Yeah, still not done talking here! So here is the last post from the old thread which as it would happen, is from me.

~Okay, I'm kind of hoping the new angry goths will perhaps mellow out a bit. but at the same time, I don't want them to! It's essential they psh the envelope, make sure they are heard! That's just part of being in the generation! Raise voices and make demands.

I can't help but think about what the old school OLD school goths said about the generation before me. You just have to look at how a society evolves. The old generation complains and cries we're doomed we're doomed and the new generation blasts a path for future generations. it's a paridigm shift, and this is the point of chaos. We bitch and complain, and in say five years, everything will be new and yeah, it will be different. But are we fucked? Most certainly not!

I completely agree with you Lyssa. And getting people to realize that it's not just them and their own little belief of what's right and wrong...that there's a lot more out there and that most of them know more than the older ones. But the young ones also should listen to the older ones if we want to try and avoid historical repeats...even though no one seems to pay attention to those.

Guess what...the ones who are older than us, still say that even though we aren't teenagers anymore, lol. And every generation will say that about the ones that are younger...to a point. Though I've met a few teenagers on here that are a whole lot better to deal with than most of the adults that I know in person.

You don't have to be antagonistic though... Ghandi wasn't. Martin Luther King Jr wasn't. It can be hard as all hell, but it gets the idea across MUCH faster than getting in people's faces about it.

K the way I think about it, is that there will always be differences between the generations , we will forever evolve, hopefuly for the better.

I will have to agree with my sister Hot she has a point that we are always growing and evolving. We have come along away and must teach our children the ways for things to be practiced and mastered years to come.

Yeah well, if we're going down, I say we don't go down without a fight! So new generation, go out have fun, and kill TV's! So long as they aren't other goths TVs... That's the impression I'm getting here.

Of course if they do not mellow with age there is plenty of room in the state prison system. Perhaps a a few years rooming with "Bubba" will sort them out

I beleive that the world is spiraling downward, I beleive that its a combination of old beleifs and habits that are hard to kill, I beleive its because the people will not stand against their governments and their leaders demanding things get straightend out. No the worlds not doomed, although it may look like it. As it was said before we evolve and we develop but we shouldint forget the old ways but learn about them and improve upon them as well as present and take in newer ideas, I dont think its any generations fault, although its true the younger generation is getting a bit as said before "big for their socks"

Learn from each other and dont back down, a countery cannot ignore its people. It may take time, were on our way to the point of no return but were not quite there yet.

I'm sure there's a great deal of folks out there who are just playing or still figuring out who they are. I tend to look upon the youth in subcultures as running a bit of a gauntlet wherein they should expect some haranguing from the older folks within it but as you grow and learn where you want to be, you either learn to stand up for yourself in a way that gains respect or move on. In a way it's a form of separating those who are just playing from those with a deeper sense of attachment to a culture/sub culture. Separating the wheat from the chafe and all that.

Obviously someone who's 14 and telling me they're going to destroy the world or kill everyone, isn't going to get much reaction from me beyond a chuckle but with experience will come a better sense of self and a more focused rebellion instead of the blunderbuss methods used by the initiate.

Well, if worse comes to worse comes to worse... the earth will start a new ice age, and human beings will die to the point that we can live off of the earth again.

The earth will heal, our numbers will be shot by several orders of magnitude, but life will continue.

I was Goth back when Goth wasn't cool and everyone laughed and teased the "freak" in the long black skirts with a studded leather choker. There were way few then than now. Those people who teased me in school now borrow money from me. So who has the last laugh?! I love it that so many young people are taking up the Goth style of life and dress. It is a much simpler, free way to live. Do what you want! As long as you hurt no one (that doesn't want to be hurt that is ;)= ) people should be able to do whatever they want whenever they want to.

goth as a life style will never change its the people who choose the life style and how it represents them is what changes and how they dress and live their life style that is how goth has changed over the years
