a ghost, or poltergeist?

I haven't really seen anything like that but...My uncle he is into the celtic stuff and he said that he can see spirits and talk to them. But I don't know if he was telling the truth but he said that my dad's spirit was always around me and he saw him and can talk to him.

I have felt a vague unease several times. I have seen curtains move. The hair on my arms have stood on end

I haven't although i too have felt spirits and presences near to me. I don't think you have to have seen a ghost to know there is one there though do you?

While I have seen enough circumstantial evidance to make me want to believe in ghosts, I have never actually seen one.

i used to live with a poltergeist in my house ..... i had the house burnt down after i moved out into my place... a nasty little bastard it was... moving the kitchen chair under the door handle when someone would walk up the stairs...

I haven't seen a ghost physically with my eyes, but I have felt their presence even heard them.

I have seen ghost before on several of my trips to places I've never been... They show themselves to me when they need to get something to someone left here on earth or at times I just see them carrying on as if they knew not they were even dead..

I have once in an old hospital in London. A ghost without a head, it must of went for an amputation! but all joking aside, a lady had died in the ward that day, and it just was not me that seen it but also another girl in the hospital bed next to me. Scary and true!

I have'nt, but feeling the weight of my bed as someone was there, but was'nt. I have had a walk-in enter me at one time. Sometimes I feel things but nothing is there.

Definitely. I've seen my fair share. I live in the middle of a swamp/forest haunted by an elderly couple who died when their cabin burnt down (the chimney is still there, it's pretty cool, but kinda creepy) and a man who was shot by his son who mistook his coon-skin cap for a squirrel. The area was also a prominant Native American burial site. Wierd stuff happens back there, and I hate being back there at night. Shadowy figures, strange lights, footsteps without tracks, stuff being thrown... they're pretty neat tho, and I havn't been harmed by them yet, so I'm assuming that they're relatively friendly.

DarkAngelGina, I would love to hear your story abouth them. This is all very intriguing to say the least :)

I've partially seen one (I say partially because it wasn't a clear sighting). But, I've sensed many.

Ghost

When I was youmger I was sitting in our new house alone in the hallway when I an in a white t-shirt appeared out of nowhere and he walked around the corner and was gone. I was 10 then. It seriously scared the shit out of me.

I have not seen any but i feel their presence and see things moving and strange light. during my night duties sometimes they get creepy ... i know that feeling emerald

I have not seen one with my eyes... but have felt a spiritual presence... on occasion

hmm, MissDevilLove the hospital experience that I had was just so much more than creepy. It was frightening, and when the girl and I ran down the ward to get some help we stumbled into some kind of invisible barrier and could not get to the nurses! Now, two people don't feel or experience the same unless it is real!

another point is that personally i dnt evoke ghost coz i respect the death living souls ... i am against that. i feel their presence by chance ... they were and still are of great help .... i trust them

Hmm, well yes.. respecting a ghost/spirit with mean motives may be a difficult thing to do. However, I understand were you are coming from DevilLove :)

Oh, and yea... a lot of people believe that these ghosts that we see, are trapped spirits unable to go to their final resting point because they have matters to resolve here on the eartly plane first.

Well, this was part of MY query.. I HAVE felt them and I have experienced Poltergeist activity too!! I have NEVER 'seen' a ghost.. or spirit..

Wow,I haven't actually seen one,but have been around to hear someone walking down the steps and clicking on a light.In one house I lived in we had a RC car and the little boy in the house would play with it, make it go around in circles.A friend of my daughter said the boys name is Jon.A month or two ago,I awoke from a deep sleep to hear a child crying,like his heart was breaking....maybe Jon followed me here.He seemed to like Elysia.

Most of the spirits I have seen have been people I have known who have passed on but on occasion I have seen others.

I have seen ghosts/spirits before in my younger days. I haven't seen them since I was about 18 or 19 years old (11 or 12 years). I do still get a sense of something around every now and then, but it's rare.

Yea, and that is the shivery part of it1 How, I would love to camp out with a few of you in one of two of Ireland's old castles. That would be some kind of whacky weekend! haha

Like Skylla, I think I've seen a ghost. Over Easter weekend, I was at my dad's new house and when I came out of the bathroom upstairs I thought one of my nephews ran by, but there was no one in the hall or on the stairs. And no one had actually even been upstairs. It kind of freaked me out.

But I know that I've HEARD a ghost - I had a friend who lived in a haunted house. I was sleeping on her couch; in my sleep, I could hear someone calling my name. As I came awake, the voice became louder so I thought it was Kim and tried to get up but couldn't move. Freaked me out!

It is better to have seen a ghost and have it witnessed, that is much more believable :)

I have caught glimpses of unexplained things. But never actually seen a ghost clearly. I have, although, experienced many strange things while in my Aunt's home. The house used to be an old inn. It's over a hundred years old and there have been several sightings there by many different people. I also sense things around me all the time. It's almost like you're being watched by something, but you know nothing is there.

I have seen, felt, and heard them. And I am shocked that I am even saying this in a public forum. It's not so common for me. But there are places I can go where it is a given.

Hmm, I am curious I wonder really what makes these spirits linger, could it be just that they have matters to resolve, or do they really really want to haunt people?

I'm not sure. I have not been able to shake the presence of a lady I have never met. She is the mother of an old friend of mine that I rarely talk to anymore. All I know is that she makes me feel peaceful. I know she is there, but I never feel 'haunted'. She spoke her name to me. I had never heard it before. This happened a couple years ago. After more than 10 years of 'being' with me- I said, I don't even know your name! And the name was spoken in my ear loud and clear. Just that one word. After researching online and then eventually with much trepidation approaching my old friend on this touchy matter- he told me it was in fact his mother's name.

Aye, my family has a huge, old place in England.And ya know the Brits just never know when to say good bye*lol*
I have been seeing ghosts since I was a wee child.

If it is possible for ghosts to walk the astral planes, woudlnt it be possible for ghosts of pets to do also? Or, is that a totem spirit way of the Indian world?

It sounds pretty probable to me that they could/would connect astrally. I feel it happens to me with my father and sister who have passed away. If I am troubled with something in particular- they will come to me that very evening with the answers. Some would argue it is my sub-concious telling me what I want to hear. But I know that's not it. It's too vivid and spot-on.

It was a tale that was told to me by an old granny in Ireland, she said that people who cremeated cannot wander the astral planes as ghosts or spirits.

yes i have seen them an ralked to them i have a young boy that stays with me his mother killed him so he feels safe with me i tell him to go to the light but he wants me to go i know i cant and i try to explain that but he refuses to go so he stays with me.

i have felt a presence in my friends house when i was staying one night

it felt like i was being wached and be it strange i felt no fear as if there was no threat

I've never actually seen one but I've felt a powerful presence before, very disconcerting.

I have seen may "ghosts" or "spirits" and "orbs" (which are ghosts in their essence) polterghists no never had the pleasure of being in the same room as one of these playfull energies.

my grandmother says that when she was kid there was a ghost who used to play jokes on her little baby brother - tossing him around and put him somewhere else!!!

When I seven, I went to go see a play with my cousins and aunt, and when they brought me home I went into the basement to play on the computer with my cousins. The dog I had at the time was lying near the door and I knelt down to briefly pet her, then we proceeded to go on the computer. A little while later my cousins were called to go home and we went upstairs. After they left, my parents told me that while I was gone, my dog had a bad seizure and had to be out to sleep.

That was the only time I've ever actually seen a ghost, but I've definitely felt them often, usually in my room.

That is very sad about your pet, but I have heard that pets are very sensitive to spirits.

I've never seen one. Except out of the corner of my eye when I sense one. I get the impression/ outline of something and then it's gone.

Jenova, I had always remained sckeptical about ghosts/spirits until I had actually seen that one that I did, and it was witnessed by someone else at the very same moment in time who was next to me.

When my uncle had past way I saw his spirit setting on the edge of my bed telling me good bye and that he wasnt suffering any more from his cancer so yes I do believe that the spirit of your love ones can and will send you a message from the other side cause it happened to me.

Aye, I have heard of this bedside theory too, a girlfriend of mines frequently see's her Grandmother at the bottom of her bed.

I have seen something out of the corner of my eye. When I look directly at it, it isn't there. I have seen ghostly shapes in pictures of my Daughter Danielle when she was little. Her Great Grandmother only got to meet her before she passed. My 3 sons at one time or another, have said they have felt someone's presence around them, in a good way. We all swear it is my Grandmother, their Great Grandma. I also have this uncanny knack for being able to cook anything without a recipe. I believe that Grandma has her hand in that. She was an amazing cook!

I see what I call" shadows" and have heard voices.And things being dropped or thrown down in rooms that noone is in for I live alone except when my children are here.

Seen ghosts and such ... yes but getting them to shut up is the real trick. *LOL*

I'm very skeptical, I never believe anyone that say they have seen ghosts...Although I have seen one myself, I suppose, I truly haven't accepted the experience yet.

I was around 7. My mum was downstairs...She was with an abusive man, and she nearly died and I was in my bedroom, sobbing, I saw a figure, a comforting, not scary figure, which spoke to me. I've never seen one before, or after this incident. I know what I saw, but I denied it for a long time.

I have seen a ghost, my grandmother died in this house, and I have woke up with her standing at the end of the bed.

Yes! It was a couple years back.. I believe I was 12 or 13. I woke up in the dead of night, I was sleeping up stairs because our fire alarm down stairs was broke. There in front of me was a young man, (well what was a young man) about 17 I think. He had short brownish hair, it was hard to tell because his whole figure was pale. His faces was pure white but he had gorgeous eyes. He was wearing an old style outfit, short leggings with long socks. And a shirt that kind of feathered out at the sleeves. He didn't see me at first, he was holding on of my moms bird nic-naks. He turned around and as soon as his eyes met mine I passed back out.

Throught my life I have seen many ghosts and spirits. As well as feeling them. Since I moved to Iowa it's been more frequent though.

Poltergeist you can't see until they will themselves to let you see them. They move stuff and make your life hell. I've had one of those in my house but only for a night. I'm not scared or anything.

I've never seen a ghost though it would be fucking awesome if I did.

Yes, many times. I feel presences, see things hear things, part my be because I am mentally unstable, at least that's what everyone tells me, but I don't believe them.

actual ghost or mind playing tricks? i dont know ... i lost Someone very special when i was 19 and felt his presence around me for years. Relationships failed because they never fulfilled me the way that ours had .... until i met a new Someone and it was a very intense beginning ~ within days i knew this new Someone made me feel complete and that very same day that i realised this to be true, i saw my lost love, in the mirror, as clear as if He was in the room ... smiling

i took it as a sign that he felt he had cared for me and protected me until we both felt there was Someone else who really could .....

so, his ghost or my conscience?

I have seen more then I would like to think about good thing I have been able to get over my fear of them looking at me.
Ghost

I have seen ghosts alot in my life. I am told that I have a gift or something.

I have never seen a ghost, but I think other senses are just as capable of determing if there is a ghost around. Between energy force and even a lower tempeture, I think spirits can be felt more than viewed.

maybe i was just consumed w/ grief @ the time but i felt my deceased fiance's presence and thought i saw him on a number of occasions until i finally made peace w/ his death, either way, i'm not sure but it was comforting @ the time...

yees i used to see them as a child no one else did they told me only i could see them .. they lived in the back yard in the burned shed .. i went back there not tolong ago where i lived when i was young i thought i saw some one but when i went to where that shed was they wernt there

Yes I have seen a ghost. I have one in my apartment

I think so on to occassions

1. a presence moved across the room and hovered at the end of the bed. The next day I found out my grandfather was dying
2. alos in the room at a different time lst year I saw the figure of a small dark haired girl in Edwardian dress. Small bit of research - my gran had a 3 yr old sistr who died in an accident in 1906

So I think they are messengers rather than hauntings

Several members of my family here have seen them in this house. Its not really a fun feeling if you ask me. I would have discounted my own experience if my family had not said that they have seen them as well when I mentioned the incident. Nothing "evil" but not exactly a welcome experience either I must say.

Yes seen both dealt with both. I am not very fond of seeing children ghost it's to sad for me to handle...although I have three attached to me now they are sweet but don't want to cross over alone.

i have seen many, many ghosts, and i have experienced poltergeists in action. i've seen ghosts all my life, and i firmly believe that some people can see them, and some people can never see them, and it has nothing to do with whether you believe in them or not. some people firmly believe in them and would love nothing more than to actually see one, and never do.

i've seen several ghostly pets. it's odd that many people say they only see them out of the corner of their eye, because in most cases i only catch a fleeting glimpse before it vanishes - with a few exceptions. also, it seems to be something inherited - most of my family (apart from my father) also see ghosts - it is something that runs through my Mothers side of the family. poltergeist activity is the exception - my father has seen that often enough. lets face it, if something moves, it moves, and its there for all to see.

I have experienced poltergeist activity.. I've been growwled at WITH witnesses AND it was caught on a vid Camera! AND a boom Mic. I was SO scared I almost fainted.. it was a EVIL growl.

When I hear of the tales BEHIND the reasons why the 'ghosts' have died.. it always seems to give reason as to why they still 'linger' either of a tragic accident..NOW that has SOME proof in that the bodyis taken SO quickly.. that the 'mind' doesn't KNOW it is DEAD.. therefore 'lingrs' asif it think it is still alive!
another is of a murder.. 'taken' before they were ready and not said goodbyes or have children still on the earthplanes.

i seen a ghost! he's prettyn frindly though, he's not scary! tehe
