Throughout my life I have had little weird things happen here and there. Like knowing something will happen before it does, either by feeling or dream. I never had a hard time of ignoring these feelings and dreams before. The older I get the less control I have over this kind of stuff and I just want it to stop. I don't want to get panic attacks and have nightmares right before a natural disaster happens. I don't want to feel sick all day because a little earthquake happens a few states over. How can I get this to stop? Any suggestions? I've tried meditation and that has made it worse, what can I do?
This happens to alot of people,and so many do not even know what it is.Changes in Barometric pressures and energy build up in an area just prior to an earthquake can make a person feel sick or anxious.I would suggest just making sure you recognize it for what it is and lean to accept and deal with it.Physical exertion during these times is one way to do this.best of luck!!
i know what your talking about i dont know if i can help or not because im the same way i really dont even know if it works because i still have them and i really want to learn how to control it but i tend to have nightmares true more often when my body gets really hot when im sleeping so when i keep my room really cold when i sleep i dont have them as much and when i do have the dreams i dont know when or where its gonna happen i just know that it is gonna happen and i get a like déjà vu feeling when its about to happen but its not always bad because a few years back i had one about me being hit by a drunk driver and i had that déjà vu feeling and my guy just started turning in to major knots so i was close to my sisters house so i went to her house and woke them up and stayed there for a bit then i went back on my walk and just like im my dreams a truck ran off the road and hauled butt down the side of the road and if i didnt stop at my sisters house it would of put me right in frount of that truck so since then i respected the dreams and spent alot of time trying to learn more about them and i found out im not the only one in my family that has them my mother dose and some people on my grandmals side of the family but try that and try not to go to bed all stressed out that helps too

Earthquakes shake the ground at many frequencies at the same time and there does appear to be ULF involved in pre Earthquake events .We as humans have intuition, as well as being capable of detecting these ultra low frequency waves with our bodies.In your case,it makes you feel sick.

There's always a couple limits you can place though, like going into meditation, opening your third eye, and drawing a boundary closer around your person so you will only get a panic attack or something if it is going to happen to you directly

Meditation opens your mind to higher consciousness while maintaining physical control of your pulse rate and breathing. However, in precognitive phenomenon and lucid dreaming, the whole of what you cannot control in any such event, while devastating emotionally/empathically to the senses...such intensities are prominent for a reason...which is the spirit of this question.."why is this happening to me?"
In my own experiences, I have found it is not so much the actual event that is of consequence as it is the need for lending ones' spiritual strengths to those who are directly involved. Being indirectly involved in such phenomenon does not make it any less subjective to how these things affect ones' psyche.
I simply pray with all that is in my heart for those who are hurting..somewhere in this world..wherever they might be..whatever they might be going through. I release all those who are in harms way into the hand of the Creator. Unless I am directly involved in an experience that I receive actual "specific instructions" as to what needs to be said or done, I find that praying for those spirits who have passed over due to trauma helps to ease the sincere pain that one feels from being tapped into the world's energy.
Write about it - or everything for that matter. Like your dreams - feelings - what you've seen - emotions - all that jazz. Yeah.

I cannot stress my words to you enough.It is when we ask why it happens to us that we find ourselves feeling as though we are "burdened".It isnt a burden and when we accept it for what it is,and better yet,use it in the fullest capacity,you will be amazed at how much better you will feel.
Fear is not good in this situation,as this in its self feeds into the negative.
I believe if we are wrapped up in the worst possible outcome it will more likely happen that way..
On the other hand if you can eradicate fear and use what you dream about as a warning system, then you can start to making a positive difference in whatever precognition you might have.
The difference between concern and fear is your ability to act or react, fear has a tendency to render you incapable of acting and/or reacting to your individual circumstances. Concern however,will allow you more freedom to act wisely.

I'm a walking radar gun when it comes to people. I have a bullshit meter that goes off all the time, and I do make people uncomfortable when I come straight out and tell them they're shooting a line of crap.
My dad used to call that the gift of discernment. I called it calling a spade a spade, or being able to stand in a cow pen and not have a problem with saying it's fill of crap, instead of just suggesting that something stinks.
I'm also pretty good with meeting people for the first time and getting a good read on them. I'm rarely wrong.
I don't trust impressions gained on the internet. People can say anything on here, and you have to look for patterns to get a handle on what they are.
Anyway that's what I can do.
I know people who have this problem. Yoga and meditation might be an answer that you need to try.

I have a suggestion for you. There are websites you can go to for weather activity in each state. Perhaps you can link into those websites and look at them a couple times a week, do not obssess, but look at them and when you see or notice activity then use your personal physical energy and focus it on one item even if it is something as simple as polishing the furniture.
The point I am trying to make is that when you start feeling those feelings its a good way to know if its you or the acitivity around you and then focus your personal energy on other things. counter act it if you will.

I know someone who can do this,what shes does to stop things,is to send energies around yourself with crystals to keep things from entering your mind,expecially in you sleep.
Similar to the working at something to cause a diversion, the Zen meditation technique may provide relief. Get in a comfortable position with the least outside stimulae (street noise, tv, radio, etc.). Close your eyes and concentrate on nothing. Imagine a starless night or a blackboard to start, as this technique will require practice at first. Stay in meditation tuning everything out as long as you feel comfortable. The more you practice the technique the more effective it will be.

We as empathic beings might always find ourselves picking up other people's problems and emotions. If they are sad, We are sad. If they are happy, we are happy. If they are in pain, we are too. Many times separating our emotions from theirs can be difficult and really confusing. It can indeed make living life rather challenging. However, don't despair, as we all have the ability to choose to experience the emotions of others or not.
We naturally fluctuate our energetic vibrations to match those around us. Everyone does this to one degree or another. If someone is sad, angry, hurt, or happy we have a tendancy to match our energy to theirs so we can feel what they might be feeling. Much of the time, we do this automatically in an attempt to experience and take away that person's pain. But we do not need to feel another's pain in order to ease it.It is very important to remember that.
So how can you stop yourself from matching the emotions of those around you? You do this by keeping in mind the mechanism of entrainment. Entrainment is the tendency for two vibrating bodies to lock into phase and vibrate in harmony.This is natural, all humans tend to do this and it is found in almost everything. From the sounds of crickets chirping in unison to the tick of the clock.
Have you ever been around someone who was in a really good mood and you found yourself beginning to feel good too? Or how about when you are around someone who was really sad or mad. You start to feel the same way.
This is a result of entrainment, which results in empathy.
The soloution to keep from constantly feeling another's emotion is to keep your frequency higher than those around you. And in doing so, your frequency will not drop down to match the frequency of their sadness, anger, pain or frustration, but will cause them to match yours. The result?They will begin to feel better. So how can you keep your energies high? There are several techniques to help you do this, and I will cover them in another article.

Also,as far as you dreams go.I have had these type of dreams all of my life,and often. What I noticed early on is that the dreams that have proved to be precog have a very specific feel to them and I learned to recognize that feeling and act accordingly.Learning to do this might help alieviate some of the anxiousness you feel.

This post caught my eye having dealt with a similar experience myself in my younger days. I used to think in all honesty I was nuts when I would have these spurts of knowledge. I met a women who explained to me not to fight it, not to let it scare me, and not to wish it away. She pointed out that I was actually focusing more on it when I worried about it which increased it. Sometimes the best path is the easiest one, except it, don’t fight it, and look for the positive aspect of it. When you become relaxed with the idea it’s no longer a problem that haunts you.
I did not gather the symptom exactly what you are suffering from...
mediation can not worsen the things and meditation is the name of bringing the person to balance mind state may there be paranormal happenings or deja wu effects going on. Person doing mediation remains most balanced in such circumstances and takes it even happening such as how the birds are flying here and there, everywhere. ;)
This is interesting. I have similar experiences, being able to tell when something bad(or something at all) is going to happen by feeling or dream. I also have an anxiety disorder, you've made me wonder if they are connected.
Have you ever tried treatments(non-chemical) for anxiety aside from meditation, breathing exercises, etc. when you're feeling anxious? Kind of a conventional method for a unique situation, but it would be good to try every option :)
Wow...Will love to meet you. Premeditation of event, is coincidence of time. Mean, is what your ego and your subconscious that are telling you that you think that you are. But, is not you. There is no human, who possess cells, that can see the future or even, feel when something is going to happen.
Maybe it's your approach instead of thinking of it as a hindrance maybe you should try to make peace with it. Strengthen your gift and exercise your body and mind so the physical body won't develop symptoms that cause you pain. As we are approaching 2012 i'm afraid your symptoms are going to get worse.

You sound like an empath. Changes in the EMF, electrical lines, faults in the earth, all sorts of things can affect the empath. Some depending on the belief system will refer to you as a "sensitive," but most are influenced by the nature of their surroundings on a variety of levels. Precognitive dreams are not unknown but are not the provence of the empath alone. This would be a side issue but it can set things off for higher levels of consciousness to kick in.
I also have a question... I have dreams and visions.. i cause storms and leave my body. i can see the future and the past...sometimes i dream what will happen if i dont become what i once was in the beginning. My memories have been stolen from me. there are a few things i do remember before this life but not as much as i should. i have had demons tell me its my turn that times up ive had lucifer shades etc attack me.. i am blocked someone has done something to me and i cannot defend myself. what do i do? i need council once again.

I found that the best way to deal with this type of thing is to keep a journal net to my bed. When I have a dream, as soon as I wake up i write down as much information that I can remember including colour and smells, date the entry also.
Keep that or a seperate journal to carry around with you, write any thoughts in that one.
Over time you get to see patterns in your dreams and meditation, pointers for your own life and how to deal with it. You can also refer any thing you feel is a premonition to news articles and see how accurate you are or not.
Many dreams of disaster are coincidental because there is always disasters happening all over the world. Earthquakes, fires, floods, murders they are day to day occurring. Picking out the details in your dreams that pinpoint your premonition to a specific location will help to see if what your experiencing is indeed a premonition, thats why you must write it down as soon as you wake up before the dream gets lost over the day.
The only way to deal with this is too accept it until you can prove one way or the other of its really a gift or just an overactive imagination,

Indeed this does happen to a lot of people. In my past experiences with this type of thing i also got panick attacks before something happens. I have learned through time to accept this as a gift rather than a disease and through that realization i have been able to calm myself down tremendously when an attack comes on. it will get better though. Does anyone have any suggestion on.. keeping demons out? i wake up and im face to face with one or i wake up and i see dead bodies in my room. they come in different forms.. i keep seeing this particular one in dreams in foresight.. across land.. and no i dont have an overactive imagination what i say is truth

I find it remarkable that even though there are several explainations for these type of events,we still insist that these are paranormal .Granted,some things are beyond our scope and cannot be explained as of yet,but even so,there are things that can be.

Seeing ghosts? Try looking around to see if there are transformers or other electrical things that can emit ELF and the like.ELF is known to cause feelings of being watched and other unpleasant feelings...including hallucinations.
There is just so much out there when it come to natural phenomenon and its affect on us.
Why do we always choose to ignore them?
I guess what I am trying to tell you mindbender is to maybe consider everything..mundane as it is, and take a good look around your enviroment and instead of automatically attributing this to somekind of paranormal "gift" that only a shaman or medicine man can help you with and only a few peeps have.You might be surprised at what you might find.
most times we CAN help ourselves in these situations fairly easily if we only look.
and Oceanne, you forgot to mention Mental Illness as a cause for what many describe as Paranormal. There are many mental illness' that cause halucinations, paranoia, the feeling of being watched, talking in your ears .....the list goes on

Im am a firm believer that some fantastic things happen .Based on my own experiences..but I also believe we miss identify most of them, attributing them to the supernatural or rare,when in fact,they arent rare or supernatural at all.
there is really no way to stop it ...you have to learn to control it ..not let it control you.
I am not so sure control is an absolute, you may control the physical side and lean against it.
However at critical times it may take you down or alternatively force you into knowing or suspecting that which is to others is the unknowable.
I predicted an unlikely outcome today? madness? no, it was more prophetic. A question, so I see a littel of the future here and there? What does it matter?
It matters not, for our own self worth is blown out of all proportion.
Acceptance is hard when the results are so upsetting. Small steps are useful. Perhaps start with one aspect, say the idea that something will happen. The actual event may still rattle you, but if you can accept that you are able to premonate events in the future, you are one step closer to accepting the whole package.
As was said somewhere above me, "you have to control it, not let it control you." That's absolutely correct. You can't live your life in fear of knowing these things. Maybe you can use it for good. If you know something bad will happen, you can warn those involved.
I was born precognitive as was my father. It has saved my life at least once. Use it.
Of course Oceanne I fully agree, I only feel a small percentage are maybe mad so to speak, and the rest well its there own ego and sense of self importance that makes them jump up and down screaming i'm psychic. I have seen so many people behave this way in the spiritualist national union movement here in the UK

i would see a psyciatrist or however u spell it. not saying ur crazy... just they are the best to help people figure out how to fix these kinda issues i think... : sorry im no help
