Can vampires love?
Do they have feelings like mortals do?
These questions seem to be running through my mind lately. I'm not really sure why though. All I am looking for is answers and some facts in result to the answers.

Ask yourself one question. Could I live for all eternity and never feel love?

Vampires must love. The question i would ask is how does that love differ from that of mortals?

Okay, yeah that is a great question....can you answer it as well?

I believe vampires can love--but they might see it as a bad thing because they don't want to end up hurting whoever they're in love with. I also believe they love just like mortals--but probably in an old-fashioned way.

I for one do think that yes, even vampires love. Whether they be in stories, television or sitting next to you, yes they can love. They might not express it they way that normal people do. Some feel that they will appear weak.
Ask yourself this, is there any creature on the earth, or cosmos for that matter that do not feel some kind of love?

Well, hate to be...uh...blunt, I guess is the word...but if I were these other creatures that you mention, I wouldn't be asking this question now would I?

I would hope not. Do you not feel love? Being what we are I think most of us are a little more reserved but we all have our reasons.

I think vampires try to avoid love with mortals so as to avoid seeing their lovers age and die while they remain immortal.
Maybe thats why vampires prefer one night stands.

At times I question if what I feel is love. I often find myself questioning every so called feeling that is known/named. I just don't know anymore. Sometimes I feel like love is only found in fairy tales, and that it doesn't truely exsist in reality. Maybe love is for the dreams that can never come true. Can anyone even define love...or any feeling at that?

I guess it all depends on if one thinks vampire are evil or not. But yes I think vampire can love. But it is very hard for them. If one was human and then "turned" I would think it is more likely for them to love. Most beings gets lonely and want companionship. There for there is room for love. I guess.

Defining love is hard to do. So are other emotions. If everything that was felt was the same for everyone the world would be boring.
When I was younger I hated, if you want to call it that, every thing around me, anyone, I fought, clawed and screamed my way through life. Then I got what I wanted...to be left alone. That hurts you know? Just not having anyone there.
Then I met a Therian and now yes, I feel love. Sometimes I'm unsure if I truly love him, but then I realize that I would probably die of heartbreak. So yes, I do think that Vampires can love...

Of course they do. I think love is something that everyone and everything can feel.

Everything feels love, although there is no one way to define it. Love is whatever a person feels for their significant other when they wish to spen their entire life with that person. Every person experiences life a little differently, so what we feel would also differ.

Well you all have great views on this. Thanks for actually taking the time to post. I on other hand, just don't know if I can, nor want to love anymore. To me it seems like a waste of time for me now. But I don't know. Maybe my relationship with the girl that I'm with will change my mind. But, I just don't know at this point.

i think vampires can love like real people there may be a victim that they may fall in love with and they not want to suck their blood but instead turn them into a vampire and so their love can be with each other.

I believe that vampires can love. I believe everything can love in one way or another. Vampires, humans, and animals.

i believe that every person (mortal or immortal) can feel any emotion, i mean seriously if your living for an eternaty you are more than likely going to feel someting.

Of course vampires can love but do they want to? This is the real issue, I mean all can love, but it is the will to love that is always in the balance.

Any being is capable of love. Even the meanest of beings is capable of loving something.

I cannot believe that a vampire is loveless and unemotional. Maybe over time they develop a barrier to some emotions. But to live a life without love... that would be hellish to me.

On the subject of love, you have to love yourself before you can truly love another. If you hate yourself or dislike yourself in any way, how can another love you. And how can you return the love if you don't care about you. I am not talking about vain, narcissistic love, I am talking about looking in the mirror and like yourself like you would you best friend. Then and only then can you experience love for what it really is.

i belive they can, why shouldent they i mean many have personalties and things they do, why not love, its like asking dose a dog have feelings or something non humane having feelins

Can vampires love? Hmmm... well, sandhill cranes mate for life. There are otters who mate for life. There are other examples in the animal kindgom of life matings. Is this a form of love?

I would suppose that vampires might possibly feel love of some sort. Perhaps not as much as a Sandhill Crane but perhaps something.

well it all depends on ur view of vampires. what is a vampire to u. u have ur psys, u have ur immortals, the list goes on. i think depending on ur view of what a vampire is, u then can decide about how they love.

in my opinion, any and all creatures, living and dead, have the capability to love. and the need to want a companion for life.

Yes I believe , vampyres can feel or show the expression of love, for they feel hate or anger towards and enemy. they feel pain from the sun. vampyres are full of emotions and love is there too

If one is to be alive, love must exist. It is an ideal and a virtue that is worth striving and fighting for. But with love comes hate as a counter-balance. These two emotions are always in conflict deep inside and can send even the vampires winding for a loop. I have had my first love since I found out my true nature and to be honest, has me crazy right now, but I still desire it.

it depends on the person. some vamps can love but due to some of their hearts are darken they love to defferent degrees. Depends on how much human mortallity they have left in them.

Of course vampires can love! Although just because we can doesn't mean we're allowed to. I know my Clan is forbidden - but that's beside the point; vampires love just as mortals do, because they have characteristics and emotions similar to that of a human. If humans can love, then so can vampires.

I think vampires can love... In my case, I have two close friends and when I awoke... or when I realized what It was, I could feel the feeling changing... what was a close friendship, turned into deep love... they both are my close lovers and friends and they know I'm a vampire and they share with me blood... and I can tell you that I love them deeply...

I believe so and I also believe that this Love can bond two vampires together so strongly, that they become one emotional being, capable of sharing energy at will over any distance, better able to reach one another in dreams and the astral plane and possibly most importantly, provide one another with the satisfaction which they need.

Vampires are humans, and have feelings just like everyone else. So they most certainly must feel the same things we do. I believe it is Hollywood which has messed up this belief a great deal, making the vampires either emotionless or full of desire and able to manipulate others with these emotions.

I feel that Vampryes can love . They just like anyone else . And to say otherwise is believeing stupid Hollywood style tales on Vampric love .

What about happiness? Do you think that they actually feel happiness?

Vampires can love, but I think they also know what it is like to get hurt. So, it is hard to love someone if you are not sure how that significant other will react to your "state of being". If one gets past that point, than the next step is or the next question is can you live with this person for eternity?

The problem is that love is so difficult to define. Just the very aspect of it is different for everyone I suppose. However, the unconditional love that you are seeking comes with time and that is something that both humans and vampires alike can enjoy.

Also, Vampires can feel happiness. Vampires are just like mortals in that aspect and in the love aspect. The movies portray the wrong idea of what the vampire persona is realistically. Vampires have feelings, they love, desire, lust, feel happy, feel sad, hate, etc.

Of course vampire can love....and no different that other beings or animals some are more in tune with their emotions and embrace love, while others are more conservative and may shun love (heart on the sleeve) in fear of pain of losing one or the love not being reciprocated.

i think vampires can love...they just dont want to show it because it reveals a weakness...some can protect them and their loved ones because of the amount of their power, but the thought of showing a weakness is too degrading to some vamps so they never show love...for all we know there could be a vamp in love wit one of us and them not show us

Love is an all encompassing thing, everyone can love. whether it is an object or a person there is love to be found everywhere and in everything.....love is simply being in awe or amazement with something....we love blood do we not? it's not just a need it's a pleasure, a love, a feeling of having that which is right to us! love is undefinable, but it is there for all to access and feel, and if love hurts, hurt it back! and what is pleasure without the pain!!

Yes they can love. But beware to love, or befriend a real vampire you will come upon a set of problems which will need the expansion of boundaries of one's accepted reality.

well a quick question to those that say vampires can love. If they are dead (assuming they are the living dead) then they dont have hormones and love is paralled with hormones so maybe they do not feel love but mere attachment for survival. (Mind you this is all on shaky grounds considering the biology of vampires is unknown) but how can something feel if they dont have the hormones to do so, and they dont have hormones since they dont have a pulse

its a curse to be an immortal how many times will you love and love again and lose the one you love over and over yes you can love as a vampire but vampires love will be a curse and what will basically lead to there destruction, how much pain can one take and still live with it.

I def think that vampires can love, to live forever and never feel love of any sort I believe would have to be excruciating. I also think that the kind of love they feel would be stronger than anything humans could even comprehend.

Love can only be defined by the person that precepts it. People and Vampires a like think of love as different things and it is up to the person or Vampire themselves to define what love is for them. no one can define love for someone else cause they might believe it is a different thing.
