Which among us believe love is still alive, i know thier was a poll on it but i would like to hear as to why you got your answer. i for one believe love is completly dead and infatuation lives on. please take it from here

as with all thing being talked of lately.....love...is different to each persons definitions....For example...I know I love my girlfriend...but due to the circumstances of our relationship many would say it is nothing but infatuation......

to truley love someone is to put there happiness before you, even if it's not your girlfriend or boyfriend....if that comes naturally without you pretending that's true love...

I am a huge believer in non-sexual love and enjoy it very much. This non-sexual love is love like with your parents, siblings, friends etc... .

The reason I find sexual love repulsive is because it tends to complicate things in my view. A certain bond is formed that makes one inclined to keep that bond. Sounds all well and good except for the fact that I fell a more pure bond is created in the absence of sexual activity. ( A bond I trust to be much more stable and clear). I see teenagers today constantly jump into such relationships and then I watch as they quickly die. I see people take their time before going into such relations and I see the relationship become atleast slightly forced, and hesatant. I see none of this in simple friendships, which can have their own levels of commitment and love, but none of which was quickly gained, forced, or hesatant.

In short terms I believe in love in the absence of sexual activity. I believe that when love is generated in this form it is pure(hope it turned red this is the first time i am trying this). When sexual activity is involved love becomes impure.

as stated above somewhere when sexual activity is involved a certain amount of commitment is generated and people tend to work off of that bit of it. So with how people generaly use the term love, yeah it is a long dead cause. Which is why I subscribe to my own branch of it.

people are obsessed with love and falling in love ..it drives me nuts ...why are there not more words to discribe the many wonderful things we feel for each other ...if i really like someone and tell them i love them they get freaked and think i want to marry them or some shit ...when all i mean is that i really really like them more than another person i know ....grrr...lol i give up it drives me crazy lol

Love in many aspects is like a flower or a child, it starts out small and through feeding, and watering it, it will grow to become a beautiful rose or lilly, or as a baby it will grow into a young beautiful boy or girl. But just like the flower, if you neglect it, do not water it or feed it, it will die and you will have nothing but a blacked dried out decayed sprig of nothing, or a young adult who cares nothing for themselves or the world in which they live in. It's up to the individual as to wither love lives or dies.... Just my take on things ...

No one ever said love wasn't painful, but you can take that pain and you can let it fester like a boil under the skin so it permeates and grows and before you know it y'r covered in ugly hideous sores. Everyone speaks of love and how to "keep it alive" as if you could control it, anyone who has ever truely loved someone, i.e. your family, boy/girl friend, or your children know how you can not control who or how much you love, though things affect how you feel, it is not as if you could actually control it. For those who are capable of feeling the emotion, it is alive in that sence. Some people refuse to feel, trying to shelter themselves from more pain, and don't realize that without suffering there is no enjoyment -no love. There is no balance.

As Gorey is always saying, 'love is a term that is both underused and overused' and I think he's right. There are always threads about love here, so it must be on everyones minds at some point. If its on everyones minds then it must be important to them, therefore how can it be dead?

Why is that? if those two people did truely love each other thatn they would not have gotten divorce they would try to work it out, If the y loved each oother nothing would be able to seperate them, they would die for each other, kill for each other, but the only place i see that kind of love is in the movies, and we all know that the movies aren't real

you know, I think love is questioned too much, the existance of love, the meaning of love, the definition of love. It's just foolish to be banging our heads over something that just IS.

I believe "Love" is a very complex emotion but also that it is alive. If a person doesn't have any love in there life, I don't just mean a girlfriend/boyfriend. I mean love in a general sense than life isn't worth it. Because I might sound corny or whatever but is life really worth living if you aren't loved or don't love?

Well lets see how to put this. Since the 1st of the year I have been seeing a new woman and I would say love is alive and well around here. I am not one to care so easily for another so that is just proof as to how special she is to me.

hmmm? this is all intresting, many have expirience thier love from another man/women and it has been strong enough for them to feel love. I have not yet had this feeling and am very confused about it when ever i hear a guy ranting on about his girl i get sick to my stomach and it just plain irritates me. but i can see its pretty life changing to some.

Well at one point in my life I believed there was love but realized it was just physical attractions and sexual wants and needs to be fulfilled. Love,, mmmh there are so many different kinds of love. You can love for one thing and hate for the next thing, this is cute and that is annoying. True actually all above adoration love. I do not know if this exist. if it does it is no where near where I am. The people I am surrounded by are greedy and flaky; being nice only at the time for wants and needs to forget the life that they live in that they do not care for.

I personally believe love is dead. I'm pregnant with a man's child who hasn't asked once thru the entire pregnancy how the baby is doing. If a father can't have love for his own child, I really wonder if love is alive any more.

I think it all depends on each person. I myself felt love for someone, then to have it torn away from me by that person. There is always hope of finding love with someone again. I don't think love ever dies, it just waits for the right time.
