Due to length ,part two of the nature of majick has closed. However,I am continuing this thread,as I feel there has been alot of really good imput which has stirred questions as to what majick could in fact be.I have been working on an extensive article on this subject, and hope to have it posted soon.
As of now,I am conducting an experiment which looks into the subject of Cats and witchcraft, which was brought up by LadyDarkRayne in another thread..I feel that, not only does it include itself in this very subject, it can be a good starting point to focus on energies/frequencies that have an affect on those who practice the arts.
I would like you to ask yourselves how it is you feel about this whole subject in general,.Thank you all for your great imput.

Any animal can be dedicated as a familiar. Cats are just the ones that are usaually associated with witches.

Yes,that has been well established. What I would like to know,is why or what it is that might have started this relationship.Any thoughts on that?

Thank you for posting that V.Simon.
So,you feel the black cat is associated with the Devil or bad luck?
And if so,how ?
Do you feel the fact thet he is black has something to do with it?

I will tell you, this isnt the first time I have seen majick/meaness or some other similar trait associated with the colour black. There was actually a study done at one point where they were trying to establish whether black horses were meaner and/or more dominant in their herds.I dont recall, but I think the results non conclusive.I might have tio recheck to see how that turned out.
It would be interesting to look into how the black cat got its reputation though.

I like the fact that this subject has indeed entered the discussion.

I agree with whoever stated that a magick user can call many forms of creature as a familiar.

I have known people to use ravens, cats, lizards and frogs as familiars. However the relationship with a magick user and a cat as a familiar usually works the best for the following reasons.

1. A cat always seems more affectionate towards heir owner.

2. Cats have for a long time been associated with psychic/mental abilites....even back to the ancient egyptian times.

3. Cats have an uncanny resistance to death (9 lives).

4. Cats live longer than the average bird or reptile.

5. Cats can see extremely well in the dark.

6. Cats seem to have a sixth sense.

7. Cats are very curious but highly intelligent. (some scientists believe cats to be as intelligent as humans, but just cannot communicate with us effectively)

8. Cats make excellent guardians and can alert any owner to danger quickly.

I hope this helps oceanne.

Mener

Hey WB,I have messaged you in regards to that.I am actually going to wait just a little farther alone so I will have something substancial to post.I will say this however,I am a bit suprised by some of the results that we have gotten thus far, even on the first day of testing..,I am researching the relationship of the cat/witch ,and what perhaps got it all started.

Great post Menner, indeed any and all information is wonderful.Thank you.

I would like to go on to say that while there are many good reasons for the association to have gotten started,I really do believe there is more to it than the cat being friendly and cuddly or mysterious.
There is a key element that makes these animals preferable above all others.I would really like to find out what it is.
It is still my belief that it has to do with sound waves and the patterns that are created with them and their relation to majick.I think it could be, that certain animals, such as the some you have listed Men, were possibly used as a sort of detection device .And the witches could tell,by the reactions what energies were being sucessfully called forth at he time, therefore, becoming "familiar" with the animal.Something along that line.

Some food for thought.
The cat was used by the egyptians as a way to ward off evil spirits alot of the black cat therory goes back to the salem witch trials where several of the codemmed had cats as pets, course in that time period cats were often found to rid places of rodents. I believe the reason alot of people would associate cats and witches is because of old superstition. Druids often have squirrles or any wild animal as a familiar. The native americans have spirit guides that are also animals, alot of thier tales reflect animals in a state of leadership. As for communication all animals talk we as humans have to take the time to listen. Cats are both domesticated and wild at the same time. They can fend for themselves if they have to, or like mine they love to sleep on a warm bed.

magic is spelled magic not majick and second off magic is a ritual not a play toy it is a serious thing so be careful make sure not to hurt anyone or urself and don't cast love spells when you know that you can't make a counter to make people quit wanting you cause it doesn't always work LMAO

Not real sure about the whole familiar thing, but I know that the cat I used to have could see ghosts or spirits, perhaps that has partly something to do with it.

Good food there kerjohns, thank you for your post...and I agree that most of these things might have been perpetuated by the very things you mention.Yet,I cannot shake the feeling that there was a very specific reason that Cats got the reputation they did and found their place ever to be associated with majick, whether it was from Egypt,Salem or wherever.
I have been around animals a very long time, and I have seen more than one exibit some traits or qualities that cats do.Yet they have never been so tightly equated with majick like the cat...ior even the Raven has. That one is next on my list to check.
Also, many animals have a "6th sense" so I dont believe it is that either.I think it might be more like a ..7th sense so to speak.
Who knows,its fun lookin.

i highly doubt your cat could see spirits or wraiths or ghosts whatever you wish to call them because you might have accused it that way as for a cat loving to eat mice you know it mighta just been something that had been knocked over or w/e but have fun with this thread i'm done with it lol

Think about this bdsprotector,If what I have been propsing all this time with this thread, these energies we are discussing are found in abundence all across the Universe and have been attributed to the Divine ,hell or whatever. Now,if majick is an understanding and manipulation of some of these energies, who is to say that certain animals, like the Cat cannot detect them? And that,in fact, that was what gave them this reputation in the first place.Do you see in infared or ultraviolet? No,but it doesnt mean they do not exsist.
Get my point?
Look, all we are doing is exploring possible explainations here..I would love to hear what you have come up with.

There was something about resonance and purring in the last thread. But the big cats purr, too, and are not thought nearly as magical as the wee ones.

Bloodmother - probably because getting eaten by a big cat isn't quite as attractive as having a domestic kitty kneeding a blanket on the couch.

The frequency, however, may still have a connection in African folk lore. There are several tales regarding magical lions.

I would like to clairify something, and that is that many of the big cats, lions and such do not pur.And perhaps that might be why, while we do hear some stories about shapeshifting concerning the Lion and (thanksWB for bringing that up)Jaguar, the relationship between human and beast is not quite the same.Or so it seems thus far. There is an old saying,if it roars,it cannot pur,if it purs it cannot roar.
It is a smalll technicality, but a difference non the less.

Don't know about all the big cats, and not sure if Tigers roar, but in Phx., went to a show with Tigers.

For an extra $5 bucks you could stand on one side of tall chain link fence and feed the tiger raw chicken parts with tongs.

Up high and down low.

Up high, the tiger stood on his hind legs (maybe 9') to reach the chicken.

I could smell him and feel his heat, and his purr was an eager rumble that practically massaged me.

Some Egyptian tomb paintings show leashed big cats --- leopards or panthers, I think.

I myself think that the dominant genen of white haired animals is more meaner then black. Also a familiar can be made out of any animal. But those creatures which have came to your door on there own are usually the ones.

Sorry to not get back earlier Oceanne.

Not sure what you mean by infrasound, but my memory of the moment is clear: not only did the hair stand up on my arms, spider-tingles crawled up my back.

It was all me and great big tiger. My estimate of his size is modest. I'm 5' 6" and with arm stretched high, and taking the length of the tongs into consideration, that's the conservative estimate.

His fur was very thick and wet from swimming. The show was him playing in a pool with inflated toys alongside his trainer.

I was vaguely aware that the trainer stood next to me and that a crowd of humans filled the grandstand, but my rapture was all in the moment.

He lifted himself to his hind legs effortlessly, not a spring or leap. His giant paws pressed into the chain link, making it give. Tiny points from his claws, unextended, peeked through. They were clean. His belly was slightly rounded, no ribs showing through. I had a brief thought about how animals are not fed to make them perform, but this cat seemed well-cared for.

You know, infrasound has quite an affect on emotions ...
Some physical affects experienced include tingling in the back of the neck and a strange feeling in the stomach.
It is even said to be a part of what makes places feel haunted.
oh,BM,infrasound is sound too low for us to hear. They are doing alot of experiments with it these days and getting amazing results.

One little note on the audio frequencies. I have taken audio recording classes in college and I personally own a pair of high end head phones, or cans as they are sometimes called in the industry. The range on these is 20 to 30,000 hertz. I was taught in college that the avg human hearing range is 20-20,000 hertz. (This range is tested on very small children when their ears are still fresh an "unabused" if you will. The ranges you give are spot on for the average adult though.)

Anyway, when I asked my professor why they went up to 30k he said you might not actually hear the sound but you can feel it. It adds body to the overall sound and makes it more organic and life like.

This being said, just because you can't hear a sound wave coming at you doesn't mean that it doesnt affect you in some fashion. It becomes immedietly apparent if you have ever stood in from of a speaker system putting out very low frequencies. You can see the cones of the speakers moving and feel the impact of the waves hitting you but you hear nothing. (Never get near something like this without proper hearing protection or you risk SERIOUS damadge to your ears.)

There have been experiments on how to make someone nauseous or dizzy using certain frequencies. Other tests have been done on how to shatter certain substances with specific frequencies. Some of these tests didn't lead very far, but it is possible. I'm sure most have heard about opera singers shattering a glass with their voice alone. This is a perfect example of this type of thing and it is very real.

Its all about waves lining up and/or clashing that leads to this type of thing.

You guys..really,this thread would be nothing without your awesome imput,it is no secret I am not so hot at presenting stuff.Thanky you for all your help.
Mushy,I know but so what?
Now,with that being said,I will move on.I would like to bring to the table something that will take us in a somewhat different direction, although it is an important part of what I am trying to present here.Later,I'll show you how it all ties in.
My question to you now is this..What is it about Gold do you feel makes it so valuable thruout the world and its history?

The best explanation I could give for that is that gold quickly found its way into human rites and ceremonies because it was "pretty". I doubt very strongly that it is because of the 12th Planet explanation.

And you're right,it did because it is pretty, but when you think about it,I think you will see there is more to it than that..maybe

Alchemy is about obtaining gold.
Holy Grail...Gold. Or at least its representation.one of the holiest and sought after relics on this planet.
Theres alot of important stuff made out it.
Silver and Mercury, are important too,but later with those...

Most if not all of Alchemy is allegorical (Soulshroude could probably explain it better) - using the transformation of base metal into gold as a symbol of man's rude and imperfect state being transformed into that which is perfect such as gold. It wasn't founded until over a millenia after the death of Christ.

Christ's Holy Grail was only depicted as gold as this was by that time already a precious metal. The Ark of the Covenant was also said to be made purely out of gold, but it was because it was to be made into the throne for a king. This is evidence that gold had already needled its way throughout the fabric of human societies.

Also I read with great pleasure Lovecraf`s story "The cats of Ulthar" and "Instinct vs. Reason - A Black Cat" by E. A. Poe.

Cats "Kiss" with their Eyes. Have you ever noticed your cat gazing at you for a long moment and then slowly blinking his eyes? That's the kitty equivalent of a kiss, and you should feel very flattered. Of course, a nip on the nose is also their way of giving a kiss. If you want to show your cat you love him, give him a kitty kiss right back. No, not on the nose. Just give him that long stare and slow blink and see what happens.

I like that thing about cats and I do that with the cats I like since I was 13 and first heard about that. It`s a really a nice thing.

Also the seeing ofthe cat is very interesting because they seem to see more then we do. The light is just wave lenght and they seem to percieve other visual frequences then humans. In a tale of Lovecraft ("From Beyond") there is an interesting speculation about that:

"What do we know," he had said, "of the world and the universe about us? Our means of receiving impressions are absurdly few, and our notions of surrounding objects infinitely narrow. We see things only as we are constructed to see them, and can gain no idea of their absolute nature. With five feeble senses we pretend to comprehend the boundlessly complex cosmos, yet other beings with wider, stronger, or different range of senses might not only see very differently the things we see, but might see and study whole worlds of matter, energy, and life which lie close at hand yet can never be detected with the senses we have. I have always believed that such strange, inaccessible worlds exist at our very elbows, and now I believe I have found a way to break dawn the barriers. I am not joking. Within twenty-four hours that machine near the table will generate waves acting on unrecognized sense organs that exist in us as atrophied or rudimentary vestiges. Those waves will open up to us many vistas unknown to man and several unknown to anything we consider organic life. We shall see that at which dogs howl in the dark, and that at which cats prick up their ears after midnight."

A very interesting and stimulating thread!

Bio-Geometrical shapes have three primary vibrational qualities: (1) negative green, (2) a higher harmonic of ultra-violet, and (3) a higher harmonic of gold. Only shapes which produce energy fields with all three components are Bio-Geometrical.

To the first posting of the weblink Oceanne - that's the reason scientists had suggested trying to form a thin layer of gold around the earth in order to preserve the ozone. It's supposed to give evidence to the idea of the Annunaki enslaving the humans to mine gold for them. Unless gold can be shown to asisst in faster than light space travel, I have a hard time buying it.

I hope I understand a glimmer of what it is you might be getting at. That gold has a sound which makes us feel its presence almost preternaturally. Should we be able to harness that sound more effectively, we might be able to use it more efficiently for magical purposes.

Yes and there is a bit more too. :)

In his 2003 book Lost Secrets of the Ark of the Covenant, author Laurence Gardner explained the rediscovery of monatomic gold, which he claims could be the alchemical Philosopher’s Stone, used by the ancients to “feed their light bodies” – or travel to an “alternative dimensional state of being.”

PGMs, or platinum group metals, were first (re)discovered in the 19th century. But when a wealthy cotton farmer named David Hudson discovered the mother lode on his property in Phoenix, Arizona in 1976, it revived an age-old mystery. Hudson was treating his soil with chemicals, and found that a certain mineral had the unusual ability to “flare up in a blaze of white light and totally disappear” when exposed to sunlight. During spectroscopic arcing, the application of intense electrical heat, part of the atom becomes white light – its weight seems to disappear, but actually it is just removed to an alternate non-physical dimension. It looks like a white powder, but behaves as a stone, is said to change colors, produce brilliant light and deadly rays.

Hudson patented his discovery as ORMEs – orbitally rearranged monatomic elements, in the late 1980s. (Note the 1991 Bruce Willis movie called Hudson Hawk, about a gold machine.) He also began contacting scientists who were researching a new fuel cell technology, and found they had been having problems with white light explosions. In their experiments, the metals seemed to fall to about half their weight, seeming to disappear from sight until cooled, when they would miraculously reappear. They had discovered superconductors. A superconductor contains a flowing ‘liquid’ light, like a plasma, with a null magnetic field. This meant they could levitate, and the magnetic field surrounding the superconductor is called a Meissner Field.

ORMEs are said to have extraordinary powers of levitation, transmutation, and teleportation. The Institute for Advanced Studies in Austin, Texas calls it ‘exotic matter’, capable of bending space-time. They theorized the material resonated into an alternative perceptual vision, another dimension of space-time, and could enable speed-of-light travel.

Science had officially rediscovered the Philosopher’s Stone. In ancient times, the method and manufacture was known only to metallurgical adepts of the Mystery schools. They knew this special ‘powder of projection’ could ‘transmute human ignorance into the spiritual gold of enlightenment.’ Indeed, application of these atoms to human DNA causes the DNA strand itself to become a superconductor. Several articles have been published suggesting its use to treat cancer. It is known that gold and platinum metals in their monatomic high-spin state can “activate the endocrinal glandular system in a way that heightens awareness, perception and aptitude to extraordinary levels.” It also caused those who ingested the material to glow, or shine. There are several mentions of glowing faces or countenances in the Bible.

In the Bible, the substance was known as shewbread, the ‘bread of the Presence’, and manna (which means “What is this” for the question continually asked in amazement). The Pyramid Texts call it “mfkzt” or “white bread”, and it is depicted in various hieroglyphs and bas-reliefs as a conical white stone. Some believe it was contained in the Ark of the Covenant, thereby explaining the strange deadly rays said to emanate from it.

This Philosopher’s Stone, called firestone by the ancients and ORMEs by modern science, seems like a rock, looks like a powder and can be eaten like bread. In fact, today you can even buy it online. But though some attest to its healing qualities, I question whether it is necessary for our ascension to the higher realms, or whether it’s just a way to artificially ascend without true love or faith. Is it a ‘fast food enlightenment’, a white bread of empty calories? Since this discovery, considerable sums of gold have suddenly been stockpiled, or disappeared into thin air. When the IMF announced the sale of large amounts of bullion, said to benefit poor, gold-producing nations, instead the plan devastated these fragile small economies. Somewhere, noted author Gardner, certain anonymous ‘buyers’ were able to amass huge amounts of gold at a bargain price. As Lao Tzu reminds us, “amass a store of gold and jade, and no one can protect it.” Now who do we know with a lot of money?

It would also explain the injuries sustained by those who attempted to steal the Ark of the Covenant. (one man's hand fell off).

Well, at first I had to say that I didn't believe it. But I have to say that in order for a wormhole to be created it would need an "exotic substance" which could create a peek and trough mirror, such that they would cancel each other out. According to one of your links, a thin gold film as able to create an obstruction in the second harmonic enough to make it greater than even the sum of two second harmonic peeks. This could suggest that the exotic substance needed would be a gold base.

But is it just gold? Are their other precious stones that can do anything similar?

That's a good one. Makes for a good sci-fi tv movie though. Unfortunately, if that experiment did occur, it was so heavily buried by the US that no real truth can be gleaned from it - unless of course you already know how it's possible in more than just hypothesis.

When I found out some men were allegedly "fused" to the ship, I didn't go any further. I supposed it was all made up. But I may be interested in learning more. How would the particles of all the men and the ship have broken up and come back together almost perfectly?

I could see if the sound which created the "cloak" had an effect on everything within it. Everyone outside would see the ship disappear - but those on the inside..... If sound was able to distort the exterior air, why wouldn't it have dessimated anything it was surrounding? Is that where the thin old film comes in? A barrier?

Sorry BloodMother.

In 1943 there was allegedly a US project started based on Einstein's Unified Field Theory, which so far doesn't exist. Tesla however claimed that he had discovered it. Shortly after his death in 1943 the US government confiscated a bunch of his papers, which several people speculated was a precursor to the actual Philadelphia Experiment.

There's a wikipedia article on it, if you want to check it out.

Yes, i read through them --- several times. The Sumerians will feel like comfortable old shoes --- review, but perhaps you have something more relevant to the discussion than dusty books I've picked up here and there, and old archeology and anthro textbooks. I probably looked more at bas relief, poetry, etc.

I am going to back up here just a little as I think Im bringing the metals into this at the wrong time.I would really like t=you to compare the cymatic patterns with those symbols that have come down through out the ages as majick .
Well, what I noticed was that most majick symbols that are used all pretty much centre around the sacred geometry patterns. Those patterns are also produced by certain sounds..I am thinking that anchient majick symbols are codes of the harmonics that cause physical changes, and when employed properly, the user can manipulate the physical...this your sorcerers and mages..Along that line.
