Law of Attraction
Law of attraction says that all your thoughts, all images in your mind, and all the feelings connected to your thoughts will later manifest as your reality. In other words; everything you have in your life - now - has been attracted to you thru your mind.

Do you really believe in the Law of Attraction?
Do you think it is just another money making scam?
Do you believe our thoughts of what we want do manifest?
I don't think it works that way. although I do believe that if we focus on a thing and we do the work necessary to get that thing we will eventually on some level have it.
I also agree with the previous statement we can focus on certain things but if we do not phsically intend to accomplish this then we can say that it my not be unattainable
I think its bull. My friend is totaly lost in this and she can sitt for up to an hour just focusing on the things she wants. If you ask me this wont help her. trying to do something about it would help even how small thing you did, you still did something and worked your way to your goal. If I want a superfit body it wont help if I focus on it. If I work out instead it will soner or later get me there. Everytime you do something it will make you do more and more causes the bigger and bigger things will fell lighter and lighter to do.
Just do it!
I honestly cant tell you if I believe it or not but it is a possibility.
There are so many money making schemes out there that it is a possibility people always want to use the get rich ideas rather then work.
If we think long and hard enough on what we want and actually work for it it can manifest into reality but its like all things in general we have to work for it
If you have ever read "The Secret" or watched the film, the writers are quite skilled for a convincing arguement. The book is an interesting read and the movie was well put together.

I believe their theory about the law of attraction to a certain degree. After reading the book and seeing the movie several years ago, there is one thing I have learned-for myself atleast. When asking or wanting for something, one must trully BELIEVE you deserve it. If you do not believe you deserve it, something can fall right into your lap and you wont even see it. To me, a missed opportunity is worse than never having a chance at all.
You buying the book and paying to see the film...they got what they wanted out of it...people spending on them conning people into spending money on useless claims.
YOU have to actually do something to get the results you want.Con is short for Confidence...in other words con arts gain the confidence of the mark to get what they want from them.
Never rely on someone else to get what you want out of life...either do it for yourself or stop whining about never having anything.
It is indeed involved in many Scams.
Nothing ever came from sitting, and pondering.
It takes communication. Resource managment, and active engagement of reasoning, trial, and error as well.
Same as "Pay it Forward" the concept is inticing.. but not thouroughly realistic, or rational.
I kind of agree if your sick of it being dark get off your ass and turn on the light
Work for what you want believe you can have it and viola one day maybe soon maybe later you will have what you want
DW nailed it, Like the guy that says how to make 100 dollars into 1000, then books a conference hall invites 1000 people at 10 bucks a head.. and tells them how to rent a conferance hall for 100 bucks and invite 1000 people.. haha
One other thing...you can ponder and hope and even pray to win the lottery...to make your life easier...but you still have to BUY a ticket to have the chance to win.So sitting and hoping and dreaming for something isn't going to happen unless you make it happen.
Anything and everything is a play of tricks on your mind
DarkWolf-I understand your arguement.
I did not buy the book. It was passed along through a reading group I was part of at the time. Yes, someone did buy the book and I DID pay to see the movie. I have paid to see other movies not nearly as entertaining or with far less intellectual challenge.
I keep an open mind with all knowledge. Taking from it what I choose and letting the rest go.
What I gained from "The Secret" was the power of positive thought. Is it going to bring me riches? or happiness? or love? blah blah . Whatever the case, thinking positively makes my world a much better place.
Nothing against you or anything but you don't have to read a book or watch a movie based on the book to make you think positive. So called self help books are only written so the author can make money off of things already out there...they just make up some snappy title like "The Secret" to get bigger sales.
If you believe in yourself then you don't need someone else to sell you that belief.True if everyone in the world had more positive thoughts...the world would be a better place.Though that will never happen, too many people want to take from others.
I agree with DW as well.
You have to work and strive for what you want or as the saying goes, "you can want with one hand and sh*t in the other, see which one fills faster."
I have not seen, or read either, but visualization is a part of actualization.
I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with reading "self help" literature?
Not all experience is based on first hand knowledge, so what is wrong with others passing on their findings of personal growth rather than of scientific, or even escapist, nature? Some things that are healthy for a short term boost are not necesarily good for a long term gain. I think you have to be careful about lottery-like expectations, whose benifit to society is not usually what is expected by the ticket-buyer; also the state or charity does not usually help you "invest" your aquisition wisely after/if you aquire it.
Some responsability is left to wisdom.
I think the other danger is platitudes, there is a difference between speakers that rely on them, and speakers that innovate them. I remember the movie "pay it forward." About 10 years before that movie I was at a youth conference, and had left my wallet at home. An adult bought me lunch, and I was extreamly grateful. When I attempted to pay him back, the next day, he refused and told me to do the same for someone else sometime. I do this same act as often as possible, even if it is when I am giving a street urchin a cigarette.
"Random acts of kindness, and senseless acts of beauty," was another one that came out around that time, and rarely ever sees actualization.
Don't know, I just think that things happen because they uh...have to happen.
Nothing HAS to happen...you make the choices in your life...they do not happen because THEY have to.You choose to cross the street when you do...you choose to drive in a rain storm or not to.
Positive thinking is a great thing. It certainly gives you a better chance of obtaining what you want than negative thinking. As long as you add your positive action to it. It won't always work but nothing always works. We do attract a lot of the negative things that happen to us, we bring them on ourselves. We are responsible for our own lives. Do others contribute? Certainly! Are there evil people out there that may cause bad things to happen? Most definately.
But we are still responsible for how we handle those things. And if we decide to sit and rock back and forth saying "woe is me" then I can almost guarantee nothing good will happen.
The power of attraction is not magic and it is not infallible. But if we pursue something, logically and intelligently, and if we have done our research, and if we don't simply trust "the fates" then we can help these things to happen. But it isn't because we made them come to us, it is because we pursued them until we caught them.
basically we just have get off out behinds and get to work on what we want
i dont think any of that stuff works i have always gone for what i want and it never works out for me .
Most the time i find out what works is what the needs of others are over mine and make something that is good for all something that i like that works a lot better.
Put others first and you will be what you should be.
I do this even if it does not work at first i mean even after i do it for someone else and the hate me for it . some how one or two years down the road it works its just even when it does i dont always know how it worked.
i think this is very plausible. i dont know much about it so im gonna look up more on it but it sounds possible.
i do believe that your thoughts influence your reality. for example - if you are always thinking negative thoughts, you will have a negative reality manifested. or even, if you constantly wish for a boyfriend say, then your mind starts to become geared towards finding a boyfriend and you're more likely to find one.
i dont know if that makes sense, but it does to me.
Exactly!
Despite what the Christian Bible says, despite what the self-help books say. "Ask and you shall receive" doesn't work consistently.
Formulate in your mind and then work for it. You can't just wish for it and then sit on your ass and wait for it. If it is worth having then it is worth going after.
Yeah, this seems to present a further ascension topic. I will agree with ~IlLuminaria's~ last post on this, though I would have worded it significantly differant, the point came across just as smoothly.
I would say that they all have something to sell. But if you look back at the writings of Norman Vincent Peale he argued for much of the same thing. Decide on what you want, take action to acheive it, stay focused on it, do not take no for an answer, do whatever it takes to get it (legal means of course)
