What's everyone's opinion on this? Should a minor be allowed to participate in bloodletting if they so choose?
I'd like to let the blood out of a fair few minors I've come across, but it would probably be seen as a waste though, since I wouldn't be using the blood for anything...
What, you think it's child abuse, or it is child abuse. If you're talking about the ladder, of course it is. I just wanted everyones viewpoint is all. Regardless if it's legal or not, everyone can still express their views.
"I'd like to let the blood out of a fair few minors I've come across, but it would probably be seen as a waste though, since I wouldn't be using the blood for anything..."
I could say the same as well. lmao
It depends. If they're over 15, I think they could be old enough to make that choice.
If minors wish to do such a thing ...It should be their own deal...Don't inable them or encourage them by doing it with them...
Below 15 id say no and in some cases maybe its abuse.. Over 16 I think your old enough to do your own thing as long as your safe, clean and very carefull about it..
no sorry anybody under the age of 18 is off limits to me. i do not think that they have the or are in the right frame of mind
"Over 16 I think your old enough to do your own thing as long as your safe, clean and very carefull about it.."
What about those under 16 whose maturity level is that of an adult? Can they not make their own decisions?
I personally feel they should be over 16 ....though .......some 12 yr olds i know are more mature then the 20 yr olds i know.......would i condone this no do i condemn it no......if they are responsible and understand what they are doing and aren't endangering their life ......most kids do what they please anyway......i judge no one
This is an interesting subject. Interesting because the majorities viewpoint seem rather hypocritical. Many of us began doing this as minors, and yet we speak now as if they were mere toddlers. I can tell you for a fact that when I was a teen, I knew exactly what I was doing..and so did they. I reckon to say that the majority of you would have been rather pissed off to have heard the same thing from someone else. You can tell them no, but where there is a will there is a way..are no one is more willful(or rebellious) than a teenager.
I myself do not allow them access to anything I do, as I don't need the legal hassles. So, personally I wouldn't get involved with a minor. But I'm not going to say that minors shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the process, as so many of us did. At this point, I simply offer advice. Don't involve yourself, but don't shut them out. If you do, they become part of the problem overall.

It has nothing to do with age...It is each One's own choice...It's not up to any one else...
I agree with Enigma
unfortuanatly the laws do not see it our way
I absolutely refuse to feed from anyone who can't prove to me that they are 18 or older.
Not only is the act illegal because of their ages, most members of the community that I know find it morally reprehensible. It's major No No.
I'm a little split on this issue. I do agree that a mature enough person should be able to do whatever they choose. And I also do think it sucks that society picks a number like a line in the sand and claims everyone on one side to be mature, and everyone on the other side to be immature. However...
At the same time, I've very rarely seen 15 or 16 year olds who possess the same maturity or the capacity to make reasonable decisions as someone who is older. And a part of being that age is the false belief that you just happen to be the exception to that rule. That's what I thought at that age, and while I was mature in certain ways, I was , for the most part, very wrong. Only now do I see this.
I have seen and spoken to some younger people on this site who do seem very mature for their age, so don't think I'm trying to put anyone down here.... but the fact is that genuine maturity comes as a result of a number of things, including: Experience, intelligence, and yes...age. I've seen cases where a 15 year old was highly intelligent and had just enough experience in life to make up for that last factor. So, is it possible someone that age is responsible enough to make such a decision? Sure. Are most people that age the same? Not necessarily.
No. The taunts of 'the crowd' is still too importaint to them. Many would do it out of 'peer pressure' as many I've seen are more into the 'scene' or 'shock value'. Even though the maturity may be there, there are other factors that can cloud their minds more effectively that someone who has past that 'akward' period of their life.
I've seen 13 year olds with the maturity of and sense of a 30 year old, and 2 years later, visiting the doctor to have an unwanted accident removed.
its acceptable..they know whats right from wrong anyway..
True, but knowledge doen't always mean ability to exercise it.
Anything under 16, NO. Otherwise, only if they know for a fact what they are getting into, are educated and it's fully consenting, safe, etc. Preferably not with someone too much older as well.
It's not childsplay. Don't want them thinking it is.
Not just no, but Hell no. A child has no place, wether of the condition or not, in bloodletting. Anyone under the age of 18 who is subjected to a house and offered communion through bloodletting is not only dangerous but against our own laws.
A kid should be brought into a stable structer and mentored, but until the age of 18 they shouldn't be exposed to the full practices of a house or bloodletting.
Last thing we need is some kid who gets invovled in some sort of bloodletting session which usually end up with some sort of sexual manner, and turn the whole thing into a case of rape or diablie. We are trying to be seen as a real function, not something to be laughed at our ridiculed for.
Having minors participate in this adds just that, fuel to the fire.

I know on a personal level, if I were participating in a ritual where there was a minor involved I'd be very uncomfortable.
First off this is a very controversial topic.I personally feel its a big no no for a teenager to be involved in something like this.It is morally reprehensible. I don't care what their level of maturity is.I as a parent or anyone else who might happen to walk in seeing their kid feeding off of blood would consider it an offense more serious then statutory rape and you think vampires look like evil bad ppl to the society we have today ..omg a field day a parent would have if they caught their child feeding off of blood,so I am sorry, but my answer is no child under 18 should be involved in this kind of thing.I'm totally open minded mind you,but even I have morals and ethics I live by everyday.
(writes this while sitting next to her 12 yr old niece) No. Never. Don't do it. There is a reason you can't get tattoo's done before 18....as a teenager you generally cannot comprehend the permanant effects of certain activities. It also takes a lot of research to know where you can cut without causing harm, how much blood the human digestive system can take, and how much blood your system can lose before damage is done. There is also the issue of scarring, which is why I mentioned tattoos - because permanant or long lasting scars can occur, you must be old enough to understand and deal with these consequences. Plus bloodletting, I feel, is even more personal - and dangerous - than sex. Therefore this is not an activity you should partake in at a young age or with any random person you meet.
If they wish to, they should be able to..For it is their desire and there are many that have already done it just to rebell..I would have to say yes, if they wish it...
I think Brother Sin has put it the best way possible.
Under the age of 18 should be off limits. Even if not for the laws but for the morals of the adult
Absolutely not.
If they do bloodletting with a major taht would be like child abuse even if they want to,if they do by themselves I doubt they know what they're doing. They wouldn't be mature enough.
Going off half of what i read here id say bloody well no.
If anyone told my 14 yr old daughter it was her personal choice to participate in bloodletting id knock them out.
It makes me wonder how many of you advocating it actualy do it. Its deeply personal, it can be deeply sexual and it can be potentialy life threatening.
Let the god damn kids be god damn kids for crying out loud.
I as a 37 yr old know that values and ideas change a lot when your younger. Let them live their lives with a touch of innocence before introducing and advocating Adult lifestyles.
Yes i ranted. No i dont care.
I've posted my feelings about this topic. It's quite the contraversial one.One that will be closely monitored,as this site has many minors on it..
I wouldn't want a minor coming in this thread thinking oh cool ppl are ok with it from seeing this thread and seeing a good many saying it is ok to do.
Honestly it's not.Things could happen and go wrong if a minor tried it Those things could have long lasting irreversible effects and consequences to what they did.
Too deep a laceration=maiming/permanent scarring or worse yet, death cause they bleed to death..if you can't live with the consequences of your actions or anothers you allow them to do to you. Then my suggestion is to not do it til you can handle the outcome whatever it may be.Or just don't do it at all PERIOD!
It's genuinely nice to see some parents typing things out as their kids sit next to them about this topic.
Highly personal, and even moreso drinking anyone's blood is something that should not be even TRIED until they're old enough to see they've been a FOOL before.
Very well said Batchyld! And i am also glad to see that attention is paid to this kind of thread. I am sure that this topic will bring some light to a few of them and that is a big achievement.
i think it all depends on the minor not exactly their age. it is a question of how comfortable you are with people of different ages and maturity levels. basically you have to use your own judgement on the matter.
If maturity is the issue then there would be some who would never participate in such acts, even at the ages of 20 +.

To make another point clear it doesnt matter whether the minor is intended to be the donor or the vampire its wrong either way morally and legally.
3. Minors
Some of us feel that the first signs of Awakening start at an early age.
yes in some of us this is true,
But the risk is to great for a misunderstanding.
Under no circumstances allow anyone under 18
to be initiated into a house of any kind, attend Quabals, undertake ordeals,
or gain access to any outer or inner teachings.
No- A minor by definition does not have the capacity to consent to many things, credit, buying a car on credit, in Florida obtaining a tattoo without parental consent(though it is done often)
I think how it should work is that, first off the must be over the age of 14, secondly, they must spend at least a year traveling, following, ect. with their soon to be master, if the master deems them mature enough then a blooding could follow. It gives the minor the experience of what everyday life would be like for them, and the master a chance to figure out if the minor would be perpaired for such things.
traveling with a minor is a definate no-no especially if you cross state lines its a federal offense
Wolvie is right in what he said about crossing state lines and it being a big no-no and everything else he and the ones against it have stated.I'm sorry, but i have 3 kids and if anyone ever suggested that or they themselves came to me and said they wanted to try it I would react much the same way SKY mentioned in her reply.Blood is tainted a good percent of the time .I wouldn't want my kid getting any form of hepatitis or aids or any other permanent or fatal blood borne diseases !
That's just asking for trouble and quite stupid in all honesty to do with a minor whether they want to do it or choose to do it.We as the adults know what is right or wrong for minors.Anyone suggesting this to a minor if the idea wasn't there of their own doing is quite unstable and needs committed in my eyes.
If a minor is to suggest it to an adult it is the adults responsibility to explain the pros and cons and the moral rights and wrong of it .That way the minor was explained all and if he or she chooses to go that road they know what might befall them..To me its a big no no all the way around! Some adults don't even take neccessary precaution and we are going to let minors go experimenting ? It's bad enough we got minors having sex and contracting diseases from sexual contact or ending up pregnant. Oh wow did I just rant, but I HOPE I got my point across why i'm so negatively imposed to this topic!
This discussion bases its argument on the main factor of age. But how is too young? I've met young teenages of the ages 13-14 that were more mature than people my age at 20. Who are we to decide to deny them? If you feel at that exact moment, not behind a computer, that they are ready, then they are ready.
Oh well okay you 3 did put up a good point that I did not exactally think of or consider, I retract my statement, anyways I haven't been looking for the whole blooding thing, I think it would be a bad idea for me personally, but idk for others.
If the bloodletting is in a sexual situation..or sensual..which alot of bloodletting is... then the persons involved should be of legal age of consent in their state to avoid prosecution from..oh..say angry parents that find out
This is definately not a good idea for a hell of a number of reasons! First I wouldn't do anything involving a minor and bodily fluids. My god if you would get caught do you know what kind of trouble you could get into? Or if their parents discover what they are doing? I know how most minors were when I was wrong and the minute we got caught doing anything our parents didn't want we immediately pointed the finger. It was either so and so made me do it or talked me into it. It just is not a good idea.
Also I think that anyone on here that is older can probably tell you that when we were that age we didn't know what we wanted for sure. The young mind is very niave and emotional and they could easily think that something is cool one minute and then the next minute you hurt them on purpose...
whisper's got it... How many teenage girls go out with an older guy and do something they regreat and as soon as they decide they are embarassed or ashamed of what happened all of a sudden they didn't want to, or they were forced. It's hard enough finding an adult that can handel bloodletting in a mature way.
I have mixed feelings about this thread ...
I just take it for granted that most of us understand that the Human Central Nervous System slows it's development down between the ages of 19 to 21 ....
So consider this, ... the impact of one can of beer or a glass of wine is different on my body than it is on a underdeveloped person ....
Ok, now that we all understand this issue ... it is clear that legal drinking ages are not just based on maturity and decision making ability ....
Much much more than a can of beer or a glass of wine ... "Bloodletting" and "Blood Play" are an intimate and primal component of our lifestyle and our culture ...
Despite the well documented dangers of the impact of sharing bodiliy fluids ... the Emotional / Psychologiocal / Spiritual impact that Blood Letting or Blood Play has on each of us is immeasurable ....
Imagine this on an underdeveloped Central Nervous System ...
Why then would maturity even considered a factor ... ??
I would go a step further ... I would not embrace or enage in Blood play with anyone under the age of 21 ....
In most of our folklore and histroy one will find some reference to the fact that it is forbidden to embrace the young ...
My vote would be ... no one under 21!!!
~+~ Lord Rhiakath ~+~
I'm with Lord Rhiakath here.
I feel that 21 is a good age to come into an awakening, vampyric or not. It coincides with the completion of three 7 year cycles of life and is traditionally the point at which a person moves into adulthood.
And thats not to forget that many states have laws up to 21 years for things such as same sex intercourse and alchohol and I feel bloodletting is potentially far more dangerous, with wider reaching consequences than those two.
If someone is that mature at 13-14 then they should also be mature enough to realise the trouble they can get an adult into in that situtation and be mature enough to wait. But I really doubt they are that mature in the first place. They may seem mature in their behavior but that doesnt mean they rationalize things the way an adult does. I say 18 because that is the age of consent in most states. When a minor is involved I would say it is best to be over cautious if you are not sure about the age of consent. In some states they may consider them a minor beyond the age of consent for sex I am not sure. I am pretty sure that in every state you have to be 18 to get a tatoo some may allow earlier ages with written parental consent. I can just see someone saying "mind if I drink your kids blood?". Just try and get written parental consent for that. It is not those of us here per say that have chosen these limits but the government that has been elected by the general public has. The laws are there to protect minors.
