The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

It seems my latest round of updates/optimization are holding up. The server has been taking a pounding the last few nights, and things seem to be moving pretty well. There have been moments of lag, but overall, I am pleased with the results.

I've noticed that for the most part, from the user end, site speed has been going rather well, also. :) Thanks!

I've noticed a huge difference when pages are loading.. Great job..

honestly I can't tell the difference now. I just got dsl today so its going really fast for me..

I base everything upon my own baseline, which is a 3 mbit/sec connection. If a page takes longer than 2 seconds, that's too long... That page needs to be optimized. Ideally, all pages should load in under 1 second.

For the last couple of nights, even during our most busy periods, page generation has hung around 1.5 - 2 seconds.

i am rather impressed with the speed the pages load here..alot better than some sites..you have really done a good job with it..thanks^^v^^

About 20 hours ago I made further modifications to the VR Server. Website response times have greatly increased.

I'm hopeful these latest modifications will hold up.

I agree with Kitty.. this site does load faster at night then during the day.. perhaps its because there are less people on?

I think everything looks great. I can't wait to try it at home, (which is only dial up and an old comp) and that will be the true test in my book. But everything looks awesome. You rock.

I haven't been a member to tell if there was an increase in speed, but I can say that pages are loading fairly fast on my computer. I thank you for providing this site for us and keeping it so... well kept.

Worried... Is it my Pc.. which is only 2 yrs old, bang up to date running internet connection speed at 2.2MB. For some strange reason, the pictures in peoples profiles, are taking forever to load? Is this a problem on the site? HELP

I'm working on some stuff at the moment.

Mine to Dhamp but I think it has to do with y'r over all server speed in combination to the speed of the site, and the number of people on here. Also more and more people are adding JPG's and GIF files which those take time to load depending on the size of the images ...

Cancer has kindly informed me, that it is due to work that he is undertaking as we speak. so not to worry, everything should be fine by the morning. ( i did not want people to visit my profile and think what a loser programmer i was,lol) Thanks once again Cancer... Hope the improvements go without many glitches...

Probably just my pc but i keep loosing this place. My pc just says it has no server.

Yeah, I have notced that...

That could just be when cancer is working on the site or the server is just too busy as you try and log on.
