All energy, life, deity, etc comes ultimately from one source, The All. As man was first trying to understand how the world around him worked he started to act out things he saw and did. This is where sympathetic magick started. As part of this process, man defined deities for different aspects of life. By believing in and worshiping these different deities, they become a distinctive but connected part of The All. The more the deity was worshiped the stronger it became. As man developed so did the deities he worshiped. Over time some deities were no longer believed in and returned to The All but never totally lost their distinct characteristics. When they are believed in again they again become distinctive but connected to The All.
There is a hierarchy among the Celtic deities. There are major deities and minor deities. Oddly enough this is very similar to the Catholic Church, with their saints. Among the Celtic major deities are those well known ones like Lugh, The Morrigan, Danu, Brigid and Dagda. Less known are the minor Celtic Deities. Among these are The Greenman, The Horned God, Bussumarusm, and Cailleach.
The Celts also believed in reincarnation. When a person passed, before they were reborn, they guided the living members of the clan. Souls were reborn within a clan mainly, passing the wisdom on earlier years on to the living. As souls lived each life they learned important lessons that were needed to help them better understand themselves, life and The All. Each lesson learned was taken into the energy that was that soul. The more they learned the more they evolved and the closer they because to The All.
They believed that the soul evolved until it no longer needed to have a physical form. At this point it joined the all. Like un-evolved souls they to could reincarnate.
