I know this sounds like a stupid question. But it is not as bad as it sounds.

What is a Vampire to you?

What kind of vampire are you, what are vampires to you, their meaning to you? I want to know what vampires seem to you and what they mean to you. I have no idea if this has been ask before but I want to ask it now. Have fun answering.

I don't know if I'm really a vampire, I wouldn't like to be a vampire, no offence to those noble creatures. I do feed on energy though.

I'm not a vampire so I can't tell what type I am hehe.

For me it is either an energy feeder or a blood feeder,not necessary feed for survival.

Also sexual creatures like those you see in the movies who make my dreams pleasurable lol!But that's in my mind lol!

Vampires to me?

Friend, lover, brother, sister, aquantance, son, niece or nephew. There was a point that there was no line of difference between them. To know so many in your family, you tend to overlook that fact of what they 'are' to 'who' they are.

I can only say with one with certainty, there is only ONE vampire I didn't like.

They have egoes bigger than the planet at times, others are so downtraught and stepped on they believe themselves lower than dirt.

It's all relative..........*wink

Vampires are sexual, charismatic, cunning, devious, confident, bloodlusting creatures of the night.
They also rarely become ill with human illnesses and are very rapid healers.
Many have Extra Sensory Powers and as a result often experience Deja Vu.
Are able to sense/feed off of energy/auras. They are intense and passionate a leave marks on people (whether visible as in bites or just leaving marks in ones mind).
Are sexual in the way that when they have sex (usually often, considering they can usually get their way through their charisma and charm) it leaves them energized.
Vampires also generally dislike sunlight/heat/light in general- so are, in esscence, nocturnal.

I consider myself a vampire in that I fit my own description of it, also many others'.

I have found Vampires Among Us' description of a vampire highly useful in forming my own opinion of vampires.

This is going to be unpopular but since the question asks to me. A vampire is a being that lives of the blood of other beings. And no I personally don't do this.

A vampire to me is pure evil, walking dead,hunting living souls to drain the bloods lifeforce. Its good to be the king..

A human with the ability to drain/give energy, really sexual, mysterious and with a really develop sensing ability.

i am not a vampire. I'm human, some of the things i do could be considered vampiric. i could be a psy-vamp. but i don't know if i am. and to be honest, i don't care, as ignorance is proving me with a life to live. so i'm not too bothered about trying to figure it out.

a "vampire" to me is a person with vampiric tendancies. needing some form of energy to continue life but through abnormal sources. either a lifeforce type of energy... or blood.

I feel that vampirism is a whole new perspective on the world and its energy sources, and an increased awareness in life. To drink blood and to feed off energy.

I dont think that mythical vampires are real, but I have a better way of phrasing it than you do Gorey, i.e. not by trying to offend everyone.

I have always liked this apparent 'dark' life, but vampirism isnt always dark, and neither is life, and I dont see why it should be considered as such. I also dont think that you need to be part of a house or a clan in order for your beliefs to be respected in vampirism.


However, most people dont like my beliefs.

My definition of a vampire is very broad-minded. Many do not even know they are.

Hollywood may have been right on a few subjects, but for the most part, like people, we have evolved. There are other traits that have been lost, like werewolves even, the shape-shifting is something you learn in time.

A vampire can either be mortal or immortal, and that even depends on your definition of immortality. Immortal as in "the flesh" mortal? Or immortal as even a name never forgotten. Immortal as in your spiritual energy lives forever. Immortal as in you've lived through hell enough in life to have died in mind, but you still go on.

You may have vampiric bloodlines that makes you a vampire, or you were turned by another vampire (maybe just by becoming so intrigued in the drinking of blood, that you become a blood-sucker/vampire. Maybe you are a psychic vampire. Your master vampire could be life itself, that drained you of your blood/life so much that you feel that you are an outcast to society. You could even be part witch/vampire/lycan...
Do you feel drained of life? Do you like the taste of blood? Are you seduced by the darkness it brings? The freedom? Maybe you ARE a vampire. Uncontrollable rage could mean you are a werewolf. Does your eyes change color? Do you eat raw or undercooked meat? Are animals attracted to you? A little hairier than usual? Maybe you are a werewolf. Do you have a psychic control over things sometimes? Do you wish things to happen and they do? Yada yada...you could be a witch. Maybe you are a little of each...

There are too many outlooks on this subject with so many opinions.

Vampirism could very much be looked at as just a religion.

Alot of people won't believe because they are expecting Hollywood explanations. Of course everyone wants to be Lestat. It takes alot of time, and open-mindedness, to achieve only a portion of the part that is actually obtainable.

Well what a weird question..I'm an energy vampire..so to me I'm a person who has the ability to gain and send energy to many living things. I also prefere a lifestyle that society finds to like only if its a fictional character. I am honestly more than that..I'm eternal only as a soul and not a body..I am me an energy absorbing being.

The question is what is a vampire to you? not what is a vampire to her or him and lets criticize it. Everyone is entitled to their own believes. Why must we ask such questions? It only leads others to be confused. I'm what I am you are what you are..life is that. Now we instead of pointing fingers and acting superior, should instead embrace what we are and be greatful that we are alive. Life if you are religious or not is a wonderful thing. I feel glad to be walking this earth cause what is ugly to you is beautiful to me.

I just wish for everyone to love each other. We claim that other social groups point fingers when we do the same to those in our own social groups. We as a very unique and diverse social group should embrace everyones individual beauty and be thankful that we can be accepted atleast somewere.

I don't speak with anger in my heart but with compasion and hope to be accepted. I don't want to create anger between me and others I just wanted to say what was on my mind because that is what vampire rave is all about.

Even if someone of the 'vampire type' didnt believe it, then they wouldn't be.i believe it has so much to do with te power of the mind and the 'will.' Not just soemthing that gets spoonfed to you by the brain rotting pretence of Hollywood.

He is

Strong... I mean not physically, well yeah that too, but mostly mental. He must use more of his brainpower than the normal person because he's always in my mind. I'm not a weak person, yet he can me feel like I'm under him.

He is full of illision. Something fairly normal like blue eyes, well on him they become sparkling gems. Every time I think of him, my thoughts turn to creative words to describe him, because he just doesn't fit in the mundane world that I live in.

He is, to me, temptation and every sin I can imagine... he makes me want to be what I know is what I am not... He is my oppisite I guess, and he tempts me to be what I always wanted...

On the whole I would think of a vampire as a normal person you see everyday.

It could be your hairdresser,your neighbour,your teacher,your boss,your best friend,your mother,yourself....

A normal person that works,pays the taxes,can get sick,can swim,can die,etc... but with certain tendencies:)

what is a vampyre to me? a differnt way of life, one that is misunderstood and misguided. Its not as glamorous as many people percieve it to be for finding a clean donor is harder then finding a mate. And when one cant find a donor, animal blood is hard to aquire due to the fact that it rises to many questions about the reason for it. Then , also, if you feed from yourself, its hard to explain to those who ask why it is that you have so many open sores or wounds.
Its like having a religion that people frown on...its a long and hard road that one gets annoyed when others pretend to be something that for many of us, isnt a choice.

A vampire is someone whose soul is deficient of energy, and so they must find ways of filling that deficiency. It could be through drinking blood, the life-force of another... or possibly by draining energies psychically... or even feeding off of the type of energy brought about by a certain sensation, like sex or arguing.

Ii am a sanguine vamp, and Ii will agree with my brother (notyoursaviour). But, Ii thik that his answer was a better technical description. I have done a LOT of soul searching about my vampirc side, and the why's and the what does it mean. The best I can figure it, and I know this souds corny, but I ibelieve that we are a special chosen people. Chosen to see the world in a whole different moonlight.
If you think about it, we almost all have had strange things happen to us that don't happen to most. We chose paths most wont dare tred on. Why is that? Because we are different from the onset. We are seers, and thinkers, and scolars of paths that "normal" people will never imagine. Vampires, lycans, and such see the world in different shades. I say that we should use it to inhace life. From all of the responses here....I am going to reply in a general way.....Vampires are creatures (not necessarily dead) That feed off of others....Whether it be blood, knowledge, energy, sex or otherwise....In essence we all feed off of those around us therefore everyone here is a vampire in some way or another......Me I feed off of energy, knowledge, and sexual desire so........that would be about it...*smiles*

I think a vampire is an evoulution of humans that humans think are the most dangerous and evil of all things because they drink blood.

I think a vampire is an omonus creature of time.
