The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

There are many different opinions as to where and how vampires came into existence. Those who do not look to Egypt for the origin of their kind often fall back upon the Bible. The Old Testament tradition is rich in symbolism, and as one of the oldest pieces of literature known to the West, the myths of the Bible have become a potent and integral part of the Western imagination. These ancient stories still speak profoundly to a wide variety of people, and so it is no wonder that vampires as well find fertile ground for their beliefs in this ancient text.

The story of the Nephilim appeals to some vampires, and I have encountered separate groups which, independently of one
another, chose to identify their vampirism with an inheritance from the Nephilim.

The Nephilim were children of angels who came down to earth for the purpose of sleeping with the daughters of men. The children of these unions were invariably tall, strong, and especially attractive. They were skilled at many things, including magick, divination, art, music, and warfare. They stood out among the ordinary masses of humanity as great souls and leaders among men. But their arrogance prompted the God of the Old Testament to incite the
Flood and destroy them all.

Although the Nephilim are given a brief mention in the Bible, the full story of the Watcher Angels appears in an extra-Biblical text known as the Book of Enoch. The following story, told in the
narrative style of the Old Testament, was submitted by a group from the Chicago area. Although it is not a word for word interpretation
of the Enochian text, it is an interesting retelling of the ancient
tale.

The very last portion, in particular the injunction against drinking blood, is taken directly out of the Book of Leviticus.



Thus it is written in the Book of Enoch:



The sons of god looked down upon the daughters of men and they found them fair. But it was forbidden for the sons of god to leave Heaven
and walk the Earth. They were overcome with lust for the daughters of men and they greatly desired them. And so a group among themconspired to leave Heaven and go down to Earth.

They left their place from on high. They left the gates of Heaven behind them, and they descended to the Earth. Those who left the
hosts of Heaven to walk upon Earth among men became known as the Nephilim.

The Nephilim took to wife the daughters of men and they begat children upon them. And the children were part divine and partly mortal. The children grew rapidly and to great stature. Their bodies were fair and smooth of limb like their fathers, and their minds were keen. Their eyes looked upon the worlds of both Heaven and Earth. The mysteries hidden from men were revealed to their divine sight.

These children of the Nephilim were proud. They became great leaders among men. They undertook to teach their mortal brethren the secrets reserved for the gods. They taught men the art of warfare and how to make weapons in fire. They taught men how to adorn themselves. The art of cosmetics and the wearing of jewelry they taught them. They taught men the secrets of healing herbs and how to call spirits by name. They taught men how to read signs in the heaves. Various omens and divinings they taught them. They taught men how to bring forth water in the desert and how to make plants yield bountiful fruit. All the arts and the sciences which the gods had forbidden they taught to men. They taught them the secrets of living things, that the spirit
of a living body resides in its blood, and bypartaking of blood, the partaker of the blood gains the power of the creature whose life is
in the blood.

When the Lord God looked down upon the Earth, he saw men living like gods. And the Lord God grew angry. He saw that men no longer poured
the blood sacrifices upon the altar but kept the life of the blood to increase their own strength. He saw the men with the tools of the gods, making the Earth bountiful as only the gods should do. He saw them piercing the mysteries of the heavens so that their knowledge of themselves and their world rivaled that of the gods. And he saw them
with great weapons of war, weapons which only the gods kept for themselves, and he grew afraid.

The Lord God saw the children of the Nephilim amongst the children of men, teaching them. And he saw that the children of the Nephilim had
become great leaders of men. And he feared that the children of the Nephilim would lead the children of men to the very gates of Heaven to reclaim the realm forsaken by their fathers.

And so the Lord God undertook to punish the Nephilim and wipe their seed from all the Earth. Yet they had so intertwined themselves with
the children of men that nearly all men bore the Nephilim's taint. So the Lord God hardened his heart against all mankind and therefore
determined to kill every last one.

The Lord God prepared to visit a great Flood upon the Earth which would kill all living things and wash away all the works of the Nephilim. He called together the great hosts of Heaven in council
about his throne to prepare for this Flood. The heavenly hosts did not wish to see all men destroyed, and so they pleaded that one
household of men should be found and saved before the coming of the waters. The Lord God decreed that this one household must be
completely free from the Nephilim's taint, having neither lied down beside them nor learned the Nephilim's arts. This household should
still observe the blood sacrifices and must not partake of any portion of the blood for themselves. And if such a household could be
found, the Lord God allowed that they be warned.

The Lord God sent his hosts searching all the Earth for one household free of the Nephilim's taint. And they came upon the man named Noah,
and his parents and his parents before them had never lied down with one of the Nephilim. Neither had he learned of the Nephilim's arts. And Noah was faithful to his god, and he made the blood sacrifices and neither did he partake of any portion of the blood himself. And so it was determined that Noah would gather all his household to him:
his sons and his daughters, and the wives of his sons. And they were to build a great ark and gather into it seven pairs of every living creature so that the Earth would not be desolate when the waters of the Flood subsided.

So Noah gathered to him his sons and the wives of his sons. Also did he gather together his daughters. These pleaded with their father to
bring along their husbands as well. And yet the daughters of Noah were married to men who shared blood with the children of the Nephilim. And though many of the Nephilim's ways and their arts were lost amidst the Flood, even so did the line of the Nephilim live on through the children of Noah.

And when the Lord God saw that Noah and his household had survived the floodwaters, he made a covenant with him. The Lord God blessed
Noah and swore never again to doom the Earth and all of its creatures to a flood. And so that the evil of the Nephilim was truly cleansed from on the Earth, God said to Noah: "Flesh with its lifeblood still in it you shall not eat. For your own lifeblood, too, I will demand an accounting. And if anyone partakes of any blood, I will set myself against that one who partakes of blood and cut him off from among his people. Since the life of a living body is in its blood, I have made you put it on the altar, so that atonement may thereby be made for your own lives, because it is the blood, as the seat of life, that makes atonement. The blood is for the gods alone."

yes i have read the book, and indeed it does state that from blood you can achieve certain knowledge.... thus also showing the blood of the nephilim within the human being... this is indeed a very interesting fact.... as many theories have flourished from this text.. many of which make a lot of sense too...

Maybe yes, maybe not, I'm no vampire, but I guess like humans they came from different parts in the world, not just from one.

I do think that is one of the possiblilities, that the Nephilim were Vampires, it does warrent more studies.

Anne Rice takes the same idea in her 'Memnoch the Devil', however here you must remember that they are treating Angelic beings as PHYSICAL CREATURES, which, in my opinion, they aren`t. Angels are purely spiritual, and the fact that humanity portrays them as having white wings and not having a specific gender is metaphorical of this. Therefore, if vampires really came from angels, they did so in a purely metaphysical manner, and not by sleeping with the 'daughters of men'... sex had nothing to do with it... not physical sex anyway.

i love the story of the nephilim and i have studied to to an extent and there are many discoveries that show that this could be true, that is if christianity is real, who knows

My issue with this translation/book is that "God" is not consistent by any remote means to "God" in the rest of the books of the Old Testament. This sounds more like an ancient babylonian myth story. I don't know if it because of the translation, and was played up for effect, or if the actual book reads this way.

It's interesting to think that a god would intend on destroying the nephilim and 'miss' enough to leave a 'bloodline'. It would seem that if anyone could succeed in the intention of totally wiping them out, that a god would be the least likely to fail.

So how would this bloodline of the nephilim have survived?

Some people think to survive the Nephilim created atlantis or Mu or survive. Thier are a # of possibillities. I'm still wonderign what I belive we care from.

Rayden - I'm suggesting though that as a biblical interpretation, the idea that nephilim escaped gods wrath or hid from it (be that in a cave or on Atlantis or in a spaceship) is in direct opposition to the idea of a omnipotent and omniscient god. Either god knows all (and can find and kill them), or one can hide from him...not both.

The problem I have is the entire religion of the old testament is based around monotheism, and that "God" is omnipotent and all those fun all knowing all powerful things. In this passage he is not - he is scared of mortals, he doesn't succeed in wiping it out, he doesn't know where the pure bloodline is and has to send "scouts" etc and the list goes on. The two can't really coincide - it's one or the other.

I have study the bible for more then 18 years and never it was mention that it was out of nager that God destroy the earth for the nephilim, it was because the result fo the children of the angels and the humain girls who were the nephilims, were cruel and murdurus, creating chaos and killing all voer making life miserable, i sutdy it in variouslaguage, hebrew (of course wiht translation but still) grec, arameen, and anglsih and french. What about "Cain"? He was cursed to walk the Earth, he could not die by normal means. And if anyone killed him, they would be cursed also right? Now, usually, when a person "kills" a vampire. they get rid of a "curse". But the fact that he could not die by normal means. Like age, maybe it is because he was a "vampire". and then out of nowhere other thoughts and myths, legends developed...just a small thought...

heres a thought...not ALL nephilim were vile and debased....simply most of them....thus survives a bloodline..
since even old testament god rarely wiped out everyone..he/she/it almost always left a few survivors around...
but the nephilim were said to be capable of both the greatest feats of good...and the worst debasements of evil, descending from angelic stock they would be likely to have those polar extremes

well I started a thread about a month back asking whether vampires were just fallen angels.

The original post explains everything though.

My post was not even RIA'd it was erased.

"Flying" as was mentioned in a sister post referred to the ability to do great things, to go about the day doing great things, and being leaders as such as is described in your original post.

Fallen angels haven't any wings, and I was trying to put together whether in the forum readers opinion do vampires fly? Which really metaphorically means, do vampires have an angelic power that makes them accomplish great things.

Of course the power mentioned in this post, the offspring of angels and daughters of men, they had great powers and were leaders, and then were destroyed by god for their arrogance.

It is not arrogance, it is pure power. POwer must be used, vented, and utilized not destroyed because other people, from their vantage think that as the angel breed walks the earth doing great things, it seems like conceit and arrogance. But actually, doing things for others is the opposite, it is altruism and should be fostered in others and not punished, or whiped away from the face of the earth.

This topic explains it all. I am glad the bible mentions, such entities God decided to raze.

Actually Vulash, I wrote that post for you. In my mind you are one of my main detractors. I was just linking the biblical scripture to one of my theories. I think Science and religion can be friends.

The bible states that God is only to be worshiped and no other god, and I have heard other great writers mutter under their breath, in some great books, even religious texts admitting the god of the bible is a jealous god.

On another thread I wrote that I think the prupose of Jesus' teachings was perhaps to make us more powerful? right?

It is just when the power becomes tremendous, that even god strikes down the individual, like Icarus flying to the heavens being burnt by the sun with his fathers wax wings melting.

The whole lesson we learn from Greek mythology, is that Zeus and all the rest of the Olympians were petty and envious of each other. It was the first soap opera.

If you think about it, the terms associated with kidneys all start with Neph. Kidneys do look like wings. I apologize I had to do a double post here, but I merely forgot to add my observation on perhaps related entymologies.

God gave the angels permission to live and marry with the daughters of man. their children had the powers of angels and the soul of man. they were very long lived and hard to kill

it is also said that all of the people of myth that lived around a 1,000 years or more were also nephilim..........i.e. moses, jesus, and goliath......and the like.

you can also include the greek, roman, norse, egyptian gods to name a few as nephilim also.

some say that when jesus died on the cross that he didnt die at all. it is said that he was in a coma and woke up 3 days latter after his wounds healed. it is also said that he might still be alive today.

I am sure gods can never die. Unless of course, it is like in that "Elf" movie, where Santa's sleigh runs on the spirit of christmas, and with no one believing in Santa his sleigh did not fly. The same could be true for gods. If they are discontinued to be believed in then they no longer exist, unless they decide to construct new worlds.

People who wordsmith nomenclature sometimes use related words to convey somehow related concepts. The quasi relatedness seems not there at all, to someopne who has their face in a book all the time.

I liked the post and in general it gives me something to think about and look into.

Suppose the nephelim were the first vampires and a few did survive the flood.By this day and age the bloodline of the originals would be very diluted by now and the strength of the originals would be almost gone due to breeding it out.

the kidneys are the only organ in the thorax which are actually outside of the membrane that contains all the other organs. They are just a little below the skin.

Now seeing as how Nephilim had wings, and all scientific terminology referring to kidneys starts with the same 4 letters, and if indeed kidneys are almost outside of the body like wings, then, perhaps the first violators of anatomy were pre biblical times, and they noticed this anomally, these neph wings outside the body.

I am not going to ask you to make any other connection beyond that.

The Nephilim have always intregued me from being a very small child. I was brought up Christian (No longer) , and always read the stories of Noah with great intrigue. I asked my father and my family many times what these Nephilim were, he called them Fallen Angels, I didn't understand at the time. I seem to also remember reading that after Yeshua was crucified that he went down to the bottom of Hell and preached to those that were lost in the flood, to save their souls?
Also I seem to remember reading a passage once which happens shortly after the day of Judgement, that he casts the Nephilim (The sons of God) into outer darkness then and casts satan, and the rest of his Kindred into the everlasting fire... Well anyway, I would love to read alot more about the Nephilim...

That was a really good story, i guess to believe that they were vampires would be to also believe in God, Adam and Eve etc;
They could've just been stories like there have been throughout history speaking of people who drank blood and had the power of knowledge and magic, it could just be a fable to put childrens minds at ease.
But it is a very intriguing read, The X-files covered a Nephilim episode. A number of girls who were born with disabilities both physically and mentally, and they were being sort after by both good and evil:

Well, my take on this matter would bring in a bit of Indian mythology....in one of the epics- the Mahabharata, a queen has the ability to call down Gods and bear children by them.....if that is possible, then maybe angels would also be able to enter into relationships with women....I dont see how their offspring would be vampires, unless:

1. The angels didn't have the chakra point thats missing in vampires;

2. Maybe God and angels are vampiric; or

3. The offspring learnt of the power of blood and developed a taste for it.

But I have a question-- the bible doesn't mention God requiring human sacrifices-- normally it seems to be a lamb.....so normally, if blood was giving God power, then the Nephiliem would be trying out lamb blood, not human blood???? :S

I am familiar with the Nephilim tales, and it is very enchanting, and yes, they could an origin of vampires.

I promised not to ring in on this to the originator of the thread but I have come into new knowledge that is revelent to the Nephilim-Vampire tie

first off, the FLOOD o9f God to destroy them, well, when the urological system is attacked leading up to the "wings" of the kidneys, incontinence is the case. The next in line is the kidneys, when there is kidney failure, the body excretes waste through the sweat glands. The urea forms a christalized "frost" on the skin, indicative of the loss of "wings" or kidneys.

Do you think the Naoh flood Ark story relates to this, or do you think my agreement with the bible about angels are turned into vampires when angels lose their "wings" (kidneys) is uncorrelated? It could just be a coincidence?

Any one interested in learning about the true Nephilim should check out a book called The 12th Planet by Zecharia Sitchin. You may be disappointed in the fact it doesn't mention angels or vampires though.

I really don't know if the thread people on this one have come to at least accept some of the ideas about fallen angels and vampirism, or the moderator who took out the slack of the useless posts wasn't referring to my input on the matter, that she liked the thread and liked where it was going. I just found an email from someone I wrote this too, and it has been buried there. He said it was poetic and very true, in his opinion. My computer crashed when I posted it, and I ws glad that it did crash because I had the strong urge to put it in here, and I would have, but the computer crashed. However I found the email by accident, and since the person I wrote it for agreed whole heartedly with it, I have decided to post it where it may belong.

unrequited love in life or love leads to lust hedonism, the vampire remembers his high romantic concept even though he is an animal determined by his actions, he is still a man even if the act that make him an animal was one minute one second or a lifetime of acting like an animal. This is the dual nature of the vampire, we are fallen angels, magnificent fallen angels because humans are scum felix, they are f******ing scum and can't deal with angels, so the angels fall because their hearts are ripped out, they think that in a lesser form they will be accepted, they willingly give up their powers for the love of life and requitement abd then they get more powerful by accident and then they can't even be accepted in the end, it is all really sad man, but so f****en righteous, they may be damned and dead, but they still fly with wings and are more alive than most tenfold.
