as far as i know, there are some vamps that have a major superiority complex, is this normal? or is that just in this area?

From what I was told it is normal...That is all I can say...

There are so many types of vmapires here, and it seems to me that some feel that its a birthrite, and that they are somehow better than the rest of us for that reason.

im not saying ALL im just saying SOME.

There is always status fights on the intetnet, Im sure that we have all seen it everywhere, and this place is no exception.

Its just learning to be able to ignore it, or fight within it, its your choice.

Some yes....they believe they are the wolf and we are their cattle. The others who pity us because of our short years. Then their are ones who feel nothing and then they are the ones who think we are beautiful and wish to be mortal. I don't know why. Its a complex issue.

In the vampyric creed (which is in my journal under stories)(its the only entry there) it say that we worship our egos... so maybe that answers your question

Most vampires, and I believe it mentions it in the creed as well, believe that in their own little world, they are God... because they choose who lives and who dies...

perhaps that's a bit more fictional, but it all leads to the general behaviors of any one group...

In Portugal we have a saying that goes something like that: "self-conceit and holy water, each can take how much they want".

i do believe that there are people like that in all races.

at times I feel the arrogance,but I usually just shrug it off. But there are just arrogant vampires out there.

Vampyres do generate such thoughtd and feelings, but learning to control them and humility are also strong chracteristics.

I would also say that there are people here who do not consider themselves vampyres, yet feel that they are superior to the rest.

Ever thought of the idea that it could also be the other way around? I mean, maybe people chose to call themselves or identify with vampires as a result of a vanity complex or out of sheer arrogance.

I think since they have many more abilites than us, they do think themselves superior. I wouldnt say all of them are, some are just low life, but most are pretty smart and others are just to arrogant (sp?).

It is inevitable. Just as we "thumb" our noses down at the lesser beings (anything less human such as apes, dogs, etc), vampires do the same to us.

We are not on top of the food chain - they are. So, why the hell should they take pity upon us, or treat us as equal beings?

Perhaps it is more contempt than superiority. I find humanity taxing to the point of exhaustion. Silly squabbles and petty rivalries seem to fill people's time. But I am not so callous and arrogant to believe that every person fits this...stereotype I've created. While I still retain this notion for the whole of mankind, I know that individuals out there are not stupid and are willing to learn just as much as I am willing to learn. Stupidity irritates me, but ignorance is always with us. We can never quite know everything and I understand that which allows me to continue to hope. Although it may be a bitter illusion, it keeps me from becoming completely cold hearted.

I'm human .. and when I'm around someone I truly believe is a vampire, I feel like their superior to me... like I'm lower...

sorry, i don't know. i don't know many vamps to know, but i think it matters on the personality of the vamp. If they don't like being a vamp, then they probably think humans are above them, if they do like it, then they probably think that they are better. And you have to look at other stuuf in their personality, like if they even like humans...etc...But this is just one persons opinion. You should see wat every1 says, then compare, or the best thing to do is to ask a few vamps with completely different personalities. Then you might be able to figure it out.

Its not exactly Superiority as it is class of Wills.

The thing is, even though the Vampyric condition is just as it is, a Condition, we tend to have a stronger connection to the Predator aspect then most. Mainly do to survival tendencies in regards of feeding. In the Strigoi Vii teachings the Predator aspect is known as the Dragon, a serpent which eats its tail, making an endless loop, which one can realize is our existence with the beast.

We tend to be more territoral over certian aspects of our lives, like loved ones, donors, and home. Those who come off as big shots are trying to show dominence, yet, then some times there are those who are arrogent to believe themselves better then others and do it just because they feel like it, not because it just happens and they didn't realize it.

Superiority complex does not actually have to do much with being vampire or not.... you could be anyone... if you just stick it into your head that you are actually better.... and you really convince yourself... then your whole attitude and outlook on life will change! Maybe with vampires it's easier for them to consider themselves superior cause of the way they live life (i said they cause I definately don't do it!)

Nature is abundant with examples of superior and inferior beings of the same species! After all according to the evolutionary theory...the strongest and the fitest survive. This method guarantee the evolution and the welfare of the species! Vampires are part of nature so why should be different?

Like it or not there are class levels, some higher than others. I refuse to believe that I am "equal" to someone who rapes and mutilates children or animals.

I believe the Vampire "complex" emerges from the same thinking. Humans (remember I mean most) refuse to embrace higher thinking, in many areas of life. Humans do things that are viewed as vulgar, beneath Vampires. Leading to the belief that by behaving as a lesser you become less.

I guess its how one is taught as well. I was never mentored, so I never got that cockiness, besides, if I did, I would have dropped it rather quick, there tends to be to many at my work with that attitude and it irritates me so much.
