ok...

cliques are everywhere. the sites split into the top... the middle and the bottom.

the middle being ignored. the top being idolised and the bottom being laughed at.

nobody listens to anybody except the "big names" the posts in thoughtful threads get ignored just if the avatar isn't one they recognise.

and profile ratings have gotten totally out of control. some people only rate to advertise their own face. some people fight to get to the top page.

a persons status means nothing and everything. i.e. a person at the top is idolised but a person on a lower status that has been here longer is completely forgotten. unless the idolised recognise the old person they idolised.

that is why i believe this place is at least becoming a popularity contest.

instead of a site about vampires (which seems to be a brief topic, these days)

I was actually planning on ignoring this thread, not expecting anything more then "hi" "welcome" "You rock" "I rock" and so on.

I finally clicked on it mostly out of boredom, just to get rid of the new tag on the forum page.

Thank You Gorey. I'd have to agree. A lot of this site has become a popularity contest, and has been like this for a little while now. But at the same time, a lot of life turns out to be little more then a popularity contest. Especially the lives of what seems to be the predominate age group here. So I've realized this, and learned to tolerate some of the drivel a little better. Overall, there's still plenty of things on here worth putting up with the less pleasant things.

As for the caustic tone... Gorey was asked to share his opinion. Where's the problem in that?

(And Daire thinks he's scary, but I think his bat-suit is really made out of papier-mache and colored with crayons)

There are no exceptions to this rule. Everyone cares how others do and will view them.
