Just how I was gonna answer that email from a former fellow co-worker at Westwood (although the comments were equally divided between taking the high road and telling him the unvarnished truth, with a kiss my ass for good measure...lol)

Here ya go.....

First of all, my email- it was a nickname from one of the first people I ever talked to online- it seemed appropriate...lol

I have indeed decided to move on from Westwood. While I did enjoy my time there for the most part, I just don't think it is in my best interests to stay there any longer. I have found a job working for a ceramics and glass works studio, and it is a great challenge. And yes, they do appreciate my southern accent and charm, amongst other things...lol

I'm sure you know more than you're letting on, but it's behind me now. I enjoyed working with you and most of the others at Westwood, and I will miss you as well. Please give my love to Megan, and thank you for the kind email.

Luanne

I'd say that just about falls somewhere in the middle, wouldn't ya'll?

I started my new job on Tuesday morning. I left home a respectable, upstanding woman, who could hold her head up high and be proud of what she does.

I came home a smurf.

I painted over 100 feet of wall a shade of blue reserved for those enigmatic cartoon characters. And I ended up wearing most of it. After getting home, I found paint in my belly button.

Wednesday? Still a smurf, but at least I got the walls done.

Today, I looked like a pepto bismol bottle shit all over me. Oh, and let's not forget the neon green that shared some territory on me somewhere.

And while I was taking a breather and sweating my ass off ( I wish), Melissa walks over to one of my smurfy walls, bends over and says "What's this?" and starts flicking at the wall.

Ya know how sometimes someone will pick at a thread on your fav sweater, and unravel the whole damn thing?

0_o

she picked at the end of whatever it was, grabbed it, and yanked off about a foot of paint. She turned around, looks at me, and says...

"You're not going to kill me are you?"

Nope, cause YOU"RE repainting that part....

I love my job...LMAO

Then I got home, scrapped off about a quart of paint in the shower, sat down to check my email, and found this...

Farwell!

Hi Luanne,

First off…how do I not comment on your email address…very fitting!

Secondly…I heard the news that you are moving on from Westwood. I don’t know much about what has transpired over the last little while but wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed working with you all of these years and will miss you greatly.

I wish you all the best in the future and hope that your new work place will take kindly to your southern charm.

Good luck!

Right now I'm trying to decide if I should tell him the truth, which he probably doesn't give a shit about anyway, since he would have sat in on those meetings where lies and bullshit were poured as liberally as the coffee, or just say thank you and I'll miss you too.

Decisions, decisions.....

Think of it as a cleansing of the soul and tell him what is going on. Tell him to simply send someone in, to do an audit and see. Have fun painting, believe it or not, it is very good exercise. Glad you are having fun and you have the ability to joke with your boss now. *hugs* Happy for you!

I have an associate degree in art. I have been bartending for over 25 years. I have also been trying to find a new job, because the 'ol bullshit-o-meter has blown enough springs because of the crap at Westwood that I just couldn't take it any more.

So I applied for this job:

Ceramics Studio Client Service (Maple Ridge)

It is only 15 minutes from the house.

I sent in my resume and waited.

And waited.

And waited.

So I emailed the lady again.

Nothing.

So I emailed again. And I got this on Friday:

Thanks for your email Luanne!

I'm sorry that I am behind in my interview process. I had some issues come up with the construction process that I wasn't anticipating.

Would you like to meet for an interview today some time?

Let me know when you're available.

Melissa Kramer

the Create Shop

Unleash your Artistic Diva

I called her cell, left three messages, and she never called. After telling her I was available until 4 pm ( I had to be at work at 5) I emailed her and told her when I would be available Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Within 30 seconds of sending it, she called me back, apologized for not getting my messages, and set up an interview for this morning at 10 am.

By the end of the interview, I had a job, and not just a job, but a full time job with a ceramics place that isn't even open yet, and not just any job, but most likely her assistant manager, and at a higher rate of pay than what she originally listed it for. Plus, I get to start work with her, setting up, painting, getting inventory up and out, etc. So instead of starting in mid October, I start tomorrow.

I came home at 11:30, got something to eat, woke Scott up for work, told him the news, changed clothes, went to Westwood, and told them in very polite terms to KISS MY REBEL ASS.

Then I came home and burst into tears.

I am so relived I can't think straight.

For all of you who supported me when I was going beserk here in my journal, thank you.

For those of you who checked in to see if I was still alive (thanks to Lady Chordewa and the Kentucky gals) I really appreciate it. I know I have been gone, and not for the best reasons, but I'm back now.

And I feel so much better, you have no idea...lol

HOLY SHIT! CONGRATS!

When I first read this entry, I thought that it would end on a sour note, ie the interviewer was a flake. I'm so glad that this was not the case!

I cheered when I read that you left the bar...there were just too many assholes there.

it's so nice to have all of that drama and bullshit lifted from your shoulders, huh?

Again - congrats, Red!

Fucking A! Oh- when you say you told them in very polite terms to KISS YOUR ASS.... I so want to know how that went.

Seems like the lady needed help, with all the calls to just get an interview even.

Wishing you the best, as always sis.

I fell in love.

I moved to Canada.

I got addicted to hockey, in deference to my new family.

NOW they have a lockout. No pre season games until Sept. 30, and possibly no games at all this season. Hundreds of people out of work because a bunch of selfish players can't get more money.

*snort*

wow.....

3rd one in 20 years....

It was really sad to get a box in the mail with two new Sabres shirts that my father sent me on Monday. I opened the box and sort of just stared into it all sad. They are folded up all nice until they start to play.

And part of it is the owners. The owners wanted to cut their pay by 20%. I don't know about you, but if my boss comes up to me and goes "Well, we've had record breaking increases in revenue, but I'm going to cut your pay by 20%" I'd be pissed.

The players were fine with playing under the current agreement, it's the owners that can't behave nicely. :(

Stephen King Sets Release Date for Sequel to 'The Shining'

Times Read: 629

Stephen King revealed the release date for his novel Doctor Sleep, a sequel to The Shining, will be Sept. 24, 2013.

The author posted the news on his website this morning.

The Shining was published in 1977 and served as the basis for the hit 1980 movie starring Jack Nicholson.

King previewed a portion of the book during a reading at George Mason University on Sept. 23, 2011.

A recap of the event said the book will follow Danny Torrance, the son from the original, into adulthood.

According to i09, "Danny is a hospice worker who uses his powers to help ill patients to pass away without pain. Unfortunately, he runs afoul of a gang of wandering psychic vampires who feed on people's energy."
