We all know their is a mimium age limit to sign up for Vampire Rave, as far as I am aware it's 13. But can anyone see anywhere a maximum age limit for this?

Surely as long as the person contributes to the site and abides by the rules laid out nothing should matter?

I am 53 years old and do enjoy my time on here, but cerain folk, whom I shall not name, seem to think that I'm older than Henry Ford, whoever he is.

Anyway, please, give me some feedback, should there be a maximum age limit? Or does it not matter?

Of course there shouldn't be a maximum age limit. Sometimes it can be helpful to have the opinions of a more experienced individual.

And Henry Ford was an automobile manufacturer.

Personally, I don't believe there should be a minimum or maximum. However, there are legal issues involved in the matter, and thus would probably be the reason why there is even a minimum age limit.

i can kind of understand there being a minimum, cause of maturaty levals and what not, but who knows if it actually is as big of a deal as it is made out to be....

no you're here for the same reason we all are, to have fun, meet new people and what not. so no, i don't think there should be a 'maximum' limit

I find it discriminative to older people when I get insulted for my age and because I choose to participate in a website I assume designed for the younger generation.

At the end of the day we all get old and then it will be a different story, The tables will turn.

I personally believe that it shouldnt really matter on an age limit, but in saying that l guess there is some rather indepth profiles on the site which l believe probablly arent the best for children.

I am open about accepting all ages. I think it depends on the maturity of the individual. I did not know that under 13 was the limit.

It should make a difference if you are 53 or if you are 153 as long as you are above a certain age (13 or whatever it happens to be here)

Minimum age should be raised higher.. (18) but that's because of the maturity level I've encountered.. (but then again there are some people who are older but act like children) *shrugs* .. but as far as older persons being on here... I don't believe that you should put a maximum age limit...

I fully agree that there has to be an age limit for children, and I use that word in it's broadest sense. For obvious legal reasons alone and the content on this site can be a bit off in profiles.

But my main focus in here is the older generation.

A maximum age for the site is pointless. Too young could be an issue but wisdom and experience is not.

age really shouldnt matter. I understand why there is a minimum... under the age of thirteen cant always handle the mature topics posed on the site, plus all the legal crap of conversing online. But as far as an age maximum that would be total bull. I think that if you have something valid to say and are here for the same reason as the "younger crowd" then who cares. Some of the people on here that are my age (21) have nothing interesting to say sometimes I worry that i dont. but if you love this site for what it is about then you have every right to be here ....

Yes I think it's wrong to judge people by age and I agree with the limit for young people.

But discriminative behaviour is just not right.

The younger age at 13, I believe is a good age. As for older people I don't think there should be an age. For the older you get, you either get wiser, and forgetful. I just saying some older people are cool and interesting.

I belive that if you can read you should be able to be on VR ^_^

Though I must admit I wasn't always comfortable with people under the age of 18 wandering around under VR accounts and/or starting to hit on older folks.

Of course that was back when I first got started here, right now I don't even bother to worry about it.

Age is a hard question to about. I think that the minimum age is at a good place at 13. The maximum age shouldn't really matter as long as the person helps with the page and contributes to the site...

I believe that if the individual is contributing to the site and/or the resources, age shouldn't matter because let's think for a moment, if you had the access to what we have today, would you have used it and was your age holding you back from that knowledge?

i dont think age really matters as long as people are not fake or posers. I do tho think that the minimum age should be at least 16 because 13 year olds know next to nothing about the vampire customs and beliefs.

As for the younger teens not knowing anything about vampirism, I've met a couple of teens younger than 16 who knew the condition rather well. For those who don't, I am always willing to teach. That's one of the reasons I'm here.

And as for a maximum age limit, why would you try to stop an older person from joining? You haven't clarified your point.

Age is nothing but a number really. I do think that 13 may be a tad on the young side for admittance, but that is just me, lol.

As for a maximum? Why? Why would anyone want that? Unless they do not wish to gleen from the experience of those who have been around longer than they have.

i do think that the age limit is a good thing, all though i do have friends who are 13 and younger i dont really see them interested in this site. and if you do have younger people on this site i dont think they know much about holding information back, most of my friends have xanga sites and they put everything on them, like there phone numbers and personle things that shouldnt be put out online. If you had young people on here who didnt know what might happen if they gave the wrong person some touchy info. then who would be held responsable?

Agreed. BloodRayne, why would you restrict older people...for all we know we could have those that are 60 70 or maybe 80 years old coming through here carrying the same knowledge of vampyrism as some of us of the younger generation do.

I dont believe that someone actually insinuated that you were to old.. thats just not right. I believe people older in years may have more information and wiser thoughts about some issues..We actually talk about Vampires and such being around since the age of time.. And alot of us do admire that thought. We should respect our elders for they have just as much right, if not more, to be on whatever site they want. All I can say is you go boy!!!!!! And by all means enjoy your stay at VR..

I think the concept of a 'maxiumum age limit' would be a ridiculous idea indeed. I can understand a minumum age, and personally I think that age should be higher after reading so many of the posts and profile of these younger 'contributors'.

Next time one of practically preteen punks tells you that you should be somewhere else, kindly point out to that they're lucky this site even allows such a youthful audience. Adults have earned their rights to be active here and anywhere else they please..whether they like it or not. But that's just my scope on it.

No there shouldnt be an age maxium... theres a minium becuase of maturity and interest level. I think that the wisdom elder have is very valuable... so yay for you and dont listen to what young people have to say, you have more knowledge!

I don't think there should be an age max. Your age doesn't determine what you believe. If anything age carries wisdom and knowledge. You are never too old to learn and if you feel you have learned everything then you have learned nothing. I have however been impressed by younger participants with maturity and knowledge. So I guess it could go both ways and neither should be discredited.

The minimum age limit should be upped to 16...and there should never be a maximum age limit...especially on a vampire site.

I agree, I think it's a little hilarious that you would be criticized for your age..when one of the most admirable aspects of the vampire of legend and pop culture is it's life span.

Come on now you must be joking when you ask who Henry Ford is? I'm younger than you and I know that answer! :) Batchyld has told you why there is a minimium age limit. No reason to keep the older and intelluctual folk out as long as they are over 13! :)

My thoughts on this as long as this place don't turn into myspace.com and the bad publicity then it's all good to go.

i dont think it matters how old you are, i can understan the minimum age limit thing, but i dont think that it should matter if you are older then others

i do belive there should be a min but a max no because u may be able to give someone advice that no one else can because of the time and way you grew up

Again, as everybody has said, there is no reason why there should be a maximum age. You have just as much to contribute to this site, probably more. I would never put a limit on knowledge.

As long as you do not act to immature or what not for the site i dont think there should be a limit because there are many people that are mature beyond there years

Age is relative...Knowledge is ageless...Most minds have something to offer...Age is not the issue, knowledge and energy are...

Personally...I fell that the vampire forum should be restricted to 18+ only.

But excluding someone with many years of life behind them could be a great loss of knowledge and wisdom.

I think that it's safe to say it's never going to happen however.
