THE MOST FAMOUS CRYSTAL SKULL
Owned by the Mitchell-Hedges Family:

The most famous and most tested crystal skull in the Americas is the skull previously owned by Frederick Albert Mitchell-Hedges (1882-1959). Mitchell-Hedges lived, in 1951, in 17th century Farley Castle in Berkshire, England. His skull is thought to be over 100,000 years old. This figure (100,000) was given by a Mayan priest, who said that the skull could talk. The Mayan said that it was a healing skull. At first it was thought to have come from Lubaantan, Belize (formerly British Honduras).

Dr. Norman Hammond, of Boston University, studied Lubaantan in the 1970;s and says this arcaeological site was built around 700 A.D. and abandoned near 850 A.D. Hammond says the skull was NOT from Lubaantun but was found by Ann's father. Porfirio Diaz, a former Mexican president owned crystal skulls that were stolen back in 1913-1914 during the Mexican Revolution by Pacho Villa. Pancho Villa's men sold the crystal skull to Mitchell-Hedges. In this era, Mitchell-Hedges was thought to be a spy for the British government. We do know that the British Museum has a skull cataloged as "Aztec Sculpture" 1300-1500 A.D. The British Museum was said to have bought the skull from Tiffanys of New York City in 1898. Some believe it to be a copy of the Mitchell-Hodges skull, possibly made in Germany.

Sotheby's of London sold a skull to Mr. Mitchell-Hedges, in 1944, for 400 English pounds. This skull was said to have come from the collection of Sidney Burney. The story about Anna finding the skull in Lubaantan is now considered incorrect. Many think that her father planted the crystal skulls for her to find as a birthday gift. Anna Mitchell-Hodges was told that her skull represented the head of an ancient Mayan priest.

Upon his death, in 1959, Frederick left his skull to his daughter Anna. Anna lived in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, at last report. Regarding the afroementioned puschase of the skull from Sidney Burney, Anna says that the skull was used as colateral when Mr. Burney, a family friend, loaned her father money. When Burney was ready to sell the skull via Sotheby's of London, her father paid him back and the skull was returned.

The Mitchell-Hedges skull is 12 lbs., flawless and almost totally transparent. Hewlett-Packard did a series of tests on the skull, in the late 1970's, in their Santa Clara, California crystal laboratory. They confirmed that the Mitchell-Hedges skull is pure natural rock crystal.

*****
THE SMITHSONIAN CRYSTAL SKULL:

The Smithsonian skull was given away anonymously. A note stated:

Dear Sir,

This Aztec Crystal skull was purported to be part of the {Mexican President] Porfirio Diaz collection, was purchased in Mexico City in 1960 ... I am offering it to the Smithsonian without consideration. Naturally, I wish to remain anonymous.

The curator advised "Don't look it in the eye - they're cursed."

This was said to be the largest and ugliest crystal skull. It weighed 32 pounds. It is cloudy, not clear as the Mitchell-Hedges' skull. The skull has a smooth finish but its features are crudely executed.

When the Smithsonian National Museum of American History tried to track down the donor, they discovered he was dead. In fact, after he sent the skull to the museum, his lawyer said his client committed suicide. His client bought the skull and his wife died, and his son had a terrible accident that left him brain dead. The man then went bankrupt. This skull reminds us of another rare gem at the Smithsonian, the Hope Diamond, which brought death and bad luck to its owners. The Hope Diamond is also housed in the Smithsonian.

For More About the Hope Diamond: SEE: French Crown Jewels
THE PARIS SKULL:

The Paris skull was donated by Alphonse Pinart in 1878. He said he bought it from Eugene Boban who was selling skulls after Teotihuacan was discovered. Dr. Jane Walsh, a curator at the Smithsonian discovered that this was not the only skull. There was one in Paris, France in the Trocadero Museum. The Paris skull was clear quartz and measured 4.5 inches high and weighed only 6 pounds. The carving style was much like that of the ancient Aztecs and Mixtecs. This skull was drilled from the top of the head down to be placed on a skull rack? It dates from the time before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. The Paris Museum believe its skull is Aztec.

THE JOSE INIQUEZ SKULL:

This skull belonged to an old Mexican named Jose Iniquez, in 1989. He claimed he found the skull in 1942 at an archaeological site in the Yucatan. He said the skull fulfilled all his dreams and desires. He died in 1993 and the whereabouts of his skull is unknown.

THE PARKS SKULL:

This skull is life-size and belongs to Jo Ann Parks of Houston, Texas. Jo Ann and her husband had two children. In 1973, her daughter developed bone cancer and been given three months to live. Norbu Chen gave them the skull in 1980. After Jo Ann had the skull in her home she said she began to dream about the skull. The skull told her to bring it out into the open. Before this it was stored in a closet out of sight. Her skull was said to have come from a Mayan tomb in Guatemala, in 1924. A local shaman gave it away. The skull passed from one to another until it ended up in Jo Ann's home. This skull had healing powers.

Belief in the healing properties of gems has a very long history, as the rituals of medicine men in ancient tribes attest. Crystal healers believe in their power to influence health and well-being of the body. The light reflected off these stones is said to touch on vital nerve points, thus giving our bodies healing energy to boost our own immune systems.

THE SHA NA RA SKULL:

Nick Nocerino, an Italian America found this skull, as he claims, through "psychic archaeology." Apparently, his psychic powers brought him to the clear crystal skull with a slight yellowish tinge. Nick claimed that he was studying a beautiful rose quartz skull, in 1912, in Guatemala. This skull was used by a Mayan priest. It was for sale in California in 1988, but Nick does not known who has it now.

THE AMETHYST SKULL AND THE MARIN SKULL:

Another source says that F. R. "Nick" Nocerino, the founder of the Society of Crystal Skulls International, has studied an amethyst skull, known as the Marin skull. This is a full-size skull weighing about 8 lbs. It has white striations in the violet-colored specimen. This skull was uncovered in the early 1900s in Mexico. It was with a few other Mayan artifacts and was in Japan until recent times. It came to the United States in 1982. It was examined by Hewlett-Packard laboratories. The Marin Skull weighs between 5-6 lbs., and it is currently thought to be in the San Francisco area.

ICHABOD:

Icabod is a cantaloupe-melon sized crystal skull made from chevron amethyst.

THE REDO SKULL:

Norma Redo had a crystal skull which she inherited from her wealthy family. Norma lived in Mexico City. This particular skull was said to have been in the Redo fmily since the 1840's. The Redo skull is smaller than lifesize with a monkeyish face. Tests date it at 1571, it had a relinquary cross that was added to the top of the skull. This cross twisted off. It might have been used as an altar piece in a Catholic Mission?

Spanish Orders of monks such as the Franciscans and Dominicans thought the skull was a powerful symbol. Some paintings of St. Francis show him holding a skull. There is a rumor that a crystal skull might be housed in the Vatican in Rome, Italy.

TIBETIAN SKULL:

This skull was found in Tibet in January 1927 by H.C. Beasley in the magazine Man. It is carved from rock crystal and has ivory eyes and a third eye in between its brows. It has real human teeth and it painted with bronze gilt. This skull is thought to represent the goddess Palden Lhamo, the Hindu counterpart is called Kali, goddess of death.

Palden Llamo was the corpse -devouring goddess.

the 13 crystal skulls..do you believe they have special powers, energies and that certian spirits rest within them?
do you believe that these are just another phenomenon or just a common crystal skull..and why?
waht are your thoughts and or opinions on the subject at hand

o.O I remember doing a thread on these way back in the day when I was all but an Unclean Spirit -tear-

These Crystal Skulls are interesting though. I don't think they have any mystical powers or anything of the sort. However, they are of extra-ordinary design and detail. This is especially so considering their dating to the Mayan Era. I'd say they are no 'common crystal skull' in the least.

Seeing as I was approached by that psychopath last winter when I was living in a hostel in Denver. Well, funny thing is, there was more to him then him trying to kill me, and threatening me to no end.

He walks up to me and says, "There are 13 known skull. You have to make the last one."

I say "Why should I care" his response, "Because you were the one who made the first one." He bugged me, threatened me, and when he dug up dirt on my friends then I listend. This old man, knew things no living man could know about me, unless he was legit. Things I have burried so deep in my psyche that no one till him was able to see and un burry.

He claimed nothing, but he lived as a vampire, taking his "power" as he called from the lives of the people he tortured and murdered. His gifts he developed, his intuition was a surgical tool. If he was right. Then this world is in for some interesting times.

I do have the method that a few years back I had visions of how to craft, and wrote them, memorized it. Waiting to get the means. As it turns out. Im headed more then likely back into cali, into a place where I can make this piece. However I don't bite. This world is screwed enough, on the 24th of December 2012, the world will be forced into an awakening. That is the time that has more on my mind, as I would personally like to be a neutral party to it. No reason to want it one way or another.

But those skulls, the things he mentioned they could do. With details on the mayan rites, he claimed visions of, when he was there, living in his rv in mexico and guatamala for the better part of 12 years. Of course they are scattered. As they should be. You put object in places, places become beacons, beacons become gates. Gates become paths. I care not for what walks those paths.

All I can think of is the EXTREME amount of effort which would have gone into their creation! if they are indead south american in origin then they were made with effectively stoneage technology! Amazing!

In which case they must have had a damn good reason to make them, I'd be stunned if it was purely ornamental!

The natives believed in the paths of power, and with the shift coming on the 12/24/12 when according to the Mayans earth enters Capricorn, or the road to the otherworld. For one Day. Where all living things are exposed to the other side.

In the traditions of the old religions. There are seven gates, one gate for each of the stars of the Big Dipper. But the reason I say there is one missing. Is that in the Mayan culture as well as other religions at that time, it has been made to reference. The Seven main gates, and Seven sub gates, into even lower realms. So if there is a fourteenth skull found or made by some material and evoking into the final gate that functions as both the gate to the supernal, and infernal realms, then we are going to have an interesting time.

If the earth enters the underworld. The skulls radiate what people term negitive energy, are just generators for death currents. Then the skulls will act like beacons calling back the dead. Calling back any soul that would listen. Of course this is my biased view on the subject. But its like a way to say Fk you all who have ruined this world....but thats is at least my biased view point....i should rather think it would be fun to make one. Test the theory and all....

This is the first time I have heard of the skulls.

I think like anything else, they could be a focal point for communication of some sort.

Once again, belief on not would I think affect their working.

Having had a 'good look' at them I have to say I don't find anything beautiful about them.....not something I would care to have on my shelf lol

As for certain things happening on certain dates....heard it all before....time will tell.

all very interesting thoughts and opinions..i have heard that these skulls have been used in secret ceremonies and such individuals have used them to try to contact extra terestrial life forms..which i find to be a bit interesting.i do believe that they have some purpose of power and can emit certain kinds of energy..it is said that each of the 13 holds a different power and spirit within the skulls, hmm maybe the culture of atlantis had something to do with them or so i have read,i think it is possible that they were altar pieces..

i found this to be interesting..

the skull of doom

The most famous crystal skull is the Mitchell-Hedges "skull of doom," allegedly discovered by a 17-year old Anna Mitchell-Hedges in 1924 or 1927 while accompanying her adoptive father on an excavation of the ancient Mayan city of Lubaantun in Belize, where the elder Mitchell-Hedges believed he would find the ruins of Atlantis. The evidence collected by Joe Nickell proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Mitchell-Hedges bought the skull at a Sotheby's sale in 1943 for £400.

This clear quartz skull is about 5.25 inches high and weighs about 11 pounds. It superficially resembles stone skulls made by the Aztecs. The Aztec skulls are stylized, however. The Mitchell-Hedges skull is realistic with a detachable jaw.

Much of the occult and sinister legend surrounding the so-called skull of doom originated with Mitchell-Hedges, who claimed that the

Skull of Doom is made of pure rock crystal and according to scientists it must have taken over 150 years, generation after generation working all the days of their lives, patiently rubbing down with sand an immense block of rock crystal until finally the perfect Skull emerged.

It is at least 3,600 years old and according to legend was used by the High Priest of the Maya when performing esoteric rites. It is said that when he willed death with the help of the skull, death invariably followed. It has been described as the embodiment of all evil (F.A. Mitchell-Hedges).

The age of the object, as well as the other claims made about its making and history, were fabricated by Mitchell-Hughes. The man who owned the piece, Sidney Burney, and those who were on the Lubannatun expedition, denied that Mitchell-Hedges found the skull. Mitchell-Hedges himself never mentioned the skull until just after he bought it in 1943.

Anna has continued the hoax. Even though there is no evidence that she was even at Lubaantun when the discovery was supposedly made, she has maintained that Burney only had the piece on loan from her father until he could pay off a debt he owed Burney. If so, why didn't her father just pay Burney back instead of bidding for the item in an auction? Here is the story told on the "Official Website" of F.A. and Anna Mitchell-Hedges:

In 1943, Mitchell-Hedges got embroiled in another controversy that still rages in some quarters to this day. In times before burglar alarms, it was not unusual to leave valuable items with friends if one was going away for long periods of time.

Mitchell-Hedges did this with a school friend, Sidney Burney, who had always shown an interest in the Crystal Skull. However, in 1943, Burney inexplicably put the Crystal Skull up for auction at Sotheby’s in London.

Mitchell-Hedges learnt of this the day before and was so furious that for a while he was unable to speak. Unable to contact Burney, he arose the next day at 5am and traveled to London to retrieve his property.

Sotheby’s informed him that the vendor was Sidney Burney’s son. When they refused to withdraw it from the sale, Mitchell-Hedges realized the easiest way of regaining his property was to purchase it back. This he did for £400.*

In any case, Anna has received some attention and made a few dollars over the years by putting her skull on display, claiming it came from outer space and was kept in Atlantis before it was brought to Belize.* She is still in possession of the skull, but seems to have tired of the publicity and has retired it from public viewing.

In 1970, Anna let Frank Dorland, a crystal carver, examine her skull. Dorland declared that it is excellent for scrying and it emits sounds and light, depending on the position of the planets. He claimed that the skull originated in Atlantis and was carried around by the Knights Templar during the crusades. He claims they had the skull examined at a Hewlett-Packard lab. D. Trull uncritically reports that the lab found that the skull

had been carved against the natural axis of the crystal. Modern crystal sculptors always take into account the axis, or orientation of the crystal's molecular symmetry, because if they carve "against the grain," the piece is bound to shatter -- even with the use of lasers and other high-tech cutting methods.

To compound the strangeness, HP could find no microscopic scratches on the crystal which would indicate it had been carved with metal instruments. Dorland's best hypothesis for the skull's construction is that it was roughly hewn out with diamonds, and then the detail work was meticulously done with a gentle solution of silicon sand and water. The exhausting job -- assuming it could possibly be done in this way -- would have required man-hours adding up to 300 years to complete.*

Dorland's claims formed the basis of Garvin's book on crystal skulls.

The questionable origin of the Mitchell-Hedges skull has not deterred belief in the skull's mysterious properties. Rather, at least 13 other skulls have mysteriously appeared over the years. Some of these skulls are claimed to have magical origins and healing powers. However, a study of several crystal skulls by the British Museum in 1996 indicates that the only magic involved in the creation of these skulls was in keeping their fraudulent origin a secret. The study concluded that the skulls were made in Germany within the past 150 years. The recent origin explains how they were made with tools unavailable to the ancient Mayans or Aztecs.

Using electron microscopes, the researchers found that two of the skulls possessed straight, perfectly-spaced surface markings, indicating the use of a modern polishing wheel. Genuine ancient objects would show haphazard tiny scratches from the hand-polishing process.*

A similar result occurred in 1992 when the Smithsonian received a crystal skull from an anonymous source who claimed it was an Aztec skull that had been bought in Mexico City in 1960. Research by the Smithsonian concluded that several crystal skulls popular with the New Agers originated with Eugene Boban, a Frenchman of dubious character. Boban dealt in antiques in Mexico City between 1860 and 1880, and seems to have acquired his skulls from a source in Germany. Jane MacLaren Walsh of the Smithsonian concluded that several crystal skulls held in museums were manufactured between 1867 and 1886 ("Crystal Skulls and Other Problems," Smithsonian Institute Press, Washington DC, 1996).

More skullduggery?

Other so-called ancient crystal skulls have had histories as dubious as the Mitchell-Hedges skull. For example, a skull called "Max" was supposedly given to the people of Guatemala by a Tibetan healer. Another pair of skulls, known as the British Skull and the Paris Skull, was allegedly found in Mexico in the late 19th century by mercenaries. They are very similar and one may have been the model for the other. The Paris skull is said to represent Mictlantecuhtli, the Aztec god of the dead. It is not alleged to have any occult powers, however.

The Mayan Skull and the Amethyst Skull were allegedly found in Guatemala early in this century. "Nick" Nocerino claims he met a shaman in 1949 while traveling in Mexico who led him to a Mayan priest who said he was authorized to sell the skulls because the village needed money for food. Nick didn't buy them, but he studied them scientifically and found some startling things such as "its true origin is cloaked in mystery" and it had the power to give him hours of meaningful visions.

"Max" was given to JoAnn and Carl Parks by a Tibetan red hat lama named Norbu Chen. The crystal skull was gifted to him by the Guatemalan shamans in Central America.

JoAnn Parks is still Max's caretaker and lives in Houston Texas. She does do traveling with Max at times. It was in Chappaqua N.Y. that I had the pleasure of meeting them both. About four years ago on a saturday night I met JoAnn, and about 20 other people who also made the trip.

After the intros, we all gather in a large circle with "Max" sitted on a light table in the center of us. We all heard the story about his past and how they meet each other. Later, we all had our turns of sitting with him for about 2 minutes each but no taking him off the table. When my turn came, I took a quick look see and then I placed my forehead on his.

I relaxed and let whatever happen, happen. Shit and unexpected things always happen to me (like winning unexpected awards) so, I never freakout when they do happen. But I swear, all of a sudden, Max turns the brightest golden color you could imagine. I blinked and looked again. Yep. Still golden. I smile and backed away. He was "clear" again and nobody else seems to have seen the color change.

I keep silent.

Tomorrow I have a "private viewing" with Max. It will wait. The rest of the night goes by. Some people here have seen Max before, some have not. But Max is one crystal skull that is 110% unique.

From my journal on Aug 06:

A 30,000-year-old crystal skull is not easy to come by and much harder to replace. There have been some that calm that Max was not even made on this world! After all, who was around 30,000 years ago that can make something like Max that we cannot reproduce now with all our fancy tools? Nobody I know. See, the major issue with this crystal skull is this; the experts say that he cannot exist. Dating and all the "New age" issues aside, Max is special.

When I arrived at the house for my private viewing, I was expecting Max to be in the living room again like he was the following night. He wasn't. I was surprise that he wasn't out of his box and ready for the showing, time is money and all that. My mouth dropped when I was directed outside to the hostess's healing room and was told that I will be alone with Max for my thirty minutes. The room was a converted garage that was now a Reiki/ Massage room. Very nice looking. Max was on his light table with my chair to sit on in front of him. I was asked what I was going to do, or ask Max. General things, nothing special. I mentioned the tuning forks that I brought with me; after all, what crystal doesn't like sound? Being Wicca/ Pagan I always offer something as a gift. One does not get something for nothing. So I figured, I would do a harmonic healing for Max. With all the hands on him, I was sure he could use it. I was told that would be OK, but not to place the forks directly on him. I was also told that someone else actually played her flute for him! JoAnn left the room and closed the door. It was me and Max - alone together.

I laid out my full set of tuning forks and my own crystals that I brought. I had learned how to work with the forks in Denver. Ronna Herman, who channels Archangel Michael, does workshops world round. Anyway, I did my healing session and the room seemed like the atmosphere changed a little. I sat down on the chair in front of Max. I took my little looks around Max and the room, and then I said to myself, "What the heck are you waiting for? You're alone with a 30,000 old piece of crystal, that I will most likely never get the chance to have happen again and it "may" even be from another world. What the Fuck are you waiting for?"

I placed both hands around Max and took him off the light base and onto my lap! For now, this crystal skull is mine. I turn him over and over. Looked and stared and tried to memorize every nook and cranny. I saw everything there was on this skull. It was amazing.

As I mentioned before, Max is special. This skull is not by any means jewelry quality. If you saw this crystal before it was "cut," you would have thrown it away. This is because Max is not made by one piece of crystal but by five! I counted them. Five different crystal seed growths. And one looks like he is wearing a skullcap. Yes, Max is Jewish. lol. But it is these different growths that make Max special. There is no way in hell that anyone can, sand, polish with tools, or use water to create him. The skull would shatter into pieces. No shit. The British Museum knew this and they will not talk about it. Period.

Between the growths are what’s called incisions. They are there, I saw them. And they are not small. Thinner than paper but they are there. They also run through the eye socket, which would be a hard place to work on without the whole piece shattering. It was these incisions that helped to found Max's age. Seems there are new/ young crystal growth forming. It was this growth that got the 30,000 years. So who was around at that time? Mayans, as the people of Peru believe they are form the stars. Lemuria was supposedly close by, and there is always Atlantis. But the scientists of today say that they can't re-create it.

And it's in my hands!

Still memorizing things, I see that the teeth are all evenly space and all beveled at the same angle. Eye sockets with the incision running through one of them, is level and at the same depth. The skull is a little more than life size. That or it is just a big head. I turn it over, carefully, and I see a very unusual site. The jaw is fully there, even the bottom of it, of course. But the unusual thing is that the first vertebral is also there. In detail. This is something that most of the other skulls do not even have. I have about twenty minutes left so I decide on doing what I did the other night.

I place Max carefully back on the light stand and place my forehead on his. I relax and wait. No golden change but I find myself now inside max or some white room. There are no walls or anything, just white, and I float still. I notice everything. There are different shades of white; it's calm and quiet. I just float. Realizing this is as far as I'm going today, I release my thoughts and sit back straight. Say my thanks and hear a knock at the door.

JoAnn asks to come in and wants to hear my experience. She sees my crystals surrounding Max, including my Lemuria seed crystal. I tell her my vision and mention what happen the night before.

"Oh, that happens all the time. I even got a few pictures of Max glowing gold!"

If anything happens to me that is normal, I'm going to faint. lol. That night I did indeed have an interesting dream. I was back in that white room again floating. But this time, it felt that "things" were being pulled out of me at a very fast pace. Don't know what they were or who was doing the pulling but it was - interesting. So that was my personal story with "Max." I hope you enjoyed it. There is another story but this one is not written down anywhere.

It is a story about the original 13 tribes. Native Americans say, that there are 13 of these crystal skulls, one for each of the tribes. When all peoples are ready, the 13 tribes will once again rejoin themselves and all 13 skulls will resurface to bring their Higher teachings to serve all humanity.

Here's to the future!

The crystal skulls seem quite a feat regardless if it is crafted by man, nature, or other unearthly ways. I have read of the skulls being an elaborate hoax, and I have no personal proof of possessing real powers or not.

If you are really interested in it do a litttle google search engine query and find out more! There are sites that declare the whole thing a very elaborate hoax, and others that swear by the power of the skulls, and even ones devoted to aliens dropping by planet earth with the skulls as a peace offering.

Their has to be something to the skulls because i heard that they would have taken a long time to make, so why would someone spend all that time making them if they did not have an important reason...

The skulls, in my opinion, were created in the 19th or 20th century. That does not rule out they may have absorbed energy (magick) from the multiple persons the skulls have been exposed. They have taken on a power of their own. I doubt they were all made at the same time, and have little in common but the myths they have generated.

I agree with most of the others. i thing these skulls do not have powers. i think people are quick to place blame on things they may have aquired rescently as a way to reason for their sudden misfortune.

heres some fascinating information i ran across that might interest others as well.
Purpose and Theories about the Crystal Skulls
Based upon various research conducted upon these artifacts, the following theories have been proposed: We believe the Crystal Skulls are a form of computer which are able to record energy and vibration that occur around the them. The skull can and will pictorially replay all events or images of the people who have come into contact with them (i.e. - they contain the history of our world) when activated by color, light, sound or human energy. Just as our modern computers can receive or send information to other computers all over the world (the best example is Internet), so too can the Crystal Skulls send information amongst themselves. We believe, as the ancient legends describe, that the Crystal Skulls can and have been used for healing. Several of the caretakers of ancient crystal skulls (have received some profound healing by working with their own personal skulls) have received reports from various people who had improvements in their health. We of course need to do more scientific testing of this.

Based on reports and legends from various indigenous cultures, the crystal skulls have played a key role in these cultures development or have been viewed as a link to the Godhead, in whatever way this was represented to each of these tribes. We have also found a very strong link with extraterrestrials based on holographic images of "ETs" or spacecraft recorded in the skulls as well as discussed in some of the legends told by the people living in the areas where the skulls have been found. This leads us to believe that possibly beings from other worlds either brought these skulls to our world for some specific purposes (such as a tool to elevate consciousness and awareness of our spiritual origins) or gave to us the technology to make our own crystal skulls. If the Crystal Skulls were not brought by extraterrestrials then based on their strange properties, the phenomena occurring in their precise and the very concise way they were were formed, could this be evidence for the existence of much more advanced civilizations existing in our past who possessed superior technology or were quite advanced spirituall?. We have worked with several spiritual channels who suggest that the crystal skulls were created in Atlantis or Lemuria. That the Crystal Skulls could have originally been a human bone skulls that were changed to crystal through the power of the mind. Another theory we have uncovered discussing that the crystal skulls are connected to people who live in the Inner Earth. This idea presents the theory that our earth is Hollow with a small central sun at its core and openings at the poles. Gravity, which is located at the center of the Earth's crust, 800 miles thick, hold objects and people to the inner or outer surface. Supposedly, 13 master Crystal Skulls hold the genetic coding of Twelve Inner Earth Tribes and the thirteenth or central skull represents the family of these tribes.

Golden Age
I personally feel that the Crystal Skulls are not only here to share ancient knowledge and wisdom, but to assist in awakening our race to higher spiritual laws and understanding of itself. They are announcing that many of the ancients tools are coming back now because the planet is ready to use them again in a harmonious way. The Crystal Skulls are a tangible sign that indeed a Golden Age is fast approaching our world, possibly arriving by the end of 2012. The crystal skulls are inwardly calling those individuals who have worked with them in past lifetimes so they can help the skull to become more fully activated which will help to connect humanity to our inner divinity and the actualization of higher universal knowledge.

Any power or focus that they have seems likely to have been put there by the sheer power of belief and the reaffirming nature of those who want them to work.

Their origin is almost always that of a hoax but anything can be changed with enough intention, time and energy so just because their origins were often hoaxes, doesn't mean that they haven't become more powerful than the sum of their parts. Just as the cross is a powerful icon or focus for Christianity, these skulls may very well have become powerful focuses for their believers.

This is the first I have heard of the 13 Crystal Skulls, so I decided to do a bit of reading on the subject. I can't say personally that I believe they have special powers as I have never came in to contact with one of the skulls. However it seems that archaeologists were told by locals that the skulls do possess magical powers and healing properties. Some psychics also believe that they allow you to get a glimpse of the past, present, and future. Got this information from www.mendhak.com. I am doubtful of spirits resting within crystal skulss, but again, I have never been in contact with one. It is enirely possible that they are another phenomenon. Considering the evidence and first hand accounts of the special powers and the healing evidence of those people, and the documentation, whose to say what is fact or fiction..

I'm forcably reminded of a movie. Two movies, actually. One more than the other. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (vaguely), and The Phantom (alot).

It's not that I don't believe in this sort of thing, because I generally do. But at the same time, I'm a skeptic about purported mystical things being overtly created in a mysterious and, dare I say it, gothic sort of way.

Right now, with the missing one still gone, they are just crystal skulls.just rocks shaped into a human skull. When all are joined..who knows what may happen..IF they are somthing magical or whatever.Still..the onbes with the mooving jaw is still missing half of that jaw.So..I would guess untill the find evey single piece of it..we are just going to hav-ta wait to see what they can do.
I say..they are just stones..made into art forms of the
human skull.
Ever seen that movie..HOUSE?they had the skull
and it turned out that the skull is a gate-way into
other times, devided each room of the house in
diffrent times in diffrent universes. Its a cool movie.

Carvall - I personally don't get anything from them even on an asthetic level. I'm not a big fan of crystal as a metaphysical item...it always feels like it's just a big chunk of glass. Silver and Iron are substances that I feel more on line with.

Perhaps it's a subconscious rejection of 'new-agey' promotion that has really pushed heavily on crystals. I guess I'm just not sensitive to their nature or the full power that belief may have imbued, but then again I'm the same way with most items that are given 'popular' power (crosses, icons, pop-culture logos).

All crystals have energy and use energy. Logically the larger the crystal, the more energy it can hold, and use. I think they have been formed into the shape of skulls because humans made them. What is the most defining aspect of the human body? The head. It is how we think, and where we live. The skulls are symbologies.
I think that ancient ppl imbued these skulls with energy by making them, using them in rituals and having them amongst their populus.
Over all I think that it is just one of those things that we are making a bigger mystery out of them than what is really there.

They do have a purpose but that purpose has been lost to time... my theory is that ancient cultures emulated the gods' preoccupation with cryogenics and mistook the nature and purpose of the process = erroneously believing that heads had to be revered to retain power...

You people have no clue what you are talking about. These skulls are ancient and were used by the Mayans and the Alanteans. Two of them predate earth and civilization and to say they have no magickal powers is an understatement . I have had the pleasure of seeing Max when JoAnn brought him to San Antonio.

Aura photos were taken before and after I held him. I had a soft purple aura before I held Max and in the photo while I was holding him my aura was bright red and it was reaching up toward the top of my head. He was trying to communicate with me.

These skulls are not carved or chiseled by traditional tools, no one knows how these skulls were formed. There are only 7 not 13 skulls that are perfectly shaped to the size of a man's skull. There is definitely a purpose for these skulls, when Max was tested, the amount of energy he gave off caused the EKG being used to test him blew up.

What their purpose is we don't quite know? We do know that healing is one of its functions but such a find a 7 crystal skulls the size of a man's skull is truly amazing.

And if you can find one in a catalog, I would love to see it.
