Hello, I am curious thoes of you out there who enjoy blood, do you see it as a necessity or desire? Do you crave it or need it for survival? Would love to hear some opinions on this please :-)

Well, I wouldn't say that I crave it...but if I'm bleeding I will lick it off. Some may find that sick but I'm used to that.

I don't want to step on any toes but my personal opinion is that it's an addiction like alchohalism or any other. Probablly more psychological than physical.

I apologise if this offends any of the blood drinkers on the site.

Evil you are entitled to your own opinions...in mine...any necessity is an addiction that has a craving...so needless to say i think that a necessity is a craving regardless if it is needed to live..or just wanted because most wants...feel like needs..in other words..they are addictions...-mieta-

To me is just a desire. I'm not a vampire.
I don't need it, and don't get cranky, or obsessed with it, but used to be, in my teens. I just like it. A lot.
Sometimes I even drink my own blood, but that has to do with a very personal ritual.

Great point Evildam. I'm doing a research on that subject, to see to what point do Addiction and Vampirism meet as conditions.

for some..its a necessity..one of the few things your able to get the much needed nutrients for your body that other means cant give you.
for others, its the only thing that seems to stay down , to ease the pains in your tummy...to help with the hurting.

I myself don't have to have blood it is a craving an adiction if you will..But for others it is a must have..

Blood keeps me strong! If i wish to survive it is my necessity! But at the same time it is my biggest craving! My mouth full of sweet blood! Ahh....how nice it tastes!

Not long after i put myfirst post in here i had my nose smashed in a bit! Ni loved it cos the pain was nothing really! But i was mad at myself when my nose didnt bleed as much as i wanted it too!!! So i can honestly say i love blood! i just wanted to be able to hold puddles of blood in my hands! its a craving for me!

Believe it or not, some times if I psy feed enough, I've the taste of blood in my mouth.

The taste really depends on the energy-- it's only happened twice to me.

On the other hand, blood is seen by many as a sacred rite to be had by those who are meant to be close. I consider it an honor to have anothers, and bestow the honor to those I feel the closest to.

I will lick my wounds with utmost vigor, and I love its taste. I do not require it, like one requires food or water. It is honestly a mixture of both necessity( the need to lick my wounds) and desire (the love of the taste)

I believe it can be both depending on the person.

I don't know anyone who 'needs' blood to survive. I would say it's a desire, addiction or even a craving. But as a base necessity for survival.. I think that takes it just a step too far.

I think to some it is a ncessity and to others a desire. Depends on who you're asking. Mine is desire. Whenever I get a cut or scratch and start bleeding I could get a bandaid, but I would rather lick it( if I can reach). Then some people need it. For them it is a way of survival.

Blood is deffinatly a nesessity. It is also a desire for me.

its not nessacary, but its like a drug. its too good to be taken away from. some think its sick, but those people dont know what their missing

For me it's just a desire, I love its taste. When I have a wound I lick it, and try to push out as much blood I can. Sometimes the pain is a nice little extra bonus.

For some it is necessary after a long period of time ;)

i can't say that i am a "blood drinker" but i can state my opinion on the matter. i would think it was more of an addiction, i can't bring myself to undertsand it as a necessity because if it were necessary it would not be as special and pleasurable to the individual... you wouldn't like something as much if it were a necessity because that means that you "have" to do it. everything is more enjoyable when done by free will...the more enjoyable something is, take drinking blood for example, the more addicting it can become...

not all but alot of blood drinkers actually do it in a sexual manner so i guess that would be desire

I dont think anyone needs the blood to survive however they may need the life energy or essence that comes with it. Some can only get this while they are drinking the blood directly others "psy" vampires can draw this energy mentally those of us that can do both are truely blessed.

I think most do it of desire and/or maybe in its own way to bring attention.

I don't believe anyone, short of someone needing a transfusion, needs blood to survive. The ingrediants in blood that would have even the slightest beneficial effect are destroyed by digestion. I think it all comes down to desire, or delusion.

i crave and need it. how could you go with one and not the other. the need and crave for blood are looped and bound when it comes down to me.

ITS NOT SO MUCH OF A NECESSITY FOR ME AS IT IS A DESIRE..... A CRAVING REALLY......BLOOD LETTING AND SUCH RELATED TOPICS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FOR ME.... DOESNT MATTER IF ITS MY OWN OR NOT...AS LONG AS THE PERSONS BLOOD WHOM I AM ENJOYING HAS CONSENTED TO LET ME DO SO.... WOULDNT TAKE IT FORCEFULLY THATS A BIT BRUTAL FOR MY TASTE...

the one thing with blood being a necessity is that it begins as a desire, and eventually progresses into a need. Your body becomes used to a specific form of nutrients (or lack thereof concerning fast food and caffiene) and it eventually becomes so used to it that an absence of it triggers an adverse reaction, such as withdrawl. Psychologically it can become a need rather fast, but physically it will take a while, but if one drinks blood every day eventually to be able to cope with day to day living blood does become a necessity like anything else.

Although blood may not actually be necessary for one to survive, and may not be addictive on the same level as most drugs, blood does eventually become a part of every day and without it people might go into withdrawl and find themselves in actual need of blood to stop the symptoms.

Not really a blood drinker myself, however I am a bloody steak eater.

blood for me is more of a desire i can live and function just fine witout it but i do enjoy drinkin every now and then.

Blood isn't a necessity unless you're a born sanguinarian vampire. In all other cases, it is simply a fetish or craving.

most peopl eagree is a desire yet I wonder do this people really lik eblood. At least I dont really like it that much since I have atsted it and it tastes somewhat of freshly rubbed stainless steel.

who doesn't lick a wound? its human and animal instinct. true..noone needs it to survive, but who could say no?

it's an extremely bad addiction.. especially when you go without it for a while..

i get the shakes if i go without it after having it consistantly. and my stomach will start hurting, as if i am hungry, but i'm not able to eat anything.

eventually the withdrawl symptoms wear off, however it usually takes the better half of a week to "get over it".

so i wouldnt say it is an absolute necessity.. but once you get addicted, it's hard to go without.

i find blood ever so delicious and after i feed then my hunger begins to sub-side

I dont know that it would be true that the nutritional value is destroyed during digestion. If thats true then how would we get nutritional value from anything? Also drinking blood is different from any other source of nutrtion because its not just about the blood. There are energies that are also transferred at the same time. Some people have a hard time retaining and or producing these enrgies. For some of those people drinking blood may be the only way they can replenish them to a level where they can function "normally".

Blood is a desire...Energy is the only need...It can be drawn from blood...but that is just one of a endless amount of sources in this reality...

Blood is the known stamp of the Vampire, but it is also the source of great pleasure. A well-fed vampire is almost drunken in state. Blood reanimates the corpse of the vampire... and thus it is necessary to exist.

for me i enjoy it, but usually only crave specifically the emotional bond that comes with blood sharing. if i crave blood itself i just eat a steak.

i just think that its good whether or not its addicting which it is and i am addicted to it and am suffering with dwaws from it

so its a mixture of psychological and physical everyones different so results may vary for me i see it as an addiction
and i need it and will get it no matter the cost ... thats how i live

BLOOD, Is a main energy sorce that all people need to live, some people just need to re-boot that energy, Just because it is a just tastes good to some doesnt mean that its not a necessity to others,

i luv blood.. u dont need it to drink but hey... its addicting. so yeah. even if u havent drank blood befor... it feels like u always want it and ur addicted to it..

in my oppinion is that blood is a desire, i love blood, but i know i dont need it to servive, now sex on the other hand is a hole different story.

hmm, i must say that it is both...it can both be a necessity and desire...a necessity to those who feel they require it to survive from day to day...a desire for those who love the taste
