Darkest greetings...

I do not mean to insult, but if I do,
it is not my intention,
let ye be aware that I merely say what I hold to be my truth,

We have been led to believe, or have come to believe ourselves that the so called deities contributed, in one way or the other to the creation of that which we call "life'' , and I ask myself, are not deities mere thoughtforms humans, and some beings in general have created to shield themselves, or to project their fears and call it faith?...

Has it not been said that when enough energy, and enough thoughts are put into a certain idea, that idea becomes more than real, and acquires those powers it has been given? , the tasks it has been assigned?
then, can we truly say our "gods" if we believe in any, are nothing more than powerful thoughts that we have given them influence over us( or have not)

Just curious, my lords and ladies...

thank you,
Lord Markus

i have to agree Markus... i think that through ages men need to believe and we have always being taught that there is someone over us, ruling us... so, i think that´s the reason why we can´t believe that we can rule our lives... of course our mind is incredibly powerful to make many things real... our thoughts can be real if we want them, but that´s assuming that we are gods of our lives... and many people don´t believe that...

I think there is a God, but he lets us decid of our path and if we go where there is death well, and pain its the same. God did not make those, mankind did.

throughout history people..civilizations have always needed a higher power to worship and to ask of things.be it just a thought form or once a real think of substance and matter.i believe people tend to want to put their burdens on someone else and it usually is a god or a goddess i always think of such beings as ways for people to ease their own minds

I would have to say that both from what I have observed seem to be true.

If we say that the gods are a form of energy, since that energy acts the way it does, individually and inspiring those emotions when channeled would not then it be both a thoughtform, and limitless current?

Taking to this notion, of example Themis, one of the titans, also refered to as Gaia in some greek texts. She is Birth, Sacrifice, Divination, Law, Morality, She gives wise counsel, and salvation. These are the same energies attributed to the planet Jupiter, whose nature in Sumeria was Marduk, so would then not the planet, the energy, and all used to describe the similiar currents be but thought forms, because we in what little knowledge we posses about the grand scheme of things have named them and tried to contimplate the infinite?

So thus I say, I think they are both. And then venturing to say, that from what I have read about servitor creation, and the interesting lore regarding the Fotamecus, creation as a temporal displacement entity, that it would be possible to elevate these personable energies to a godhead, because once they tap into that energy, would they not already be one?

Personally I don't believe in any god. I think they were created because people couldn't explain something that happened for themselves. Also I think gods were created as a guideline to live by, to live to please their god(s).

I don't believe in the Christian "God", but I do believe in deities, feeling a calling to one in particular.

I don't believe that the gods themselves are just thoughtforms, but I believe they derive some power from our thoughtforms. Our belief gives them more power.

As humans have limited abilities to comprehend things, there is no way to know whether or not a deity of whatever sort created anything in the universe. I believe that if there is anything close to a deity it would be what we know as 'nature'. The laws of nature exist and it's amazing how all things in the universe follow these laws so blindly. Yes, humans try to not follow the laws of nature, but they are still subject to them.

I tend not to believe that a collective of thought-forms would suddenly spawn a deity into motion due to the collective energies. Anyone who thinks in this way is using brain, however, and that pleases me. For if it weren't for the amazing abilities of the human mind, we'd still be living in caves hunting down small rodents for food.

We are probably on the brink of evolutionary change, where we (our future generations) will gain the powers to thought and energy (telekinesis), and hopefully we will use that power wisely.

Darkest Greetings...
It can go both ways, either deities are created for the needs of mankind, or are fed by their thoughts and so called "faith"...
To me, mankind has always had the necessity to create a scapegoat, call it a "God" or a "devil" ,

hence, deities can be a projection of their needs to have a higher power to look up to, feel protected...

Merci...

Lord Markus

Emeleth stated, "How can a mortal claim to know God?"

this is one of the biggest questions that has filtered down through generations and has allowed the idea of the gods to persist as long as they have.

the gods are what we make them, not the other way around. mankind is inherently creative and we create ideas in our heads to explain things we have yet to understand.

the more we develop in intelligence, the less need there is for an abstract to answer the nagging questions.

my personal thought is that the gods are all elevated thoughtforms that have been built into the collective consciousness of humanity to the point that they are indeed quite real. thoughts are pointed out into the unseen world on a daily basis and the more thought that gets piled into a concept, the more likely it is that we will effectively will that concept into being.

the gods are made of the energy we have instilled into them. we wish to understand and touch the moon and we see her as a beautiful woman. we wish to understand and touch the sun and we see the strength of the god. we wish to find a way to comfort ourselves and relieve ourselves of guilt so we cast our desires upon a concept, trusting that our thoughts will be heard.

it's all what we believe.

You have a very interesting thought but I can see what you mean.... truly there is no real way to know until we pass on to what ever it is that's there, if anything..... but I think we can make things happen to us and then blame it on a deity.... as you said in one way or another... the power of suggestion..... and it is a very powerfull thing...

I believe in many things. I do think there is something out there. It may or may not be God, or Jesus, Buddah or Allah. I do think there is something though. Now, as to the question at hand. I think it's possible to believe in something so much it becomes as real as you or I. That being said, it's entirly possible that a God or Gods could be created this way. I mean it's like the law enforcement and Government, no? If we dont' give it the power, where would it receive it.

I find your thoughts on this subject to be very interesting, and like slaveangel said, there is no real way of knowing, but since every culture has had a different god or gods, then I think that they probably created them to justify their beliefs, or to have something to believe in, or to have a reason for our creation.

Society only exists if there are laws. Without laws you have chaos. Man knew this. Thus, I believe that man created the concept of God and his laws, as a tool to govern over the foundation of society. The laws that man created to govern this society and maintain order are the Ten Commandments.

Personally i need proof of something to believe in it, but it comes to down to individuality. Everybody has differnt views on "god". and even though we may not comprehend them, we have no scientific proof to proove them wrong, so who are we to judge.

As a person I am one, so how can I understand that which is above me. At the same time it has been suggested that the act of thought itself yields creation. Somthing thought therefore we are..perhaps.

I do agree that many of the ideas we have about a god are simply ideas have no real basis but on the other hand it all came from somewhere.

I think therefore I am, perhaps we think therefore all is.

Isilmea,

You do raise an interesting point , of which I half agree with , Isolated are the ten comandments , as they are not part of all religions. Religion and its diversity in itself causes chaos ....so many wars were and are fought over it. I cannot help but feel brainwashed when it comes to religon in the first place. WE all must learn to embrace OUR OWN inner peace!

I think that's an excellent view. But, how could everything have come to be if it wasn't true? All of this hard to start somewhere. Either way, it doesn't matter to me. My faith is everlasting, nothing can change it. I truly believe a higher power exists. I don't see how any of this could be created without one.

i think; personally.. I dont believe either side; I'm just going to do what I want; perferabbly going by societies rules; as much as possible that is; and honestly. if there IS a god; then like my dad says, shouldn't he be "all forgiving?" then...he wouldn't care what you did in your life time; I don't believe in wasting my life over a "book" and someone we don't even know COMPLETELY is real. It's just; we only have ONE life [we remember, atleast.] and..I don't think we should waste it.

I do believe In Gods and Goddesses due to the fact i feel they are with me during my spell casting and also at times of need. I believe that all this couldn't have been created without a higher being, if you think about it how could this all appear one day, this is Earth BAM etc.. Someone had to have created it all. I think the Gods/esses are here but they don't interfere unless called upon. They let us lead our own lives and follow our own paths that's my opinion.
But i can kinda see where Atheists are coming from, some people need proof of things and others think that Gods/esses are just thoughtfuls of people who think they need to believe in something to make everything else seem real, or to justify their own beliefs. Sowie if i sound confuzzling =S I can never explain these things the way i want to bleh..
But anyway like DV said people that don't believe have no scientific proof to whether Gods exist or not. It's to every individual's own =]

i've been thinking recently. why are we intelligent? why are we sentient? how did this happen? if it is just natural forces that enable changes to head in a certain direction, then can those natural forces also work in the same way on stars and planets? galaxies spiral around each other, and the whole universe turns like some vast clockwork mechanism. could it be that the universe itself is a vast brain or a computer? could it be that the entire universe thinks and feels? and if it does, might that not be a god? food for thought.

Sometimes it's classified as a way of control, but sometimes it's just a tradition for a culture to evolve. Believing in something higher than yourself makes one supposedly more ambitious to obtain that.

I think that everyone believes in something and it is up to the individual to decide what they believe in. If there really is a god, I think he would will us to make our own choices, be it good or bad. We grow from every experience we endure.
