I am haunted, not by the paranormal....but memories.

I know of people and I have read about people who say that they have been haunted, but I have never seen any evidence to substantiate the claim!

I have been searching for many years and have even attempted to be haunted myself, but after all these years sod all!

Still time though lol!!

I have certainly met people who seem to have the worst things happen to them on a continuous basis.I really dont feel it is 'paranormal" but it is there.

I think possessed may be the right word. People can be haunted by memories in their past but possessed is what you may be referring to.

My take on it is that when people are possessed they are taken over by a spirit who wants to communicate therefore they take over someones body to get it out. My view on it is that they can and will find a willing person (like a medium or psychic) and take over their body and can get it out.

Things happen no matter what peoples religion, views, race or anything are because it will happen anyway.

In some aspects i am haunted by my past. My mind relives things that I would rather forget and in turn i have borderline severe insomnia. My mind wants to relive everything and replay it when my body is saying sleep. It is only when my mind is exhausted from whatever that it shuts off.

Ok I will say it again, I have been attempting to be haunted, possessed if you would like to call it that for many many years now....still nothing. Oh I have been willing, very willing ; )

I am not able to say it isn't possible, just apparently with me! So at the moment my conclusion is it is the biggest load of tripe and money making pants I have ever come across!

This is my opinion and not meant to offend anyone. If it does then haunt me!

I think when you have your bed shaking and seeing shadows in your mirror then yes you can be haunted!

I believe ppl (or animals for that matter) can be haunted. It could be a family mbr or someone they didnt know. I dont think just a place could be haunted.

It's an interesting post and a means to make people think about something in many different "lights" pardon the pun.

On one hand, a haunting of a 'subject' as in person or animal is most often thought to be from memory; some present and some from former dealings including past live(s) experiences.

On that note, as a veteran, we all have some form of haunting memories. The same can be said for those who've had a personal abuse or challenge in some way that for what ever reason can't be shaken free. Maybe that kind of haunting just needs dealt with in a more personal or spiritual nature...who knows...each person is different and should be given their due respects accordingly.

As for posession such as "Angelic or Demonic" this too has its place and is very likely. Not that I see a great supply of split-pea soup and spinning heads on sholders, but there are more than a few recorded and documented dealings with such concepts.

One could surmise that a "possessed" or haunted individual could be assumed as clinically insane, with the MPD (multiple Personality Disorder). But again, to claim this is neither here nor there without proper validity.

I believe people and objects can be haunted. I did have an old friend who was able to see and speak to ghosts who had an old lady attached to her for quite a long time. Making her life a little difficult at times. Until she was able to learn how to help ghosts pass on, then she was able to rid herself of the nice old lady.

I remember one time we were chatting over coffee in my apartment and she suddenly gasped and was holding her chest. And then apologised to me as the old lady just floated up to my balcony and then took a seat in one of my arm chairs I had out there. I was too scared at first to turn around to see if she was there, I did eventually but didn't see anything. But the hair on the back of my neck was standing up I tell ya!

Haunted.. as in persistenly being pestered by the unseen, right? hehe.. Well, I believe a person can be haunted. Sometimes, it wouldn't matter where that person is.. be it a temple, home, the safest place in the world, or even surrounded by the police (which kinda makes me feel safe a little, actually). I don't know how to handle that situation if and when it happens. It's something that person has to handle on his own, I guess.

Apart from memories I'd include being obsessed about an idea and you think about that and forget the rest, obsessing about a person and you even stalk them, haunted by regrets and remorse, etc...

Sometimes I find I am haunted by life itself.

I meet people that I don't want to meet, even though I lost contact years before, some event occurs and I meet them again and they enter my life again even though I want to ignore them, experiences that repeat themselves, etc...

I have experienced but not haunted...

I have seen person in white clothing and in action in the room with single candle light and all dark curtains on windows... butit was not a shadow person.
I did not see anyting via mirror but few things such as light breathing like one living being... and many thing in my life time am 42 now...

I think people can be haunted by spirits. Take that movie the Entity. Now that is based on a true story where a woman was being raped by a ghost, they moved her from the home to a laboratory and the rape happened again, the ghost even tried to attack everyone.

She wasn't being possessed it was a haunting and attack.

Taken the occult element out of the word haunted really expanded the thread topic.

After being on the road (hitching, and tramping) I would occasionally end up in a host house, more then often multie member co-ops, or student housing.

I learned how to aid people in confronting their ghost, and geist. I observed how some claimed to be ghost magnets, or geist apports only to find they had underlying social disorders. Exercising a group dynamic often dispelled such notions.

Clumsy people are more likely to claim to be pestered by geist, especially if their parents or peers had a habit of excusing their clumsiness.

People not being responsible haunts others. when
unsettled projects lay around things topple.

People lash out passivily to each other, practical jokes, pranks, and scare tactics, to subtly nudge a lax person into comprimise their behaviour or lack of social
etiqutte.

People like to see others scared, often just to test a perons stability. Sometimes people scare others so they can be the soothing "hero".

When i was a child I know I wasn't more then 4 yrs old no old memories there I was often visited like every night by a ghostly figure for hours climbing the stairs towards the rooms above no he wasn't freaking Casper he was real he stump his feet on the stairwell and no doubt wasn't a nice one he scared hell out of me this went on for yrs

till we moved i tried talking to him asking what he wanted and all no replied but he sure love scaring me

if i was in tub he would slam the door

if in my rm hold it shut on me i couldn't get out

so i really dont think a four yr old child is thinking past life in this case

However when we moved new owners said there plates and all would hit the floor always and it got bad they sold it as well

I still see ghost everyday but i learned to control the fear and sometimes the situation

possession now i have never seen Linda blair and there head spinning and i do believe a spirit can take over another's body for a time . Just my thoughts

I have to say to this day i am visited by certain energies, they are peaceful and calming, I tend to contribute them to 2 beloved cats i owned that passsed on, I can even on occassion hear them purring.
