Some here describe themselves as “Truebloods.” What is a Trueblood?

A few posts have suggested that the tendency can be inherited, but skips generations. How do Truebloods differ from your average human in terms of metabolism and immune system?

When tracing through generations, have there been any evolutionary changes and what are they?

if someone inherited the vampiric curse/gift then chances are that it would be diluted by the years to the point where the person who is might not even know.
as for finding someone who has 'pure-blood' ... good luck, though your search may be fruitless

What amazes me is being a Vampire is sometimes referred to as a gift..I dont know about you,but my soul being bound to flesh for eternity would not be considered a gift in anyway. At least by me it wouldnt.
Im thinking that by "trueblood" they are meaning a purity of genetics in some Vampire line. Not sure tho.

The answer to that question is as ambiguous as someones definition of a true vampire.
It all depends on what you beliefs are in vampirism.

so good luck getting answers.

i myself believe that a trueblood is one who is born a vampire where there are others who have been changed into a vampire.

The people who have used the term in this forum are the ones who can answer this question, and perhaps anyone fortunate enough to have discussed the matter with them.

Anything else is speculation.

This is a direct question, and deserves a direct and complete answer.

Well I myself am An American Indian and I consider myself a True Blood as to my heretiage and also my gifts that I and other members of my family carry. So I am not sure if you mean that or just people whom consider themselves to be of some true line of the ones that are in history as Vampiric...

DarkLadyDahlia: Truebloods in a vampiric or sanguinarian sense is what I mean because that is the spirit of several posts having to do with vampiric genetic traits, habits, awakenings, identification.

Well i am gonna have to agree with DLD that the only true bloods I can see actually proving oneself would have to be a blood line / heritage otherwise I wish anyone luck on the other as to the vampiric nature of a trueblood. Just my opinion is all.

It is very hard to prove any TrueBlood heritage in my opinion.

Good luck in finding a real vampire nevermind a true blood.
I have a personal dislike for those who claim to be something with no proof.
I also have a personal dislike for those who counter my need for proof with "How can i prove it to you? "
Show some Initiative.

a true blood, that's sounds difficult because if your going by lineage of a long time ago then it's gonna be more than a pain but if you just mean a family that passes it on to there kids then that would be alot easier.

I think that “trueblood” is just another term from stories and a couple of movies. Since the only requirement to be a vampire is the desire to be a vampire I think the term “trueblood” is basically meaningless.

like i said if your family has a few vampiric members than maybe you can get it through genetics but i don't have even one relative that is vampiric and i am, so i don't really know how to explain that by genetics only by the spiritual, but again i think it could be both ways just depends.
true blood from the people who i have heard use the term always try to make themselves out to be better, atleast in the last forum they did.

I think some people have traced a liking for blood throughout several generations, but that alone doesn't distinguish them from the run-of-the-mill fetishist blood drinker.

There may be a whole host of other attributes, sensitivities, extraordinary perceptions, and awarenesses associated with the designation.

This is all speculation on my part based on readings within this forum. I could be totally wrong.

The term has been used. Just wanting clarification.

DarkLadyDahlia and AngelInHell have expressed it well, and bloodmother has posed a great question. An Indian heritage can be passed on, but vampirism is not passed from generation to generation. Only from imagination to imagination.

This will sound odd to someone who doesn't understand or believe. But a true biker understands the difference between a poser, a wannabe, and the real thing. It has nothing to do with what you ride, or what you proclaim, it has to do with what you do and who you are. And it is the same here. You either are, you respect those who are, or you claim to be.

With this post, I will not be speaking for the community as a whole, nor applying to this as if it were an interview. I will leave the establishments of interview to those of whom are qualified for such.

The knowledge partianed through this post is to be taken with a grain of salt. Too each their own ideals, theories, debating systems or whathaveyou. You asked, I answer. But bare in mind that this is no science experiment, to poke or prod at that which is unknown to you.

The individuals I know of whom are "trueblood" as I am, would more than likely agree with what I write within this post, but some of the information we have to provide is as always on a need to know basis, and some would not nessessarily come out in public to share said information openly.

First of all, the term "trueblood" is a recognition for those whom are not in the stereotypical lifestyles such as roleplay, sanguin, psi...Or whatever word society feels obligated to put themselves in.

"Trueblood" is not nessessarily a bloodline per say. Though it is inherited, it does not mean we have a romanticized bloodline. We do not come from Dracula, or Bathory or any other popular characters of history...Nor do we come from "other planets" (chuckles). As far as I know, with my geneology studies, the lineage goes as far back as old Germania. This I am afraid may be all that I can divulge at the moment.

Metabolism and immune systems...This question I have answered numerous times in many differant threads, but once again, I will explain it; We do have a much differant immune system then the average individual, we do get sick every once in a while, but it usually passes within days. Myself, I get a mild cold maybe every 7 or 8 years or so, but it passes quickly and is quickly forgotten about.

We are NOT immortal. We do age, just slower then the average individual. Maybe your 5 years is equal to 1 of ours. Something to that extent. But we are by NO means immortal. You shoot us, we die, you stab us, we die. Physically we have the same body structures as you.

I as usual will not give knowledge partaining to "feeding" habits, as this is like speaking about ones sex life. Just won't happen.

The evolutionary changes is the hardest question I think to answer. This is an area I have not studied as thoroughly as I would like. We do not sprout wings, nor jump 15 feet in the air. This is all movie fiction.

The heredity does indeed tend to skip generations, but then again doesn't your normal heredity do the same? Such as balding, or cancer? I would not say I am lucky nor unlucky to be the way I am...This is the furthest thing from my mind.

We live, we die, we go to work, live regular lives as all society should, we just carry ourselves differantly as is expected from every other individual I see walking down the street.

Like, dislike, love, or loath...Paper work proof, living proof, proof as fact, this word proof seems as apparent to me as faith is to an individual of religion or a married couple...You know you are married...Paperwork is for legal purposes alone. I have geneological paperworks to prove what is what, as well as hospital diagnosis. Some of which is confidental and for credible eyes only. Again, not saying we are special. Just is.

You asked, I answered. This subject as usual may get either heated in debate, with the skeptics around, but...To each their own as usual.

On a side note, I whole heartedly agree with Shadowfevers post concerning true bikers. Very well put analogy.

Nothing within my words declare that "trueblood" are dead. We are very much alive, can and have reproduced. Some are just physically incapable to have children for certain reasons.

Hollywood and the media create the fictional "undead" creatures widely know as "vampires". We are neither dead, nor undead. Not to my knowledge anywho.

That is interesting Soulshroude,thank you.
So,if it comes down to immune systems and such does this mean anyone who hasnt had a cold for a while or who ages slowly would be considered a trueblood?I havent had a cold in over 15 years..peeps say I dont look my age(or act it for that matter) I certainly dont fit the stereotype of the vamp..so,does that mean I could be a trueblood? I get your point yes. But for identifying yourself as "trueblood", there are certain signs and characteristics one would know about themselves from the beginning.

Most do not know these characteristics. In messages only will I shed light on these. Those of whom have the initiate may learn a thing or two.

(Chuckles) A blueblood Trueblood, kind of has a bit of a ring to it.

I think the only reason why I put the answer...In message only was simply for the fact that not very many would care about "trueblood" other than it would be just another name for vampire.

Trueblood is another name for vampire, but not the hollywood style as I have stated before. Rather it is an adopted name refering to those whom are rather than those whom claim to be.

All sarcasms set aside for a bit, I use the term "trueblood" to counter act the term "pureblood" as it has become an overly used term for movies, and other aspects.

Adolf was wanting a pure race, but unfortunatly the blood differs between all individuals no matter who you are. Bloodlines always exist, but the image of the individuals within the bloodlines never look the same. This is gee whiz, common sense.

I love the simple terms of what "trueblood" are, but unfortunatly most need a total meaning for what each characteristic is rather than just a paragraph.

Yes, it has taken years of hard work and studies to find the information I needed to ascertain the trueblood aspect of my life. From childhood stories from the grandames, to the photo albums we have from way back when. Some of the pictures, the clothing styles I have never seen.

yes, the feelings when we do feel them are twice fold. Most of the time my immediate friends think I am unemotional at times for this little fact. But when I do cry, or am angered, things happen.

Well, with truebloods (Purebloods?) there is a problem that arises. It's called inbreeding.

truebloods need to keep their blood "pure" so they are restricted severely by whom they are allowed to court and marry. This leads to frequent inbreeding and as a result, after many generations of inbreeding you get mutations and birth-defects.

Such is the case with the Royal Family of England. What most people don't know about are the many sisters and brothers the wonderful Queen Elisabeth II had whom were born, for lack of a more tactful term, defective. Fortunately, her Majesty was born healthy, but the stigma that those defects have caused, led to mass media all over the world thanks to the wonderful paparazzi and Poop-magazines like National Enquirer etc...

So getting back on track here, I'd say for anyone to be a genuine true blood, is highly unlikely, and extremely risky to the gene pool of any group which tries to remain so.

Let's focus on being who we are as a collective whole, adding our knowledge and experiences to the greater good of the species.

(Chuckles) Inbreds, this makes me laugh...

A species we may be, not mutated, if you would use the term species as apposed to human of differance. Asian, African, Caucasion, Mexican...Us.

Definitly not inbred, some of us may come from english decent, but we also come from the Greek as well.

Just as with the first two fabled men and women, which I will not speculate, just relating. We stem from the same gene pool, yes. But we do not consumate with family.

Just as with the men of certain cultures not changing their last names on account of marriage, these genes come from certain lines within the family...Not nessessarily stating there is only one strand of bloodline. There are many actually.

My vampiric tendencies (psy) seem to run in my family.... but I by no means would even consider claiming that that is what a pure blood is or that I am one. lol as a matter of fact I have so much heritage from so many different countries I consider myself a mutt and you know... I'm actually proud of that. Totally clueless on this pure-blood business though... I highly doubt that there are any. (at least when it comes to vampires.)

hmm... cuz to me a pure-blood would be someone who.. if it be a vamp... had both parents be vampires and all of thier parents be vamps to.... really seems almost impossible to me.

Tell them you're not talking about movie vampires, that there are mortals, human in every way, who claim extrasensory perceptiveness --- a sixth or even seventh sense, perhaps, or a sharpened or acute sensitivity --- that can be traced back through many generations.

Oh, and they like blood, too, but that doesn't mean they're hunting for victims on the mean streets of the world.

That's the way I understand it, but I'm open for correction.

i dont think we can have trueblood in what we consider modern vampires... of course none of us have a lineage with any vampiric ancestor (if there is any...)

what i think is that pure blood or true blood can be seen if you have some inheritage of other races... but not in the vampiric sense...

The term "True blood" or also referred to as "Pure Blood" is most commonly used amongst young vampyre and generally related to those who are trying to proclaim to be more than they truly are. Generally they are told by another vampyre or mortal playing vampyre that they are a true blood due to a dream or a feeling the other vampyre has had. Unfortunately we see this allot and even more unfortunate is the fact that these young vampyre play into it. I true or pure blood is a vampyre not tainted by mortality or human genetics. In this day and age the actual ideal of a pure blood existing is faint. I have run into many who claim to be of great age and true bloods, but upon further interview they are referring to past lives as well that they believe they have lived, and believe themselves to be reincarnated true vampyre. The sad ideal is they are as tainted by mortal blood as with the rest of us, but being what they are is not good enough thus they look for ways to make themselves even more respected. This works amongst the younger more susceptible vampyre but amongst the older of our kind, we just shake our heads at them. Form I have observed amongst the community over the years this is usually a ploy by a male vampyre or RPG to get the female vampyre interested in him that he may take them under his wing and well I think you get the point. The point is if a pure blood still walks the earth, he is not going to announce it to anyone and if he did it would be moments before he killed them. RPG’s cause much confusion in the community and can be a real problem in finding the truth, determining fact from fiction.

Also as per a vampyre not being able to have child......we need to leave what we learn through movies and stories out, is a vampyre truly a living dead creature? Or could a pure vampyre carry child?

Trueblood ? The only issue with maintaining pure-blood purity is that it requires either a lucky chance of falling in love with someone who happens to qualify as a fellow pure-blood or deliberately maintaining a prejudice attitude about who is acceptable.

Pure-blood families would be extremely rare, and thus are interrelated; given the limited selection of potenial pure-breed spouces, pure-bloods would get rarer as their numbers either become more liberal and marry out, so that their descendants are no longer pure blood.

There is nothing good or bad about being pure-blood, in and of itself.

My opinion based on what I have read is a true blood is one that is born from a royal bloodline that has not been marred by the intermingling of non royal blood.

Now what traits those carry? Those are subjective as to the bloodline that runs thru their family tree.

Like eye color, or hair color, those are past down genetically. I think those other inherent traits are passed in the same fassion.

I think trueblood is to be someone who hasnt been interbreaded for example, two races breading together. I dont believe there is no such thing as true blood anymore. In the pass it was forbidden to marry into another tribe so bloodlines didnt cross.

Utahvamp makes some very valid points regarding "Elder Vampires" for roleplaying purposes only. As I am neither roleplayer nor young at age...I see this conversation as a repititious Queen of the Damned movie narration.

From when the Talamasca was in the vampire club and the other vampires were mocking her as saying there are no ancients left. But in the end they were wrong of course.

Mayhaps we should start trying to understand older bloodlines rather than critisizing berating and belittling them. Some of us are too old to be mistaken for the none chelant behaviors of others, and some of us are young enough to adhere to the differances in understandings.

We should be teachers of the ways, not critics and manipulators like those of false media acknowledgements.

My opinion is given.

Hunters do not exist, this is another roleplaying term...Unless you are one of those zionist scumbags who come to New Orleans to chase down teenage goth kids with stakes and cross's (Yes, I have seen this happen.)

Soul,

Random question, can you tell me when they do this? I would love to go give those goth kids a what for, they should be the ones running the zionist scum out of that city... Oh well, it pays to keep enemies close.

Same goes for the lines of the old. Very much agree, that more inquiry and study is required in understand what is out there, then the nonsensical lunatic ravings of what is "thought not to be".

The world was thought not to be flat.

It was thought that was not a way to send something to the moon.

It was thought that man would never live past 30 and if they did they were old

It was thought that jews not fleas were responsible for the black plauge.

It was thought that innocent old women were responsible for the hallucinations other then the fungus of rotting grains which caused the witch hunts....

It was thought that the inquistion was doing gods work, when all it did was secure the power structure for other things. *shrugs*

There is more about this then is currently available we need to make the needed inquiries.

Random answer for Infernal, most of it happened during the 90's after the discovery and learning channels took the pleasure in putting New Olreans more so on the map partaining to vampires.

The zionists randomly came out to either rag or rage against the young adults.

Even going so far as to put their own biblical tarot readers tables in Jackson Square for free scripture readings...Just to mock the gypsy folk.

Fortunatly for the youngsters, after Katrina...All died down a bit, pun intended. I guess we will see what the future holds.

If it takes an act of nature to kill off stuff like that, I hope we have something effect every major state that doesn't vote blue.....oh did i say that allowed.

San Francisco might be the armpit of the west. While it lays on the edge of a sea of red. *shrugs* but even they need a natural thomping.

Anyway....Thats vulgar and crass. It goes to show that rudeness is supported by their people, and they have taught their offspring well. Its far easier to just be rude and ugly. So let them take the easy way out, right out the door.

*slides the train over and grinds it to a hault* Back on topic however, having been down there after Katrina hit, it does seem to have lost the newer flavors of things, while it exposes the even older under currents. The things which were there before the hype. During the hype, and will be there long after that city turns itself to ash.

Then again, most old cities like that are, especially here in the south.

This is a great debate through out the centuries, Please understand her question , Is there such of a pure race of vampyres, I beleave there is but the likes of anyone truley knowing them personally will never happen . Its like anything else some how science would destroy them because they don't understand anything they want to destroy everything they are scared of. I don't consider them true bloods or pure bloods, Just a species tring to survive through the ages. This question will never be answered.

Don't get me wrong Infernal, we are rampant throughout New Orleans after Katrina...It is fortunatly no longer a place for the would be zionists on rampage...More like a home for tourons who smile at devistation asking where it all happened and how much water we recieved...The ignorance of humankind at work once more.

I even had someone come up to me at work asking what the attractions were...As though New Orleans was a huge amusement park.

Buggers, the lot of them.

Not so much a secondary race of human per say. But just genetically more predisposed through the presence of certain markers, which I lack the proper authority to describe with any accuracy.

Finding them would be like doing work with the genome project.

Some vampires have been in cryogenic freezation or hybernation for thousands of years.
But since vampires live forever, there must be some 'pure' vampires left
