golden twig.
I know its sounds crazy.
Not at all, some folklore I saw made people walk over the top water, even move trillions of tons of seas to form a walkway miles wide to help them escape the romans and even come back from the dead after getting wasted on water...which one magick guy could turn to wine, but i think he was pissed as a fart coz he also reckoned if you ate a bit of him or drank his blood you could live forever.

That's quite funny.
I have a great fascination with mythology, superstition and folklore and have done since I could read and write (ish), and I suppose there is a influence in my everyday life in one way or another..good or bad.

Brilliant lol, just brilliant.
i myself also like the Norse mythology and love runes...also have German, Norwegian and Swedish in my family
I love the Celtic folklore. Reminds me of stories from home.
I love folklore stories, my favorite are the Norse, German and Celtic stories
I am German so know a lot about the German folklore but my main interest lies in the Hungarian folklore I have been studying it for a few years now .
There are many interesting story's about Boldogasszony (mother goddess) and there are many myths to explore.
I am Maltese and dont like our folklore that much. It is mostly religion based and I dont like it much. However I like to read about foreign folklore especially superstitions and ghostly legends.
Specifically. Or not really I love all the stories of Durga.
I believe in many Irish superstitions, I've always felt more drawn to the culture of my ancestors than anything. Though I have come to find that some my superstitions were greatly influenced by other peoples of other lands as well.
I explore many different cultures folklore and mythology. I don't believe one is more interesting than another.
