Death is usally assciated with the death of a body. but what about the soul, mind, and heart? just because they stop running doesn't mean they are actually gone, or we wouldn't have such things as "spirits" now would we?
The soul is believed to go to a heaven or a hell, or sometimes it recarnates itself depending on religous veiws. but what if all humans were wrong, and there was no hell nor heaven and we didn't recarnate? what would happen? Would be just vanish or just... stay alive in our graves, even though our body has died and is being eaten away.

I think that there are different types of death's..

1. brain dead = vegetable
2. heart dead = you know..
3. soul dead = no faith
4. lifeless = physical death
5. DEATH = you just stop existing.. that's sadd..

maybe you do go to heaven or to hell, but I belive 99% heaven and 1% hell, because nobody and I mean NOBODY deserves an eternity off fire and paine...

when it comes to death, if it is what you think is real, then that is what will happen to you.

I once believed that when your body dies ..that is it...your subconcious the part that learns and is shaped by your environment..the part that makes you you would die also of course...and no spirit existed...however I have seen and witnessed and am experiencing in my own day to day life right now...far too many things to dismiss the existance of a soul....I am heavily into the idea of past lives ...erm....reincarnation that's it......and the idea of certain people always being with you through each life time...I must admit my husband and I have known each other at least once if not many times previous to this life...bizarre!!.....YAY!!!

So death to me is a stepping stone to another life....I don't believe in a heaven or a hell...even though my Catholic upbringing creeps in every now and again and plays havock with my theories occassionally...but I am workin on it ....LOL

It all depends on your beleifs.Everyone has the right to think of death as he/she wants.

I believe in ghosts,cause I've got expiriences.As for re-incarnation I almost do,altough sometimes I've got my doubts.As for heaven and hell I don't believe they exist but I don't deny the possibility of an underworld which is in two parts:for evil and good spirits.

Anyways when I'll die I'll come and tell you the truth;)

there has to be something after, if not I never ever want to be consious of that fact, i would rather die thinking there is more

Death is something that happens to all people once in there life. Some die due to health reasons, accidents, and suicide. You in a round about way choose your own death. What happens after that is all imagination.

Heaven and hell is a case in interpretation...and I do think it depends on your own view of both...

Some people see hell as a good place to go to and heaven a bad place...its a mind set situation...

I believe that the when you die the spirit is set free and entwines with the one you truly loved in your life...and remain together in peace, then are reaincarnated in a human shell again....

to me a soul will never die for it will continue this cycle. I mean yeah one may stop believing in having a soul but that doubt seems to me as part of the minds choice to mask the idea of having one. i do think the brain does die like someone mention vegetable but as for the soul i believe it somehow goes on thats why one can say you have the essence of your granfather in you and so on.

i believe you only feel true freedom with death. your soul is trapped in a body but once that body can't contain your soul anymore than you will have true freedom.

I think it would depend upon ones faith. There are some that believe that if you do not go to "heaven" or "hell" or even reincarnation, then you shall become a spirit that stays upon the earth.

Also, some believe Earth is Hell and that when you fufill what you were deemed to do you go to Heaven after death. Though it would be what they themselves find peace and comfort, not always big white clouds and pearly white gates.

But then again, others believe there is no such thing and that you are only capable of going heaven or hell.

I believe that if you die in heart soul or mind, it means it is gone from your physical being, then like sweetbloodtears says, it does depend on ones faith. I believe if you lose your mind or heart in your physical apperance it will be gone from you in spirit. Hence why some spirits are insane like some people are in their physical form.

The soul of course is, Immortal...and yes, it'll go on forever...

You know what? If you'd ask other people about death, they'd probably tell you "how the hell should I know? I've never been dead??"

I refuse to believe, the energy of my love, hate, happiness, sadness, and rage will vanish in an instant of my bodies death... the energy of thought and emotions is too great i believe to just.... vanish...

I wish i knew, i have seen people die in front of my eyes and in my arms. I still believe they are still living.

ok this is a "what if question" which i dont think needs to be answered aless u dont believe in heaven or hell and i do so i dont have to worry about this

when it is my turn to die. my soul will be reliesed and return to Gia and there she will take all my exsperances, thoughts, Ideas and feelings and send me back into this world to gather more for her

that is how i assume it is minus the spirit part. i just think that when you die you no longer are anything at all, you just rot away.

There are many valid points to be had in this thread....I believe where you go in the afterlife reflects on your actions in the normal life....If you were a twisted and psychotic abomination then you will be judged and sent somewhere accordingly....But I feel strongly that one's soul doesn't simply rot into the abyss and oblivion....It persists....Achieving in their new life what they didn't in their previous one....It's in human nature to wonder things beyond their mortal ability....It's just the way it is...

one does no die if thier essense remain on this earthly plane. for example people jesus. martin lutrher king and so on. thier body is gone but thier teaching etc... live trough us so therefore are imortal souls

wow so many entries in this one for being so new. good question.I just want to die gracefully if thats possible. No one knows how to do it because no one has died and come back to teach us. I hope when I die there is more, but not more of this. Imagine going through puberty again.. yuck. I believe you go on to a higher plane, continuing a journey and this just being like high school when your taught how to live in the next role. This is a complex question with so many religious views . But my thought is that there is something after this life now. Whethere it be heaven, hell, or even the astral plane. I just know that there is something else after this mortal life.

All these points and views are great. it was just a question to everyone, I have my own views, and then again I don't believe anyone truly dies. I believe in a god. but i don't believe that you go straight to heaven or hell after death. I believe you have a destiny and if you do not achieve that destiny and conquer what you were meant to you are reborn, until you do finish that. But no one truly knows or sure. Then again perhaps being a ghost and looking on the living could be hell enough for some.

First of all I don't want to make this a religion thing....but....I have to scoff and laugh at all the time wasted on that subject....I mean really what if there is really nothing after this...then all that time was wasted on becoming something that is unattainable...I can definitely see where that time can be better used....

I think that some people will stay here and walk on earth for eternity when they die and others will pass on to some infinity. But that's just my point of view....some people believe that when u die u just exsist not going anywhere.

I think death is only determinded by the person who is supposedly dead because you can only die if you let yourself.

for me, death is a total loss of existence. death only happens when no trace off you is anywhere. this includes the memories of people, books, media.....so on. when a body dies, to me, the person inside of it just comes back. not reincarnation, just a continual existence until death. how is comes or if it does, i do not know.

I think that the reason we have so many theories about where we go after 'death' is because the human mind cannot cope with the prospect of becoming a non-entity. Lets admit it... nothingness frightens us.

brain dead = vegetable. These sometimes are the people you can look at and just know that they are trapped inside thier own body and wish not to be there. Soul dead people you can see it in thier eyes. They seem so lifeless. Almost empty.

Sometimes I think death is thought of way to much. Why try to ponder over something that there is no real answer for. We don't know until we actually get there. We can be told by psychics and meduims about the other side. But, until we see it for ourselves we will always question.

Deadnitegrl - I agree with having your own beliefs but also being open-minded about others as well.

People we've meet in person and raely over other means (ie: phone, internet ect..) we feel that we've met them before and @ times we would know all about them and we feel so comforable around them and can't explain why.
My dear we have met them before, not of that same body but of the same spirit, energy signature, chi, however you call it,

With a portion of ourselves that only knows how to feel and sense more so then what the body can really feel.

as for death, yes we die but its only in body form, our esscense continues to grow and absorb the knowledge that the mind of the body has learned. So it can grow and surpass its limits and evolve into a greater being of what...well i have yet to acheive that point but when i do i will let you know. >:D

My dear I've mentioned in my profile that my weight is as of being 21oz technally 36oz but that's including the waste...yuck! >:P

(21oz. is the weight that the body loses when it dies, your spirit/chi/soul becomes detached from this form to be able to pursue a new form, whatever the spirit wants to experence, being a plant / animal / human/ ailen /or deside to roam in a spectre form.)
