What is it to you and what do you think is untrue about it?
ok let me put it this way how many here live the life as I do online and off line and what and how do you live it whats it to you.
To me, it is a concept.
Something that I have had to deconstruct from all the various theories and opinions and the facts of my own experience.
And then recreate based on my understanding of the information that has been presented to me.
What I find untrue, is the continued insistance that vampires cannot be 'made'.
I find that there are a number of differing definitions on what constitutes a 'vampyre'.
I beleive that a vampyre can be made through massive damage to the system of energy that binds a person together.
Not only that, but a severe psychological trauma can cause a born vampyre soul to awaken to itself.
And that these are valid definitions.
What I also find upsetting, is that we have to hide what we are for the sake of others.
I cannot really be me offline any more...with my freinds, I cannot talk of the same things as I do here, yet I am still expected to be 'me'.
There is great frustration, as I face ridicule and exile from the people that I care most for.
So, now I live life online as an expression of this dark side...
I go to places and talk of things inside me that I have never been able to consider before and this helps to shape me.
But the core of me, my humour, my honour, my sense of ethics remain the same.
The way I am on here and the way I am at home are two different things...First I only want people who know me to know what I am, or am about...
I love it. It is a chance to be you and have people understand you and actually take you seriously...
All I can say is, I am who I am. I'm a vampire who lives a fairly normal life. I eat, sleep, work, pay taxes and vote. For me, that's life. Everything else is just a nice interlude.
i am a vamp online and at school (high school senior) but i dont get very into it other places cuz well my whole fammily is christian so i dont feel like being shunned
My mother is a Psi as well. We keep most of it to ourselves. It is easier that way.
Thats was an excellent post STABB, and I agree with an awful lot of what you said there.
-I personally believe that vampires are not what we see in films and books.
-They are not a totaly different species to humans.
-They are not a race superior to humans, like a lot of people on the site think they are.
- It doesn't mean that you have to be part of a clan or house to gain respect.
-They are not Lestat and his buddies :-)
-They are not "made" and it is not a "birthrite."
I believe vampirism goes something along this state (including what Stabb has already mentioned....)
-A medical condition in some sences, but hardly all.
-A heightened perspective on the world around us and those that surround us.
-A sensitivity for energy, and the ability to use your sences more than you think you can.... and aving teh patience to learn to do so.
- Learning, and being willing to learn.
- To have the maturity to accept others for who they are.
- To be INDIVIDUAL in your approach, and for that not to scare you.
- For it to make you happy in a way that only vampirism can.
- For it not to be a strict rulebook where we all have to be the same.
- For it to be something that you love and are committed to, but it doesn't take over your entire existence, with room for nothing else.
I could tell you all that I drink human blood, and that I absoarb energy from others and the environment, and use meditation to help me get better at my skills, and more in touch with whats arond me, and you could call me:
"a vampire."
Then I could tell you that Im a Theatre Student, vegetarian, bissexual, who talks to animals.... and you could all laugh at me, and tell me that Im
"Not a vampire."
If anyone saw my last thread, you would of seen me clearly being "bashed" for being a vegetarian.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHO WROTE THE RULEBOOK?
As I would like to give them a good slapping about.
To me, its INDIVIDUAL... and I respect that element in everyone, although it's often taking offensively when I try to discuss it... in reality, I suppose I dont really care what anyone thinks.
don't let a belief and a way of life become your only life.
I don't believe that if you tell everyone that you're immortal, are 1000 years old, kill people for survival,is Dracula etc,etc... you are following a vampiric lifestyle!
Honestly I don't respect people like this, nor they're going to impress me.
Living a pretty normal life here, 12th grade and all. I only reveal what I am to people who I can trust and will respect it. But I do find the night so invigorating........ yess......
in general, the vampire life for me is wonderful (aside from that giant fireball in the sky of course!) and I enjoy it.
the vampire life?
you mean the movie-vamp life?
the hollywood-life?
no thanks... i'll just stick to my regular days of hugging my girlfriend in bed for half an hour each morning, looking for a job, playing computer games and having a couple of vampiric tendancies.
that'll do me just fine.
Hands down to Stabbb and Echo.
I'm still trying to figure out this little part of me that I can't really discuss with other people. I still have a lot to learn, and being 'dorment' for so long, I admit that I'm not doing very well in the "not scare my self about it" part. But I hope to get there, as I believe that all things happen in due time.
Now, what I think is untrue, is the obvious folklore about coffins and garlic and silver blah blah, I guess we went over this in a lot of threds.
I'm more into the concept that a 'vampire' is a person (not a supreme-being) with abilities and flaws. Energetic abilities and flaws.
You used a very interesting term the other day, I guess it was "energetically challenged", right? Well, I guess that's waht vampirism is all about. Life-style is another thing, and, curious fact: If you pose as one and don't state that you are a vampire, a lot of people think you're cool, but if you don't pose, nor use fangs or what ever and state you are vampire, everybody will say you're nuts..Human mind..what a riddle..
Fantastic post TearsOfAkariel.
It's always god when a person can be candid about who and what they are. If you would ike to discuss the matter with me at all, then feel free to message me :-)
hhmmm? i would think that if it cant be like it is in the movies, than its not all its cracked up to be. im not a vampire so who knows.
Echo as usual you post an excellent and insightful reply.
no not the movie bull. I am vampyric no I won't live forever no crosses don'tfreak me out. but yes to the energy feeding and blood drinking. to me any one who says they are like 10 yrs.old is full of shit unless they are talking about there soul I do believe that that can be vampyric and live on in a vampyric state and be reborn.
Not saying that, that is the only way to be vampyric but it is known to be how most of us emember past lives and being vampyric. and as far as Vampyres no one on this site can say they dont exiest cause there are many things that just are.
so if some one comes at you saying youra fake cause thet dont believe look some here are fake and some here are real but tend to stay in the shadows cause of people with small minds and big mouths. now this is not to any one here so dont take it personal if you do then there is a reason you feel you are being attacked and should look in the mirror before saying something to hurt someone
sorry to steal stabbs words.
What I also find upsetting, is that we have to hide what we are for the sake of others.
I felt I was being attacked because I was being attcked.
You have your beliefs and I have mine. You believe that things "just are" and I believe that a lot of them "just aren't."
I dont like it when the word "fakes" is used... it really doesn't help people feel comfortable with others around here.
It’s a lifestyle, a culture, and a community, among many others. I don’t believe a lot of the myths that circulate around. For example, I don’t believe that they can’t walk in the daylight, they don’t cast a reflection, or the whole garlic, holy water and crosses thing. The whole stake through the heart thing would just about do the trick for any living thing, so that shouldn’t be something ‘just for vampires’. As for how I am here as apposed to the way I am in real life, well I’m exactly the same in both cases. I guess I’m just always the way that I am, my crazed obsessions, quirkiness and all.
Hmmm...
I live a different life from what I live here in the VR. Partly because of fear, partly because I choose not to freak other out...
I am what I am online and offline. The only times that I would act different is in front of my family. Many of them are actually afraid of us and they would think that I was into devil worshipping.. so I just don't bring it up.
I agree with LordOfNoctemAeternus, we shouldn't have to hide what we are.
I certainly don't. It shouldn't and it doesn't matter what others outside the community think. The outside world is already pretty ignorant already as it is. Their opinion shouldn't matter, specially those who think real vampires are like the vampires in the movies.
Do you have to hide what you are LordOfNoctemAeternus, or anyone else for that matter?
I use my own judgement to who knows what I am, so far it has been good. I dont act any different around sleepers, I only limit what I say and who I say it around. I think that the interaction we make with society as a whole is important to our existance, it proves the whole "vampire in the shadows" persona wrong.
Thank you Echo, that's very kind of you.
I guess that one thing that messes with our heads is what psichology teaches you, and what you feel, because there's a very thin line between psichology, and 'something else', and adding what others tell you, and what you pick up since a very yung age, it can really confuse you. Atleast for me.
I think there's some odd shit in this world and out of the 100 bs stories I hear, one of them might be more real than I ever guessed.. :-)
i love the vampiric life,,,i wouldnt have it any other way
I think this is a good post ... I myself do not hide what I am, I find that most "normal" people do not even care.. we have become a society that accepts most anything you throw at them, even if they do snicker at home about it... I have a donor, she is practically what you would call "normal" she knows of my need for her blood, and she understands that... she has gone through the ups and downs of my being ill when i could not receive blood. She accepted my lifestyle as it was ... only minimal questions.. I find that if you were to walk up to the average person and say " um excuse me I would like to have you tested for disease on a regular basis so I can consume your blood weekly", they would flip out.. therefore I do not do such things, but i can say that i have a sense about who will and will not accept me and my needs.. I do not always dress in black, I dress however I like... I do not perish in the sunlight, i do however have solar uticaria, which can cause sever burning and rash on my skin.. therefore most who know me are used to my being out and about during the evening as opposed to the daylight, the same goes with my photophobia,... So I myself, had not had to hide the physical symptoms like i suppose some would, but i wont go poof! if i go into the sunlight... also i love to wear crosses, and can wear silver... love the garlic, and have no abnormal fear of ashwood.. I simply live as I am... and no my donor is not my gf... she is merely a trusted friend who doesn't mind the constant testing i require her to go through...lucky for me she is a phlebotomist by trade... Although i will keep an eye on this post as I am very curious to see what others say about how they live .
I believe vampires can both be made and born, but that they should not be created either way indiscriminately-I believe that vampires, while once human, have surpassed the basic human in knowledge and experience..I do not believe that they are just hagning around waiting ot be rock stars or any of that other crap. I think like anyone else with some extraordinairy skill or ability, vampires prefer to keep themselves TO themselves, and therefore fulfill the truest meaning of "Hide in plain sight"
The dark gift i was given has made me a completely different person... before i recieved it i was reckless and immature and lived my life to oppose all forms of authority just to do it, i would fight anyone and everyone that even looked at me in a wrong way i used to steal and rob and do drugs and anything i wanted to do i did...and now through the teachings and guidance of my lord i have learned a great deal and see the many error of my ways and now strive to be better...i try to stand for everything my lord has taught me...and hope to the gods that i can be as great and honorable a being as himself... *bows to Lord RYU...*
It makes one grow up quickly and makes people understand that for being diffrent the dark gift is a blessing in my own opion. It gives a new sense of self and sensing of blood and energy and yearning to learn about the entire world. Remembering past lives and your embrace is important and to those that have sired us to show utmost respect. *curtsies to Lord Ryu*
Lord Seth. I don't thik that anyone should ever ave to hide what they are... but I also don't think that;
If something is "A" then all "A's" will be the same,
or like all the other "A's"
or be appeciated by the other "A's"
Or be appreciated as a group by all the "B's"
Its a very simplistic way to put it, but we are all the same and different as a group of individuals, and others are different as another group of individuals.
There will always be ignorance. Not just from "them" but from "us."
I am what I am and that is all I shall and can be..I do hide it from some people, but most know what I am and I and they dont care. I have been this way for as long as I can remember..I believe in past lives, and was a vampire in them as well..but I can die, I can be killed, I eat, sleep, love, and lose just like everyone else, but I also have the dark side of me. I am mostly a psychic vamp, but occasionally the blood side of me needs to be fed. I do not care what others think, so I will be what I will be..Let them call me evil, satans spawn, devil worshipper..what ever they will. I know the truth, as do the people who matter to me....
I feel that if you consider yourself to be a vampire, or of a vampyric lifestyle, then you should be proud of it and the choices you make, after all, why do something if you are going to be ashamed to admit to doing it? I feel that those out there who know me, pretty much either agree with my choices, or they tolerate them for my sake.. there are always going to be others that are ignorant, and cruel. I live this way each and every day and without shame.
I hide for noone but respect those around me and know what to and what not to say..
i love what i am and how i live my life all i can do or say about it thank you to the perfect dark soul that made me a better and happier person today i wouldnt trade what i have been given for anything i have hurt others by being what i am but it makes me happy and thats all i want those that hurt to see
i am very respected amongst those few who know. i feel special but alone, and will continue to feel alone until i find a true vampire that lives close to me that i can meet. but vampirism is my life. it defines me the most out of everything else in my life. i am a vampire. i don't look at myself and see a wimpy kid with no friends, i see a beutiful creature that has the power to kill at any moment...well if the law didn't get in the way. i am respected because of what i am.
I live that so-called normal life, that to the mortal population is that everyday cycle of a predetermined life. I act normal around my firends and family, many of them are to closed minded to understand the grey area in life. So to be able to survive in my realm, I have to be a shadow and hide my true identity.
I don't like having to put on a act for the ignorance that surrounds me, someday I hope to find that place where I can just be myself.
vampire life is important to me...mere mortals have nothing to live for...however vampires live forever
it's a gift and a curse. It's not all lovely as hollywood sometimes makes it out to be. A curse is to not be able to fulfill your vampyric needs, or to be overloaded with what you crave- in rare cases, there are people whose energies I can't pinpoint or overwhelm me, and it's frustrating, and sometimes weakening.
whats it to me? sometimes it can be a pain when people come over and freak out when they see the blood containers in the fridge...i am here online as i am in life..
although i dont go running around in my town and tell everyone "hey i have to drink blood to keep up my health"..id be put in the pillow room for sure..
this is how my family and I live our lives.

and unite.
We are family we are of the same mind and blood, let none come between us!
I am who am I am yet I "act" differently online and in real life.. why you ask?
First and foremost, we all fear judgment.. especially when it stems from the ones closest to our hearts.. it pains me to be in such a state of limbo of denying my true nature to the ones I love.. yet deny it to the end I shall so that the ones I love will be safe from ridicule and isolation from the public..
Second, I believe that you need not reveal the darkness within you to everyone.. especially in real life.. sometimes even to our families.. (especially here in our county! try as much to wear gothic make up and they will think you're a prostitute out to make a buck with a passing Joe *sighs*)
I admit, I am a totally different "acting" person here... not that I act but that I can "do" the things I can't in real life like express my opinions this vocally about stuff like this.. in real life, I'm just a voice lost in a sea of faces... but that doesn't mean I'm different on or offline.. I just "behave" differently..
I am what I am no matter whether it is among friends in real life or online . haveing grown up in a magical /pagan household to haveing belonged and retired from 2 1% motorcycle clubs to currently being a wiccan high priest and a member of the bdsm community and have always been an engery and sometimes a blood vampire when i am with the proper partner in these times of deadly blood diseases . I just am particular about who knows what about my life chuckle but I live all aspects with honor .
and it harm none do what thou wilt
I think there are too many different views and opinions and I am not too sure how to discuss them all.
it is almost a religion to some whom take it that serious to others like myself is is just fiction which entertains my mind. The closest I come to the Vampyric Life is blood play with a partner.
i really dont know but i dont care at all what people think of me so i live my life the same both on and offline. I have always been fascinated with vampires but never thought of myself as one until a couple of months ago. After doing some research both on and off this site i now consider myself a psi vamp. But that is what it is to me, my life and no one can change that
I live my life... differently. My daughter and I have come to realize that we are vampires, primarily psy because of how other people's energies effect (affect?) us. I am myself on VR, but offline it's different. My family I know accept the gypsy traits because it's so strong... but they're not ready for the term "vampire" to be entered into the mix because of the preconceived notion of "vampire" and "evil" going hand in hand. My grandmother was old-school Catholic, Hell and Brimstone, and struck terror for our souls into our hearts...
My conscious awakening, recently caused by stressful/traumatic events, is still new to me. The indications of what I am have ~always~ been there, perhaps one of the reasons my grandmother focused so strongly on me - even though the gypsy blood came from her!!! (Or... perhaps ~because~ the gypsy blood came from her? New concept there... OK, guys, I'd like some opinions on this... Just send me a message.)
Either way, I am different online and off because it's emotionally safer, more secure at this time. This knowledge is new to me, and will continue evolving in my life because I can never really be the same person I was before...
RedQueen, thebatt, LuminaEssance, and other VR friends (some of whom have posted on this forum) are helping me deal with the events that led to my awakening and go on with life. Thank you, my friends!!!
i'm more of a vampire at home but when i go to school and hang with friends down the street i tend to keep it at a minimal. i like being who i am so thats the way its gonna stay.
