I've made a habit of isolating cases of alleged otherkin existance either determining them false, that is to say the subject is human, burgeoning (forgive if that is spelled incorrectly) that is to say in the process of awakening, or existing that is to say that the subject is what the subject claims to be.
As I'm sure one would guess since I've posted this topic, I've encountered a subject outside the realm of expertese and would appreciate the potential insight of the rave. On principle, I do not yield the identities of subjects when researching information regarding them.
Before considering, please keep in mind I do not describe myself.
The groundwork is as follows:
The symptom list in its most current form
- Hypnotic eye, the infamous allure of the vampires.
*Note: One of the few vampiric traits he embodies.
- Slowly emerging psychic ability, flashes of insight given at will, though the content and clarity of the insight varies.
- Disembodied feeling, does not feel he belongs in this world, that he is of human make, feelings of self alienation.
- Unusually large amount of untapped psychic energy discovered, and efforts to undue the bindings around it disrupt internal balance of energy.
- Sent a purifying wand flying at leat ten feet after a priestess attempted to cleanse him with it.
- Has fed from and been fed upon by both a confirmed vampire and lycan.
- Grows in fascination with dragons, but I've been largely unsuccessful in locating information helping me determine if that's what he could be.
- Has been chosen by a dragon tarot deck.
- Shows no moon based symptoms.
- Occassionally demonstrates pure bred lycanthropic amounts of physica stamina but not strength.
The subject is a white male in his late teens, with initial symtoms occuring at appoximately age sixteen or seventeen.
If I am in error bringing this here, forgive me. I am interested to see if there is something I have perhaps missed in my research.
"- Disembodied feeling, does not feel he belongs in this world, that he is of human make, feelings of self alienation."
That is common for the age range given. Most people feel that. And the last five things listed, to me sound completely and totally irrelevant if attempting to uncover some sort of truth. They take the focus off of the more convincing things listed.
It is very interesting, but as I am sure you know, neither proves or disproves anything.
The way I judge this is if I get a feeling and then it is confirmed through simple, vague, questioning--with out prompting--then I will tend to believe it. If anyone is like me, then can see that extra someone inside a person. If I can get something equal to my assumption, then I will be sure that there is really something there.
Hmm, confusing at best. I can see where you would be having difficulty figuring this person out. It would seem that at every turn he acts like something else. I would say keep investigating the possibility of his being a dragon. You may have to wait for all of his abilities or "symptoms" to emerge to thier full potential before making an accurate...diagnosis? Not sure what else to call it...decision on what he is I guess.
It is funny to me that anyone could be baffled by this. The intent is clear and hardly in question, the methods however....odd, but not baffling.
The case itself isn't so much baffeling as it is full of questions outside of the case itself. When I learn about something, I'll learn about the information surrounding the original question itself, and I have the overpowering urge to try and understanding everything within arms length of what I'm researching.
Incidentally, with regards to earlier comments, yes, nothing is proven or disproven at this point which is why I've removed from speculation any potential explanations. More is needed, but I felt perhaps someone might have seen a similar case.
That comment I made, wasn't anywhere near directed towards you.....it was for people who were confused by what you meant...yea.
This is something I find intensely interesting. Regardless of the manifestations of your subject. You are demonstrating and enhancing true ability in detecting and decyphering abilities in others. Well done.
I hope I am not being too forward, but to my untrained eye these symptoms seem to be under three different subjects... if one person would start exhibiting all these symptoms at once, I would be worried for their sanity.
Again I say that I hope I am not offending, simply that some individuals have more active imaginations than others. And will actually believe things they are saying are true. Also, again I say that I do not know anything about detecting otherkin...
Fascinating! I noticed it's been awhile since anyone posted to this. Did you ever determine anything?
O.o For some reason this makes no sense to me.....you can just ignore this reply, but I figured I would let people know that not everyone knows what you all are talking about.
"Occassionally demonstrates pure bred lycanthropic amounts of physica stamina but not strength."
I was not aware that we had data about "pure bred" lycans or otherwise and how one might differentiate from another. I'd be interested in looking at that data. Can you supply a link as to where I can find it?
I'm assuming you've researched it since that is your claim in this post. Speaking for myself, the observations that you recount already seem to have been interpreted by you...and that gets in my way.
For example, the tarot has chosen him...he's is fascinated by dragons, so maybe he is one. This is not mockery, so please don't read that into what I'm saying. I simply think that raw data observed without pre-categorizing its meaning would be helpful if we're to be of any help to you.
Like...I'd like to know what measures of endurance and physical strength you observed, not that you observed pure bred lycan endurance. Does that make sense? Check out the Hawaii Ironman for endurance examples of the human sort...were your tests more or less rigorous?
Know that I do find your subject interesting and would like to see more. Perhaps even videoing the research sessions and providing clips so that we might see what you are describing. I'm assuming that his making the wand fly away was done with his mind...but you don't say that. Did he smack it away with his hand? If he did it with his mind, wouldn't that be great data to have and show?
I agree with the second post. Most of them were irrelevent and take focus off the real subject and every teenager wants to feel like they belong.
id have to agree with AntiEveryone
for the most part teens of that age want to belong most of it does seem most irrelvant .... or an attention thing to get you distracted from his main feelings and problems..alot of teens like to hide there true feeling...i know i did at that age..... but joli has made a good point to........but most of us here are not traind psychologist either some of us are moms and such.....so me personaly i wouldnt even begine to know what to say.......
When I delved into this kind of thing, I found more questions than answers, more vague peculiarities than hardcore fact. Have you considered the possibility that whatever is happening with him isn't supernatural at all, but a growing pain of evolution? That's not provable either, just another theory. If you call this subject a dragon, vampire, any kind of otherkin, it would still be just that; theory.
It's like the old story of the three blind men and the elephant. What all this could be, could be something much larger than what we think.

The three blind men and the elephant.. good call.
Perhaps it's just hormonal.. natural bodily changes taking their course..
...teenagers can be weird.
I have 3 teenger (yes I am old) and they are all diferrent and my bestest friend is a teenager too and they act and behave inw ays that would made me think that one is werewofl another some sucubus and the other a pure vampire, so its just a phase to my opinion, teenager need to feel special and belong to something or someone, its nothingmore, otherwise if it gets to intense I would think they really need to see a psychyatrist.
I wouldn't know, of course you never who's ever being honest on these forums just take what you think you can learn from and discard the rest.
I fit most of those, but I dont believe dragons neccessially holds a fascination w/all Vampires.
I can say alot of that fits me...But I'm no vampire or lycan.
I fit into many of those classifications myself. However, it does not indicate that the individual is either vampyric or lycan in nature based on solely those facts. The problem is that with every bit of folklore there is always an amount of error in the stories being passed down.
I am sure that there is some factual basis for the lore behing vampire and lycan; however, not all of the symptoms (IE - Moon based symptoms) may be true as tell-tell signs.
As I possess many of those symptoms I do not have an affliction to the sun, other than eye sensitivity, and I don't have any reaction to moon light.
Without taking in the age of the person in subject or the unclear claims, is it not possible that they are experiencing some sort of change not normal to humans? For instance, evolution?! It may be that time...

To me it sounds as if you have found a person of otherkin... not sure if I would go dragon... The not fitting in feeling is normal though so that is not a trait I would worry with. It is hard to tell honestly, and to me it would be easier to speak with or look at this person myself to know, but as in that is not possible all I can do is give you the input of it sounds like it is highly possible.
