Anyone know anything about Astral Projection? Risks or Dangers? Fool Proof methods to Astrally Project? Possible or Impossible? Astral Projection discussion.
There are very few risks or dangers you will encounter while starting out astral projecting aside from your own fears. Ignore those who try to tell you otherwise.
The method that will allow you to do this is to simply hold your attention onto something as you fall asleep. Keep your awareness, for example, on your heart beat.
There a few risks but it take lots of practice. if you had a secon to help you medidated then it would be easier. you need ti eat light do deep meditsation and practice often
I'm going to put together a second astral experiment after the Christmas holiday. The first one was two years ago and members here did better than we all expected. Lets see if we can get a repeat performance.

You will get many different answers to this question. Personally, I feel there are dangers if you aren't ready for that step, and there are dangers if you do not know what you are doing. Of course you and I have had this conversation many times. :P
one more caution in that half sleep mode we must not think of our bad happening or should not check it, coz this half sleep mode take us to causal effect too. if suppose we wish continuously for 15 minutes bleeding...
the veins and walls will try that as our subtle is grown. this happen in half sleep mode...
while sat awaken position that do not happen.
ive done alot of astral projection ive seen many realms and fought many things in them has anyone else had these experiances?
I have them from time to time.... I'm practicing to get much better, so I'll check this thread from time to time and help others out with any questions they might have.
Here's a rough map to help guide you. I made this, it's not copied from anywhere so if you copy this to post anywhere, make a link back to my web site

2. Being Able To Remember Parts Of Your Dreams
3. Being Able To Remember All Details Of Your Dreams
4. Being Able To Know When You Are Dreaming
5. Being Able To Control Your Dreams
6. Being Able To Have Premonitions In Your Dreams
7. Being Able To Break Into Reality (O.B.E.'s)
OUT OF BODY STAGES
8. In Reality As A Ghost (Everything Is Blue And Transparent)
9. Endless Darkness With Floating Spheres Of Light
OUT OF BODY (Type Of Experiences)
A. Suspended Animation = No Memory Of Having One
B. Dream Walking = Communication Through Dreams
C. Remote Viewing = Sensory Projection
D. Lucid Dream Escape = Awakening Outside The Body
E. Physical Displacement = Partially In The Body
F. Voluntary Command = Having Conscious Control
G. Dual Out Of Body = Leaving Both Bodies
H. Spontaneous = During Physical Trauma
All physical bodies have an emotional body, which is defined in science as the mass of an object or the objects atomic weight. This is also the energy field, or aura. in Metaphysics this is called The Astral Substance.
Astral Projection is then any action that involves projecting yourself into the Astral Plane/4th Dimension.
First Dimension is a line
Second Dimension is two lines crossed
Third Dimension is two flat surfaces intersected
Fourth Dimension is two cubes intersected (space within space)
Well.... I fell back into my old pattern again of absorbing too much energy while relaxing on my back to do an O.B.E. and I awoke with one or more of my muscles dislocating from over absorption.
Of course I can put the muscles back after only a minute or two by releasing the energy from the muscles at will, but they remain soar and tender from the experience. I didn't use to have this problem when I first started doing O.B.E.'s but ever since my second attempt I have always had this problem. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?
Wow, I'm very glad that this thread was taken seriously. ^_^ I've been wanting to astrally project for a long time. I would like to know the dangers, specifically, if possible. I feel as if I've come close to astrally projecting a few times.
I get an entire body sensation like I've never felt before. I actually thought that I was going to astrally project earlier... but I didn't, at least, if I did, I don't remember. My whole body felt tingly, and crazy. unlike anything I've ever felt in my life (except while attempting to astrally project). I'm not sure when, but I did snap out of it, then I couldn't get back to sleep.
I got up, and whereas it only felt like I had been in my room for perhaps an hour, it had been nearly two... so, maybe I projected and didn't know it. Or, perhaps I fell asleep. I'm really not sure.
I really don't think that I projected, though. I think perhaps that I might have fallen asleep. I'm not sure when I would have fallen asleep, however. Anyway, any thoughts. Ideas. Possible solutions to my dilemma. :D
I'll keep this thread updated on my Astral Projection status. In the case of any of you wondering. I will tell you what happens. :)
The biggest danger is that you may spend to much time talking, posting threads, and worrying about "dangers".. instead of just doing it and being less concerned with others projected fears for you to indulge in. ; )
I'm greatly relieved by some of the posts I've read.I've been astrally projecting since childhood, but never learned to control it.When I've sought the advice of others in my life, their advice has often been alarming!
There is a author called Peter Carrol who wrote various books on chaos magic and The Astral Projection.
Why the curiousity? Have a pragmatical use in mind or just curious?
I've only tried it a couple times. Once I had a diffiicult time projecting myself, so I focused on a small object in my hand and tried projecting that. It worked for a few moments. One thing I was always taught was imagine a silver cord between you and your body, that way you can't get lost when you want to go back.
Since I was born in the late forties I have watched the popularity of this topic increase over time. I have seen people write with many theories about this subject, but I was most impressed by Monroe because he was not involved with metaphysics, the occult or anything that was considered really fringe by most people. I post this information for frame of reference. It was not called an OBE until more recent times. When I saw it talked about in the 70s it was an OOBE which isn't that important but only goes to show how things change even in how they are referenced over time. If one does not believe in the idea of an astral body or soul travel I am not sure they could accomplish astral travel although there are stories of it happening to people spontaneously. This is an over done topic to me, lol. I have been reading the pros and cons of it for years.
Robert Allan Monroe (October 30, 1915–March 17, 1995) was an advertising executive from Virginia who became known for his research into altered consciousness. His 1971 book Journeys Out of the Body is credited with popularizing the term "out-of-body experience". In 1978 Monroe founded The Monroe Institute, which carries on his work after his death.
Astral projection (or astral travel) is an esoteric interpretation of any form of out-of-body experience (OOBE) that assumes the existence of an "astral body" separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it. Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the astral plane. According to his own account, while experimenting with sleep-learning in 1958 Monroe experienced an unusual phenomenon, which he described as sensations of paralysis and vibration accompanied by a bright light that appeared to be shining on him from a shallow angle. Monroe goes on to say that this occurred another nine times over the next six weeks, culminating in his first out-of-body experience. Monroe recorded his account in his 1971 book Journeys Out Of The Body and went on to become a prominent researcher in the field of human consciousness.

The idea of astral travel is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife in which the consciousness' or soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an...out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in his/her subtle body (or dreambody or astral body) into ‘higher’ realms." It is therefore associated with near death experiences and is also frequently reported as spontaneously experienced in association with sleep and dreams, illness, surgical operations, drug experiences, sleep paralysis and forms of meditation.

I feel for the average person, taking classes or at least reading about meditation and developing good skills in this area is a must for most. You need to learn to focus but some say they can do this like breathing, lol. I am a skeptic in this area. I am not saying it is not done but I am saying I don't always believe every Tom, Dick or Harry that blithely talks about this like it is a given anyone should be able to do this if they are this or that. I would say read Monroe's experiences if you can still get his books. The foundation does have a website.
Thank you for the information. I am still wrestling with these concepts and view point on reality myself. Reading material certainly helps ... or validates what I feel. ;)
There is many forms as well as Theories as to what and how to use it.
Some have a natural talent to use it as well as to be a born master of it.
There is a huge assortment of information on the web which can better help you if the information provided here has not helped.
I have heard of very few dangers while astral travelling in your sleep or rest. As long as you have an umbilical cord attached to you and your body, that you can use to pull yourself back when you feel danger there is no problem.
I absolutely agree with SteelIndigo. I have a book from the Monroe institute it's titled Cosmic Journeys by Rosalind A McKnight. She was one of his patients in his research about out of body experiences. I really reccommend that if you want to find out about astral projection, out of body experiences, and lucid dreaming you look up Robert Monroe.
There was a British Occultist, Mystic and Philosopher called Dr Paul Brunton. He wrote his spiritual experience of his soul seperating from his physical body, when he spend the night in the kings chamber at the pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
This is his interpretation of his experience with the astral.
"All my muscles became taut, after which a paralysing lethargy began to creep over my limbs. My entire body became heavy and numb. It developed into a kind of iciness. I appeared next to pass into a semi-somnolent condition. I felt myself sinking inwards into consciousness to some central point within my brain, while my breathing became weaker and weaker. I had the sensation of being caught up in a whirlwind and seemed to pass into a small narrow hole; then there was the momentry dread of being launched into infinate space, I has gone ghost-like out of my earthly body."

Seems like the sort of thing you're forced to do when you're dead.
You'll probably get sick of it.
There is always the risk of being subject to Sipioning!
or being Looped.
Then there are always the predatory Jammers!
I am going to try to give my opinion without sounding too pessimistic..but...if this was actually real then some one please answer why astral projectors do not solve crimes and win lotterys and such. If someone says they do then please provide me and all of us with proof.
oops..I think I got ESP mixed up with astral projection... just realized that when I re read all this.
So, I will observe a bit more before I give my opinion..
Yes sleepwalking, doesnt sound too dangerous, there have been case where people have died, killed someone or worse...sending emails.
Very Interesting reading material.
Thanks for all the information here from everyone!
