Can vampires love a mortal? Is it thesable and what vampires in history loved a mortal without changing them to an immortal, besides Angel and Buffy and Buffy and Spike?

i believe that if two people care for and love each other that it shouldn't matter what the circumstances...whether they are both male or both female...or mortal and immortal...it shouldn't matter as long as they love each other...

LOVE is so over rated........seems like people have forgotten the actual meaning of the word....

love is an overused word for an under expressed emotion.

it's so easy to say " i love you " without providing any type of validation to the sentence

Of course they could love one another. There is something to keep in mind, there was a time that it was forbidden. If a vampire fell in love with a human he or she would have to either turn the other or be banished from the coven, if a member, or lose his or her territory.

Better to fall in love and keep it to yourself, rather than announce it and suffer the consequences.

hmmmm poses an interesting question *ponders* i'm finding the same dillema with my story hehehehehehe though i believe they can, though i would say not to sire the one they loved would be terrible for them, to what them grow old and die..... *ponders the idea*

at the age of * gets out fingers and counts* hehe I still sit and wonder what love is. I know I have loved. know I will love. Sometimes I feel like its nonexistant. I think that falling in love with a person for who they are and not because they are mortal or immortal , male or female makes some difference. With each difference there is a new experience. I hope that makes sense *ponders*

sure you can "Love" someone but then again if you truly want that person ... then you would be "IN LOVE" with them :P

...considering a vampire's heightened state of *everything*, i would think it extremely difficult not to fall in love with mortals. and why not? and why just mortals? hmmm?

Stavrogin....why couldn't a Vampire love a mortal through immortality....my father still loves my mother though he's been dead for 28 years...he's never remarried, I believe mostly due to how much he truly loves her....my grandmother and aunt still ove their husbands though they too have long since passed on...

To say "vampire could love a mortal, but not for a long time...mortal must die sooner or later... " just because a person dies doesn't mean that you have to stop loving them...furthermore, just because you divorce or break up with someone...being mortal or immortal doesn't mean that you will always stop loving them...

Why couldnt a vampire love a mortal, then again why would they want too? They would live and the mortal would pass unless they made them like them and if they didnt make them they would watch them grow old and pass. I can only imagion the pain and i could not bare it personally

I think vampires and humans can love each other because if the love is true nothing really matters.

i think vampire can love mortals but whatever happens will happen love comes and goes days come and go but love may one day reign supream but then again we all have had crushes and puppy love and things of that nature do we ever really know true love or just attachement

Vampire's can love mortals, I love mortals but we do not have sexual fealings for them we just love them because of their heart and sweet blood and innocence. they walk around not knowing of their fateful death.

I don't know what to think.. For I know I love someone.. I do not believe that he is mortal.. and more offten than not.. I believe that when we are together our power is awesome.

Maybe the Question should be... Can a Mortal Love a Vampire, i mean, they could only date at night! Have to avoid alot of restraunts. Could'nt introduce them to your folk and friends for the fear of him/her killing them.. never go on holiday with them.. then they would ditch you after 10 years or so, for a younger model, because you have gotten old and they not.. the list really is endless....

I would say yes an immortal could love a mortal I love my pets and they always die eventually not one has out lived me yet the love I feel is simialar to the love an immortal can have for an immortal just because they do not live as lon I still love my pets

I'm with Dhampir on this one! I like the question that way... I think love of any kind is possible... it just depends how much the vampire and the mortal want it to work!
