We are all well aware that history repeats itself, world extinction, the rise and fall of empires and the total disappearance of plant and animal species. I have been doing extensive research to the conclusion that NOTHING is forever, not even our world. We are constantly threatened by comets, meteorites,ect. As well as volcanoes, the greenhouse effect and the ultimate exaustion of earths resources, even the sun will one day expand and scorch the planet and eventually burn out. The Myan calander predicts in the year 2012 will be the end of the world. With so many things hanging in the balance what do you believe the final chapter to mans existance will be? and do you believe in the bible and a great final battle? there is even a belief the Masons hold secrets to mankinds last days, Share your opinions this is simply a topic of curiousity :)

Perhaps, and this is pure sci-fi speculation,

People who obesses over " End Time Theories" will collectively invest in a little island, and convince everyone on that island will be spared. If course those that don't obesses over ETTs will finally be free of the pesstimistic banter.

Touchy initial thread post. Don't want this getting RIPed for violating the TOS... So, I will simply re-iterate what I had already mentioned within the "last" 2012 thread regarding my conspiracy theory dwelving into the alleged NAFTA/Amero perspective. Look those two terms up and you may draw your conclusions as you see fit. As well, pay attention to the Assassins Creed youtube video that I placed on my original post in the other now RIPed thread.

I am curious of two things,

1. How will those who initiate such ETTs spin it when nothing happens?

2. What will the next target date be?

I dont have an immediate response to the "next time" scenerio ~Dab~, but I can tell you that as long as society falls pray to the "fear" tactic, then the spinner can put as many scenerios out there as possible. Someone is always willing to fall privvy and prey to something.

I remember back in the 1980s that it was predicted when the planets lined up the world would end, I was in school during the time and day and we even watched spectical air on TV in our classroom and of course nothing happened except the sun setting on a new day :)

i believe planet earth will someday cease to exist, buit only because we are doing it to ourselfs by using all the natural resources and causeing all the pollution

It is all a cycle, much of what we know as climate change which many say we are causing ourselves is down to a natural cycle in the world, and the ice caps melting is symbolising us coming out of the ice age.

As for the Myan calander ending in 2012, hmmm maybe the people writing it out got bored, or thought I'll finish this later and then got continuley sidetracked?

As long as people walk the earth there will be pesemists who predict the end of the world. Live each day as it comes.

After all, if the world ends, we aint going to know anyway, lol.

Dooms day prphecies have always been around and continue as long as humans can interpet the findings of old myth. Will it happen someday, for we know planets do not last forever and life does not either. Speculation of dates that hold the interpatation of another human. For when the date passes another comes up.

Interesting opinions, I also believe its not if its when.

I can speculate how ETTs appeal to family folk, we don't want to be " inconsiderate with what their grandchildren inhearite, ETT-ist rely on that
factor.

As far as reasesrch into ETT I suggest researching a few of the bio on those who beat the Doom Horns. One of which is a Tabloid Journalist turned Author, and Time Share Broker.

There are been many discussions on this topic most centered around a specific date- but what makes these dates so believable? Is there a human psyche condition that welcomes deaths and destruction with open arms?

Sounds to me theres alot more then meets the eye when when it comes to ETT's. Its incredible the lengths people will go to for obtaining power, money and control over peoples lives.

I cringe when I think, What if Authors like Larry Nivens, and Ben Bova, or even Philip K. Dick had attempted to pass their works of as Speculative science fact.

The stigma that really stands out is when ETTs confront Geo-science, and Socio- science with charges that require rebutal. By wrapping all the junk science in debates ripe with Fallicies. They create the illusion that science cannot refute their " rationalizated research".

LOL you know I remember hearing about when the radio first came out and I believe it was orson wells did a sci-fi alien invasion skit on the air and it caused wide spread civil unrest, it caused people to believe our planet was being taken over by aliens.

There are people who believe that there was an invasion, and the program was counter measure for " verifiable encounters".

Science today can't accurately predict if it will rain tomorrow. No way someone is predicting the end of the world or when it will occur. It will happen, let's just hope it's not because of mankind's actions.

You thats a fact, our universe is so unpredictable its a hit and miss pattern and occassionally when some self proclaimed prophet gets lucky everyone shouts from the soapbox.

I don't believe in doomsday of only earth and earth can be destroyed only few ways...

destruction over earth by plates overloaded to kill gravity and hence few part of it lifted off to the space to orbit around the earth as the moon is orbiting.

destruction caused by planet or astroid hit earth

destruction via earth lose its orbit around sun and goes beyond living environment and even then the mocro lives can not be destroyed in boh three types of destruction

human faught war

extra terrestrial war

sun become nova supernova blackhole

destruction of universe begin evoluting the end of he universe.


sun's destruction and destruction of unniverse only these are two option to end the total lives.

or the life will be remain on earth in micro and then mcro forms will be taken.

I think that the end of the world will never happen. Why? Because lots of times people talked about it and it never happened.

Actually everyone has a person doomsday: their death. (even if you believe in the after life and reincarnation) the physical life, the present one would end.

Well death is a part of life and everything dies...people, stars, olanets...everything so at some point and time our planet will be destroyed however this maybe billions of years from now but one thing is certain if mankind doesnt change his habits and respect mother earth the way she has every living thing on her surface by providing food, water, air, ect. like every other species our day will eventually come due to our own demise.

I guess in short we exist on this planet by the grace of nature and one shes had enough thats it!

As we expand, we will encounter population density issues.

What needs to be established is a social stability, and civil rest.
If we fall to live in diverse clusters, we will conflict.

Those who are pessimistic seek confirmation of irrational fears ( notional, or hyperbole) by "pitching"it to others, if the person receives (subscribes) then the "pitcher" feels that it is rational enough for others to accept.

I’m not a believer of doomsday theories myself and I think the reason they are so popular as they deal with death, which is one of the greatest mysteries of humanity so an automatic hook is played.

The destruction of Earth may happen at some point but it will be as stated in an earlier post, some type of cataclysmic event may cause a sudden destruction but I think it will be more a case of us using up the planets resources and causing pollution that will choke off it’s ability to sustain life.

I do wish someone would come up with one of these future dates say 2015 and predict that some great discovery will come that will help all of mankind and the planet. Perhaps if we all start the rumor then it’ll become accepted truth, much like the doomsday predictions have done.

Worse things could happen, for example we could end up in a utopia.. And we all know how Utopias end..

I am not sure if this event would cause the end of our world as we know it, but I do remember conspiracy theorists saying that Yosemite National Park is in fact what scientists are calling a "super volcano" and that the entire park is the actual volcanic crater. They also seem to believe that it is due to blow again in the near future and that the resulting catastrophic damage to North America and the ash cloud could cause utter chaos to the world climate.

Dooms Day for human yet not come.

By the time pollution will go on increasing and people have habit of surviving it. the diseases will be of different type will take form due to this. and human will go on living in dark ages and daik age will be live over thousands of years. Human will live and will find the passage to live in dark ages and suffer through pain, disanger and dissatisfaction.

David Wilcock, who some claim is the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce, believes, if I understand him correctly that on December 21, 2012, the planet will undergo a major shift in consciousness as it shifts into the 4th dimension.

As anyone who has actually studied the Mayan Calendar and its predictions re: 2012 should know, this year marks for them the end of an age and the beginning of a new one here on Earth.

That is all. No "Doomsday" scenarios here or anything else related to the end of the world.

I think that the calender theory predicting that in 2012 the world will end if stupid. Just my opinion...

Maybe people have predicted the world will end many years before and I will laugh so loud if in 2012 the world doesn't end.

NightGame- you bring up a very interesting point. Why are all these prophecies doom and gloom? Why is the focus always on destruction and end times instead of prophecies of a positive nature? We've had countless dates on the end of the world come and go and yet we keep finding different interpretations to reveal a future date within the same text used to bolster previous ETT.

Perhaps it is easier to rally around destruction because it plays on our fears.

I predict that on 2012 every person that plays a lottery will win!
