hello. i seen that the last E.V.P. thread was closed so i would like to make a continuance of that thread. i am including a brief explaination of what an E.V.P. is too.
E.V.P. definition:
The capture of spirit voices on magnatic tape as audio recordings. We have also had luck with digital voice recorders! Many times the sound is not heard until it is played back. Other names include: Ghost voices, ghost recordings, paranormal evps, ghost evp, paranormal evp.
here is also a link to this site.

that is a truly good site to go and listen to them at. i wanted to also throw in a history of the origins of E.V.P. i hope ya dont mind :)
According to paranormal researchers, electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are speech or speech-like sounds, which are said to be inaudible during recording but detected on electronic recording media upon playback. They are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase and are sometimes claimed to be in direct response to the questions of researchers. EVP has been said to be found on diverse media, including: radio, hamradio, television, tape recorders and videorecorders. The term was coined by publishing company Colin Smythe Ltd in the early 1970s. Previously the term “Raudive Voices” was used, after Dr. Konstantin Raudive, an early researcher. References to EVP have appeared in the reality television show Ghost Hunters, the fictional Supernatural and the Hollywood films White Noise and The Sixth Sense as well as literature including the novels Legion and Pattern Recognition. EVP are a subset of the paranormal field of instrumental transcommunication.
EVP has been studied by paranormal researchers since the 1950s, who have concluded that the most likely explanation is that they are produced by the spirits of the deceased. In 1959, Attila Von Szalay first claimed to have recorded the 'voices of the dead', which lead to the experiments of Friedrich Jurgenson. The 1970s brought increased interest and research including the work of Konstantine Raudive. In 1980, William O'Neill backed by industrialist George Meek built a 'Spiricom' device which was said to facilitate very clear communication between this world and the spirit world. Today, some paranormal researchers including Sarah Estep and Alexander McRae continue to investigate the subject. In addition to spirits, paranormal researchers have claimed that EVP could be due to: psychic echoes from the past, psychokinesis unconsciously produced by living people, or the thoughts of aliens or nature spirits. Paranormal investigators have used EVP in various ways including, as a tool in an attempt to contact the souls of dead loved ones and in Ghost hunting. Organizations dedicated to investigating EVP include the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena, the International Ghost Hunters Society, as well as the skeptical Rorschach Audio project.
Critics of the concept contend that the sounds heard are due to non-paranormal phenomena such as fraud, misidentification or lack of quality of equipment. They explain that the human brain is naturally evolved to interpret familiar patterns from sound and that this phenomena accounts for many instances of apparent 'voices' or 'voice-like' sounds. The condition known as Auditory pareidolia (or Rorschach Audio) is said by critics to cause humans to interpret random sounds into voices in their own language which might otherwise sound like random noise to a foreign speaker. Sound engineers who use equipment at a much higher quality than that which is used by many EVP researchers have stated that they have never heard voices after years of listening to tape and hard disk recordings and that the low quality of the equipment used can account for many of the apparent voices. Critics have also concluded that some casese are apophenia (finding of significance or connections between insignificant or unrelated phenomena), misidentification, or hoaxes.

Do u have a specific question or something? there is no decussion here this thread will be closed if you don't extend!
yes i did have a question. i want to know if what one hears on these things are indeed voices of the dead or just figments of out imagination. sorry should have said before.
heres a link to someother evps
http://www.haunteddiary.com/evps.html
ok i found another site this one has over 50 evps you can listen to
http://www.isisinvestigations.com/EVPS1.html
i tryed doing it once in my house but their was to much noise around to be able to capture anything. good article by the way i will check the website out to.
My friend does this and I have heard some very weird things on it...
those are awesome MysticMoon. thank you for sharing those :)
That's some weird stuff. Though, I wonder, if sometimes people just hear what they want to hear.
awsome website it was freaky and it is sometimes hard to tell whether it is ghost voices or just regular noices i heard. i want to try it again and i let ya all know if it works when i do it.
I have tryed it a few times and have yet to have succuess but will keep trying until something happens, hopfully soon...lol...333
I know people who does this . It's real and it works .
i actually got to hear an evp that someone here on vr made and it was very creepy . He didnt tell me what was said but i could make it out very clear and it was the same as what he had heard
i have also heard a few evp recordings, the ones ive done myself and i have to se that they do work and very well.
ha anyone caught anything on video.. that would be interesting to see?
i have a couple of videos but no way to get them on here.. :(
oh i found anothr link to some evps..
http://www.ohioghosthunter.com/evps_ghosts.html
yes i went on a hunt and brought some video home with me to anylise, and on it i found a man from mid torso up. . he was an older man probably late 60's i am guessing from the face but that is one thing ive caught so far :)
i thought i had seen something, but wasnt sure. when i first seen it , it was in an area that actually was not said to have been a haunted area. so i followed what i thought i seen and there it was :)
shame we cant see if .. ive searched on the net for some vieos showing this kind of thing .. mostly there are just orb ones
here is a video from youtube that has a pretty decent visualization....
http://www.history.com/minisite.do?content_type=Minisite_Generic&content_type_id=713&display_order=1&mini_id=1076
oh wow thats pretty freaky.. i know one thing i would have beaten him out of that hole..lol
here is an evp... towards the end you have to listen closely it says give us those.
i couldnt make out what was being said but i did hear what sounded like the wind when the guys were talking
no problem.. here is another one... im not sure what it says but can tell theres something there.....
I believe i can be heard and sometimes unexplained. other times I think that maybe another sound can make you think you hear something.
I am getting ready to try this at work. I have seen and felt strange things there and I just want to see if i can catch anything. If I do i will try to share it with you all.
awesome queenofdarkness look forward to hearing it.. happy hunting..
to answer your question, the voices are there! but the device is ver sensitive! it could either be the voice of the spirits that lingure or the voice of someone in the outside world! (some one who is living) u never know! but the voices are not imagined that i can tell u!
I honestly think they are truly voices...of spirits trying to speak to us....
I think for the most part people are far to quick to jump to the paranormal as an explanation for everything that can't be explained right off the bat.
I have no doubt that the paranormal exists, but one has to learn how to be rational before chalking it off to a paranormal phenomenon.
Obviously for the most part they are "spirits" or people/souls on different planes.
Not necassarily dead in their world, but to ours.
A lot of the evp's that i hear on websites are good, but i really do not know how thoes voices were made so i can not fully believe thoes evp's, i believe that their are probably a lot of evp's that are real but i would have to be around while the person was recording the voices to totally believe the ones on these websites...
I woul d love to try to capture someof these myself.. just not sure where to start and what I would need.. do u need a certian type of machine or would a normal recorder work.. Ive also seen people say they can catch them ontheir computers .. how would you do that?
yes a digital voice recorder or the old time cassette recorder with an attatched mic will work for sure :)
i think the part of seeing them in the tv as like when recording doesent happen but numerous cases of a ghosts reflection has been seen on the screen of a tv that is off.
oh ok thanks for the info .. the part about tv screen is kind of freaky..
That last video is really evil sounding. One pissed spirit.
omg that evp gave me the chills their was something their wow pretty awsome
heres an link to another one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVNyZIsAapY
lve the evps on this page.. very spooky and yet ina strange way really intersting
oh wow .. i love this one and i could hear it pretty clear
wow u can realy hear something on this one.. I wish there was some way of proving that these were actual genuine evps
all are interesting to watch and all but you really dont know what ones are real or not but its kool to watch and hear about id like to be around e.v.p.`s while this is going on
yes, so would i... i have many but got to get them here... but here is one more i found interesting :)
i have went to those sites and i dont know maybe it is the skeptic in me but unless i see the actual tape i dont believe
i do agree with you meska. i am the same way... these are good but really dont know if they are real or not. that is why i want to get mine on here.. even tho i am also a big skeptic and have to be for being a paranormal investigator :)
it would be something i have to experence for myself and then tell you
On GRUESOMETENDENCIES first EVP post, you can hear the voice when there is about three to four seconds left on the recording. On his second post, I heard a cat-like yowl voice saying "Hello" and "I" with a couple other words that I could really make out but they were in the same kind of cat-like yowl voice. There is a cemetery in my town that has had documented EVP's recorded and if you place a recorder on a certain marker, you can hear knocking coming from inside the grave. I am going to try and get the cities permission to go in there one night and try to get some recordings of my own, and then, with the Prince's permission, will post them somewhere on VR if not in my own journal for all to enjoy. Great posts of EVP's GRUESOMETENDENCIES and all others who posted EVP recordings as well. Carpe Noctem
I just think it is the voices in your head that can sometimes be heard in your mind to be somethng else but it is nothing as for noises u hear on recorded tapes i would tape it again and see if u notice the samething again or do u see a pattern of sounds that might be the cause of the noise on the recording.
If you are speaking to me, sportsfan, than you didn't listen all that well to the posted recordings. No, it is not the voices in my head that are talking, we are on the same subject and thought train. And, no, they are not patterns of noise from the recording device itself. Some of the recorders used are traditional tape recorders and some are modern digital recorders. If you go back and listen to the posted recordings, turn the volume all the way up, or at least close to it, and listen to each of the recordings, preferably with a higher quality pair of head-phones, and cover the ear phones with your hands and listen very carefully to the recordings and focus in on the background noise and static. You will hear differences in the recordings and be able to make out voices. I do not, in any means, mean to offend you or disagree with what you are saying because sometimes what you did say is true, but all of the recordings posted so far have been verified and documented whether they are on YouTube or not. Carpe Noctem
i really appreciate that Natriel. being an investigator can usually get the good ones from the bad ones. but sometimes it is hard to decipher one from the other if it is not your own. so thank you for your words :)
i have to agree with Natriel i hear the posted evps quite clearly
I don't see why it couldn't be real. I suppose it could also be people hearing what their imagination wants, but I think it's real. I believe in the paranormal and I think this is completely possible.
If we can see and feel ghosts, then I don't see why wouldn't be able to hear them as well.
I just read this truly interesting article and wanted to share it with everyone. There is a group now trying to put some solidarity int evp that would make this a true science. here is the link to the site and i hope tht you all find it an interesting read......
http://paranormal.about.com/od/ghostaudiovideo/a/aa013006_2.htm
i think when people hear evp the just brush it off, and make an excuse for it not to be real
Ok them clips are freaky!!! Aint no way! I would have beaten everyone around me to get back outside LOL
However I think that it is awesome the things that we can find, see, and hear in them weird places! I would go but most deffinetly not by myself!
EVPs are something that have fascinated me for a long time. If I remember right, the thing about EVP recordings is that they are recorded outside the human vocal range, which means they cannot be faked by just editing a voice in later.
DaQueenOfNight i have to agree with you.. I would be fighting you for the door..lol
Gt reallt intersting site.. ,would be so cool if they did confirm these
yes it would DC. it would mean a great deal to the scientific world and to the investigators as well to finally be recognized.
I think a lot of the parapsychological phenomena like audio from spirits or such recorded is directly related to the "astral plane," or one of our third eye's other dimensions that it exists in.
Basically sometimes we can attract, repel, or contact, or experience, these things from other dimensions or the other dimensions themselves.
So for example, something from dreamworld, people who have passed this physical realm, maybe even beings from entirely different worlds on a separate dimension used or existing for who knows what.
My point may eventually be that I think the audible sounds, and any parapsychological phenomena that is not a hoax or bogus is very possibly a real part of our reality that we havent tapped fully into yet!
very kewl although id have to agree i would not be so sane if i did hear a ghost speak i would be freaking out and ive dealt with some paranormal activity in my own Home and it has made me nervous especially living alone
A friend and I had gone to Sica Hollow. It's a state park in my area. The story behind it is that that is the place where the Devil visited the Sioux warriors and convinced them to attack the settlers thus causing the events that led to Wounded Knee and those after. We brought a video camera and microcassette recorder. I managed to get some voices on the cassette recorder, and thoroughly freaked out there.
Not to be almighty dogma, but that all could be used as evidence that there are other planes/dimensions that our consciousness explores and can be more or less in touch with according to all sorts of factors (like frequent meditation, self-intonation, astral travel abilities, what you eat, are listening to, etc).
In my opinion, it's something that's "real," that we have the ability to tap into, which is why some people get experiences and some don't (and some more frequent and/or vivid than others).
The voices that we hear are true. I had a friend who was recording asking specific questions and was getting the exact answer
That is very rare for that to happen but it does happen.
i believe in it, it works. i also have heard "voices" in a staticy t.v.....but that was too hollywood and i got kinda freaked out...;)
The TV i dont believe in but the using a tape recorder i believe when i hear the voices
I've heard a few recordings from other people. some are so crystal clear...and some are just static to me. though they think they can hear something.
So I wonder why that is?
Are they hearing things? Or are they hearing a message only just for them?
Some evp's i can believe to a point but if you get 10 people in a room to listen to an evp you will most likely get 10 different answers on what the evp is saying, that is why it is hard for me to believe in a lot of the evp's that i have heard, but i do believe that it is possible to record evp's...
EVP is as real as it can be. They have recorded many things at Alcatraz. for instance.
Yes they have. They have done numerous places and from what i have personally heard some of the recordings before they were made publically open.
um ok so i watched white noise and omg it freaked me the hell out. I don't think I would like to ever catch anything like that on tape nor would I like to see it either.
My daughter did one in my mothers house and caught two voices. One said, "JoAnn I love you" and the other one, different from the first, was hard to make out, but we believe it says "I'm sorry". I believe in EVP.
EVP's are hard to understand. U have to listen closely and also some times u need to filter out the background noise
Yes, sometimes filter and amplify just to be able to hear them. :)
i have been watching this stuff on tv, its neet to learn
Yes it is. But there is nothing like the experience of doing it too :)
