Has anyone ever heard of THE SLENDER MAN,they say even to talk of him can be dangerous, but im skeptical.let me know?
The original versions depict him as not only malevolent, but extremely dangerous. He will do odd things such as removing organs and placing them in bags, impaling targets on trees, and aggressively stalking targets after a period of time.

It is all fiction, it clearly states that it started online. One would have to be beyond naive, and gullible to take any stock in this.
If you ask me it is just a variation of The Boogy Man.
Slender Man was first created from a photoshop contest for the horror genre. It depicted a very tall, slender man with no facial features with limbs growing out from his back like tentacles. He also wears a black suit.
His characteristics are known for him to be extremely violent, from kidnapping children to keeping organs in bags and hanging them from the trees in forests. His methods of hurting others is also the acts of just being near people. He can enter into people's dreams and heads, causing them to become sick, also known as "Slender Sickness"
All of this is fiction, but now because the internet believes anything they're making him "real".
There are already people that think the creature in Sinister is based on a true occurrence.
Then there is The Candy Man, which was just a bastardization of Bloody Mary started as an urban legend in Chicago, mostly because of the movie it propagated.
Ted Bundy
It might have been Bundy’s good looks and charm that helped lure his victims into positions of vulnerability. He confessed to roughly 37 murders by the time of his 1989 execution, but criminal justice experts estimate that he committed several more, possibly 100's. The victims were strangled and mutilated, and he slept with their corpses until they became unbearably decayed. But that didn’t deter thousands of women from sending him letters of adoration while he was in prison.
Maybe Ted helped create this fictional being by his disturbing activities.
This was part of the Let's Make A Monster thread (on 4chan I think), which is also where the Rake originated from. Supposedly people have been legitimately seeing him, so maybe the inspiration came from somewhere a little more real.
Or maybe people will see whatever they expect to see.
Or maybe believing he's real has made him into a construct.
99.9% of that stuff is delusional self-fulfilling prophecy.
Which the slender man falls under, in my humble, opinion.
If the other .1 percent didn't exist, I wouldn't be here.
Make of that what you will.
Well friend, if you don't mind me saying so, why don't you tell us if there's something you'd like us to know?
Slender Man is right up there with the Top Hat man...have any of you heard or read about the Top hat man??
From what I gathered, the legend is that the top hat man manifests himself to children in the hopes of stealing their souls.
I think these stories were just stories told like the Bogey man and sleep tight don't let the bedbugs bite type things, it was to scare us poor children out of our wits.
I grew up with Max and Moritz and StruwwelPeter. My mother is from Germany. Max, Moritz, and Peter were very naughty and some of the things that were done were very horrible. These stories would scare me as did the stories of the top hat man.
Wouldn't the top hat man be a Loa, or is that a pigeon connection.
I had to look up what a Loa is, it's part of Vodou and I'm not too familiar with that but you know it possibly could be tied in with that.
Slender Man is not even scary. Its a drawing that turned into a game .
Is just another creature of the night, that people use , to tell stories to their kids before bed time. There is no solid prof of the existence of such of creature. Is more like Big foot.
I think someone is a Supernatural fan. It was a good episode.
I cant remember where I came across him, but it may have been here and I read up on him. It was back in 2013 and I think this is when I had my first lucid dream.
I was dreaming we were in the price chopper parking lot, my ex room mate, me and my dad. It was winter time and I could feel my big winter coat around me. And well it was odd because it was mid afternoon but the strange thing was the parking lot was empty. And as we were heading to the enterence The Slender Man appeared and the whole parking lot everything faded. I then woke myself up.
I guess that was me and my active imagination :)
A fine example of how letting the lines between fiction, and reality blur.

lol. Slenderman is an internet urban legend. But its a pretty entertaining one at that!
From songs, to indie horror movies, to blogs, Slenderman has made its appearance known.
As for that recent stabbing involving those girls, I think that's damn shame. I'm glad that the victim survived. Some friends those two were. They definitely gonna get tried as adults.
Sadly the parents lifestyle is being scrutinized because they are into the macabre. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole "We did it for the Slender Man." story was retracted, if it did then I have to ask, as the site admin from Creepypasta did in his disclaimer/condolence writ what material exactly did they get their hands on. Since their site is not the whole of the fan fiction that expands on the character.
I had never herd of him till this thread and not the tragedy of those two girls. I read the news articles how the girls wanted to take the girls body where he lived as a show of wanting his approval and his response to the what happen... how he created the character and it is purely fictional. These two girls crossed fantasy to reality and I hope they get the help they need... at that age they were to believe he was real imo I believe they need a mental hospital long term and not jail.
I will be following this case. Indeed one girl is getting a mental health flag. So the question becomes, if one was mental, then how did that initiate the other into going along? Isn't it strange how one disturbed person can draw other impressionable people into their delusions? I still suspect there may be an underlying motive as to why her. Perhaps a perceived slight to one, or both of the perpetrators.
I never heard of him either, but maybe it's because I'm not American, even though actually he's an internet invention. Anyway, slender-man, and other myths, and fictional night creatures to scare kids exist anywhere, even where I live.
And as usual every time a crime like the Wisconsin one happens, especially if minors are involved, people always have to blame the media or metal music, or the love of horror, or video games.
In Italy there have been a few homicides, because some teens wanted to sacrifice victims for Satan.
In reality it's all a case of mentally unstable people.
Well stated DNG, all the blaming has got to stop, or society will never decode what actually send someone along the path to premeditating murder. There is way more involved then her just being enamored with a character. There had to be something already existing that was complementary to her discovery of the character. I have been looking at some of the expansion fan stories, and I have yet to dig up any examples of instructive stories as to how to become a proxie/agent of slenderman.
I had never heard of it until I listened to an episode of Coast to Coast AM (which I used to listen to every night). I fully accept the possibility that there are "paranormal/supernatural" things out there, and the people talking about it seemed pretty sincere.
However, as others have noted, the Slender Man is nothing but a fiction.
It was created by Eric Knudsen on June 10, 2009 on the Something Awful forum. The name "Slender Man" is actually copyrighted (Jan. 2010) and he has even sued, successfully, people who sought to turn it into a profit making scheme (books, websites, movies, drawings, etc.)

I first heard the name on the TV show SuperNatural. Even they pointed out it was fake, someone made it up.
As far as the girls attacking the one- you can try your best to say they was confussed, mental.
But really? They plan this for months, took turns using the knife. Evil is evil and I hope they spend the rest of the days they have in jail.
I agree with Vampirewitch39 post. He is fake, a character created from a guys imagination. These girls are evil. We can debate till next year about why they did it, what in there lives made them do this. I think that is our need to want to believe these young girls have some mental disorder, or they were abused kids when the answer is right in front of us. That there is an answer for what they did when the answer is just as simple as some people are just evil.
I hadn't heard of Slender Man until the news story of the two little girls was plastered everywhere. I don't think he is harmful, he is a fictional character written into folklore.
