Well in the old days they believed that your blood held the key to your soul, in some cultures even still today.

So would it mean that when a Vampire takes your blood then this is why they are connected with you . Meaning you are sharing your soul with them.

Something I have wondered about. So are they really soulless if this is possible. ? Would like to hear some views on this and if you believe that this is possible.

It would help explain the myth that if you kill the Sire, the others would be "cured" - a domino effect.

That is what I also believe that is they are connected by The Sire then yes they would die due to the fact that he holds a part of their soul, demmeeming them all connected to him. So then you do believe that the Blood holds a key part to your Soul?

It really could be..but..I have always believed that the key to the soul was in the brain and the heart. Those are connected by blood so it is possible I guess.

As you said DixieChic the brain and heart.... well the blood flows through it and maybe that is why or how that a Sire/ Master vampire can control your thoughts and emotions due to the fact that he has your blood also within him. It is something to ponder here. We all have always wondered if Vampires have a soul or not so do they or do they just collect pieces of each victims soul once they take them?

As soon as you can truely define a soul that everyone can agree with then sure. All I see when I look inside is the other side. Blood has mystical properties due to its linking with life (or what was alive).

I have heard stories of vampires having a connection with the people they feed from, so I guess this could be explained by the soul-in-blood theory. I personally can tell when my partner is is need of a feed before he tells me, when we were apart I would feel his need.

Yes I feel that there is a strong connection to the ones who share blood letting /feeding with one another. The blood is a strong attribute to our very existance, so therefore it must have some power that does connect anothers soul with their sire/partner through the feeding process, what do you think.?

many cultures believ the the key to the soul is the blood, and even hunters i have seen kill a animal in the woods will drink its blood to asume some of the spirit of the animal. and blood is life and the soul is the same.

That is true Cadrewood and a very good point. Alot of hunters have a ritual that you drink the blood from your first kill for exactly that reason to become one with the animals spirit. Some say it heightens your instincts for the next kill of course I do not hunt so I am not sure if that is true, yet many do believe it to be.

I suppose I could agree with the idea that part of the soul inhabits our blood. The Mohawks, so named because they ate their enemies, believed that by consuming the heart of their enemy they could obtain their enemy's powers. This is of course dating very far back to before the Great Peace. My research on the topic is very slim, so if any have better or more accurate info - I'm more than willing to hear it.

well no one can really define what the soul is or if there is a soul so to define it would be impossible. We just assume or believe what one maybe or is. I feel maybe Blood has a connection as what the soul is. many cultures believe strongly in how blood affects things in their cultures sooo....

I do not know what or where the soul is, but i doubt that it has anything to do with our blood, i have always thought that the only reason that a vampire was supposed to take blood was to replinish their own, i personally do not think it has anything to do with our soul...

i feel the blood and the soul are strongly connected. So i believe that if u drink the blood u do get part of the soul. and i believe that vamps do have a soul of some sort.

It would make sense that a bit of your soul can be passed through your blood. It explains a lot of things, like why vampires are supposedly connected to their victims and can influence them even from a distance. Whether the vampire itself has it's own soul...depends on the vampire I would think.

Would explain many things, namely the fact that certain individuals who are in love where a vial of blood on a necklace of the one they think is their soulmate. Blood and Soul are rich ingredients for several movies as well.

Even when we were kids we would become "blood" sisters or brothers by cutting and mixing bloods on your arm or whatever....... I think it all is connected in even the tiniest of ways.

I don't believe that after one feeds off of another's blood that they take their soul completely, but maybe they become connected to the soul of the one they fed off of........

Blood possesses energy. You can choose to term this energy "soul", depending on your beliefs. Anything's possible.

soul-less i would have to disagree but i believe when you become a donor you are giving..sharing part of you,look at is as a conductor of sorts instead of you souly having energy from your own source now that you have been fed upon through blood you now have another source in connection with your energy much like a remote controll per-say.

It really could be. I have always believed that the soul was anchored in the brain and/or the heart. Those organs are connected by blood so I would imagine that the blood does have a connection to the soul.

our blood does connect everything and so therefore this is why that the Blood has a powerful force over us and many other cultures.

most people tend to think that vampires are evil beings that have no soul, and just go around sucking pplz blood. but the truth to all of that is that yes, we do drink blood, but we usually have donors, or you can just go to the buchers and ask for blood. and of course we have a soul, otherwise we wouldn't be able to feel any emotion.

I agree that, in my opinion the blood is connected to the soul, which brings up another question. What of those who have had a blood transfusion? Do they now share a soul with the blood doner?

well they have said that people who have recieved organ donations that they tend to have some charateristics of the person who was the donor soooo .. that is another thing that connects our blood with anther person.

your souls is connected to a lot of things so yes your blood is in affect part of your soul but the soul I believe needs to be given so it depends if the blood is given freely or taken

well I do not see where it would matter if it is given freely or taken the blood is still a vital part of that person therefore it becomes a vital part of whomever take it freely or not .

unless they recieve more from them if ir is given freely .

I personally think that when you are bitten by a vamp you have a type of blood bond to that vamp. this allows them to find you when they need to. also in a manner of speaking yes your blood does carry a piece of your soul. that is why there are so many lost souls in the world around us. They have lost a part of themselves that is not replaceable. at least that is my thoughts on the subject.
So basically yes I think it has very much a part to play with your soul.

I believe that blood and the soul are connected as since blood is the energy of life. And therefore bound to the soul. That is one reason why finding a trusting realiable donor is key, finding one who is so willing and trusting to give their lifeblood is a rare thing indeed. Or at least I have trouble finding donors willing to have tests done.

Yes I think that it is possible that when vampire feed he takes a bit of your soul.

It is my belief that your soul is simply the energy patterns that make up a person. This energy is contained w/in your blood, therefore when a vampire feeds on your blood, in essence they are getting a part of your soul.

Now whether or not this means that this is what connects you to the vampire that makes you is debatable. Considering the fact that it is the blood consumed by the..child for lack of better words, that makes you a vampire, not the vampire bite or feeding on you. A vampire may feed on you and simply kill you, there is no connection made at that point.

One of the better thoughts that I have heard in while. If that is the case then can there be conscious thought without a soul? Or could there be emotion without a soul? If the vampire had not fed from anyone would he have the characteristics of a soul.

It is hard to answer a question built on such speculative entities as vampires and souls. We do not have concrete proof of either one (please don't stone me!!!)

From the movies and the books, I always thought blood was just symbolic of life. Maybe the soul is in our blood stream, maybe its invisible in our lungs, or pinky toes- who knows.

But I can say with certainty that the mythological vampire was drinking blood and thus life and that the modern psy belives they are drinking life with or without the blood of the donor. I don't think consuming a soul fits into the modern day vampire hungry. Its energy and life.

to put it in short words yes we have a soul when you kill a sier they are not"cured" as far as what happens when we feed we take that persions life into us ergo we feal what they do also take everything of that persions life into us

I firmly believe that a vampire has a soul, even though it may be made up of bits of their victims. If the 'soul' is in the 'blood', then that would make sense. Maybe vampirism isn't only drinking blood, it is the loss of ones own soul and therefore it must be taken from victims? Something to think about..

I feel that the soul is possessed in all parts of the body, and since the flow of blood naturally passes it can be reasoned that blood does contain fragments of the soul. However, I follow the belief that when the head is cut from the serpant the snake dies... So from this aspect there is no going back....

blood and the soul being connected I sapose it's posable...but for me as one of the lower vamps according to the sangs I don't need to feed off blood to feed on a soul I can and do just feed directly from it...the only time I need blood is to feed the demon half of me

Vampires are the undead right? So what is left of them? Technically they wouldn't be people..but because they look human they are not monsters either....

In my opinion yah...I do believe they have souls, maybe a little tormented but souls. As Wolfsbohne said it would explain a lot of things and even why in some movies and books vamplings have the memories of their Sires as well.

As for the original question of people being soul-less after a bite, to loose your soul you would have to have all your blood bleed and not some of it. Otherwise you would be partly soul-less. lol

as psi is a endergy form of feedign also called prana which is ones soul or essance it is enevitible that one gets connected to their donor by feeding this is why most have just one or 2 donors as it is a intamate experience
