*coughs* impressive, you have done well for yourself it seems.
Im gonna plead the fifth on 100% of the magick that I have done, as it is not something Im going to publish. However as for processes, very interesting. I should be curious to see what others have to say.
these are very nice depictions of different spells. I would have to say that I have performed similar spells. All spells are worked differently by different people. The altar layouts are beautiful. But they are all different, just as each person's style varies. I use cards also, but I don't use stones with them. I like to use stones as protection, healing and general well being. Cards are great to work spells with. I can't always use my altar when casting spells. most spells require several different "ingredients" in order to perform them, and sometimes using an altar isn't convenient. I think it all depends on the person. Very interesting topic to discuss. I have a few spells in my journal which may interest you!
You have found some interesting photos of altars and spell layouts. I cannot really speak to those.
Personally, I rarely work spells, but will work simple prosperity and protection spells for friends. I work mostly with candles, salt, water, incense, oils, etc.
I also have some listed in my journal if you care to look and can dig up something if you are looking.
Those are some fancy alters indeed! I used to build alters like that maybe fifteen years ago... These days, however, I do most of my magic right in my kitchen. Props are great in but all you really need to do spellwork is yourself.
Very Impressive Layouts... But I believe Magic is not controled by different layouts. The true magic comes from within the heart and mind... Although layouts such as the ones you have shown, are nice to have, it is also possible to just have the ingredients around you. I use candles, I consider stones to be holders of energy, so if you use them, use them to aid a spell. Cards are also nice, and I also use burning essence to purify the surroundings. But the research and pictures are well indeed...
Most of the spells I've tried have worked, the ones that didn't well those were the first few I tried..... I don't do them often but when I do I look into days, months, moon phases, alignments of planets.... etc.... I don't have layouts that I follow... I agree with the post before me that magik comes from the heart.... I fully believe in my magik and it has yet to let me down....
every spell i have done has worked, i have never used an alter of any kind, i dont think you need one, all you need is your belief that it will work and the ingredients needed for the spell, i personally use herbs and oils, sometimes candles, and almost always fire. but its all individual depending on the type of magic that your doing, and the results you desire from said magic. my suggestion is to stay off the internet and hit the library or book store and research your information that way, the internet is just not reliable all the time
Magick is in the person and their believe that it is going to happen regardless of the alter and how extravagant it is. (they are beautiful, but a lot of people don't have the freedom or privacy to have it so obvious)
It is up to each individual how fancy or simple they want their magickal area to be, and what tools, IF ANY.
I use candles, and rely heavily on the phase of the moon.
Keep reading/researching but don't believe just one persons opinion.
Blood offerings aren't necessary in my opinion and concerns me a little. Unless the person just WANTS to do that and I hope its their own blood lol
you may already know about them, but a good source is www.witchvox.com as well as many others but I have to run take some movies back, I am sure others can recommend books/websites for you.
You prob know this too, but the waxing moon to Full (full being the strongest time) is to bring things to you and the waning is to send things away. Some people don't do magick during the new moon, but I have seen books that made suggestions for this time too.
I'll check back later, as I am always learning myself.

I agree with Darkfairie. It takes visualization to make the spell really work. I think I read in one of Scott Cunninghams books regarding spells. You have to picture the spells working... what effects it will have and then keep that vision tightly to you.
thats exactly right, the more you see your spell working, the better is works for you, sometimes it takes longer than you think and sometimes you have to work the spell more than once.
I have been working at Alister lesser keys of the Solomon’s fame ….
Total unexpected I have created a servitor, thought it was a daemon but it does nothing.
I only see it when waking in the night when I sense it and it soon dissolves into shadows of the room… I can visualize it and see it acting on it’s own during the day … sort of like an invisible friend only people seem to move out of it’s way … I find the whole event interesting and defies my common senses….
This is my most current magical works and have a post on the forum right now about it
gems and crystals tend to make a little bit more mpf when you make powerfull spells or cantations
...so many tools... so many things... who could keep track???
Beautiful pics. I raise my energy and always do spells of taking away under a waning moon and bringing forth on a waxing and full moon. The magic is your own intent of what is good. A altar is your own personal place of being with the higher powers. My magic is simple and does'nt call for all of the above, but we are all different and it is not the items but your intent. Goddess bless
I had an alter in our old house in the attic , but now all I need is my beliefs and energy for the spell I'm working and I found out you don't really need an alter to make a spell work . It all comes from with in your self .
As far as spell casting, I personally have only done it once or twice...and that was with help and being told exactly what to do. And it was used to call a spirit back to her body. But it did work. Most times the spell is in the words, not always the materials. The materials are normally used to strengthen the spell being cast, to raise the energy to be put forth.
Nice layouts I just cant mention any of my own spell. Magician never reveal's his tricks.
Well these are very well done. Spells of this sort, can be done both with, or without the use of so many items. It just depends on the caster/invoker. Using such items really helps the accuracy, and power of the spell for those that have trouble generally just focusing.
those are very nice pictorials , i have done similar things and i have done things that we are not allowed to publish its part of our rites and rituals, one thing i have learned, which may be this may help, the arts are just that, they are a art, there truly is no direct science, to them, a spell has meaning to the practitioner, more so then the person just reading the works, there are many things that a person can use to find resources and many things that can lead to places that you really shouldn't dabble in, remeber this, no matter what you choose to end up doing keep in mind what you send out can and may come back, while this is very controversial, it makes you keep in mind that if you harm some one , the stuffs gonna bite you in the butt, many subjects can lead to many interesting things, keep one thing in mind while you learn , you do not choose your path, your path chooses you. many people forget that, but its the cold hard truth. these are just my thoughts.
Let me first say, the pics are lovely...
This is also something that I would like to hear more about... All I have done in the way of spells are simple protection... I am better at things that I really should not do... So I am working my way up to the positive side of things.
Dark Greeting's,
I agree with Darkfairie and Trinity101.As a teache I have my students use props at first, but all you really need is intent.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Dark Blessing's,

Magick exists in all things. No special tool or device is needed. I myself practice Totem and Runic Magick. I work it through my very being. No Alter, no special tools other than what is needed to do the task at hand. Even I recognize that the materials and the objects involved are insagnificant. It is there to symbolize the energy that is being worked. It makes it easier for others to connect what you are doing to what they are feeling. The magick is already there your mind just has to be open to accept it. Which was many need the alters and cerimonies to do.
This post first off was very well put together. My belief is that thought itself is the power and the different forms are what speak to you. You have symbols which represent different pieces of the universe and by manipulating those pieces during ritual, you create change in the actual.
i am intrigued that you have decided to venture so deeply. knowledge is a great gift. use it well. as to what i have done i find it better to keep silent than to blab it to the world.
I can see that you have put much thought and effort in presenting this Forum.. I've learned much.. Although, my altar never looked so organized and picture perfect..
The props used in ritual are really no more than arkatypes. Symbols of our desires our will and the power of the universe...Layout is only a way of creating the order in which you cast...but very nice thread set up...333
I've cast many of those spells....you have to be careful when doing them...remember what you put out in the universe you get back....I have had some back fire on me....
uhhh...good luck with that i guess....if you ask me anything religeous or 'magical' is just a plecebo effect on people thats why it happens..and it seldom does.
Magick is in your heart and soul... If you believe in it with no doubt and no shame it will work! so yes the pictures show a shread of truth about magick.. the tools are not props.. theyre not fake.. theyre very real to the people who use them.. thats all that matters... whats real to one person isnt the same as the next.. Beleive and its true!
Mental thoughts dont dictate physics..
but what you said basically is what a plecebo effect is..its a sugar pill that cures cancer just by fooling the people into thinking the pill is cureing the cancer. it works..but i dont know about magic haha.
I perform magick usually on full moons to help unite spirit and earth. It's easier.
I would like to suggest however that you practice with meditation BEFORE you do any spells. It builds up your spirit energy and allows you to clear your mind for certain spells. Also practice feeling your aura... your sense of self. I'll tell you what to do.
1. Clear your mind as much as possible and close your eyes.
2. Imagine any colored aura surrounding you and draw it into you.
3. Once you can master that, try drawing it to certain parts of your body... such as your hand or your mouth. This is high level meditation but it makes spells and stuff a LOT easier.
So like I said. Practice your aura BEFORE you begin casting magick. It works, trust me.
the mind control our reality..if you can learn mind control then you can control reality
I hear from friends of mine who do magic they have to have a clear mind and their own beliefs .
Nie pictures just remember that with all spells that you personally cast are always done with pure intent as if they are not they can come back to bite you.
Taking the questions in order....
Do these pictures below ring truth in the matching of the pictures' appearence and supplies to the spell type?
I would say yes, even though at first glance i would find it hard to determine just what alter set up corresponds to what spell type.
Have you yourself performed any of these spells, did they work, and did your spell/ritual/magic table look simular to these?
Unknown I have no true idea of just what spells you were performing. In all honesty I use the same altar layout for all my spellcraft
What other spells, and spells of your own, have you performed?
As a standard rule i never use anothers spells. I might draw inspiration from them, but never use them exactly as they are. Now rituals to celebrate the wheel of the year is a different story I like it I use it... with a few tweaks mind you.
And what kind of magic do you usually practise?
Candle magicks, as well as Magicks using cartomancy
The stuff you use, and where you use it all depends on the spell your casting. some people dont use any thing but i do suggest you cast a protection circle befor you do any spells.
Some magic doesn't reguire anything physical, therefore it just goes to show that it depends on the "spell" that shows what you need for it
