Well its been a few months snice i posted new idea for vampirerave. but with the sci fi site out by the end of the mont i was wondering what ideas you guys have for the dark network. for me i want to see a better IM system. And also for Pm memberships not be able to force induct. And also hoping to see links in the main menu to differnt sites of the dark network.

How about an IM system based on contacts from your friends list like yahoo or msn.

Also coven forum posts going towards your total post count aswell.

I want to see the games back on! I know they're still there, but now that they're not worth favor nobody really plays them. I miss my 5x5x5 :( lol damn people havin' to cheat x_X Oh man, Boggled was so fun.

Im voting for the 5x.That is one of my fav games ever.

Premium Memberships do not force induct...The Coven/House Masters Induct members.

The scifisection is already up, Cancer is still working on a couple areas of the site, but most of the site is functional. You can also find links to different Dark Network sites at the bottom of the scifisection page.
As for your other ideas... No comment. ;P

I really do not notice any difference in the speed of IM messages between here and yahoo or any other messenger. If you set your sound notification "on" you will notice how quick the system is. We also have private chat rooms were you can communicate with other people and all at once. What more do you want?

Boggled still exists on Vampire Rave, you cannot earn favour anymore but it is good to play games for fun instead of gain at times too. :)

Earn favor in games again. Better messaging. Sometimes it sticks on my end & takes forever to load up.
Have a say in the people who wants to add us as friends. Have the chance to accept or not instead of having unknown "friends" we don't know.

I like the IM idea. It would make conversations faster.

Even though we no longer are able to earn favor for the games ,we still earn favor for time spent, so in a sense , we are earning favor for the time that we are here.

I found that when rating the database that under the book section there were several short stories rather than books listed and think maybe that could be listed as a category all in itself so that the book section isn't so long.

I would like to see creative forums, based on developing imagination pools for writers, and entertainers (I know your out there).

I would love to see a new IM system.
I like the idea of force induction, so it should stay.

I used to think that it would be a good idea to count Coven posts towards our rating; however, I have reconsidered. The one reason is, should a Coven disband, all posts would be removed and if a great many of your posts do come from the Coven it might make a huge difference in your rating. This might be critical to those who are at the Sire Level.

As for the friend list, it would be nice if we could send a request to to person asking to be added; that person can either deny or approve. I currently have 48 people who have added me to their list--30 of them I have no idea who they are and have never even spoken to.

I vote for all these ideas, but coven forums counting for gen forum posts, and the games counting for favor

I have an idea. have art contests where people submit comics and art and the prize is having that art featured in its own section, and get bragging rights and maybe a hat or premium membership.

oh yes the art and comics are vampire rave related of course.

I would like to see favor brought back, and have 5's back in but without favor as to keep people from being dishonest about it. Instead of rating 1-10, have it be a bit more detailed for the rater and then have it score out between a 1-10? Kind of like a grading system so people start getting rates that are a little closer to reality rather than just rating everyone a ten, well at least in theory. I think the Vamp box is fine, I haven't had a chance to really play with the vr chat system yet though, which I am excited about.

A database that can be searched by medium, author, director, writer, year, cast, etc.

I can agree with that. I have too many people n my friends list that I don't even know.

I would also like to see a better Message system, and I would like the games to be for favor again, like they were before, though I doubt that will ever happen.

5's needs to be brought back from the dead. I miss that game, there needs to be a better system to stop the cheating.

Maybe more powers for PMs, as there has been a few rumors going around that there are to be new things but nothing has materialized yet!

Some more coven games/contests that are inter coven, say like two or three covens take part! a few ideas there!

I think that's a good idea too. Anything that gets the covens and houses interacting with one another would be nice.

I am with Molly, a chance for writters to post short stories, and receive critical, and constructive review would be a good thing to consider.. I know there are journals however a page/forum for Genre based writers, and those that are just creative with with Noir topics to share without tolitarian believers scuttling the discussion.

I would like to see something that would prevent people from rating or commenting on your profile/portfolio more than twice. After the re-rate, they would not be able to rate you anymore. This might make people give a little more thought to what and how they rate things, since they won't be able to change it.

Why people rate the same profiles over and over is a mystery, as well as a waste of time.

I liked the suggestion of any rating under a five having to be followed with an explanation as there are a few who give 1's to those who work hard on their profiles and do not deserve those ratings. I was given a 1 by an individual and when I messaged that person as to why he did he told me no reason..he rates everyone that way.

I'd just like to see the Unrated option come back. But Cancer has more important things to do. So I can wait.

Yes I know that we can block those individuals and even with an explanation I don't think it would totally stop but I think some would be less inclined to rate that way if they have to explain why they did it.

This is very true Ade and I do feel it would make for a better VR though. People come here to get away from all the drama and upset and do not need it here.

I think it is fine that we are able to rate more than once.

When a member first arrives at VR, I automatically do a rating and leave a welcoming message. Most new members have not had the time to complete the look of their profiles and might need some help before their profile is presentable for a true rating. Since I cannot give a new (or any) member who has a profile that is incomplete or with just a few lines a 10, I will often return at a later time and upgrade my rating once some more work has been done. As well, quite a few members are always updating their profiles and ask you to return to re-rate them.

Also I think that when we are new to VR and rate profiles we might rate something differently than we do once we get to know how VR works. After I was here for a while, I saw how others did their profiles and rated and was able to come up with a pretty fair rating system.

Other reasons people might to return to a profile is to update the comments yet keep the rating the same and to re-rate when they are at a higher status where their rating has more weight.

Thank you PsiVamp for that post as I feel that is why most people go back to re-rate profiles several times.

Another reason is that for some of the higher levels after they have rated profiles in the general mainstream may go to a coven to show their respect by rating all of the coven members of that particular team.

I agree having the unrated function working again would be great. I will help to get the profiles and portfolios that are suspended without having to trawl through 1000's of pages to find them once they become unsuspened.

Ade, there have been alot of posts in here that say the same thing. Forum posting on the covens should be a direct link to earning favor but also leveling up. However you cannot any more level up with forums As this has been rewritten, Which is far enough as forums should be enjoyed, to descuss matters and have fun not to level up! Bring back the games and lets see some more new things soon eh? Is what i say!

What about someway for members to search for oter members in their state or city etc? I think it would be a really cool and valuable thing.

im not sure if it has or hasnt buti would like to see the unrated section up and running again, every time i use it i just get w ahite screan, then i can go on a rateing rampage like the good old days ^^

A restriction on the image size of a stamp.SOME members use WAY too big stamps that either take uphalf the length of the page or stretchs the width.

i would also like to see custom css code for the covens news, members, forum pages. this will make it so much better cause it would go with the coven style and seperated from the dark networks public forums

I also think it might be a good idea if you were unable to rate the profiles of levels 1 - 4, to give them chance to do something with it without getting downrated because they're new. Doing so might also stop a lot of revenge rating; most of the ones I've had came from members I rated months or years ago when their profiles were newer and empty.
