If a family member need a body part or whatnot and u were the only donor that fit them would u give it to them?
I am donor for whomever needs my old parts (implants included)!! *LMAO*
I think it's the socially conscience thing to do; however, some people have religious ethics that would preclude them from donating.
I'd certainly be one, all except for my eyes and tattooed skin.
Yes, i would donate my body parts/blood/whatnot to a family member or almost any one who needed it... unless i didnt like them, then they could burn in hell :-D
Most certanly. if i dont need it ill give it to anyone. XD
I would, of course, even though my family members and I have our differences.
Mia casa sua casa..... it's a Moreish Buffet baby! >:)
I've already donated blood and plasma. I'm an organ donor on my ID too.
Of course..whitout no thinking..exept my Tattooed Skin...like Nara said so wise..
i plan on getting my whole back covered with inik so all other skin should be ok but i don't know if i didn't have a family the n yes with out a doubt if i had a family of my own how would i say good bye and would they be able to get back on their feet with the money i left them cuz my kids will get a big cut of my money or property not my spouce cuz i have seen where the spouce grabs alll the money and gives nothing to the kids then yes if my family was taken care of then ok take what u need and burn the rest but if i don't like the person take a pin and poke the part a couple of times give the lil shitter some time to live then boom u dead white bread lol sorry all honestly as long as i have been shown respect by the person i don't mind ill give ya whatever that person needs cuz in the end all we can take to the grave is our respect our name has gathered and our honesty
I would donate organs to help my loved ones, there is no doubt about that. I already donate blood regularly to help others who are in medical need for it at the hospitals.
I donated plasma through BCI. I got so sickly from it I'm honestly surprised I could drive to see Niles.
*sighs*
Maybe... My power is in my blood - when I loose more then 5 mililitres, I become very weak, for a while. About organs, why not? Of course except my eyes.
Well, I already carry an organ donor card, so they can take anything except my eyes, as I feel that they are very important spiritually... I dont know how to explain what I mean there!
Yes, I think it is something that I would feel morally right in doing, why prohibit the life of others when you can give one of the greatest gifts ever?
Everything on me and in me is donated after die. I've already transfer'd blood to a family member and I'll do it again! I do not give blood becuz I have tattoo's and piercings. And once the parasite is out my dragon back piece gets started :) YAY :)
I have (and still) struggle with this decision. As of now, I am not an organ donor. But I think that I should be.
I've had the paperwork sitting on my desk for the past year. I just can't bring myself to fill it out.
What bothers me about organ donation, is that part of my body would continue to exist after my soul departs. I'm not sure that's a good thing.
real question is why would you care?
sorry .. but for me it's just meat after I've left my body it's lifeless and theres nothing left to it .. hell I'd settle for being fed to a pack of hungry dogs then have a funeral!
It has to do with my belief system. As I said, the greater part of me knows that I should be an organ donor. However, I also feel there is a small chance that part of my body existing after my death could be detrimental to my soul.
If I passed and my heart went to a donor, it might act as an anchor against my soul. Tethering me to the earth plane. Now many of you may think this is a silly concept, but it is a possibility.
You could argue that the extra 20 or 30 years that the donor would hold me here would be minuscule, when held in comparison with the gift of extended life... But then my reincarnation beliefs kick in and tell me that the donor soul chose to enter the body it did (with all accompanying ailments).
well for those who said they would be u gave my grandfather more tiem to live he usta smoke 4 packs a day of cigs and had a massive heart attack he's a live they did a heart transplant on him bout 17 years ago he lives in florida and is donig fine that is the only reason besides from me needing blood when i got hit with a car those r the only reason why i would donate
so pretty much i just wanted to say thank u even though no one here gave him his heart i jsut wanted to say thank u
Hmm, that is an intriguing thought ~ I, for one never even thought about the journey of the Soul and the organs that were left behind.
Thinking of this as if from the Soul, could it be thought of as unselfish act from the Soul? Hmm, does that make sense??? Or am I up to my Irish blether again?
i would for anyone that need any thing cut me open and take it whaile it last
without question I would....it is after all the absolute proof that you care...........
*holds back his pack of wild dogs that are looking at nicnivian*
Not to sounds coldhearted, but I wouldn't be an organ donor. I just never like the thought of apart of me stayign behind within someone else. It just makes me feel uneasy...
But if it ended up going to someone you love, Janette? Niles only has one kidney, so surely I'd give him one of mine if it came down to it and I was compatible-- no other wuestions asked.
I admit Cancer you do make sense on the anchoring of the soul part. Making me think twice almost. However, I've always been a watcher for others-- even if they no longer wanted me to-- it's my nature.
If it means my soul must stay here till that person passes on, at least I'd have a hand to hold.
definitly yes. If any part of me can save someone weather I know them or not. I understand what Cancer say's, but I also feel what if it were a small child or something who's life were cut short without that organ/part? What if someone in my family needed an organ and I was not compatable, but a stranger was? That donation would mean more than anyone could phathom untill you actually go thru it. I would definatle want my family and freinds to live and if it ment giving an organ so be it. On the filp side, would you accept an organ donation if you needed one and one was available?
I'd be a donor if I didn't have so much stuff wrong with me in the first place... roflmao
I'm fallin apart. Diabetic, legally blind (w/out glasses or contacts), smoker... pcos.... man.. pretty much everything from my eyes to my toes has something wrong with it. I'm actually rather fond of the whole mummification thing. I'm claustrophobic (pardon any spelling errors there)... so I don't dig burials. Nor am I entirely keen on the idea of being burned up (yes, i know i'll be dead at the time)...
That whole embalming thing just creeps me out COMPLETELY...*squirm*.
So... I'm left with mummification. Lol.
Figures...
Serves my arrogance just fine I suppose...
Yup, and am on my DL. I figure I am no longer in need of anything, and someone else would be, so...take 'em all. With what's left over, I've told my family to sell the excess to science, and buy a Big Mac!
Don't worry Khayman, you aren't the only one in the "cannot donate" boat. Move ovah sistah and share the seat. *wink*
Doctors tend to frown on cancer survivors (even with no signs of recurrences for DECADES) donating anything - even blood or plasma (unless it was skin cancer; then they'll think about it). There are simply too many risks of transplanting or donating a mutated cell that might turn cnacerous. *shrug* So when they burn me, they'll burn all of me.
I donate blood...with difficulty...but I still donate it. I'm A pos if anyone needs any...
Well yes if it was going to someone I love... but I still don't like the idea of being cut open and apart of me being removed, regardless of the cause. I don't even know why I'm so hellebent against it, I've just had this unexplained fear of it I suppose.
If you're getting into the aesthetics of post mortem procedures, Mummification is worse than embalming in my opinion. They remove your organs. One of the tools they use is a long syringe-type device. It's shoved up your nose into your brain. Your brain is then sucked out.
I'd prefer to go by fire.
As would I, Cancer. There's just something more peaceful about it to me.
Of course I would. Especially my kidneys...I only need one and it's not like I play sports or anything. Blood, great I'd do that too. Those are really the only things I could think a family memeber would need me to give. I mean, heart they could possibly get from someone else, or I could do a John Q and I probably would too for my family or friends.
Yes i would be a donor, my family means more than anything to me because they are all i have..but i wouldnt donate anything that keeps me alive
Didn't the Eqyptians used to use a hooklike thing to go up the nose and scramble the brains until liquified? Then they'd let the goo run out. No...just dust me and launch me into orbit with Gene Roddenbury.
damnit cancer don't give me things to think about befor 11am lol
yes fire is always good !! :)
i am all about sacrificing my body for my family, they would do anything for me and visa versa
I with you Nic, I find the idea of being strung out and pecked at by carrion quite appealing; unfortunately most funeral parlors don't offer that option.
My second option, since most of my organs are already pickled, is to wind up as a cadaver at the university and have medical students peck at me.
I know they remove your organs when mummification is done. I prefer that, cause at least theyre Not gonna be left behind in order for me to be attatched to some other schmoe untill HE/SHE croaks. But the idea of being drained of my blood...and pumped with this grey, nasty-ass liquid... just to preserve me long enough for a bunch of people I havent seen in YEARS to file past and look at me and say "Oh, gee... she looks like she's sleeping..." when in fact the funeral director has managed to put Stevie wonder in charge of make up, therefor causing me to look like a dead ho.... mm-mm..no thanks kiddies. MUCH prefer to be burried in salt for X-number of days till ALMOST bone dry... fold the arms over the chest.... wrap me up and put me in something pretty. I actually have EVERYTHING planned out for my burial... now all I have to do is win the lottery or marry Donald Trump. See... most women are all about the Gucci, Prada, and D&G... *IM* all about prep on the after-party >:)
Ok, I just went back and read what I just posted.
I sounded like a sexist prick with those last few lines. Sorry 'bout that, ladies...
Not EVERY woman is all about the Gucci, Prada and D&G... I should have picked something different for that one... oh well... if I am to be slapped then I am to be slapped... but at least it's gonna be by good lookin' women-folk >:)
CHRIST I'M TERRIBLE...
>:)
I'm proud to be a donor. I have a couple of friends, well...had a couple of friends who saved thier family members by donating kidneys. I can't imagine needing something like that and not being able to get it. Like being on a transplant list. I figure being a donor is good for my kharma.
I would donate nearly every thing,i figure your dead your either going to burn or be buried so thats a waste of my beautiful organs:-)
but id keep my tattoo im getting done thats mine or what ever one of my friends want it as a rememberence of me
Speaking from experience...
When someone close to you dies, there is a part of you that needs closure no matter how elevated or enlightened you may think you are. You are dealing with loss. The only way we can say goodbye (or at least the best way) is to see the physical shell of the loved one. The only way to legally do this (except on a morgue slab), is after embalming.
Even if a corpse is to be cremated, if there is going to be a public viewing first, the corpse must be embalmed.
As you enter the funeral home your heart starts to race. You know what is about to come. You enter the doors, proceed down the hallway, and turn into the parlor. You can spot the casket from your vantage point at the rear of the room. You take a moment and breathe deeply. You begin to walk slowly. You avert your gaze to the floor, not wanting to look towards to corpse. Before you know it you're looking at the casket stand. You slowly raise your head. You think you are only moments away from bursting into tears and then suddenly....
A wave of relief washes over you. You instantly feel better. What you are looking at is not the person you loved. They are quite obviously gone. You're only looking at a distorted empty shell. Somewhere in the back of your mind you realize the embalming process has had something to do with this.
After the relief comes sadness. You begin to reflect upon your life with your loved one.
