Do you remeber your dreams when wake up? What are your dreams like? Do you often have nightmares?
I could remeber dreams when I wake up, but I can't do that anymore. I rarely remember my dreams now. :(
That's happening for the last two years.
I don't know how to dream anymore... I practiced "lucid dreaming" also, but now I got black nothing in period between going to sleep and waking up.
i dream but i dont alway remember, when i dream much of the time i feel like i have something sticking stright out from my back, i dont know what but its something. some of my dreams seem like regular days nothing ironic or other dreams i have i am ready to get into a fight or i am fighting, -_-' maybe its because i watch too many Jacki Chan movies.
i have had a period of time when i stopped dreaming. all i did to get back my dreams was to think of somehing that i wanna dream about and my thought becomes my dream. i try to remember my dreams by writing them in a journal i keep under my mattress.
i dream all the time, i remember some dreams but only intence ones mostly of me near death, but aint had that kind of dream in a while
oooh, i love those dreams in which i'm near death. i wonder why those are the only ones that i could play in my head over and over again after months of having them.
We all dream, that's a fact, but some of us can and some can't remeber it. That's why is said that some people and other don't.
sometimes i can remember my dreams when i wake. my dreams are just images of my real life just with better things happening and different out looks on my life . i rarely have nightmares if i do its because sounds around me make dreams into nightmares.
I do remember my dreams and some of them are just plain weird, others are nightmares, and still others are erotic (me making mad passionate love to vampires)
now that KeiraSionnach
mentioned it! Did you ever cum while having an erotic dream?
i can actually say until recently, i hadn't had a dream that i can recall in over 4 months.
i only have dreams when i am in a very happy state, and have something to be really happy about.
There was a time when I had very intense erotic dreams, but it seems like ages since I've experienced one (and yes, erotic enough to reach paroxysm).
Lately, though, it seems that I dream not, but know in fact that I do~I just don't retain them upon awakening.
I am one of the many few people that dreams of the future... sounds stupid right... but I have the most extreme case I've ever seen. Ill dream something and six months later My dream will happen...I dont usually say anything...you know what the reaction would be. But still.. its happend for the longest time and still freaks the hell out of me.
I've had a total of about 3 dreams in the past 4 years that I actually remember.
I rarely ever remember dreams past the first few seconds awake...
Sooohxcore, the same thing has happened to me quite often. That's not such an uncommon occurence.
Most of my dreams are fixated around things that have been left "unfinished" or unresolved. I ahve alot of dreams about packing up and leaving this town too. I want to get out of here so badly, I literally dream about it.
for the most part, when i dream i can remember bits of it
I rarely remember anything after I awake but sometimes I will dream of something yet to happen but I never remember it until it is about to happen.
I haven't but that is to be expected....I'm a female for God sakes! LMAO
There are times that I dream in black and white and there are times that I dream in color and there are even times that i don't dream all night (those are the peaceful nights) I can remember almost all of my dreams...the more detailed and grafic or strange the dream the more I will remember. My dreams vary too...I've dreamt about falling from the sky into eternal darkness to being torn to shreads by savage wolves. Then again there are also dreams that are pleasant. heh...but if you are having trouble dreaming...someone already said it. Set something into your thoughts right before you fall asleep and ten to one you will most likely dream your thoughts. It is one way to make your imagination come to life so to speak.
The only dreams I can remember are the one's in which I die.. And thats once a month or something..
BoBo, thats reminds me. I got told that you could never die in yuor dreams or it was not ment to happen. But, i recall a dream where i actually died, it was crazy liek all dreams. but i remember i was being chased by some kind of Law (police) and i was runnig with some bandits or gangsters.. i can remember there was about 6 of us, creeping/jogging along a very muddy river bank, i can recall slipping in the mud and falling into the water, where a crocodile came out of the water and began death rollnig me, i felt this like i was there!! anyhow, i called out to my buddy (i guess he was my buddy) to kill me shot me in the head, to end my death quickly and not give the croc the satisfaction of drowning me.. i watched as this dude, mexican looking, took aim and shot me in the head, with what looked liek a shot gun, i recall vividly staring down the barrel ogf the gun.. then *BANG*.. i felt a very sharp pain, then nothingness..... thats all i remember.. When you die in your dream.. you never forget it thats for sure!!.. never had that ahppen ever before or again, i don't want it too.. and i rarely dream now.... That dream was last year... All i will sya is,, dreams are related to what is going on in your life.. thats for sure, and if you take drugs and stop this.. it effects your dreaming also, there are many factors.. But, eat a block of cheese before you go to bed.. you will have nightmares.. fact!
as I said I practiced involving lucid dreams and to involve them it's needed much more then to keep a single thought in the mind while falling in sleep, and very often I could succeed, but now when I try to do that there is a point when comes blacknees, which earlier didn't happend and after that point everything is black until I wake up. :(
*to KeiraSionnach* :) I know you're a female, you reminded me of erotic dreams, and I asked everyone
I dream alot.....mostly violent ones..........hehehe I scare people as when I wake up I sometimes have a blade in my hand (I must sleep walk to get it).
Have had some interesting dreams lately though........definetely not violent.... ;)
yes I dream all the time, remembering is not always there.
There are certain dreams that I know I have that are reoccurring, wierd dreams. Violent ones.
I've also have had dreams about zombies and being with my brother and younger sister in these dreams. Though I have other sisters and family members; my brother and sister are always in the zombie dreams with me.
I've had dreams of being with friends and going to parties, even hanging out with people I havan't hung out in years and there would be a horrible bus crash off the side of the bridge going somewhere. One of my friends owns a bus. In that dream there was a person in there I hadn't hung out with in years, this past summer I hung out with him.
I've had a dream where it started out being in a house and the house wasn't completly built but there was a party going on, then all of a sudden the holes in the floor were no longer the and the house was built. Then somehow being in a hole by barbed wire fences and gun firering happening in the distance.
There was this one dream I had serveral times and I would be walking by train tracks then there would be people with lights looking for something. Searching for people. In the dark. The sky dark, then there was a hill where the train tracks ended and the ocean was suddenly visible and down on the beach by the tunnel under the train tracks. In the seaweeds was two babies in blue clothes. Lifeless in the weeds but they weren't scary looking. Dark skinned babies.
I've more dreams to talk about but I can't remember any at the moment,
I will ask this though
De Je Vu
sometimes I dream of something and it happens the next day or something I will remember that happened in a dream when speaking with someone or seeing someone. Or even when someone coughs and someone at the same moment lites a cigarette and the phone rings. I see in dreams and then it happens.
DE JU VU
I do not know
I try to keep a dream diary. I write down;
What I can remember of all my dreams,
The time at night which I dreamt them (of course this is an estimate usually.)
The storyline (if there is one) the characters.
DOminant colours/emotions.
What type of 'me' am I? What am I?
I tend to look at it over eath month and, using dream dictionary I have, try to create rough guidlines of what is on my mind subconsciously, and what I can do in the waking world to improve/savour it.
We already had a thread that went through these pondering thoughts before, either that or I'm have an EXTREME case of Deja vu'.
Just my two cents.
Guess I could say it again, I have had nightmares, mostly based on vampires, for more than a decade...something like 15 years now. I have 80% of them in journals, so I am (I keep saying I will, but gotta really sit down and go through them) going to post some of them in my journal for all to enjoy.
Am seriously considering having it turned into a book, or a series.
*just my two cents.
I don't remember many of my dreams, I guess they are usually boring. But when they aren't I'll remember bits and pieces. I've also woken my briefly from a dream and like dit so much I rolled back over and forced myself to go back to sleep and gone back into the dream, most of the times.
The ones I remember in detail are the ones I'd prefer to forget, they are usually very vivid violent nightmares, that they make me physically sick, I've said before in other forum posts on this subject, they cause me literally blinding headaches, I can't see, nor am I sure where I am at for a several minutes. Sometimes the pain gets so bad I'm actually crying in the nightmare and wake up crying.
What is déjà vu?
The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all. Say, for example, you are traveling to England for the first time. You are touring a cathedral, and suddenly it seems as if you have been in that very spot before. Or maybe you are having dinner with a group of friends, discussing some current political topic, and you have the feeling that you've already experienced this very thing -- same friends, same dinner, same topic.
The phenomenon is rather complex, and there are many different theories as to why déjà vu happens. Swiss scholar Arthur Funkhouser suggests that there are several "déjà experiences" and asserts that in order to better study the phenomenon, the nuances between the experiences need to be noted. In the examples mentioned above, Funkhouser would describe the first incidence as déjà visité ("already visited") and the second as déjà vecu ("already experienced or lived through").
As much as 70 percent of the population reports having experienced some form of déjà vu. A higher number of incidents occurs in people 15 to 25 years old than in any other age group.
Déjà vu has been firmly associated with temporal-lobe epilepsy. Reportedly, déjà vu can occur just prior to a temporal-lobe epileptic attack. People suffering an epileptic seizure of this kind can experience déjà vu during the actual seizure activity or in the moments between convulsions.
Since déjà vu occurs in individuals with and without a medical condition, there is much speculation as to how and why this phenomenon happens. Several psychoanalysts attribute déjà vu to simple fantasy or wish fulfillment, while some psychiatrists ascribe it to a mismatching in the brain that causes the brain to mistake the present for the past. Many parapsychologists believe it is related to a past-life experience.
I often have dreams where I kill someone, or someone tries to kill me.
I dont dream i have preminitions. Its weird but a few months later i'll remember dreaming about it!
I rarely dream, which is very unfortunate. But when I do dream I can remember bits and pieces of it, sometimes it slips away the instant I wake up. Can't say I've ever had a nightmare(bummer). I usually don't dream, because I slip into almost a catatonic type sleep(I'm a very deep sleeper)
i have also had those dreams in which i could go to a place that i've never been to. for example, a year ago i dreamed that i was in this road under this bridge and today i saw that place that i dreamed of. i was freaked out.
So I've skimmed the post on this thread and so far it seems I'm the only one who loves dreaming. I almost always remember my dreams, and while they are random and strange as dreams usually are they are more often than not very vivid with plots and characters. I love going to sleep because my dream are like movies I get to act in, fantasies that are made real in my sleep. I don't write them down, theres too many. I've had most all of the kinds of dreams, prophetic, dying, falling, flying, ones about vampires, etc. I can still remember dreams from my childhood. Often I dream right before I wake up so I end up falling back asleep and continuing the dream with an added measure of control and consiousness (this makes it very hard to get out of bed in the morning becasue i want to keep on dreaming!) My mind makes up some great stories in my dreams, if anyone wants me to I'll post them in my journal.
When I was younger, about every night for 3 months, I would dream about who my friends and family my age would marry, what dates and where. As it turns out, all of my dreams were correct. Today, all I dream about is how I am going to take my husband's adopted sister's new baby away from her.... legally, of course. That's about it... and all my dreams are in spanish, which while I'm awake, I can't understand it at all.
i often remeber my dreams, and i barly ever have nightmares but when i do they are deep and scary. the last nightmare i had was my best friend had died. i woke up crying, i use a dream catcher so i don't get them when im in my room but when i sleep in other rooms where there isn't one i am more prone to them.
ya i dream. what i dream really all depends. it can be sexual and kinky and than they could be very textbook d-stirbing. some of them are violent and very omunious.
I have dreams every night but dont remember them all i control the ones i do. so they dont get out of hand. I dream mostly of life in my world and once in a while of demons.
hmmm I used to have vivid and disturbing dreams....
then I learnt how to lucid dream and the vivid was dropped 'cause I'd catch on that it was a dream and it would neagate the job that dream had to do.
I think the most recent dream I can conciously remember was I dreamt I was trapped working and was getting progressively less and less able to cope with it. I was slowly falling appart and so was my life cause I couldn't escape my fate. In the end I fell into being a useless burden.
Now I think it's important to note that I think this dream had a perpose of warning me and telling me that on a deep core level that I am dis-satisfyed....
If I had hi-jacked the dream with lucid dreaming I wouldn't have gotten the message......
I think that the dreamcatcher is only good as a placebo effect. I have a friend that had nightmares every night and they vere so real and vivid that she couldn't sleep properly, and she started to use a dreamcatcher, but it only helped for a few months until she forgot and get used to it that it's above her head. I gave her a few books about lucid dreaming and autosuggestion and it helped, though it may look silly trying to fall asleep while repeating to yourself:"I'll sleep well, I'll sleep well..." We even tried connecting dreams but it's very hard to be spiritual while being with an openminded person of the opposite sex in the same bed... so it didn't work... ;>
Hm thats interresting Dhampir.. And u are right, most of the times you just wake up before you really die.. Most of the times..
But just like you said, IF you really die in a dream, well, you'll never forget it..
hmm well im always dreaming!! i dont have nightmares. but i tend to have 2 or more dreams going on at once and they leak into each other until everybody begins to speak at the same time and then i wake up. i normally dream about being a slave or servant , or that im in a forest with mythical creatures, or that im on the rampage killing the people who i dislike.
i have dreams my psychotherapist loves, they are full of subliminal things, and i remember most.
My dreams are variations on one of three themes. The first are my violent dreams. I fight and totally destroy large groups of bad guy - sort of like Uma in Kill Bill. The second are my treasure hunting dreams, where I find loads of golden coins. The third are my school nightmares where I am either trying to take a test, but am unable to remember any answers, or am trying to find my class, but am unable to. I am invariably either naked or somewhat undressed, and am hoping the people around me don't notice.
As a kid I used to dream of the three stooges when I was sick - having that dream was a good predictor of whether or not I should stay home that day.
Sadly, I have no erotic dreams.
I'm currently in a phase where I can't recall my dreams and it seems to me like I don't dream at all.
Normally I used to dream about things that disturbed me, like a personal psychanalyst they used to tell me what exactly is wrong.
My dreams stopped when I had a dream about a friend of mine. It was at a stage, where I couldn't tell the difference between dream and reality anymore, so this dream really affected me. I dreamt about my friend, that she grabbed a pistol, stuck it in her mouth and blew her brains out. I dreamt it VERY graphically. Since then I haven't dreamed anymore, or so i have the feeling.
That means that you are in total control of your subconsciousness, which makes you superhuman, and I'm glad to meet one!
*flicks tongue at zlee*.....anyway I heard anybody can program their dreams....just takes a lot of practice to pull off granted it takes some people longer than others. Please explain more ^.^
i think the dreams that i do remember are those that either something unbelievable happens or where something devastating happens, but a lot i have been dreaming of wings for some reason, growing wings and becoming a false angel
:: licks KeiraSionnach's tongue :: ...mmm, tasty! Programming and preprogramming dreams are not the same things, though are very connected! Programmed dreaming can be also called Lucid Dreaming which is something you have to learn before trying to preprogram your dreams! Here is one of techniques:
''You have to have a recurring dream that has ocurred at least a few times. It's preferrably an odd event, like someone trying to kill you, or you being somewhere that makes no sense at all. It has to be unreal enough that you have thought about it in your normal waking hours and thought that's it pretty absurd to be having this dream over and over. Ok, so what you'll need to do is set some time aside each day to think about this dream / event that keeps happening to you and associate certain key phrases to it. Phrases such as, "dream", "not real", "asleep", "become lucid", etc. should work. Then after this is pretty programmed in your subconscious, you should eventually start to associate those phrases to the even while it happens in your dream and be able to become lucid.''
No need to mention that even lucid dreaming is very hard to achieve!
i used to write my dreams down and review them i used to have a book that would tell you what they meant but threw it out most of my dreams scare me
i know i dream all the time, rather not say how i know but anyway,
of the dreams that i can remember i would have to say atleast 95% of them have been nightmares. they deal with armegedon, hell (a most disturbing place to be) , my death, and one that stands alone, one of watching my father die very slowly and painfuly right before my eyes. i have even had a night terror before (which really sucked). come to think of it i can't recall ever having a good dream.
lately i can only assume that i am having nightmares because i haven't a an actual restful night of sleep (that i can think of) in months now. (for those who have seen fight club, things can become a copy of a copy of a copy ....)
I dream almost every nite and I always remember. The worse thing is that in presence I have more bad dreams or the dreams what makes you think of them...very strange dreams.
I do remember my dreams, and i always find myself looking up whenever i wake up from a nightmare
I dream of fwuffy bunnies and ickle kittens running in fields on sunny days...I dream of rainbows and presents filled with wonderful things and magical surprises.......
My dreams make me feel wonderful whatever they are...YAY!!!
that is when i can sleep ...when i am not here ..which is NEVER!!!!!!!!! ...*yawns*
I dreamed that I've been blocked by a certain user and I wonder why I've been dreaming that... It happend right in the middle of a dream without explanation.... One helluva nightmare! I envy you Sunshine because of your beautiful dreams!
Its odd that you have your dreams just before you wake up to.
I can't remember a lot of my dreams; but if I do they're too vivid or complex not too. I like having nightmares; Waking up scared, with my baddream with me. Yeah, nightmares are alright.
i do tend to remember some dreams... some of them can be really buggered up to the point of no return! i once dreamt i was marrying a pizza! i can see all those dream interpreters out there having a ball over that one if i were to tell all of it!
most of my dreams however are horribly, horribly vivid in a real ugly way... most of the time i just have nightmares. quite used to waking up four or five times a night, if i get to sleep at all lately. and yes i remember all of them and yes they're disturbing. ive woken up a couple of times with tears in my eyes...
I dream almost every time i go to sleep, and i have lots of different types of dreams.
Yea i always have that dream when youre falling but never hit the ground i wound what would happen if i do. Plus all the dreams i have is how i personally view the world
i dream pretty much every night and i can useally remmber the jist of them. i often dream stuff thats spose to be scary or should be but i am never scared in fact i enjoy those dreams but i am sure to most they would be called nightmares...
for Kabal (i hope the name is right):
you say you can pre-program your dreams, but is it right before you go to sleep or is it a day-long process?
i dream a lot, and i usually remember my dreams, but not all of it, sometimes just bits and pieces, someone once told me we all dream every night but we may not ever remember even having it, just sound sleep, idk if thats true or not but yeah
its wierd for me because i remember every dream. and every one of my dreams are in color wich from my dream book is wierd. ive never had a dream not in color. and i have preminition dreams too where i can feel everything in them like its actually happing.
I dream every time I sleep
They are called night terrors but some
Every fear realized every time my eyes are set to "rest"
Hence the amount of time spent awake and online
I have nightmares usually... it has been the same one over and over since I was about eight... Sometimes though I do have more then one dream. Sometimes in color, sometimes in black and white, sometimes everything is in the same color just different shades...
However, I wake up and write down what I do remember... it helps. After awhile you can piece an entire dream together!
if this helps anyone, so be it. i was reading this book about dreaming and i found out that the part of the brain that stores memories is off while you sleep, so ppl don't remember their dreams. the only way you can remember a dream is if you wake up while you're dreaming.
I don't dream, I have horrible nightmares...and I dream when i drink the blood of my victims...reading the memories and thoughts
There are times i have weird dreams and occasional communion with other spirits which is why i love going to sleep because i never know what to expect. I've had some of dragons, vampires, old gods, beautiful places ive never seen before *or could have*, and many encounters with others. I keep a dream journal just encase something arises and draw it out if i can. When you get messages is when you really have to sit and think about it. *winks*
oh yeah and by keeping a dream journal you can see about how often you have lucid dreams. Like for me, I have more odd dreaming around the fall season.
Everyone does :)
I remember most of my dreams..
They are often nightmares and sometimes I wish I don't remember it :P
But anyway, I love to draw my dreams, they are always different, twisted, scary...
Subconsciousness is one hell of a thing!!
I have had premenitions in dreams, where I have actually been able to roughly quote people on what they are about to say, although I haven't had any for a long time.
My dreams are usually so vivid that I feel like they are real, and I can feel everything. I love to dream, in fact I put an account of many of my dreams into the 'poetry' section fo my journalthen you will find an account of some of my dreams.
yes i remember my dreams when i wake up and some o them i have are nightmares that wake me from my sleep
*bites zlees lip* I am notorious for having some real buggered up nightmares...One was so bloody screwed up I had to post it in my LJ but my favorite dreams are of the erotic kind *gives innocent look* that too is posted in my LJ..XD
i remember my dreams sometimes. i alwayz feel everything in my dreams: when i fall, when i'm hurt (physically), when i'm touched (physically), and so on. recently all my dreams have been about love and stuff. i like my dreams. i sleep alot and the reason is so i can dream or daydream. i haven't had nightmares in a while
its hard for me to remember dreams sometime i remember them 5 days later. i think im gonna start a dream journal again. i did one for psychology class once and i thought it was neat. and they help you figure things out if you know what to look for
tonight i dreamt i went to sleep
only to find my fingers didnt
they kept typing away
in windows here and there
another night wasted for this ugly peep
