I just spent the better part of my Sunday evening cleaning up fake Vampire Rave user accounts. And I have a lot more to do...

This is really pissing me off.

For those of you trying to inflate your ratings by creating multiple accounts, consider yourselves on notice. From tonight forward I will just start deleting members. At this point I am not going to mention names, but many of our senior members are involved.

Grow up people.

I can believe that. I've noticed it too, and I have to say it is quite immature. It's a rating people, not the end of the world. Who the fuck cares what your portfolio/ profile is rated, it's a petty reason indeed.

I had to create a new account under Angel because for some reason I could not log in under my other one...Angelique.
I am sorry if this has caused any confusion but if you let me know how to get back on under Angelique you may delete Angel. Sorry again.

I too have additional accts. Raef, for when I was going to leave. I do admit it was rather childish to use this profile to see what people were going to say. However it was my intention. The other Rebekah, was created by my human.Wich I believe rated Taymos..Neither of wich have been use for deviouse perposes, well exept to spy. I would have deleted these myself, if I would have known a problem would arise.. As far as anyone creating these fakes to gain status...Gimme a break.....

What can be created to boost your profile can also be used against someone elses.

Here's my take on it ob1:

Almost everything withheld-- age, location, etc.
The 'ask me' or 'just message me'-- mostly spelled incorrectly-- text in the profile.

I think its useless to create a fake Profile..........spying and cheating is stupid for me.....if someone have a problem....go ask them direct....and discuss them out....

that is bullshit. I have ran into this before(you f**kers know who you are) not only does some of them use it to bring up there ratings but they also like to play mind games(That Lestat shit with me is a bunch of bs, and you know who you are that i am directing this towards)

More then likely can trace IPs but what is this prof rating? and ya know if you have to cheat to get it that just proves you don't have a life. Hell this is the Internet and if you think you should be rated good and they don't rate ya well screw um why cheat to get it? I myself would just strive to make it better but hay to each there own.

I have an Idea, take the rating part off and leave the comment part.
if they want to say something about there profile they can leave a comment.

I'm not going to remove the ratings. And I am not going to remove the Top list either...

If you'll recall, I implemented some changes to the rating system about 6 weeks ago because I saw this coming. The ratings of lower level users count less than those of longer term VR members. So you have to create A LOT of accounts to make any impact in your rating. The biggest boost I have spotted thus far was 3/4 of a point.

I am not very concerned about people who have a few accounts, for whatever reason. I will only take action if I feel you are using multiple accounts in an attempt to manipulate the rating system.

I am not going to go into all of my fraud detection, but it's much deeper than IP tracking. You won't get away with anything beyond a few accounts.

Right now I am auditing accounts manually, which is time consuming. I will be creating a script to automate the task, and at that point, many discrepancies will be revealed.

LOL..never thought of it. A few weeks ago my rating went down half a point over night and I was like wow. But it never would have occured to me to get more accounts to add to my rating. I just added more pics to my portfolio and a pic to my profile....the way i figure it, if ya dont like me who cares..there are plenty of people who do and I like myself =)

Agreed, Angelpie. Such petty actions stem from this site at times, if your that insecure go read some self help books. Or mayyyyyyybe you could enhance your current profile :)

My nephew joined up and sometimes i use there internet when i am at thier house his is madbeau please don't think it's a fake cos it isn't he's 14 yrs old

The thing is I think statistics show the truth of what is happening... The fact that as of today we 807 whelps shows how serious the problem really is. Way back in June/July I suggested that whelps shouldn't be able to vote until they at least progress to Mosy's ..but I for one am happy to see the power of whelps hs now been reduced and that my suggestion was taken seriously.

However, I'd like to thank my freinds and family who did come into VR to vote for me.. and all who have remained here and who have long left the ranks of whelp. I guess they are addicted too ~ But it is sad that they can't come in anymore considering they network the same isp as me. A few of you have had the pleasure of meeting and talking with them and someday I hope will again ..

People look at picture, rate and bite-- that's it. A lot of people won't even -read- these threads because they are not topics in their mental capacity.

I have noticed that. There have been quite a few people who have asked me questions (when I mention my surgery) and I think to myself, it's right there in my profile, why didnt ya look?

I don't know how many people have sent me messages saying my profile is too long. LOL Then keep away. I worked on ti to let people know who I am. If all they want is to look at a picture and throw a bit, fine. If they aren't interested in reading to get to know me, then they need not engage me in conversation ... or whatever it is they think they are doing.

I see so many profiles ... even for people who have been around quite a bit, which have maybe 3 to 5 bits of information - if any - and some overdone quote or "I live in hell" bit ... and I wonder why the time was wasted. It doesn't make me want to learn any more about the person, understand how they think. It makes me wish for that 30 seconds of my life back.

I agree with requiem .. that 30 seconds of life wasted on profiles what have nothing in them I personally vote according to content .. I dont expect a lot in there just enough to make ya interested lol ... hell I myself have very very little writing in there .. but I do tell ya how to find me .. then maybe more people will use other options in this site as well! :)
