Mine is a recurring one were a black cloaked figure visits me in my dreams and tries to speak to me, don't understand the language, then he fallows me through out my dreams, been happening since I was 8, docs say its normal, don't really know what it means, I'm not really afraid but comforted by the being....how about you guys? what was your darkest dream?
The worst one I had when I was fourteen. I was living with my grandparents at the time, and had been since I was ten. In the dream, my mother chased me down the sidewalk in front of the grocery store. No matter how hard I tried to get away, I ran slower and slower. When she caught up to me, she had a huge knife, and she stabbed me in the heart with it. I woke up and couldn't move, everything was black, and I couldn't breathe. After a few heartbeats, I gasped for breath. After a few more, I could move. I laid in bed and just shook for awhile.
I ended up turning the dream into a play for extra credit in English class.
watching somebody drown in the titanice.she had a white dress and was sucked down and smashed by one f the funnells.she was called suzanna and came from new york.she kept reaching out to me.i got it alot
I had the same thing but different than yours.. But this was long ago, this shadow came out of my wall and my room went cold and the window wasn't even opened. This shadow kind of just towered over me and I wasn't scared, this happened for like four days right at 2am. Even when I was sleeping I would wake up right before 2am and before the shadow faded? It said.. "Next time I visit, you are coming with me." I remember it so clearly, but back then.. I was into a lot of weird... Crap. lol
Darkest I had was the night I finished playing Siren:Blood Curse. I dreampt I was in the hospital and the Shibito Nurses(dead Zombie like but talking delusional with weapons of all sorts, and seeing how.its a.hospital, they had like Scalpels and huge Syringes and stuff like that) kept looking for me. I couldn't find the exit for shit. I turned down a hall, and I ran right into one of the dead nurses. She had this big grin, and said she had finally found her missing patient. Then she came straight at me, and right before she murdered me with a blood caked rusty blade, I woke up, and I sat up so fast I hit my head on my headboard. That...was scary shit.
Mine are usually of the living and their death down to the moment of it. Whether it be in a car accident, drowning, catastrophic disaster, you name it, my dreams pinpoint specific persons and their demise. So needless to say, I don't say much.
It was never a shadow, in my case. Throughout the 'reawakening' in my "childhood", it was a man about the same height I am now (six feet even), with incredibly long, silver hair, and also wore nothing but leather and thick belts/straps, like he was in a whole-body straight jacket.
Each time I saw him, I got glimpses of a past time (and by "past", I mean Long, Long ago). Each time, it was of something Egyptian in nature, and kept becoming more 'lucid', one might say. Until the 'final' dream, that is, when I seemed to be looking around, and everything was about as dismal as it could possibly get.
Before, during, and even after that time, though, I has always been the same nightmare -- the day my "father" tried to kill me and my 'mother', when I was little. That memory/dream, amongst many others, still haunts me, even today.
awsome its wierd to see that alot of your dreams are similar to eachothers, does any one think it could mean something?
I have a dream,it's a little vague but I'm in an old hotel or apartment building and I walk in one of the rooms and hear the sound of running water, there are plants like ferns and a musty smell and just feel that there is a presence of something watching me.It has happened several times.
I have all kinds of dark dreams, most of the time its when my stress level is high. My subconcious is working overtime
the live i live is like a nightmare for me for now . wish i could wake up . i even have try to kill my self 3-4 times.noo i cant go anywhere .. now i dont now i can do it again ..i stuck in this damm nightmare ....
I have a lot of nightmares, but the worst are always about something happening to my younger siblings. Ni matter what I can never save them. Its always a different scenario though...
yeah i have dreams about my children sometimes, scary stuff
Most definitely, I mean I have other nightmares, but the worst for me is watching something happen to them and knowing I can't do anything about it. You know?
yeah those are the wrose dreams ive had, truely disturbing
My darkest dream was a black cloaked figure Killing me in different ways everynight.

I have had this dream a few times now where I am in my bedroom and I am awaken by a growling wolf who is at the doorway to my room. His teeth are showing, he is full grown. I can even see what color his fur is. This dream even has woken me up once and for a moment I could almost see a vision of this wolf in my doorway and it looked so real that is scared me.

My darkest dreams are of me killing people and blood. I have no emotion, no remorse, only hatred and pleasure at taking life..I don't like my dark dreams!
I have one where I'm standing at the forest edge near the lake. The water turns red like blood and mangled bodies start to wash up on shore. Then the whispers start.
My Darkest dream... Well....As weird as it may seem my absolute darkest dream took place in my old head start...
Everything was EXACTLY the same as reality only there was this strange round window by the lunch table that had never been their before...Yet at the very same time everyone KNEW of it... So when lunch time comes I have my little slice of pizza, an orange and my small milk carton.. I kept looking out the window but it was so weird that the outside I SAW wasn't the outside that was near the building... Then as im about to finish off the milk I'm grabbed by what seemed to be a shadow hand... My heart stopped as everyone looked over knowing what happened just then smiling and saying "Yay! Now you can truly be part of our group!" Then my entire being turned cold and stiff as i was dragged through the window which had been shattered by the hand...And sure enough through that window was the nightmare demension.... That was my FIRST experience with it... As I was pulled through by this ...this THING all i could feel was terror and pain... and that of the others who were trapped inside... Even now i still can't describe the place or the thing in a way that someone can understand...
But THAT was my darkest dream...
mine are flashbacks of the violence that went through as a child and teen caused by my ex mother and one of my ex stepfathers
I've a couple of dark dreams that have woken me up abruptly from sleep... I just snap wide awake when that happens. My darkest dream would have to be the one where I was stuck in a large body of water. It was the ocean I think... but my feet could touch the seabed. No land in sight, so i was stuck in the middle of it all. The waves were choppy and violent and I just couldn't move. It was intense and I hope I won't ever feel that much helplessness in my life. I can't swim and I sure wasn't swimming in that dream/nightmare. Can you do something in your dream that you can't in conscious life? I've heard of dreams where people could fly! I've never had that one.
I will post this again as it appears to have been deleted!
Another dark dream I have is going to a public gents toilet and it being the normally dirty smelly place that it is!! I start to go to toilet the urinals are all overflowing with wee and the toilets are overflowing with wee and poo. I slip and fall over in the toilet and get covered in other people's wee and poo...it goes in my hair, mouth, ect...
It would be interesting to know what the meaning of this dream is..If it actually means something lol
If you can,try and get yourself in your dream,
to speak to her...or him.
Some times if you learn enough..well enough
you can control what you do in dreams.
the cloaked figure dosent seem to want to hurt you,
but just to speak to you, watching over you.
so,
i would NOT be afraid.
I have a dream that used to happen alot.
but, for some reason I havent seen this dream
in awhile.
this vamp male in my dreams would speak
another tongue. I can't understand him,
but I know he means me no harm.
I try looking at his face, and he seems,sad..and
lost as I am. Yet strong and know what he wants.
I'm sorry to say,
but I havent been able to see what he has been
saying to me.
It's important, I know.
But,now sence the dreams have gone...
The only word I can remember is 'luna'
which means moon.
Mine ussually involve not being able to hear.My greatest nightmare is to lose my Musical Hearing and that`s the dream that ussually gets me.
If I may add something of potential value to the conversation, then allow me to note that the mind is not capable of creating flase sensation in a dream state.
What that means is that if you are dreaming about mom's apple pie and you can smell her baking it then this is not a dream, its a memory incorparated into the dream.
The sensation of smell or heat... any of the normal five senses is something that the human mind can not create via imagination. So if you have that element in a dream state then chances are high that you are remembering an actual event or elements of that event as you actually remember them happening. Yes the mind can reproduce the sensation of pain within the body but not the higher elements of the senses you experience from outside the body.
Another example would be if you were stabbed or shot... the imagery you experience may feel real and may even be painful but if you feel the blood running down your leg, or if you touch your blood soaked clothing and they feel wet... if you feel the burn of a bullet within the body or the smell of the guns powder blast in the air then these are elements or an actual event and not a dream.
This is often helpful knowledge to have when trying to determine if you are seeing a past life memory or a potential intruder to you dream states... or just a normal dream.
i dont know what to say but i see this man follow me too, is pretty disturbing for me. I wonder what it is, is almost as if it is real, but i don 't try to acknowledge him, the more u fear the more he comes around,. legend has t fear = death
Did you ever have a dream, were your in a food store totally naked, and nobody is paying you no mind, and your trying very hard to find clothes to put on,but theres none to be found, ive had this dream a few times,i know what your all thinking,go to a clothes store, but thats my dream.so what does that mean?
My darkest dream was man in a dark hood sitting on a large rock told me he had been waiting for me for.centuries....then as quicklg as he appeared he disappeared leaving me lost with no direction..no sense of time
i have a darkest dream and is the same one all the time,
of a serial killer holding me down hostage as a slave
I would have to say.. it was like a living day-dream.. I would almost 'be there'
I would suddenly be in some old decrepit interrogation room.. and some poor fool would be strapped to a splinter laden wooden chair....
Then this soldier like person.. would come in with a glistening bucket..
He pried open the fools mouth with some horrifying mid-evil device and then would pour shards of glass into the mans mouth.
Once finished.. he would force the man to shut his mouth and sewed it shut...
I hate seeing these things, they seem all too real. Yet I see them as though I am living it. So odd....

The most likely reason I ever took to becoming a writer was because I have always been able to have extremely vivid dreams -- way before Leonardo DiCaprio made it look cool. They started as night terrors, when I was youngest and I learned to start focusing on aspects of the dream to alter it into something to help me through my nightmare.
Through the years, it was visions of mommy and daddy... maybe, the cat... then, I graduated to weapons and violent sieges lead by my own personal elite killers, etc..
I say all this to say, my worst memories of dreams, no matter how well I defend/survive, are ALWAYS some form of end-of-the-world scenario. The dominant threat for me is usually some sort of zombie-apocalypse. Now, I'm talking decades of full-on heart-attacks where I would wake up afraid to move my bed sheets because I could swear I could see their muddy side of my bed! (Tell me, I'm not the only one who's stayed in one fixed position of fear for what felt like hours -- practically microwaving under a polyester comforter of Star Wars?!?!??!?!!?!)
Well, anyway. Zombies. Darkest.
Also, I blame the Michael Jackson "Thriller" video.... It scared the shit out of me when I first saw it as a kid. sidenote: Watching the making of thriller only made it worse.
I enjoy my dreams and astral walks because i never know where i'm going to end up or what i'm going to see or remember anyway.
I don't have any recurring dreams. I do keep a dream journal though and log the interesting stuff which main consists of vampires, dragons, portals, angels, demons, names i've never heard before (or sparked me to research them), deaths of mine, felines, Old Gods, symbols, ancient cities or legendary places long lost, and even meeting an astral traveler during a full moon which was the MOST interesting encounter ever. :)
Severus, I have to disagree with you about sensation not being felt in dream states. I've actually done a fair amount of experimentation on this whilst in dream and astral states and it is possible to feel in all it's entirety. The manifestation of sensation can be applied in dream and can often allow you to experience things as being even more real than in reality, it depends on your level awareness in dream. The use of sensation can often attribute more qualities than is felt in reality where you almost intuit the essence of something. Touch, sight, smell, sound, ect are just useful for us to define our dream reality but become almost redundant when you can feel something in it's true form without the need for the object to be filtered through the brain and clumsy human senses. The 5 senses are our very limited way of perceiving something in reality. In dream they can be applied to greater effect so you can smell what your hearing and taste what your seeing the astral/dream way of sensing can be much more refined than usual. Saying that there's many many times I move through dream with such fleeting mind that nothing could be felt as real. I think it is dependant on you level of consciousness/ awakeness within the dream.
P.S it's moonbubble I changed my name
Hmmm, my darkest dream was having sex with cousin. She and I grew up very close. ^_-
I have dreams where I am being followed or being chased by something. It is always night, always cold, & I'm almost always naked. Sometimes I'm in woods, sometimes I'm in a city, but never on open ground.
Ok..All your dreamers, a little experiment. Buy some talk, spread around your bed, due for a week. When you have your dream, look at the talk around your bed and, please, don't freak-out for what you are going to see. just a suggestion. If you have a heart problem or any mental disorder, do not due my experiment. Thanks my VR clan.
I've had some nasty dreams. But the worst was when I was maybe 17.
I was in the dark, running barefoot. The floor was wet, with I'm not sure what. There was something chasing me, laughing. Every so often claws would rake my ankles and I swore it was real because I could feel it.
This went on for a few weeks and one night I thought to look back to see what it was. I saw myself on all fours, limbs twisted around in their sockets so it looked like a spider with only four limbs. Wet hair dripping blood. Sharp teeth behind cracked and bleeding lips. Skin so transparent that every vein and artery was visible. And the eyes, black, no whites, just black.
I stopped sleeping and started hallucinating, seeing her while I was awake not just asleep.
Luckily that doesn't happen anymore.
my darkest dreams was when i was younger, me and my family was lost in dark and ugly forest. We was wet, scares, and hungry. Then one of my family mamber see that there is a small house in a woods. It was old wooden house, looked like no one live in it for few years. My mom open the door and the house was full of new thinks (tv,computer,radio,tables,...) on the table in the kicken was a lot of cookies. All of my family starts to eat them like pigs. I was screaming at tham that this is ugly to see. And that this is someones house. Than a loud noice came infront of the house. And i see that devil come in. He was tall, red skin, bloody face, whit two big horns. He starts to scream at us. And he start to eat my family. He eated evry one exsept me. Then he gave me a ring and say to me that people are to cocky nova days and he if glad that i respect others. Then i have woke up.
I dont know what those dreams where, but i think that was somekind of teaching for me.;)
