Okay. This is going to sound really odd. I don't know how to truely put into words what is in my mind.
Why are we here...And why do we have such a fascination with blood? I don't know about most, but even when I do not need it, I still want it. Its kinda like sex...
Do you know why such a thing is? Why, if we are not "undead" and things of fiction, that we are still under certain "guidelines?"
If you have any ideas...or if you even understand this.. please give me your thoughts.

Vampire require blood to sustain them cause when they die, their own bodies cannot produce it anymore..Therefore they need a fresh supply to keep them alive.

Well, I did hear about this sort of mental disease type of deal called the Renfield's Syndrome. You know, that guy who had a fascination with eating bugs in Dracula? There are three stages to that. 1.) Drinking your own blood 2.) Drinking the blood of animals 3.) Drinking the blood of other human beings. Of course it has to be linked with sexual desire.

I have this weird thing with being able to watch blood on the movies, watch blood coming out of me, and yet when someone sitting two feet from me is bleeding I just want to get violent. *Shrugs* I find that just a little.......odd.

I think the reason why we need blood like sex is because there is something in our sub-minds telling us we need it ..

i belive it is a personal preference. kind like a type of food you eat. some like fish others dont. some like blood others dont

A few have understood what I ment and I thank you. Yes, I have a fascination. Even when I don't want it, I want to feel, see, touch, or smell. Also, dead blood, has no fascination. It has to warm...has to have life.

Blood is the essence of life...Some are attracted to it for this reason more than others...

Therefore to take blood from another being is an intimate act, much like sex.

Sex creates a life and blood sustains it. so to me its a circle of life...

I cant see anything more antural than being drawn to something that everything living relies upon for survival.

Biologically when we begin to ingest blood on a regular basis, our bodies take the required steps to make sure we process it correctly. Naturally people are not supposed to be able to drink blood but some have the ability to stomach it. A chosen few. Once our bodies have made these steps wants to keep it in us so we begin to mentally crave it, and physically feel kinda bad when we don't get it. Besides where else can we find a better source of vitamins and live enzymes?? LOL.

there are many reasons... like mentioned the renfield desease is one, but only frew people suffer it..
i guess most of the people who are here are attracted by blood either cuz of the fascination of vampires, cuz of the books they read and experiences they made by trying similar things and tasting blood or because of psychological reasons... sex can be linked with blood to.. the animal instinct and so on... i dont know enought to explain it exactly but its something like that (those who are interested should read sigmund freud and c.g young.. i guess they explain lot sexual things)

most who are here have mixed these to aspects so there is no true differetiation between them

I don't think many vampires would like to be told that they are the way they are becuase of the world and brainwashing. I myself would find something like that offensive. You can compare Freud to a child and the Nuture vs Nature. But I do not see how blood lust and the like are any where near that idea. My parents are not vampires. They do not believe that I am what I am. Its just a bad dream that they will wake up from and I will be a normal 21 year old female. Drinking wine and beer..not blood.

It.. it quenches a hunger that is always there, that never goes away. it makes me feel better when i am down, and makes me content when i am looking for contentness. maybe it is the fact that my whole family is Kin and I was raised to drink, I dont know. all i know is that blood is my life, and without it I would wither.

well first of all very well said...second i love blood i always feel full and energized when i drink it...i think that i have actually trained my mind to need it...and we are here to prove to people we do exsits

the addiction is there because of how we think and to me on how we were brought up. also the past, meaning before this life has a part to play in it.

if you dont need it but still want it then you have a deep rooted problem that you have not delt with and your mind is trying to tell you by you having the "wanting" for blood

You mentioned the term 'undead' We are all undead, if I am not mistaken, well I can only speak for my self I am not dead. Dead is the opposite of undead, Its used in fiction wrongly.

It's a personal preference... like some people are gay, others are straight, and some are celebate.... some of us just like certain things more than others and certain things just appeal to us more than others

Sorry to double post, but I forgot to mention, for those of us of the blood, the current era is kinda like a vampyric wildwest were things are not in proper order. With the growth of the internet, much information about what we are has come to light along with disinfo. You can not learn nor understand vampyrism in a day, just by using the internet.

I find blood to be sexy and gorgeous, but even when we don't need it or we think we do not want it we still Lust for it.

I am not fully sure of our exsistance yet, but I can explain somewhat the need for blood. It is like a drug, once addicted to it, a trigger in ur brain goes off all the time sensing the need for more, truely like sex or drugs.

My answer to this is a transfusion is different from a vampiric feeding cause vampires don't neccessarily need to feed off of blood to survive.There are other forms of energy/food for them to feed off of and survive.


Transfusions are when blood is given that is used to save anothers life due to a life threatining disease or ailment that requires a transfusion of blood to keep them alive ,sometimes the blood transfused is the patients own blood,sometimes it's someone elses blood they know or don't know.

Ok I said this before. The Reason Behind us needing blood is like Why a Smack addict needs a fix. We are addicted to the blood till it becomes all we ever want . The Adrinal in the blood strengthens use and gives us a euphoric feeling.

I personally have never felt the need for blood in order to survive, but that's just me. But, I kinda understand your analogy that it can be like sex, because sometimes you just need it or else your body goes crazy(and possibly even through withdrawal)!

I totally understand what you mean, and I think you did put it quite articulately.

Blood has always been a fascination, with the ideas of the "life force" and I think that once you fully develop a mature understanding and sence of mind control then things do stick with you mentally, which of cpourse affects you physically.

It can also help to put your min int other activities that involve the same commitment, for example meditation.

I have to agree with many of you who have said we are drawn to it and want it like we want sex because it is life.. and sex is the process of creating life...

It creates a sort of comfort zone a safety. It feels natural and normal. People get into a routine and like it to stay that way and when you have been doing for so long, it is hard to change...

it depends what type of person you are
to some people it would be the power side of it, to others its the lust for it the craving, like sex an to some people its the act of doing it and im sure there are many other things about it that draw different people to it

For me personally, it's part of who and what I really am... inside this broken shell. Some of us, in our former lives, were of a very ancient race with Blood-Ties back to The First Ones.. those who came before The Ancient Ones. In this time, we fed off energy and the life-giving power of the blood of that time. Some of that same can still be found in the blood of mankind to this day, even if it's in conciderably lesser amounts. A single "spark" of that ancient force is enough to bring to us a slight reminder (even if we don't realize it) of what we once were... and we long for that time again. When we drink the blood of others or take of their energy, we are harkening to a time long before the "order" of the multiverse as we know it now.

From CHAOS and DARKNESS all things came.

I've loved the taste of blood since I was the age of 5. At first I thought that I was alittle weird, but now that I've gotten older I see that I'm not weird.
