What is it about this fictional character that has brought us together? Why them, and not werewolves, ghosts, daemons, or ghouls? It’s it allure of everlasting life, or the very sexual nature of the beast? Is the pretrial of them in books or movies that drive our wish to emulate these begins?
For me, I like the idea of the potential of power, the older you become the more powerful you become. The sense of family and community the vampire lore has fostered.
Lol I am here cause this site is about vampires.
That doesn't mean I don't like werewolves,ghosts,witchcraft,occult,aliens,etc..
Those who know me can tell you that I talk a lot about paranormal especially ghosts!
I think is a mixture of many things like Immortality, mystery, power over other beings, eternal youth or at least prolonged youth.
there is an aura of sexuality and evil in the vampiric lore...truly enthrally me...
There is the sexuality of the biting and blood, the control over weaker minded individuals, the structure and working together (as an entire race), the physical/mental strengths, and the overall fear of the creature.
im mainly on here coz the site is about vampyres lol
vampyres are sensual, romantic, seductive yet tragic
interested in vampires
also interesed in other supernatural and fictional things
im here because im interested in all of it vampires,lycans,ghosts,ect.....
I have been interested in vampires since I was a child..I think its the whole sensual tragedy of them, the inhuman sexuality, the quest for power, control, and acceptance...in essence, the beautiful darkness of them..
for me it would be the power and the sexuality. I love being out of control and the vampires are always in control, even sexually, and that appeals to me.
i think it is the fact that the ever liveing darkness in all of us and those other creatures to us r not dark anough all though they can be in nature but just not alearing to most of the ppl
Maybe it's about being superior. As vampires feed of humans, they are on top of the food chain. Being a vampire means to be powerful, be in control of the situation. You actually don't have to be afraid anymore. No. Others are afraid of you. You decide who lives or dies. Isn't that something worth yearning for? Archaic human instinct.
simply enough to answer. I love vampires, the idea, the truth and pure perfection of the creatures. I have love since I can remember. And being a member of site like this is like being in a family. I love it.
What I always like about the vampire is that it's an anti-hero with class.. :)
to be honest, wen i first joined i didnt even want to be a part of this site. but my sister, chi (name on here) signed me up anyways. eversince then i have been thanking her. lol. but ya, im just here to make friends and thats about it. plus the site is addicting and its something to do to kill time. lol
i am just fasinated by them in books and movies and such they make these vampires seem so kool and its like hmm i need to know more and then when u look more and more at this stuff ur sucked in and u think wow this is awesome....
They all kinda go hand in hand. Vampires, ghosts, witches.
its a feeling, its in our blood.......
to seek the ultimate person sensual long "life" a bit of horror, persuasive powers and so on.
We are a different kind of evil- Dark yes, but also seductive, but we can show compassion and love for others too. Some of us are completely evil and are of course incapable of these emotions, but the fact that a supposed 'monster' can keep its ways and retain feelings is amazing. The essence of it all, the sensuality of it all is why we vampires are so often characterized. If the werewolf could portray a sensuality about it or the zombie could seem likeable, we'd like them as much as the vampire (no offense to any weres or other forms of being!).
The tragic part about us is that while we are wrapped in fantastic myth (and Hollywood makes us head turning and awe inspiring; watch newer scenes of movies like Undeworld or even Queen of the Damned to see how film makes seem the vampire almost untouchable), we are also stricken with the common weakness of the sun (how the sun factors to each real life vampire differs from vampire to vampire; as some might not feel anything from the sun at all)
just my thoughts.
Everything the mysterious ways to the luring lusts of them. They are intriguing.
yes i agree with the many other people who have said this, vampyres are sexy and evil therefor i love them
i find the subject interesting due to the connection of Enternal Life depending on which version of the Vamp life you choose. The power over others and sheer mystery of it all. Plus I have always had a dark side...regards pharaoh
For me personally vampires hit me in two ways, first their complex living style and basic way of life is just purly extradaniarily intresresting and attractive. the other way just as listed in my profile, Is that i find them just so sexy and slick and sharp. in combination of a fetish of vampires them selves and being biten just drives my mind wildly close to them.
I'm sorry that wasn't a very intelligent answer on my part it's just this question has kind of been asked a few times before.
Vampires are desire personified. Desire for power, desire for life, desire for flesh, ect...
However, they don't necessarily represent family ties. There are those vampires who give their sire the finger and strike off on their own.
we talk about everything here, not just vampires, but the difference is that vampires are like higher beings than us. They are beautiful and powerful. So we are more attracted to them instead of hairy beast or things that just hang around trying to be noticed.
this is a vampire site, im sure if you looked hard enough youl find a werewolf site that the people there are the same as us only with there beast of choice
i like the elagance an romance of the vampire, the powerful sense thay give off
A vampire is a sensual being... when most people read about vampires they become amazed... Werewolves are just Animals that feed for need... killing everything in their path...
it's a lovely myth... that people take too far sometimes. infact... not sometimes... a lot of the time.
this site is a very good example of that :)
i am here because it gives me reasons to talk and listen to others like me
that gives you enough confidence to write or say wht you think or believe
Vampires are mysterious and dark..who cant love them...well yeah thats me talking but i lyk ghouls and such...
well probably what draws us to these amazing creatures is the whole load of attributes given to vampires which make them so enticing...
OK, SO few of you are answering this guys question. He didnt say "why are you on the site" he was asking about the very fascination of vampires compared to other things... at least have the decency to read his opening post.
I think that people with inerests in vampires, have probably got to that point through other things i.e. occult/gothic/witchcraft and other general stereotypes. Therefore, its a bit like a journey through an aspect of life.
However, I won't deny that films glamourise vampirism, and unfortunately people now think that that is what a real vmapire is... Tom Cruise in a wig seducing women.
Films and books are what brought us here, but those who are serious about the subject usually discover how much more there is than what we can percieve, and learn other ideas, and maybe adapt other practices, and certainy not shout about everything like morons.
What brought us together is "vampires".
What sets us apart is a difference in respect for a "lifestyle choice."
Well put Echo, very nice.
For me, it was the forbidden, almost victorian aspect of sexuality that vampires bring.
I've always has a thing for gargoyles, architecture predating the multi-colored trash here in Florida-- oh how I'd love to go to Savannah again!
It's a wisp-ish style that brought me to it-- an immortal soul that even through all this time, still exists in certain flights of fancy.
Beautifully wirtten, and a lovely orgin for your fascination. I agree with you on this one :-)
I think what draws me to them is their appeal and the simple fact that i do like blood... they are beautiful creatures and i just love them...
Yendor said it..as far as movies are concerned.
I identify with the concept of vampire. Not the corpse that raises from the grave, but with the creature that sees beyond, the creature that always wins and always loses in a way, and is cursed with a longing, a lust.
