Hey, I have been trying to get this right for years but seem to be having trouble staying in the proper state once exiting the body. Do any of you have any pointers on successfully astro projecting. I have tried various methods from internet searches, but just cannot complete the exercises in the manner explained by them. Is it even possible? Can any of you astro project? What do you find the easiest or best method of doing so? Thank you much.
Techniques for astral projection
Note: After having studied many methods of Astral Projection, I have
found that this is the easiest to do. Monroe teaches these techniques
in a week, but they can be easily done in a day, with proper
devotion. I feel that this technique is superior to others because it
doe not require intense visualization, which many people cannot do.
enjoy!
(Taken from Leaving The Body: A Complete Guide to Astral Projection,
D. Scott Rogo, prentice Hall Press)
One of the chief barriers people learning to project face is fear.
Many are afraid that they may die, or be harmed in some way as a
result of their projection. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
The Cantebury Institute, reknowned for its occult studies, executed an
experiment in projection involving over 2,000 people. None of them
were hurt in any way by this, and now, three years later, none have
complained of any newly arising problems.
Once you are aware that you cannot be harmed by projecting, you should
begin monroe's techniques, step by step.
Step one:
Relax the body. According to Monroe, "the ability to relax is the
first prerequisite, perhaps even the first step itself" to having an
OBE. (out of body experience) This includes bothe physical and mental
relaxation. Monroe does not suggest a method of attaining this
relaxation, although Progressive Muscle relaxation, coupled with deep
breathing exercises (inhale 1, exhale 2, inhale 3.... until 50 or
100) are known to work well.
Step two:
Enter the state bordering sleep. This is known as the hypnagogic
state. Once again, Monroe doesn't recommend any method of doing
this. One way is to hold your forearm up, while keeping your upper
arm on the bed, or ground. As you start to fall asleep, your arm will
fall, and you will awaken again. With practice, you can learn to
control the Hypnagogic state without using your arm. Another method
is to concentrate on an object. When other images start to enter your
thoughts, you have entered the Hypnagogic state. Passively watch
these images. This will also help you maintain this state of
near-sleep. Monroe calls this Condition A.
Step three:
Deepen this state. Begin to clear your mind. observe your field of
vision through your closed eyes. Do nothing more for a while. Simply
look through your closed eyelids at the blackness in front of you.
After a while, you may notice light patterns. These are simply neural
discharges. They have no specific effect. Ignore them. When they
cease, one has entered what Monroe calls Condition B. From here, one
must enter an even deeper state of relaxation which Monroe calls
Condition C-- a state of such relaxation that you lose all awareness
of the body and sensory stimulation. You are almost in a void in
which your only source of stimulation will be your own thoughts. The
ideal state for leaving your body is Condition D. This is Condition C
when it is voluntarily induced from a rested and refreshed condition
and is not the effect of normal fatigue. To achieve Condition D,
Monroe suggests that you practice entering it in the morning or after
a short nap.
Step Four:
Enter a state of Vibration. This is the most important part of the
technique, and also the most vague. Many projectors have noted these
vibrations at the onset of projection. They can be experienced as a
mild tingling, or as is electricity is being shot through the body.
Their cause is a mystery. It may actually be the astral body trying
to leave the physical one. For entering into the vibrational state,
he offers the following directions:
1. Remove all jewelry or other items that might be touching your
skin.
2. Darken the room so that no light can be seen through your
eyelids, but do not shut out all light.
3. Lie down with your body along a north-south axis, with your
head pointed toward magnetic north.
4. Loosen all clothing, but keep covered so that you are slightly
warmer than might normally be comfortable.
5. Be sure you are in a location where, and at a time when, there
will be absolutely no noise to disturb you.
6. Enter a state of relaxation
7. Give yourself the mental suggestion that you will remember all
that occurs during the upcoming session that will be
beneficial to your well-being. Repeat this five times.
8. Proceed to breath through your helf-open mouth.
9. As you breath, concentrate on the void in front of you.
10. Select a point a foot away from your forehead, then change
your point of mental reference to six feet.
11. Turn the point 90 degrees upward by drawing an imaginary line
parallel to your body axis up and above your head. Focus
there and reach out for the vibrations at that point and
bring them back into your body.
Even if you don't know what these vibrations are, you will know when
you have achieved contact with them.
Step five:
Learn to control the vibrational state. Practice controlling them by
mentally pushing them into your head, down to your toes, making them
surge throughout your entire body, and producing vibrational waves
from head to foot. To produce this wave effect, concentrate of the
vibrations and mentally push a wave out of your head and guide it down
your body. Practice this until you can induce these waves on
command. Once you have control of the vibrational state, you are
ready to leave the body.
Step six:
Begin with a partial seperation. The key here is thought control.
Keep your mind firmly focused on the idea of leaving the body. Do not
let it wander. Stray thought might cause you to lose control of the
state. Now, having entered the vibrational state, begin exploring the
OBE by releasing a hand or a foot of the "second body". Monroe
suggests that you extend a limb until it comes in contact with a
familiar object, such as a wall near your bed. Then push it through
the object. Return the limb by placing it back into coincidence with
the physical one, decrease the vibrational rate, and then terminate
the experiment. Lie quietly until you have fully returned to normal.
This exercise will prepare you for full seperation.
Step seven:
Disassociate yourself from the body. Monroe suggests two methods for
this. One method is to lift out of the body. To do this, think about
getting lighter and lighter after entering this vibrational state.
Think about how nice it would be to float upward. Keep this thought
in mind at all costs and let no extraneous thoughts interrupt it. An
OBE will occur naturally at this point. Another method is the
"Rotation method" or "roll-out" technique. When you have achieved the
vibrational state, try to roll over as if you were turning over in
bed. /do not attempt to roll over physically. Try to twist your body
from the top and virtually roll over into your second body right out
of your physical self. At this point, you will be out of the body but
next to it. Think of floating upward, and you should find yourself
floating above the body. Monroe suggets you begin with the lift-out
method, but argues that both are equally efficacious.
If, after all this, you still can't project, I recommend purchasing
Leaving The Body, by R. Scott Rogo. It only costs $7.95 and contains
another eight or so techniques. Not all techniques work for everyone,
but chances are you'll find one that works for you in this book. Good
luck!
Astral Travel simplicity itself
The step by step instructions that I was taught, simillar to those in
the LLEWELYN Practical Guide to Astral Travel, worked better for me -
it took me alot of practise to get to where I could do it and it seems
that for most people it takes practise, although some can do it
spontaneously. In fact it happens to some the first few times with no
warning and then, after worrying they have gone crazy for a while,
they later learn what it is. But I did just want to say for those like
me for whom it does NOT come easy, not to get discouraged but to try
working with it one step at a time.
Two interesting points about astral travel for me. One is that I find
it more interesting to explore the astral planes than to explore
specific locations on this plane. However when you are first
learning, exploring specific locations on this plane can help. Laurie
Cabot suggests picking a store near you that you have never been in,
try projecting to it, immediately on arising write down your
impressions of it and then, as soon as you can, visit the store and
check out your impressions. If they are not all correct, don't be
discouraged The example she gives is DID YOU SEE RED BEHIND THE CASH
REGISTER AND IT'S NOT THERE? Perhaps the cashier that day or evening
was wearing a Red sweater! The longer you wait to visit the
establishment, the more likely it is they will move something or
change a display, so go soon after your visit.
The second is that I used to do it as a kid, no problem - right up
until my Dad told me it was all in my head and I had imagined it.
Then I couldn't do it anymore.
A note here - My DAD, who used to be a hard-core skeptic, started
attending a Spiritualist Church I hung-out at when he married my
step-mother. I find it humorous that originally he went there because
it was non-denominational so you don't have to believe everything the
ministers teach and because he liked the ministers, but he didn't buy
the Psychic stuff. Well, lately he's changing his mind as he's had
some startling experiences. I'm good, I'm nice, I don't tell him he
is imagining things. But I can't help laughing about it to myself
just a little bit.
Oh, some of the stuff the Llewelyn book suggests is to practise
opening your chakras first and grounding the energy, work on that for
1 week to 1 month. WHEN YOU HAVE IT DOWN PAT (be honest with yourself
here or you can forget it) work on projecting a cloud of your energy
out through your solar plexus (some people work better projecting from
the 3d eye, I personally project the body through the solar plexus and
when I project the consciousness into it, I do it via the 3d eye. BUT
since these are all merely visual aids to doing something non-
physical, I am not sure that it matters IF YOU ARE ACHIEVING VALID
RESULTS) and leaving this energy as a cloud only then reabsorbing it.
YOU DO NOT PROJECT YOUR AWARENESS INTO IT. You absolutely MUST
reabsorb it. That is done for a week or a month or however long it
takes. It is done by creative visualization until you get it to the
point where you can feel that it is something more.
Then you do the same thing for a week or a month, ONLY YOU SHAPE THE
CLOUD INTO A SIMULCRAM OF YOUR BODY (if you are also trying to heal
yourself, use the ideal form you wish to achieve - make it realistic
and so it looks like you) WITHOUT projecting consciousness to it, you
send it out to watch a situation you can later check on for yourself.
When it comes back at a prearranged time later on, meditate for a
while and write down your impressions AND DO NOT THROW ANY OF THEM OUT
AS THEY SEEM SILLY OR IMPOSSIBLE - truth is often stranger than
fiction. Check on these later, DISCREETLY - don't TELL people you
sent an astral traveler to them, say I HEARD THAT you went such and
such a place today while I was in school so you can say to your mom
that someone saw her and told you or something, OR just say it's a
hunch, or, if you have the impression that your mom called your
grandmother while you were in school, just say I WONDER HOW GRANDMA IS
DOING? and see if your mother doesn't say, THAT'S WEIRD SHE CALLED ME
TODAY.
PEOPLE GET PARANOID IF THEY THINK THAT YOU CAN WATCH THEM - AND THEY
ALSO THINK YOU ARE THE CRAZY ONE IF YOU SAY YOU CAN DO THIS.
Interestingly enough science (psychology) tells us that one of the
classic symptoms of Paranoia is to think the OTHER person is crazy.
Always be sure to bring the simulcram back at the pre-arranged time
and REABSORB IT!
The next step is to project consciousness into it, go out with it, and
reabsorb the energy/substance afterwards - but only try this once you
have the watcher exercise down pat.
THESE EXERCiSES SHOULD BE DONE FROM A MEDITATIVE STATE.
ALWAYS SHEILD YOURSELF BEFORE TRAVELING
venum...very informative post. would belief that it will work play a role, or can this state be entered even while being skeptical of the possibility of success?
~W~
never mind the sceptics.. tis possible: tho, to replicate it time and again, I cannot.
been succesful twice and has written of it before...
but yeah, it's possible.
I Did not read the post i have posted.
I did copy the script here simply from my library.
But believe me astral projection is true and I have done it in past. its the work of consciousness travelling with energies and senses are high that time.
Firstly:
No offence intended to venumstings, you make many excellent postings in the main forums but I have to disagree with that author you quoted.
I don't know who actually wrote that stuff but it's gibberish. It sounds like a bad infomercial - the ones where they claim anyone can learn this in a day by following our simple 197 step process... ??? RIGHT!!
Secondly:
Siren86,
In all honesty some people never get it and those that do use different methods. Some of which might help you but no one is telling you the truth is going to be able to give you any real pointers until we know exactly what kind of Astral Projection are you trying to accomplish and what techniques you have already tried and failed at.
You really need to expand into greater details, either here or in private with someone.
Random questions and answers get you random results... you need a mentor of some kind.
for me it comes well natural i am not sure how and i am not really looking for many answers on that subject just yet. but from what i have read most people fail to astral project because of the simple reason they are afraid to allow there soul to leave there body due to the fact that they think they will not wake back up. for me i obtain the state of astral projection in my sleep when my mind is less active and the normal every day fears are ever more present during this time. but i will not say that it is an easy thing to control during such a state as for me it takes great control over my mind and my body to return to my body due to the fact that many factors do tend to work against me how far, such as how far out in to the astral plain i travel the farther one goes the harder one must remain in control for me any ways as it takes more time to return to ones body. there are many things that i have wondered as to what allows me to obtain this higher state of mind may it be my racial back ground or may it be the fact that i tend to meditate quite often. but what ever it is that allows me to do such things it is something that took me some time and i still work it is my control over my mind for the normal mind would react in fear and in panic which would cause one to awake suddenly and it could cause harm to ones mind as parts of you do tend to leave in this state of mind. and please if i missed something or am a little bit off on this some one please feel free to jump in and add the things that i missed.
i never really had to explain how i am able to do this so my knowledge on this subject maybe a little out of focus shall we say. but like i said if i am off please let me know or feel free to just add it in another post.
I think you can read a hundred books and there tell you a thousand different methods to project , but if you have no real thirst for it to happen it won't . To much info can make the process tedious and boring , and kill your enthusiasm .
Your soul must want to leave the confines of the physical , you must hunger for it deep down . If you have flying dreams your off to a good start . Go for a walk in the woods or something and imagine / visualise flying through the tree tops , sitting in branches , watching people from up high , in your mind fly across oceans , from the tops of mountains . You can do this while walking round , or sit and meditate on it . If it's in your conscious mind to be free and flying soon your subconscious will follow suit . Dreams of flying should become more regular and these are great , enjoy them and try to remember the sensations . You should find that dreams of flying round your house and places that are deeply familiar occur , these are like OBE's . You might not be aware of the process of how it happens to begin with , but that's not really important . So many people don't have a clue how or why they get out , but finds them self's flying around the locality of the sleeping bodies . It's taken me years and years of OBE's to learn the actual process of getting out . Why start with the hard bit ? , do the fun bit first , be wild and free .
my own exp. has been unpredictable I have no real control but when I achieve that level and project I seem to panic and slam back into my self ...Iam sorry Iam trying to gain control as well
i would suggest meditation to center ones self and to learn to control ones emotions. but that i am not going to lie does take some time to learn how to control ones emotions. during this time i would suggest trying to learn how to clear ones mind and only allow ones thoughts to wonder in the direction one wishes it to go.
(Bows)
I am agree with you that one can not learn in single day.
Even exotic masters can not teach this subject in single day.
To mentor astral project it starts with feelings of breathe how deep breathe is in and how serene from that deep breathe out...
this will lead the expansion of senses, balance of mind and expertise in visualisation.
Astral projection is hard to achieve for some including thyself. It is control of oneself mind, body and spirit. Not everyone can do this. It only happens to me when I am scared.
Monroe did a lot of research on this and he stated that it was very difficult for most to achieve. His was spontaneous the first time and others have had such experiences. Many do this working with someone else but I am very skeptical of those who state they do this all the time. I truly believe as said above that some never achieve this state but may in many cases do this in dreamstate not knowing and others knowing. It is very complex and there are varying beliefs about it but as I said I don't think it is something someone can do routinely with some formula.
All very good information and well discussed. One point that was brought up, and that is can it happen if you don't think it will.
That is casting doubt on something before you even try. Which in turn is setting one up for failure. Yes astral is hard, and can be way over thought. But also it is not where one should start either. Remember crawl before you walk, walk before you run.
Maybe start with a dream log, writing your dreams down upon waking, no matter when you wake. Also the use of meditation is very helpful. Most important of all tho with any of this is believe that you can do it with PRACTICE. Even the best baseball player had to practice to develope his abilities.
it comes natruel to me too i been doing this since i was 5 when i first saw my spiritual being is it true to be nateral
Moonphase, we all have natural abilities. Luckily for you you weren't brainwashed to believe yours weren't true abilities that you can possess. But may I ask you something? If you didn't practice and maintain the belief that you could do astral projection, do you think you would still be able to do it?
i dont know about moon but for me i know that if i didnt practice my gifts each day and have the belief in them i do not think that i would have them.
I think that it's really difficult to achieve the correct state of mind to project consciously , but it is possible to induce such states through meditative practices . Even so it's still hit and miss for me , some nights i can try for hours with no effect . Other times i can get out , but it never seems to have the clarity of vision that a spontaneous projection has.Often i'm in an extremely localised area , 10ft from my body at max , and only for very short periods of time 30 seconds to a minuet .
Hmmm meditation for me worked well for the few times I have been able to do it. You need to know what it feels like as you exit your body.
For me If I can feel my skin tingling I am exiting my body.
I am with Moon bubble and LNGiGirl on this one, it is not easy. It seems some of us have the ability and others do not.
My first real experience was when falling asleep on a plane... I coul;d suddenly see through my eyelids and hands( on a plane)This is a very freaky thing but after a while you get used to it, then practice moving around or seeing specific places.I do believe practising on a plane is a great place as the noise and disruption stop you entering R.E.M deep sleep.
It is much easier to focus on points you can tune into.
If you sink too deep all sorts of wierd sh*t happens but some of it has hidden messages...as for reading a book and suddenly getting the knack...I am sorry but that is complete nonsense, otherwise we would all be doing it.
few a time my part of exercise in divine is to preject self to asral plane.
For example if i wish to rest on the aura of plants and flowers, I do grow subconscious and trans to that state.
Many a time relaxed i love to visualise myself flying in the sky little speedily.
it starts with trying to visualise self doing some activity.
senses takes its vibrations.
I very much agree Angelus. With out belief that one can project it won't happen. If one has doubt that it will work it won't, doubt and disbelief are the killer of so many abilities. Even if one can project and they are wanting to do so, but have had a bad day and have not prepared right and start with a "hope" this works attitude, well it more that likely won't. Why? "Hope" means you have a slight doubt that it will, so gues what? It won't...lol.
to me belief is almost a must in this. as with out belief no amount of mediation is not going to get you any where. its like learning how to walk when we are young. with out the belief that we can walk well i think you know where i am going with that line.
I think belief or faith is a necessity for any of this to work, from astral projection to energy work. I am having mixed success, but the steps listed by venomsting seems to be a good start. They describe fairly well what happens for me prior to projection. I feel the vibrations prior to separation. My projection is being augmented as moonbubble's is at times, so I'm not sure what's happening. But, I do know this -- it works!
Concentration, faith in what you are doing and most important, Control your fear. Fear will not let you go far when it comes to Astral Projection. You must learn to let go in mind, body and soul. Trust your insticts, the is no such thing as in a manual to astral project the right way, there is no right way. Trust your insticts, center your senses, lose your fear, meditate and feel comfortable before you begin to minimize interruptions.
I've never successfully done it, though I never gave it much of a shot. I was interested at one point and talked to several people, did research, etc...from what I understand, meditation/relaxation is a huge part of it. If you can keep your conscious mind from buzzing too much, relax your body, get in tune and stay in tune, it should come easier...
I try many times and failed each time
wish i could do it. I would help others while doing it
you talk of having mixed success Angelika, then add that you don't think belief and meditation necessarily help.. may I suggest that if you persist with both, it'll be wholly succesful for you?
If belief is apart of it then what explains Monroe's first OOBE (it was put this way at first and shortened years later)? He wasn't an occultist or into metaphysics or anything paranormal. He probably never even thought about it initially but had one spontaneously. It was after that happened that he did research. He worked in broadcasting and was just a businessman. He wrote three books on it. I have the first one and got it I think when it came out. No one had really addressed the topic like he did until that time.
I learned to relax the body from the feet up. This is the way the body dies as well, from the feet up. I thought it was interesting but since I had such rich dream experiences I was never interested in it really.
There is some interesting material here:
http://www.near-death.com/experiences/triggers12.html
His institute is here:
http://www.monroeinstitute.org/
I don't think he believed you actually left the body as much as had a consciousness shift. He worked a lot with sound (vibration and frequency) He patented what they call the Hemi-Sync. Wikipedia defines that as :
Hemi-sync is short for Hemispheric Synchronization aka Brainwave synchronization. Monroe indicated that the technique synchronizes the two hemispheres of one's brain, thereby creating a 'frequency-following response' designed to evoke certain effects. Hemi-Sync has been used for many purposes, including relaxation and sleep induction, learning and memory aids, helping those with physical and mental difficulties, and reaching altered states of consciousness through the use of sound.
I generally don't believe those that say they can astral project routinely.
I wonder can it be learn mainly or do you have to have already some 'power' or skills or kowledge or gift to be able to really do it?
I was somewhat skeptical of the whole astro projecting, until my girlfriend started to project herself to my side. Now I'm a believer. So yes it is possible, I am going to try and project myself to her. just to see if I can do it.
Angelus, My statement was that belief and faith ARE necessary for this to work! I think my success has been mixed because my focus is not strong enough. I agree that meditation will help. Lately, I find myself distracted too often to have good experiences! Thanks for your input, though.
I use the methods taught by the Temple of the Vampire. But I do discuss this in more detail on my site vampiresamongus.webs.com
I hope you find what it is you are looking for.
me personally i think its a little bit of both. one must have some sort of natural ability first of. there are two different types of oobe's first is the type of where ones soul leaves the body due to natural causes IE death, near death, or a deep enough sleep. and two the type where one meditates and centers his or her body mind and soul enough that he or she can astral project
i meditate but i do not try to let my soul leave my body, i let it wander into a world of my mind which i call The Enchanted Forest, oh it's so beautiful! and the man i love is there lol but i listen to calming beautiful music while meditating, here is some links to the music :

and check out atahaulpa (instrumental music) adn scottish Moors and Relaxing Orient :)
thanks for the info i also have some astral projection tips go, to spellsandmagic.com is really good site i leant most of my magic there but becareful please!
I've only managed to do it twice and both times were accidents. I was in a deep meditative state both times.
There is claim that this is very difficult to do. If you lack focus and can not sit still and quietly you will not be able to have the focus of achieving it. It is also said that those that do not wish to be visited can keep out the ones that do wish to. Thus creating a more difficult situation to be able to do it.
The person has to be able to trust you completely to let you in.
Perhaps try lucid dreaming first? I am a long time lucid dreamer, and astral projected on accident while trying to go into a dream. Since then it comes naturally for me through lucid dreams. - Certain crystals help a great deal as well. I use them - PM me if you would like to know which ones.
(Note that the most important thing to astral projection is being in the right state of mind, and being able to control your mind. Learn how to properly meditate, and it will be easier for you. once you are practiced in this, you will need to learn very little to change from passively remembering your trips to going out on purpose.
Remember that breathing is very important. Breathe slow and deep. Let it happen on it's own. Slowly it will become shorter until it becomes nothing.)
SO - You need to practice two skills: Visualization and concentration. Simple meditation will help you with concentration but not visualization. The easiest way to practice visualization is to begin with scrying in spirit vision, such as many Native Americans used to commonly do. This can be practiced with any number of tools, but one of the simplest are called Tattwa. You can use the Tattwa associated with the various classical elements to visit the planes of these elements, either in their pure forms or in their mixed forms. This will give you great experience in visualization. There is no way to "verify" this kind of travel because the worlds are to closely tied to your imagination, so for example, you can't tell me where exactly you went and have me go there and see the same thing necessarily, but it prepares you for the next step, which is traveling astrally to other places in the material world, those travels *will* be verifiable. See the sources for a few references on Tattwa and Google it too.

Ahh, and once again it is stated. Pratice, have the right mind set, focus on what your doing, and have belief that you will do what you set your mind too.
Lucid dreams, those that many have and just truly don't realize what is going on. Young lady it is good to see you developed that skill for your self, outstanding. *bows*.
Many a good post in this thread now. Thanks for all those that have passed on what they know.
You can stand outside all day with a basketball trying to shoot a three point shot, but if you lack the hand to eye coordination, or the strength to lunch the ball that distance then no matter how much you focus or how much you believe in yourself, and regardless of the techniques you have tried you will never be able to constantly make any baskets.
Has it ever dawned on anyone that in order to do something of a Psionic nature that you might actually have to have some Psychic ability in the first place??
Like I stated earlier unless the original poster of this thread tells us exactly what kind of Astral Projection she is trying to accomplish and what techniques she has already tried and failed at (when it comes to the use of her third eye) we will never be able to answer the question properly...
and since Siren86 has not come back to repost in her own thread I guess the disscussion on how best to help her is sorta pointless.
Everyone has psychic ability to some degree, yes? But they must FEEL that they have psychic ability in order to create a more powerful connection with their spiritual being.
You may be what is known as a "dreamscape vampyre" which is a form of astral vampyre that travels astrally while sleeping and feeds from those they see on the astral plane. I always get my energy off my boyfriend when we are sleeping next to eachother.. and you will know because you will dream about it also.
severus and fizbop called it right.. maybe you just can't focus.. maybe, you're allowing distraction?
When i sleep, I seem to travel to my best friend and lay down with him and sleep. Many times I have received a message telling me that I have kneed him out of bed onto the floor, punched him (I was apparently having a bad dream) or even .. uh .. You know.. Him.
I have a friend in the UK who swears that as he was speaking to me one day online that he kept seeing me out of the corner of his eye laying on his bed. This was prior to him ever seeing what I looked like.
From my somewhat limited experience, and as none of it was voluntary, it really does come down to being able to quieten the mind and body, and loads and loads of practice.
All of the times I have projected it has been to one person. That is because I trust him unconditionally. On One occasion someone has come and collected me for an astral journey.
seems reading through this, that like me, many found their first experience 'accidentally'.
for me, that second time was special ~ and yet, I have not been able to recreate it.
when I wrote of too much distraction... I could've been writing of me... easily.
So then have any of you seen the movie "Insidious"?
It is specifically dedicated to Astral Projection but it goes a bit further.
(Ignore some of the cornball acting and scenes, and go directly to the point).
Can someone go into Astral Projection and get "lost out there" and/or "never come back" and/or "be possessed by a ghost or being"?
Do you think that's at all even possible?
Anything can be done as long as one practices-- and does so on a consistent enough basis. If you're not entirely devout in your practice, you can fall OUT of practice and of course it becomes harder to do so.
I have been a practicing Pagan for nearly 15 years, and STILL have trouble doing OBE/Astral projection. I've recently started working on perfecting my 'take off' so to speak, again, now that my little one is older.
The biggest problem is distractions. The goings on around you, children or siblings (or even parents) can break concentration. Stress can lead to unrest of the mind AND body, and this can make things difficult as well.
Light meditation usually helps me, as well as turning the phone off, letting others in the house know I need not be disturbed, and letting my husband know I'll be 'working' in case the little one cries.
I've also set certain 'triggers' to bring myself back in case of deep astral work, for both my soul and personal body/vessel's safety.
You can also use the 'trigger system' to help you get into a calmed state to work on it-- but don't be discouraged if it takes time and effort. Like anything else, it takes acquired skill-- and that's coming from a bloodline tarot card reader and witch.
me? I thinks it's possible.
I recall my use of salvia dinorum.
an. that was more 'real' than real.
does anyone experience a weird tingling feeling on their backs before the astral body leaves the physical body?
The feeling you are describing happens to me at least, in the mid- to upper back, and center of the chest.
It almost feels like your 'center' is 'detaching.'
For some it seems to get in the right state of mind and body it may take some sort of drugs. What works for one may not work for another.
