Why do you think people deny we exsist. I believe they dont want anything they cant control or may fall prey to to exsist
Even on this website people are confused what you mean by vampire - people compare what you are to what they think of a vampire and find they are not the same
So they don't deny that you exist, they say that you do not match what they think of as a vampire
Because some people can not see the woods for the trees, they can be narrowminded to our Kind & see us as demonic.
Whilst at a family wedding in Irland last year, the Priest threw Holy water at my Niece Just because of her gothic clothes...
He Actually said prayer's to her B4 he would start the wedding...PMSL>>>
people will always fear what they do not understand...
I agree but should we try to educate them or shun them in return?
it is from fear..and why bother to educate you food?
grin
Due to the fact that there are thousands of people on here, the style has become popular and really no one else seems to care anymore because it is so overdone....I'd have to say that people don't shun you.
Every time I have encountered a person who claims to be shunned by society or says that no one likes them, it is a product of their own imagination or doing.
Really now, stop and look at it, other than trying to get a job and getting turned away because your hair is a mess or you have 20 piercings you really have nothing to complain about.
Other people around the world suffer far worse fates than simply being "shunned". I think it's time for people to stop being selfish and dramatic and just live their lives. There is a huge community full of support for this type of "lifestyle" what are you complaining about?
I agree that people don't think we match their definition of vampire, but I feel there are some other things to take into consideration...
I'm not the originator of this statement and I am only paraphrasing it. I do not remember if it came from VR or Yahoo, so bare with me...
We live in a world/time where everything must be backed up with scientific proof. When I say that I am energy deficient, where's my proof? Well, I have symptoms and my doctor and I have ruled out just about every known medical cause (a girl only has so much money and at times doesn't have insurance) but that doesn't mean the average joe is going to buy my story. I'm capable of gathering the energy I need to live a functioning life from external sources. I know this because I do this. Again, where's my proof.
Most feedings don't involve something you can track...where do you prove they're working?
I don't know that anyone will ever believe we "exist". I don't know that I care. I'm not looking for a cure. Are you?
tis the same reason that most wiccans are not publicly known... fear of persecution and misunderstanding...
Nearly all people shun what they dont understand, they live in their own lil world & if something doesnt exist in their world, it doesnt exist at all...like some people dont believe angels, demons, hell, heaven exist, but you here stories about an angel appearing to someone or In the case of Anneliese Michel...she WAS possed by demons...and so on...!!
People don't agree with things that they don't understand most of the time, especially when they have a locked mind set about things.
that's a real good question, people i've noticed are just scared
For they fear what they don't understand. so they shun us.
I find that more people are curious and intrigued by me than anything, but that has nothing to do with vampirism it's because of the way I choose to dress.
I don't go around telling everyone a pass "Oh by the way I am a vampire" In fact, I think that the only people that know this are VR members. I just don't feel the need to tell people, but I am a very introverted person when it comes to the outside world...
Maybe I don't tell people out of fear, but I think it is more that I don't feel the need to explain myself to anyone.
Whenever I go out in public I spend the majority of the time answering peoples silly questions about my boots ( I have even had someone measure their heels before). So I could only imagine their reaction to me being a vampire I wouldn't be able to accomplish anything I left the house to do (i.e. pay bill, buy food) because I would be stuck in conversation upon conversation...
I am sure some would give me dirty looks but that is not anything I am not already use to.
I remember being the only child in my class with red hair. Kids can be cruel and I was harassed from my first day of school until my last.
People will find a million reasons not to like you.
People are afraid of what they don't understand and they feel the need to defend themselves.
I was vegan for a year and the reactions you get are crazy and annoying. People feel they need to belittle you, in some sadistic way this makes them feel better about themselves.
Honestly I don't find vampirism to be strange or far fetched...
We do have a great community here with people who can relate and support us, if needed, I couldn't possibly want anything more.
My son and i walk thru the mall and the sea of ppl part..its funny. Kids will look at us and smile..parents then pull them next to them or turn them away from us.. so its fearing something outside their "norm" thank the gods..I'd hate to be included in the mundane. ick
I think being "shunned"only becomes a problem when you dwell on it.
Just think of yourself as being a unique individual. Most are just envious that you are not afraid to explore and be yourself.
Ah I know all about people parting like the red sea.. :) It is more entertaining than anything...
The only thing that might bother me is if someone was so bothered by the way I am as to actually feel the need to physically harm me. (which has happened and is very scary)
They just don't like what they are not...they fear that which is different then what they see as "normal"....I say fear the normalcy of the world.
ok, as i have said before i do not class myself as a vampire. I do not know much about vampires, I have not met or seen a vampire. This is not saying I dont believe that they exist, Its just that i have never seen such an excistence.
I dont think people are shunning you, I just dont think that its in their mind to care as they have never experienced someone of that nature.
I think people who come on this site and stay on this site who are not vampires , stay to learn about your being, as i do.
I love this site and i love the people on it. Everyone is different here and I learn more about different people everytime i log onto this site.
Ignore the people who seem to shun you its just because they are narrow minded and dont want to believe in such an existence. Some people dont like people who are different to themselves, It scares them.
We all kind a have a different defenition of what we see as a vampire and we all define ourselves differently so poeple who do not fit within those guidelines most of the time do not fit in the guidelines of the "stereotype" of the poele who do not beleive or see vampires as a possibility of existng.
This is very similar to the thread I presented yesterday, but I will not discuss the reason why that was deleted. I think that this goes back to the stereotypes that are associated with our kind. I think that people shun what they do not know or understand, it makes it easier for them to disbelieve than to question the way the world works.
because people are jealous that they don't have the balls to be different. instead they have to be just normal .
1. The idea that a predator exsists for humans... the top of the food chain? It's disterbing...
2. People like to believe in things they can see and prove. It's hard to prove a vampire is real, all of us have been to a Doctor's office and not been found out... so why believe?
3. For some vampirism is a state of mind... state's of mind are impossible to prove... only he within it truly understands.
its because of all the hollywood movies and horror flicks that our kind is put down a lot.
Archangel - It's not a question of shunning, it's a question of confusion. How am I to treat you when you have yet to decide what you yourself are. You have stated that you're the leader of the Clan of the Angels of Darkness - a warrior forever locked in battle - a samurai of darkness, you have said that you believe your kind might be a fallen angel in another thread - descendants of the Angel of Death. I won't suggest that you need my approval to believe what you wish, but this goes far beyond a metaphysical difference among basically human beings and would make talking about it a challenge. Your own definition would make it difficult for even other living vampires to accept your belief as the truth. We're not shunning you, we're waiting for you to decide what you are.
We are shun by society because what they can not understand our way and they do not want us around. And fear has a big part in it. They do not understand that Movies are not a great representation of us. They do not see us for who we really are. So tell people that we are crazy and the we do not exist.
it could be as simple as human ego. we are told that humans are the top of the food chain, for somthing to consider humans as prey goes against the basic consept of human superiority
People are always afraid of things that they don't understand. I think some people in life would abuse the appelation of vampire or give it a bad name just by association.
they are just ignorant and closed minded. i just say fuck em it is there problem and their loss if they shun me away i am still going to be me regardless of what anyone thinks
I personally find that I am not shunned people accept me on a number of levels they don't care what I wear they dont care that I am a psy-vamp.
I am part of a larger community in that I am also gay. We can all get along if you feel shunned perhaps this is due to your own values. That your fear of being shunned is making this so?
Spoilers, lol
I have to object to the idea of mundanes being food, lol. They are not. They are one means of siphoning energy. Whether you gather bodily fluids and it doesn't have to be blood *grins*. It is just a means to an end. NO one goes around killing people except psychopaths or Vampires in novels.
More take energy from other sources than those two ways. There are a myriad of ways to get energy and various types. It's from what I can see a mindset for some and a preference for others. As for Archangel, trust me if you have never heard anything remotely like that belief you have not been in the mainstream community for long or limited.
As for dress and piercings and tattoes, that is a modern affectation of the younger culture with the intermingling of the Goths with the vamps and fetish some of whom are both but most don't dress this way. Especially if they are over 50. OR they may dress for functions like the one Sebastian has coming up in the East...The Long Black Veil.
It you wish to take on the Gothic look that is fine. It's personal prerogative but don't mix them with being a vampyre because the two have nothing to do with anything more than personal choice.
The definitions here are only those of superstition and mythology. They have no connection to living vampyres in the vampyre community. This is such a peeve for me. Tell me who can measure the soul scientifically or that they exist?...its all subjective and basically moot.
There is one place one of our Elders shows people on energy transference. Photography that has been taken. Our definition of a living vampire which is what we all are so as not to confuse with fiction is a being BORN with the inability to sustain their own lifeforce energy and must seek out other sources for good health.
This is why many get diagnoses CFIDS when they can't figure out what's wrong. Energy depletion affects vital organs, nervous and immune systems. There is a breakdown and rather the myth of I never get sick it is the other way around. Many, many vampyrics get sick because they cannot maintain proper energy levels.
OH if you want to learn about a very eccentric group go read on the Temple of the Vampire. They have been around for a long time and wrote the Vampire Bible which is ONLY for their group. You may get an eye opener if you never have. Most consider them more of a cult. My 50 cents.
LadyNightDancer - you speak with intelligence and humility. I thank you for you '50 cents' and I would assume that you don't have problems with people 'shunning' you since you seem to carry yourself with confidence and understanding.
My personal guess is that people think of vampires in the "hollywood sterotypical" type instead of the "real world" type
I have always believed in vampires, it was something that I was taught from a young child....
I agree that these days it's alot easier to fit in, goth has become very popular & fast over the past few years. I do think people shun what they don't understand, some aren't being nasty by it, it's just who they are, just like we are who we are.
As it has been said, what people fear they shun or attempt to destroy, rather than to take the time to understand, again a closed mind is the order for the day.
I feel people shun or despize what they do not yet understand.. All we can do is educate there poor shallow minds ..So this is a place to start educating ..
i feel we are shuned because the people who dress all in black and do stuff thats gets on the news or the people who do strange acts and i mean strange for us , i think thats why plus depends on where you are from
I Personally Believe That They Just Fear What They Don't Understand....Theirs Always A "Scientific" Explanation For "Everything".....If We Don't Understand It Or Are Not Able To Control It Then We Shall Shun It And Deny It's Existince
I agree. It has happen through the years, of people not being understood and people fearing them. Or just treating them different because they are different.
as its been said many times above, most fear what they do not understand and it is easier to shun what they fear and or do not understand than to learn about it
they dont truely understand what we are they base it off of what they seen on tv or read in books,
I don't wish to appear totally disrespectful but fear has so very little to do with anyone here being 'shunned' by society...especially being shunned by anyone under the age of 70 (they are now totally exposed to both the alternative scenes, dark philosophies and modern religions/magic). Very few people are afraid of goths, living vampires, modern witches, or even the average teenage/twenty something satanist.
PS...ostracized would be a term more in keeping with modern times and social psychology...'shunned' just sounds RPG.
I think a lot of it is, most just don't want to really understand our culture. It is easier to dismiss a group of people or idea than to embrace it and try to understand it.And too I find, many think us evil or our kind having to do with demons, the devil, black magicks, etc. So once again, I think it's just a lack of education.
I am a bit confused here... what do you mean by "our people"?
As it turns out there are quite a few subcultures on this site as well as many "normal" people.
So in your question do you mean vampires? Werewolves? Goths? Alternative? Wiccan? Emo? Sang? Psy? Druids? Alternative lifestylers?
Nocturnis, I would agree that it's a combination of not understanding and being too lazy to want to try combined with a sense of elitism that goes in most 'majorities'. Get a large group of people together and they will instantly try to find things about their group that are better or more worthy than groups outside their own.
A study was done in which people were randomly divided into two groups. The average person from each group described their own group in a more positive light than the group they were not a part of. Regardless of who was in their group or which one may have actually been more adept at any given task, people want to feel like their in the good group and anyone outside their circle is of less value.
Fear of not knowing. Some of us do not fall in societies norm. We care about makes us feel good and are not afraid to be ourselves. While others shun from their true nature.
they know that they cannot defeat us so they live by the theory "what you cant see cant hurt you" if they convince themselves we're not real we are not a threat.
I believe Personally that people are scared of change, they only believe in what they can see, feel, touch, and smell... If a clairvoyant can speak with the dead and other people can't does this mark him/her as a con? I don't believe so, because some poeple cannot grasp the concept of something else does not mean it is not real.
Just as Vampires, How many people have seen one? A real Vampire? For those who have not, does this render them fiction? In my books not really, I believe there is more to this mortal coil than what we see, hear, feel etc etc!!
For me, I would think that people shun vampires, because mainly they fear what they do not understand. Humans tend to strike out at things they connot fathom nor comprehend. A second reason is that through ignorance they rely on more superstition and word of mouth from other ignoramouses who collectively then believe that vampires are ALL evil and must be destroyed. (Sounds like the Salem Witch Trials, to me.) If they would just open their minds and hearts they would see that vampires, for the most part are NOT a danger or threat. Monkey see, monkey do, I guess!
Interesting article Felix...
I think it can go beyond just believing that your own group is better.
It is amazing also how individuals of any and every group believe (rightfully or wrongfully) that they are being discriminated against. We live in a society where white men can claim that they are persecuted along with the ancestors of slavery and concentration camps.
Our society is quick to lay blame on being hated or shunned because of our hair, our looks, our ideaologies etc.
My question is why do we want to sit here and complain about it. Every single group as pointed out in Felix's article believes themselves to be better than the other groups.
Instead why not spend the energy trying to have positive affects on people that will change how they might view whatever subculture we might fit into?
To be honest about it, people like that are probably just scared to death and maybe even envious that they can't be like "our kind"
personaly i do not hide what i am i am proud of it and it all depends on wher you live as to whether you are shunned or not but for persons that sneers at me another invites home for dinner to meet the parents hehehehe

I don't think any mature adult cares to mimic someone else. Sounds pretty elementary to me.
In reference to the issues I stated in my last post to this thread- Not once did I ever consider changing due to being considered 'uncool' or not fitting in to a mold people have hoped or assumed they'd find in me. It's far cooler to maintain your identity.
with out your identity you are nothing your worse than nothing you are sheeple bah bah
Arrogance I do believe. Or they are just too narrow minded. Meh, Im no expert.
Personaly I think its because of some random person comeing along a long time ago saying that If your not like me your not good enough, and that person was the mear essence of surburbia (sp?). But i also belive because we as a people have led them to believeing that we are to dangerous due to hollywood and other such things.
But then again why shouldnt they fear us?? they are just food to most, personaly i ask first. BUt i dont think that matters.
people fear us due to their immaturity to begin with..secondly they fear that which they do not understand therefore since they dont understand our decisions on life or the way we handle certain situations they tend to fear us and act as though we are outcasts...i feel that we should either kick their asses(as i do) or just wait until their ignorance gets them all killed then stand over there fucking graves and watch their corpses rot as we laugh in unison
I believe people shun us because the have no idea what we really are. They see us as stereotypes from movies and books. They do not wish to take the time to educate themselves on our ways. They fear that we will prey on them. Maybe we will. *grins*
Basically how i see things, their afraid of what they dont understand, to them were as unpredictable as any choatic shooter, that if they cant control us were nothing but to be feared by all.
Acknowledging us is hard enough for them.
People shun vampires because they are conditioned to. It is not a righteous thing to be a vampire because it is thought vampires are forever damned, spawns of satan. what I've stated is well known by all vamps.
People in general fear ANYTHING they do not understand. There are many examples of this throughout written history.

You know MrdrAndKaosSaysDestin... not only does that sound immature- but insane and what some ignorant people view the gothic community as. It would be an attitude like the one you just displayed that would be the utlimate answer to the question of this thread.
I agree with you. People are scared about what they dont know or dont understand.
mixed or differant beleifs, fear , denial , the inability to uderstand , the media , the lack of proof that fits their idea of vampirism etc.
The same reason as people shun anyone, they don't have time to make an effort to understand someone different to themselves and equate different to bad to wrong. It's usually the fault of their belief systems, be that learned, decided or ingrained but you will find every minority group in our society thinks this way. I would imagine there are a fair number of people here who are intolerant of other cultures and shun them too.
It's human nature to fear the unexplained or what they don't understand.
Its something their influenced into basically, people who shun our kind are the ones why play by others rules, going along as mindless sheep, never wondering what else is out there.
It's because we're different. Anything different is bad. Change is bad. Therefore, we are bad. WE are the evil beings. WE are the ones without morals who kill for no reason what so ever. We are the monsters that'll eat their children in the night. We are not like them so we are the ones who should be killed off. We are too different AND we have minds of our own. They know they can't control us. That scares them even more. I don't pay them any mind. I have found some very openminded people about it. And so long as I don't bite, they don't care what I do. I even make jokes about biting or actually pretend I'm going to and you know what? My friends don't even flinch. It's just close minded people forcing their ideas on everyone else in order to get their way and have everyone conform..... oh wait.. sounds a lot like religion... lol... I wonder why. Ever notice that it's really only those that are religious that fear and hate us?
people have such diffrent ideas of that we are and we all have adapted to where we are and changed.... and some people just are so closed minded that believe something more then what they think they "know" would be to much for them. Hollywood has turned being anything "diffrent" into being something bad or stupid.... when hollywood started making movies about us they turned us into a joke almost because peple don't realize that we where around long befor the movies.... they just never noticed us and now that they know what to look for they think we are only this way because we want to be like the movie characters.... little do they know we where around so much befor lol where do they think the movies came from
I completely agree with you LizSara. We are not immune to being intolerant of others just because we might fit into a subculture that gets picked on or discriminated against.
It all boils down to tolerance and understanding of each other that hopefuly everyone one day will achieve. Sometimes we're lazy and ignorant or we're so comfortable in our own community that we feel safe enough to leveey insults at other groups and fear no reprecussion.
We should not change who we are for others is a very idealic phrase. But we do it all the time to fit in. On the other hand though, some of us do need to change. Just as it can be bad, it can be good for the soul to mature and recognize that stereotyping is hurtful and misrepresents many no matter what subculture you might fit into.
Hmmm..
Well this is a very interesting thread..and many many good points and ppl's views on what each feel "shunned" means.
I too only have an opinion...and I could like you take a few different spins on this.
Society sees what society wants to see. Anything that is 'different' is looked upon with a raised eyebrow...but what is different? Any personal perception.
I agree that this site is about alot of things..and a place where ppl can come, and speak their mind without perhaps being judged as if they might in a line up at the local Walmart store. It's about freedom of speech in a sense.
You get outta life what you put into it! Most ppl fear the unknown...and for that comes lack of education and knowledge about certain things.
You don't have to be a "vampire, goth, wiccan....." to be shunned by ppl...be over weight, have a mental illness, swear loud in a crowd...for these are all things that I see ppl giving a reaction too.
All it is to me is at that time, that place that moment where someone is...if they do something, look a certain way that stands out then the rest...is up for some kind of comment...something.
People are bored...and they find happiness in commenting or picking on what other ppl find happiness in...
Who cares what ppl think...be yourself...live for you...and to hell with the rest!
I believe that people shun our kind becasue they are afraid of what is different and we are different
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT... its not just us. If we go with the mind set that we are shunned because we are different, perhaps we take on the mentality of shunning others because they are different from ourselves.
i dnt bother what other people think. i bother in what i am comfortable in and give a damn shit what others think about. even if i put extra black eye liner or dark nail polish i get comments.
Ppl like them i walk with my head higher than them. and why bother educate them while they are brain washed. i pitty the new generation because when one is young doesnt care less but if somebody tells them that is not "GOOD" it's pity they grow up with that mentality. and if they intergrate, if they have the courage, they see what they have lost!
Everyone is unique in their own way but from the way they grow up with society and being shunned just for the slightest difference at times it can be quite difficult to stand up strong and be who you want to be.
Its not a easy thing to be different and brave and stand up for what you believe in. A long while ago i thought that playing by the rules and putting all my energy into living up to peoples standards and where did it get me. Lost and confused, its a feeling i never want to feel again, and sometimes i do get confused about my future and whats ahead but I know that though its been a difficult journey, everyone should be able to be themselves. Sure my family asks and makes fun of my clothing or my piercings or tatoos but it doesnt matter because though its taken time they know that no matter what they say im going to do my own thing.
If enduring and standing up for urself I think is the best course. Sure it might be very hard to stand alone but at least you know ur happy doing what makes you happy not succumbing to peoples fears and or whims. Its just like "normal is overrated."
Do what you think is right and if you happen to fall down just gotta learn to pick urself up and learn from ur mistakes. Just make a stand because being trapped in their society just will only end up in desolation.
i respect that every one is different. but dont you hate it when they judge you just by look at what you are wearing? that is racism... what is different from other clothing the ppl wear? you can wear a D&G and yet you are unhappy, while the person next to you cheat clothing and maybe torn and he is the happiest person in the world.
I really wouldn't call it racism...racism has to do with, well, race...
I'd call it prejudice. It is something that people just do, we judge things how we see them. Sometimes we're wrong, and sometimes we're right.
People wouldn't be prejudice if they hadn't discovered a pattern in others. Some people are just fake, and they are irritating. Some other people just take that to the extreme and assume things about others.
Indeed having to deal with the things that people try to throw at us to put us down and show us up in our best efforts.
I hate that also, makes life all the more difficult to bear as it is. I loathe anyone thats not open to possibilities and uniqness.
of course people will shun us. The mind twists and warps to deal with horrors of life. As this becomes more apparent the person will see their world as static unchanging safe. In this the person will only look toward familiar things while overlooking all else. They do this to covet their feeling of home their "happy place" if you will. So when they see us, and "us" being so devoid of their familiar characteristics, at best they will turn away and they try to forget what they have seen. Others will curse us and mock us for why should we exist if we do not fit in in their "world". We become like speed bumps in their road of life. When we travel in groups have you not seen how they become less stable. Well why not if they cannot see above media-induced stereotypes. To them its as if hell itself has opened up in front of them. Why do they shun us because we are not them. Do not hate them for it or you might turn out hating people for the same reason that they hate you. If anything pity them for becoming a media slave and if you can try to enlighten them. They may shun us but that doesn't mean we have to shun them.
Who are 'they' and if we call them that does it make us just as prejudiced as 'they' are?
We had a small debate about this at work but not so much as being shunned. It was more of "why people don't really fear these thing as vampires and witches. On this part of the globe when you say someone is a witch or some similar being, they laugh. People are brought up seeing these things in movies and TV and are always taught by their folks that these things do not exist, therefore if they see something of this nature they treat it as such. Telling them you're a vamp just makes them look at you weird. Ignorants
Might Have To Do With The Lack Of Understanding...But Then Again, They Don't Try To Understand It Either
Going back to the question posed... why do people believe that vampires do not exist...
Because there is not scientific proof that the mythological hollywood vampire is real. You might have a better chance explaining away modern day... but once again the proof problem comes into play. Could sang vampires survive without blood? Or psy's without people to draw energy from? I cant conclusively say one way or the other and I cannot imagine that there has been a study done where a sang was locked up and denied blood and perished because of it. Similiarily with the psy.
If anyone knows of a scientific study done, please share it :)
i dont know bout scientific proof but there is an auther that explains in great detail different types of vampires of the past and present the book is called what else vampires and its by konsantinos read and enjoy
Do you find that book in the fiction or nonfiction section?
i agree with artic....humans are scared and frightened rabbits.they tend to only see what people put into their heads.
but the truth is we exsist whether they believe in us or not, whether they try as hard as they can to deny us our exsistence.we still are here.
We do it because of fear. We have been taught to fear the unknown
I agree with all of you about the fear of the unknown and peoples comfort zones, if you will. I think it's kind of funny that some are afraid of us, or shun us. Who cares? I sure don't. Life would suck if we had to worry about what everyone thought of us.
Does the same hold true for little leprechauns though? How about Santa Claus? Or the tooth fairy?
What I want to know is where we establish what is real and what is only legend. If we do not have scientific proof, where do we draw the line as to ok we know 100 percent that mythological vampires exist.
How do we know that the modern day vampire is truly really other than by us claiming that we do exist? What exactly makes us modern day vampires? Do we perish if we dont feed? Do we experience physical symptoms because of the lack of energy or blood?
Where do we draw the line on what qualifies as proof for any myth or legend?
i wish i was cool and stayed online, in one spot, doing one thing, for a long frking time. cuz if i dont i cant do everything on this site and be a cool vampire. so i'm not and im gonna have fun with actual physical surroundings! O_o;
People always shun and become suspicious of what they don't know or understand, its shown all throughout history! As long as you accept yourself then that is all that matters.
People are afraid of change. Anything that is not the norm for them, is hard to conceive or acknowledge. People don't want to believe that things that go bump in the night really exist. Since Hollywood has portrayed Vampires to be one thing, that is what they expect.
People will always judge and fear anything they dont understand people can be soo narrow minded and shallow sometime... sometimes i have this feeling its like i wana run away to a place where no one can judge me and just be alone at peace...
People fear what the don't know and don't understand. It's easier to ignore something then acknowledge the existance of something that disrupts their pre-conceptions.
AS KAy said in Men In Black "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."
people shun cause there scared of something different there so cought up in there own world something different and new scares them all i have to say is toughen up
