I thought of this after having a short discussion with a fellow VR'er.
Would you chose to live one life as an immortal or Many differnt lives?
I would choose to live many lives so i could find my soulmate over and over again. It would save me from the insanity of being bored,as my soulmate for this lifetime has done.
I would choose one life. Things are easier to remember that way :-p
i would live one; fake my death every now and then; and do what i can to better the world with the eventual vast knowelde i will have obtained; as for soulmates , that is some weird ass fictional concept made up by humans
i would choose one life.... i would be able to experience, many different lives whith out having to go through the fustration of being a child again lol being able to see the worl develop around you, watch as people evolve and see if darwins theory is right lol it would be lonely, and painful watching any loved ones die, but imagine being able to say i knew so-n-so who lived 2000 yrs ago.... awesome :D
I would choose one life. I would use that long life to gain knowledge and then some more knowledge. It would be my goal to be able to say I have read "X" amount of books and just would try to use that life to it's fullest potential.
One life as an immortal. I could continue to learn and experience things without interruption, and I wouldn't have to keep going through puberty.
one life...for me. many would be too difficult to deal with and the experiences will most likely be the same in any life as you are reborn, being a baby, becoming a teenager, searching for what is not there, growing old eventually dieing, and waiting to be reborn all over again.
Immortal all the way.... At least then you can keep learning from your mistakes, insted of having to re-live them. Also this way you can jyust grow stronger and stronger, gaining vital life experinces and constantly gaining inteligence, surly this would make you as close to omnipotence as one can get.. Many lives = many problems.. as soon as you just got everything right, you'd die , then have to relive it.. Come and be immortal and immoral with me...
for me one Live in wich i enjoy every Day with all its ups and downs..
It interests me to see some of your answers to this question...
Good question, btw, Pandora...
I was discussing this in another forum and with several people here recently...
Here's my take on it, mammacita (and everyone else..hehehe)....
If you look at it there are pros and cons to BOTH sides of this coin. I myself am undecided... but here's some food for thought anyway... cause we all know I don't know how to keep my oppinions (cosmically incorrect as they are to have *smirk*) to myself....
Would you rather live many lives?
Look at this... many lives. Denotes reincarnation. Ok, I'll bite >:).. I believe in reincarnation.. the kicker is that you dont remember anything. Kinda like a computer... you can erase a file... but somewhere in that conglomeration of chips and wiring... that file is still there.
Kinda like the soul. The MIND may not remember past lives... but somewhere on the soul/spirit/whatever-you-call-it... it has been stamped.
There for... you retain the knowledge, but a good, hearty emotional bitch-slap may be necessary to bring about the recollection. Thats your downer to many lives. You may (as some of you have noted) have to consistantly relive the woes of addolescence... but the neat thing is... you dont remember the last time.
Neat trick, huh?
The groovey thing is... well... we'll get to the groovey thing in a minute.
So ya wanna live one long, everlasting life?
Mmm-kay... not a problem.
Say you are given the offer of The Gift.
What do you do? Do you jump at it? Do you say 'Gee lemme think about it?'
Unless you're Louis... you more than likely have had a chance to somewhat 'bond' with your sire. Thus giving you time to think about the payments of your choice.
If you do decide to live forever...
"Cool..." says you... "... I'll just turn all my buddies and have an everlasting kegger...."
Wrong.
More than likely, you're blood-thirsty sponsor has been at this game for several houndred years in order to be strong enough to turn one of his own brood.
You just woke up on your first night. You got a long ways to go in order to be strong enough to turn others like you.
So... on that side...
Everything you love...
EveryONE you love...
Will Die. You will watch them die. You will see everything you know fall to the sands of time before you get strong enough to turn a brood of your own.
THERE'S the biggun for living forever.
Yeah sure, you get to see everything from that point on... you get to watch the world change in a way no human could ever do... FIRST HAND.
But do you really think you could handle watching everyone and everything you have ever cared about or loved in your human life DIE right in front of your eyes?
I don't think some of these answers have been very thought through...
:)
i think one would be good, that way i could remember the things i learned and the mistakes i made, so eventually i could get it right. with multipul lives, you gotta do it over an over an over, not remembering your mistakes and geeze, talk about repitition!
Thanks Khay.I was thinking the same pros and cons when i decided this and personally i do remember too many things for me not to believe in many lives.
Soooo i guess my answer has been noted..lol.
I would have to say one immortal life. that way there is endless time to figure out how to unlock the rest of my mind that we all dont have access to. That way one day i can show the people who wish to know how to go about it and learn everything there is to know
I'd have to go along the lines of Deathisbecoming, i'd live one, and fake my own death. even though I'd see many friends perish, I think that would be better then watching my loved ones die over and over. Not that my friends aren't just as important. friends you can remake, family you can not.
Obviously, I'm eagerly awaiting the next life, but I feel that there are things I have to do in this life before I move on. I think that in each life we get a little bit better and smarter, I would like to have the edge on the next life a bit and keep the memories from the previous life/lives, but I guess that would take out the adventure a bit.
depends.. when you say immortal.. your quoting no death... if i had to continue to age then id choose many lifes... but if in immortality you mean not aging either then of course id choose one life.
I would choose immortality. But only if I where here in this world, this time I think. Because I don't to be someone else anymore. I only want to be the person now who I am, forever.
just the one life of course. thats wht immortality kinda means
immortality would mean seeing loved ones pass away time and time again. i don't know if my soul would be able to take such hammering.
If I could vividly remember EVERY past life and maintain my personality then I'd choose multiple lifes and if not then of course immortality (but gotta ask if your immortal and then the world literally ended what would you do?)
hhhmmm good question, I guess you'd have to take y'rself out...nope, better yet, go find the other immortals the enhabit the earth....as I'm sure they too would have survived
i dont know, that is a very hard choice. i could live many lives, and experiance many differnt things from many differnt stand points. but on the other hand, i could live one life and gain a vast wealth of knowledge. and thus in turn, use that knowledge that i have gained to better this god foresaken world. thats just my out look on it
lmfao Emmy! That's jus brought a smile to my half-awake face! ;)
*bows* pleased to be of service oh lovely Pixie.. I hope your day continues as it started with a smile on your face :)
one life would suffice. can you imagine all the reintroductions with all those lives? one long, wealth and knowledge producing life is the way to go.
i definately would have to agree with michaelsmalice...It would be better to have one immortal life so that you can gain knowledge and keep it, instead of having many lives and losing what you learned...
That is a tough question....I would have to say that if I had the chance to live one life and my husband lived one life as well and we could live our lives together forever then yes I would chose one life but since that is not possible..I believe I have lived other lives and will continue to do so after death. Right now I am damn happy to be living this one.
I would choose one life as that is my philosophy as far as personal goals in existence terms are concerned.
Goodness I'm having a tough enough time adjusting to this one right now, let alone try to decide one or all. How many times have I walked down the street and actually remember "That" particular person from a past life, and I KNOW that they do not remember me, or know me from a hill of beans.
Let me get this one at least half right before I choose one, the other, or both. *wink.
ive have already lived many my soul is very old ---so one as an immortal
