Many of the people i meet online who are Sanguines, who are empaths etc seem to have employment where holistic treatments are involved or even where intuition is a valued thing eg Police work.
I myself use a lot of holistic therapies where shielding etc is needed and a certain empathy with people is useful.
Do you find that your chosen lifestyle is reflected in your career...
I hope ive worded that clearly enough for it to be understood. Its sometyhing thats interested me for awhile now
I'm not entirely certain...
If I take the assumption of psy-feeding, the fact that I am a techie... And a close alignment with 'Preist' position, I guess the ability to 'visualise' what that person has in front of them could be one application.
Taking in the tone and inflection of someones voice can be useful too, but, whether I can read that easier as a side affect of empathic ability, I am not sure.
Other than that, I find that the net chat clients create a good focus for energy transfer.
For me there is a distinction between what I do in real life, and what I would prefer to do in real life. If what I prefer to do in real life by progressing with the artistic side of my nature by my writing, singing and poetry then I would have to say yes..
Do you find that your chosen lifestyle is reflected in your career...
My situation is different, but still feel to post my opinion(yeah am damn annoying.)
I guess it depends on your financial situation as well. This would go like:Is this your dream job?Not everyone is working their dream job.
Most would like to choose a career that is adabtable for their conditions but it's not always the case.
And I agree with Emearald.
When I used to work,at work I was a person,in my private life another.
To be honest, I think being able to sense and use energy like I can enhanses my abilities greatly... Not to mention the flashes of emotions, and being able to truly "connect" with the people I read for.
Now I do not feed when I read (Oh a poem in the making lol) But their is a very definate energy exchange between me and who I am reading for... People always talk about feeling so "Peaceful" after a good reading.
So I would say yep, being vampiric helps me quite a lot with what I do.
Unfortunately due to my actual work, I cant totally show what my true inner being is.....or the old pinstriped ones would go off screaming.....but i still refuse to change my way of dress...or my beliefs.....so I have to have at least two sides of a many facetted being....
i myself am a kheperu but it doent really matter in the working part of life on the days i dont have energy i go to work and the energy around me takes a hold and im in better moods i dont mean to of course but thats how it is
I would still consider myself in a training stage therefore my occupation other than the martial arts instructor isn't using the skills I have.
Good question Sky.
I have always been one that people will reveal their troubles to whether at work or in play, so my empathic and mediumistic skills are always in use one way or another.
I am a spiritual healer so yes on that one lol.
As I work in an environment where there are always a lot of people, feeding isn't much of a problem, as I can transmute negative energy and I work with a lot of stress heads lol my vampyric side is more than catered for.
Working with spirit 'feeds' me in a different way, the client gets a positive exchange in lieu of their negative so for me I am what I am where~ever I am....and the bonus is I freak people out, in the nicest possible way of course which is a feed in itself lol.
In a play situation.....oh the joy of an idiot in flirt mode *grins at ya*
Yep, all in all Nas is a very happy vamp...........
i never really thought about that but yea i guess it makes sense with me being in the military
I hope everyone enjoyed this discussion as much as i did ...
I too would prefer to spend my days and nights writing, but have to bow to the nescesarry evil of employment. I was an emt and now I'm taking nurses classes so yes I suppose so. Although I should state that I feel a bit empathetic at times but am in no way that I'm aware of a vampire.
as of right now my job is digging ditches, it sucks but it is all i can do untill i get through bootcamp and Aschool...
I work in theatre... so I can be someone else every week. Therefore, I suppose that I, and all of the other me's, cannot answer that for you.
I don't have a traditional career so my differences are not affected by my work.
You got that right eviladam, "necessary evil of employment", unfortunately I am in the same situation where my means of survival does not include my preferred interests.
i believe that most of your decisions in life are made by the lifestyle that you live... so i'm going to have to say yes it does
ahhh another theme park person ;)
I work at Disneyland for the past 4 years and fortunately, the past 1 1/2 years back away from the public and work in what can be termed 'police dispatch' - and years before worked as a cop - and was known to be very sympathetic and had a good head to listen and work situations out before violence or ended the violence......I believe my being a psi vamp helped quite alot in those instances. . . and gee, while at work and was outside with people, at certain times would tap in - so many to help me with a little here and a little there.
You know, that is a VERY INTERESTING subject! I am empathic, I have instinctively known about energies since age eight, even made up my own version of the four elements, I called them "Fire, water, earth and space."
I have to say, I was never very happy as a computer programmer.... Kind of fell into it as a career, cause it pays the bills.
When I can, I would make my living as a singer... which I think directly relates per the energies, music, singing, audience, love, crowd, etc. That or working with animals or nature. Another strong energy source for me.
So yes. I believe that those who are awakened, or enlightened would be very unhappy, nay even depressed if they are working in any career where they are not inspired or affected by the energies they need around them.
A very simple answer for this is the "vampyric encyclopedia" (yes with a "Y")
empathy i believe is my gift as such and i can always talk people down from fighting. i help people all of the time with any problems and people come to me as needed. and as such i'm either going to be a techie or a shrink..we'll see
Im glad this got bumped back up i think its an interesting subject
There is a lot of negative energy at my workplace. I would not care to take in any of it. The day job pays the bills for the career that I have at night.
oh man, i hope not...i'm a psy. i work at a bank call center. the only times that being a psy helps there is knowing the difference between someone who is genuinely having a difficult time answering questions and someone trying to pull a scam.
In my experience being able to sense things with the mind and being able to concentrate all have great effects on the mind and body. So it is only natural for another's energy or 'precense' to effect anothers.
i find that its easier in a job that requires alot of your abilities for it makes it easier
although it does make it hard at times as well
life can never be easy all the time
My adrenaline defect comes in very handy on the force but I don't no if it's caused by my sang lifestyle or not....
i am a diesel tech, (machanic) so an i work the grave yard shift, an the ones i work with know what i am, an are ok with it, mostle interested in it
psi vamp
I am in the entertainment industry. So I agree. I was also a correctional officer for ten years.
I am sang and a little psy (i'm learning yet) I guess my love for blood could be reflected in my employment with Johnsonville Sausage. I grind up the raw meat. lol But I prefer human to pig or beef.
