I noticed that one of the new levels is Doppleganger.
I have met another 'me.'

Have you met your Doppelganger??

If so, please explain the experience.

No I haven't but I had a number of people over the years call me Kathy because they said I looked like a person by that name...shrugs.

An actual Doppleganger though is suppose to be a sign of bad luck especially to family members, like a sign of eminent death of the person who is the double. I know that some take it more generically and I have always heard there is a double out there of everyone. I just haven't met her but I guess from what I put up top others have, lol.

My friend told me that he was driving home from work and he swore he saw me and called out my name and stopped because i wasnt answering and this girl that looked like me he said told him she was named Beth.. he said he nearly flipped out from the freakyness.

I do happen to have one such dopplerganger locally, I have not met though, I am approached by people calling me " Mark".

Yes , I have, for it is said we all have a twin. I have met mine about two years ago and we are still close friend. spitting image of me, yet the personality is night and day.

I had a weird experience in New Orleans,
In a night club called the Dungeon.

I swear that I had not even taken a sip of my drink yet.
I had a 30 second conversation with a guy who looked just like me and then disappeared into thin air.

Apparently Dopplegangers appear at a time of great emotional stress for people.

I know mine has been seen around my home town a few times, and then I get shouted at for ignoring people, lol.

I have not. I do not believe we have another self.

If we all did, our world would definitely be much overcrowded. And one would think the notice of them would be much easier and more profound had they existed.

however i did meet a friend of mine's... i was working in a retail store and waited on two men, me being me i didn't look them too much in the faces. however, i looked up once right into the face of a friend i hadn't seen in years (he had moved away some years earlier). i exclaimed that i knew him and he looked at me like i was crazy. i was all 'no no we went to [insert school here]" come to find out he had just moved to town and had actually ran into other people who thought he was my friend. i even made him show me identification to prove i wasn't being fooled.

I would love to meet my doppleganger, mostly to see who is the more evil of the pair.

But the skeptic in me has trouble believing that there is another me out there wandering in the world... the gods couldn't be that cruel.

I don't think a "doppelganger" is a physical thing..not another human that happens to look like someone.I believe a "doppelganger" is either the essence of that person when they need a release from anger or the "evil" side coming out when the person can't handle certain things in life,much like the definition explains.

I haven't meet mine yet but I have been told by several people I look like someone they know. I think it would be strange to see someone that looked like me other than a twin.

Darkwolfman I believe in what you say as a doppleganger is related too and the premise behind it.

My twin as I refer to him, is just that a twin in looks but the personality is totaly different. I have not met my ghost apperation or do I intend too. for does not lore say one shall overcome the other to carry on the life that was set to be.

i wonder , have had people i did not know come up and hug me , people who call me by another name and even someone who did not believe me when i told them who i was , they said no way i have knowen you all my life and i said no way we just met today.

Just today my boyfriend thought he saw me near our house, this woman had my taste in clothing, smoked her cigarette like me and everything. he was about to give her crap for ditching work then he noticed she had wrinkles and then called me up, blown away.

I don't need a doppelganger... I'm a triplet... *laughs*

.. like the last respondant, mine was very literal: a Scouse [Liverpool] version of me, just different ~ very.

This reminds me, my dad has a doppleganger, who lives not too far away from us. He looks exactly like my dad, but has the opposite personality.

the guy is pretty damn evil.

It confused the hell out of me one time when I was about 5 years old, we dropped my dad off at a local town, while my mm and I were going to my grandparents house, when we saw his dopple ganger going into the hairdressers, about 200 yrds away from where we had dropped him off (but my dad had gone to the post office)

I refused to believe my dad was my real dad for about a day after it, lol.

I have heard I have one many many times. We have never met, however.

I wonder how many dopplegangers can be attributed to split personalites?

My dad also has a doppleganger, well two actually. We were approached in a fast food joint once by a man who showed us a picture of his son and he looked just like my dad, and I once saw a picture of a pilot in a book who looked EXACTLY like my dad. As for my doppleganger, the closest thing I have is my best friend. We look so similar that people have actually stopped and asked if we were brothers.

Well, since there are over 2 billion individuals worldwide, I would expect at least one or two would look alike, as well as have certain mannerisms that may appear identical in perception.

2 billion? or 6 almost 7..

I have actually met my doppleganger. It's funny. She has the opposite style as me, but the looks are the same. My mannerisms are darker than hers, though she is more prim and proper than me. She even shares my name, only it's spelled differently. It's really odd. When I saw her, I almost flipped. My mind couldn't grasp it. I just told myself it was an illusion. But then I had a woman come up to me, claiming to be her grandmother. She told me to come with her, asked me why my hair was different, and why I was wearing different clothing than what she'd seen this other "me" wearing just minutes before. I would have thought she was crazy had it not been for me meeting her just minutes before meeting her grandmother.

Sort of, people tend to mistake me for other girls but that's because in my country many are dark brunettes.

It gets embarrassing to be called by a name that is not years and then people approach you and say: what you're not recognizing me?

In any case maybe my real Doppelganger could be my cousin who lives in Australia. We are similar physically and characteristically we just have different lives. Hers the lucky one why mine not so lucky one.

I have not met my doppleganger... I think it would be an interesting experience. i am not sure if i believe that everyone has a doppleganger, but I guess Ill believe when I meet mine lol

No, and I've never been recognized for anybody else. I guess I just have a lot of really distinctive features? I've never really seen anybody that looks like me.

Except one time I did see somebody on this website, who in one picture looked a lot like me...to the extent that I thought for a split second that she stole one of my pictures and changed her eyes to green...hahaha...but upon looking closer, and then at the other pics, I realized it wasn't that eerie of a resemblance. Which was almost disappointing, but eh.

If i meet mine, i would consider terminating him >=D

Everyone has someone that looks like them on this planet.
Could be a family member or a complete stranger....Don't think there's not.

Gentic make up says that some where there may be a twin of us. Looks or features almost as similair as ours. yet conscious thought and actions would be different in the life they have.

I went to put petrol in car and filled up, went to till and person took money and said, i know someone who comes in here and they look identicle to you lol, that was a few years ago, i have never seen the person but found it rather strange lol

when living down in alabama I used to work at Taco Bell..I had many people come to me and say that they didnt know I worked here..I was very confused..
they asked if I went to a certin high school and when I told them that I was born and raised in NJ they were shocked...
so from then on anyone who told me that I looked like so-in-so I'd say that they needed to give me there number so I could call and arange a meeting with this person..

I have never met my doppleganger and hope I never do...that would be total bad luck, I think.
Now, when I lived across the bay in San Francisco, I use to be mistaken for an 'Anna' whenever I use to live in the Mission district...people would walk up to me and start babbling in Spanish. It was wierd.
