I have given this a great deal of thought and I can not find an answer on my own, so I ask the question: Nature or Nurture? Does a Vampire have a better chance to reach higher office of Power because of his deeds or his blood-line?

If you are speaking on MrD's terms then I agree with him.

If you are speaking as in how well you are doing in life and how you reach a certain position in a job and such then I would say it has to do with how much effort you have put in yourself. You always get back what you put in and as long as you work hard you will gain great rewards.

I think that the bloodline has a bigger importance but I don`t think that any respectful House or Coven will promote someone that has an important bloodline just for that when there are other members,whose deeds are obvious of a greater importance for the organisation.

I think both, but I do believe that bloodlines will give you a bigger chance of getting into power than someone of a 'lesser' bloodline. They would look at the deeds done, but they would also look at the bloodlines too. And in a way, I think they would also look to see how persuasive the person can be, they would be able to get things done easier.

It could really depend on who it is that's above you. Sometimes a lot of favor can go a long way, you could be nothing, and brought up to incredibly status just by being nice to the right people. Other times, there are those who are immune to that kind of thing, and you actually have to prove your worth.

I'd agree with the majority of people and say it's both. But it really depends on who and where.

Nature and nurture. Pure genetics may give you a disposition towards a certain life, the way you were raised and the lessons life taught you shape the life you have, but you can't have one without the other.

I feel deeds show more promise of promotion but your bloodline can affect the deeds you do and how lasting and impressionable they are. if you are awakened and have control over yourself more than the next person you can control your advancement at a higher level than the other less endowed individual

Deeds make the man/woman!!! Bloodlines help, but anyone can rise up in power or influence regardless of where a person originated from. A person is limited or empowered by his or her own ambition and disciplines.

I feel it is your deeds do not get me wrong ~bloodlines do not hurt ~~ yet to really achieve in anything you have to pay your dues/deeds and that seems to hold more influence that a bloodline in my opinon, so the more deeds you do the better off you are in accomplishing your major goals just an opinon~~ :)

id think that one of better blood would have it easier how ever deeds are what really count.. so blood is only a small bonus.

Sadly, his bloodline/rank. Similar to in the business world. You're more likely to get a promotion if you kiss ass than if you actually work your ass off for it.

Like anywhere in life, there will always be people who believe where you came from to be the most important aspect of yourself. However, sometimes when your nature is so very different than what they expect, you can change their pre-impressions.

I has many of you know am not of sure blood. I am an old line soldier through and through, the hunter, the protector, and some times Auror/Black Hand. I never question my duties and I carry orders out to the letter. I am a servant and never question my post, but sometimes the leadership worries me. After I am no longer needed, I might be given the honer to die like a Noble Vampire Warrior. My hopes are long I am gone, killed by youthful Slayer chasing an old Vampire who can barely run much less fight. When that day comes my last wish will be that OUR KIND GO ON AND STAY STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think deeds are more important although one cannot discount the the bloodline. Blue bloods seem to always be afforded more opportunities than not.

Deeds, people that follow "vampiric blood lines" are like... hmm... comparable to comedians. That or maybe they should try to make an Underworld 3?

Bloodlines, by genetics and by induction are powerful factors, and deeds/accomplishments count considerably, but longevity -- a deed in itself -- is also prerequisite. Proving oneself merely by survival is very important, as is the acquisition of experience that only happens with the years.

Hate to be a broken record, but both....not much more I can add that hasn't already been said.

It depends on the Vampire. Some may expect treatment because of bloodline and others understand it is the things you do that define you.

No vampire should ever expect treatment due to bloodlines. He or she was given those bloodlines with expectations of potential. With rank comes duty, and anyone who fails to do his or her duty will be treated accordingly. With exceedingly rare exceptions we all have superiors and accountability, and forgetting that can be fatal.

I read this right out of Clan Novel BRUJAH, it's on page 1o2 and it says "Maybe bloodline set a general pattern..."
And just maybe that's how I view what a bloodline does for an individual. Sets a general pattern yet it's up to the individual to achieve their own goals.

i think that both play an intricate part in the vampyre community,but like a few people have said just cuz u have a certain bloodline,ur not gonna get any special treatment,u have to work ur way up the ladder,just like any mortal would have to do!!!!

As in the human world I believe it is both. Deeds are more honourable although some overlook deeds & choose the bloodline.

I would say both. You can have a vampire of poor bloodline do honorable deeds and a vampire of high bloodline do dishonorable deeds. So it is definitely a combination of both.

Deeds because that is what everyone sees and feels about you and it also has to do with the aura and persona you create,because bloodline is just your ancestors its not you and you make you and who you are to be.

Probably both, but for those who are not aware of your bloodline and judge you only by your deeds..the deeds might carry more weight

Bloodline has more to do with station. Consider the human. Is it fair to the homeless man who works and works to feed his family, yet never attains the statute of millionaire? If deeds could allow one to rise, then we would all be chiefs.
