so the question i have is does any one feel they relate to the celtic animals for those of you who dont know what they are here they are:These are just a few of the animals the Celtics refer to as the most sacred ones they worship

Serpent ( snake ) - The snake or a serpent is worshipped for it`s healing and tranformation properties ( since it is able to shed it`s skin ) it is also thought to be connected to the underworld since it lives underground , usually around Imbolic the Celts say a chant to see if the snake will come out of hibernation to show the changing of the seasons.

Cattle ( Cows or Bulls ) - Are worshipped for fertility reasons and wealth and abundance reasons

The Crane - Is used for water magick due to it`s connection with water , in latter times the crane became to be associated with fear or suspicion due to legions of women taking the shape or form of cranes.

Hound ( dogs ) - The hound is one that is the symbol of loyalty , protection , dedication , and healing (since it is well knowen that a dogs saliva is full of healing propertys to the Celts) many Gods and Goddess are portrayed in pictures on temple walls with there beloved dog faithfully by there side.

Swan - It is well known that swans mate for there intire lives with only one other swan therfore to the Celtics the swan represents love , partnerships and harmony in ever lasting love

The Boar - The boar symbolizes strength and courage and also determination , the Celtics always held a sacred boar hunt just right before Samhain , but after that they would be left alone to mate , they were also a symbol of journey into other worlds and adventure for these people

Salmon - The salmon was always refered to as wisdom in Celtic magick and also divine wisdom , it is said that in the fall , nuts use to fall into wells that salmon lived in and the fish would crack open these nuts and gain or take the wisdom out of the cracked open nuts.

Horse - Are one of the most sacred to the Celtics not only where they worshipped for strength and courage but also power but they where also worshipped for the land the lived on , they helped make the land prosper .

Raven - To the Celtics the raven was a messenger , one who brought wisdom or news or even omens to them , the raven has been associated with various Gods/Goddess`s in the past .Expecially the war Goddess`s who in legion were said to visit the Earth in the form of a hooded crow

Deer - The Celtics thought of the deer as a symbol of the power of nature , beauty , grace , and regeneration , in legion it is ofter said that the deer often entice people or lure them into a otherworld expieience or help them with a spiritual encounter.

hope to see some good answers

I can't really say I relate to these animals but during my meditations and visualizing exercises I find it much easier to sort out issues using these animals as symbols.

I find that trying to equate my personality with any one animal is difficult but that is partially because I have such a strong affinity with animals in general. However, based on Celtic virtues assigned to animals, I would say that even then there is a bit of all of them in every one of us.

Apparently my totem is a swarm of fish, so I would guess at the salmon. It would be nice to think my life was governed by wisdom:)

I can relate to a few of the animals, as would be with all people; I don't think that people can relate with all animals.

I relate to the fox myself as my totem animal. I know it is not listed as one of the major Celtic animals, but you can find references to it.

I also like how the ancient considered the rabbit. It was a symbol of omen. If you crossed a rabbit it could be good or bad depending on how it crossed paths with you. Supposedly, Boudicca released a rabbit before her battle with the Romans as a form of divination.

In the Celtic pantheon there are no animals. All the divinities are human like. The animals in The Song of Amairgin White-knee are the ox, hawk, boar, the stag, and salmon; they symbolize ideas and virtues. Also the horse, and the bull figure prominently in the mythology of the Celts, especially of Ireland. The Celtics are a basketball team.

I perfectly indentifie with the Celtic Deer, since it is simbolising the power of the Nature, wich is Pure, Positive, and its holy radiance has Great effect at regenerating ones body and the soul.
