Do vampires favor Virgins blood more to any other blood????? ive seen some movies were they look for virgins or they just stright suck anything that comes past them??? lil help??

That's just Hollywood nonsense. It makes the vampires more sinister, and potentially more seductive.

"Once Bitten" with Jim Carrey poked fun at that requirement with noting how hard it was to find a virgin in the 90's (late 80's?)

The implication being that a virgin's blood was purer. Potentially only Elizabeth Bathory enjoyed this treat... and even that was not a necessity.

Well, I always thought that they preferred any blood. A virgin's blood is pure and sweet but a sinner's blood should have more flavor to it. I would think.

OK, now, calm down. It's a fair question, as it has been in many films, or explicitly required or implied by the choice of victims in the films and TV.

The old, sinister, male vampires going after young maidens, often betrothed to another. I hate to say it, but Dracula started the trend, by Drac going after Mina. Even Lucy was a virgin, even though she did not act like it in some versions of the story.

I have read of Vampire feeding off other than humans, such as rats, but thats a last resort, they would need to drink alot of rats, not worth the time and effort.. Vampire will drink blood from any human, thats for sure, mainly adults becasue they have the msot blood in their body, so by feeding of adults, they need to feed less and have a less chance of being caught. fact a babies has only one cup of blood in its body when it is bron, the avg human has around 10 pints,... Also, there is no substitute for human blood!!. None!!

What about the mythology around such other beings like, Unicorns? Didn't they favor virgins? in the same game they say quality matters. obviously a healthy diet would be good for the blood. but a hooker living a bit rough. or a hobo with a bad diet would have bad blood. and virgins of the past (like mina and lucy in dracula) would be well brought up and have good blood. so it could've started with that.

Ok, to be completely un-PC (like that's ever really bothered me), the whole virgin's blood thing may involve the thrill of the chase and subsequent acquiescence (or refusal), followed by either a little despoiling or deflowering.

I have to agree with you Req' it's the chace that made itso popular. It is also a way for (in older tells) to keep youngsters in at night and to keep them frm getting into trouble and being caught, ruining reputations, etc. Just one more legend to add to the books.

     Well this is what they taught me in *shudders* my Catholic school. In the clergy of Roman Catholics never marries and must stay as a virgin. You know, celibate... because sex is also a spiritual thing transfering your metaphysical powers to each other therefore conjuring new life & soul... No I'm not here to talk about the RNA transcript or how DNAs are formed. What I'm telling you is about the mystery of giving birth to a being with a rational soul.

     A clergy celibates to contain that power within himself to be able to be a mediator of God and man. To represent God to Man and vice versa and to do three task as a prophet, a king and a priest. A prophet to explain and give the Word of God; A king to be of servitude to others; and A priest to to do his holy duties of baptizing, giving penance, consecrating the wine and bread to be the blood and body of Christ... and other sacrament etc...

     Forgive me, I forgot to draw my conclusion. You can read my earlier posts above.

     For the clergy to be able to do his work as a minister (priest, prophet and king just like Jesus Christ had done) he needs to have that metaphysical and spiritual power by whole. Those people, who chooses to have a mate and does have sex, gives half of those powers to be able to procreate a soul and the body which it will reside. Half is taken from both parents to create a complete full-fledged soul. So the parents' powers lessens when they er... mate, because the child takes it. One proof of this is that parents have shorter lifes span than those unfortunate bachelors... that is why people say virginity is a specail gift you give someone you love, because you are willing to give up that power just for your mate though some people never knew that. Therefore virgin blood is priceless not only purity but also within that blood holds the metaphysical and also spiritual power that resides in each and every one of us.

     Hello Crazywolf, yes you have a point there... my answer is its all in their state of mind. Some people think procreation is invigorating (Forgive me, I never had the guts to say s** again) and also doesn't physical activities give endorphines to the mind? If some people think that procreation is their way of freedom it heightens their spiritual and mental powers to go on further... just like determination it puts you beyond your limits... I honestly do not prefer the blood of a human, virgin or not. For one it has to high a salt content. Basically it tastes like drinking a V8 or just straight tomato juice. I would rather feed on someones sheep then say a shepard's virgin daughter.
