what is the "old" way of the vampire..i mean is there even one i was wondering cause tv has warped the vampire soo much so like is the vampire thats on tv the "new version" .....wats going on with all there theries of vampires!!!!

look back to the origanal dracula book there is the old way

after the first movie came out ppl just started thing hmm this is kool lets make em turn into mist or bats or wolves or sumthin crazy with all the drugs out today theyre just gonna keep gettin weider and weirder

Ya know maybe if you had an open mind and watch EVERY type of Vampire movie you'd get a better understand (I personally like the black and white ones I own about 300 of them!! lot of indie films included)

Nicnivian, i think i'm fourthing what you said, the black and whites are the best, but you have to add in the silents too.

vampire lore it seems has to change, in order to keep the public interested in it an BUYING there product weather its tv or in the movies, the real way of the vampire is very privit, other wise the generial public would know of are presents, an lets face it that would take all the mystery out of Vampires

Vampires were originally those that had been wronged at the time of their death. It was usually a burial thing: not burying the dead properly. It was believed that they could not go on to the afterlife and so came back to get revenge on their family for their perceived crime.

Everyone has his and her opinions about vampires hehe.

I suppose the "old way" you are talking about as in media "old way" would be the first ever vampire movie.. so take a look at that!

most people now dont bother with the old ways, they think that the new movies out are the way to act and be a vampire, dress in leather and all that, though i personally do own a leather trench coat but nevermind.

i think some of the old ways are better than the new things coming out left, right and centre.

The old ways have very much been forgotten. Tis a shame really. The old ways were what based everything now. But people are too obssed with what is new than what is past. To find the old ways you would need to seek an ancient one or really do some research. And best of luck with that..

Who's to say what the "old ways" were? There are books that tell tales and other belief's as to who or what something is, or events that took place .. there is some debate as to who the "oldest" Vampire is even where they came from .. as WE weren't alive then I believe that all tales lie in what a person personally believes in ...

well,vampire is eternal so there cant or shouldnt be any new version of vampire...

the 'old vampire' is dead, as humanity has evolved as has the vampire. Time creates change, its inevitable.

not all of the old way is dead just very hard to find and i agree with most above that what people thank of vampires is a travesty that we are animals intent on hurting,killing, just for the sake of it

Stoker must have taken from another theory... I dont think we can really say that that is where it started. The myths and legends go way back through time, and those such as Elizabeth Bathory could be considered as 'vampires.'

i think it all depends on doing your research, and making your own decisions.

There is no 'better vampire', and there is no 'old vampire'. It's just the concept of the human kind about vampires that changes. Science gave men new tools to try to explain vampiria. That's the junk you see in the new movies. But the true vampires will be the same unexplained beings. The ultimate predator, at top of the food chain, The seducer, the dark wonderer. Those shall live forever.
