I would like to know your thoughts whether belief or factual on Life after Death? Because the mind and subconcious cannot exist without the body.
But, if there is no good and no evil, then the only true “evil” is to deny
your will and act against it. Many times in history, a man thought to be a
criminal has become a national hero and a man called a fool has later
been thought a genius. How we are judged by society at this point in
time may not be how we are judged in a decade or in a century. All you
can do is act upon your Will and let others be damned!
If a man thinks for a moment that he has achieved enlightenment and
understanding, the pool of thought he calls consciousness stagnates and,
as a cess-pool, breeds worms and stenches like a swamp. The science of
today is the superstition of tomorrow and the genius of today the knownothing
of tomorrow, for as the universe evolves towards ever greater
levels of consciousness the very concept of truth, enlightenment, or
wisdom changes with it. I AM not, but am becoming. The universe IS
not, but is becoming. And if I, who possess consciousness, am
becoming, then the consciousness which guides and/or controls the
universe, from which my consciousness has its source, must also be
becoming. The dialectic method of thesis/anti-thesis and synthesis is the
process by which the universal dynamic evolves. I am not my flesh or
my blood. I am not my brain or my body. In realizing that the "I AM" of
my being is pure consciousness, I realize that I am God; I am the
universe made manifest. And that which I choose to call Lucifer, the embodiment
of wisdom and enlightenment, is also changing, is also becoming. It is
within me, it flows through me, it is what the "I AM" of my being is. I
am Lucifer. I am Satan.

STABB
The body is only a bacteria it houses the skeleton that keeps us from squirming on the ground like blobs.
The mind is simply s series of constantly changing electrically charged fluids, like a tape of memorex coated on both sides but broken int sub sections and each holding a specific amount of information until it's full and the next section takes over, and is accessed by the memory when needed. The subconscious is somewhat of the same with the exception that it is digital, and holds information stored from before our physical conception.
We die a physical death and some times a mental one as well, but conscious and sub directories of the same remain intact for a time, until they themselves are erased when the battery leaks and the energy (spark) is released.
I think the medical veiw of death is very oriented within the physical body. The fact that we know next to nothing about the human brain is enough to atleast suggest the idea of "life after death." The fact that there is the "ghost" in the "machine" that we somehow are more than the sum of our parts shows that there is atleast something beyond "us."
Study some good quantum for a while and you will see what an impact we have on the universe around us(that or you'll have a psychotic breakdown..... or both [Laughs hysterically]) what that says to me, is this thing cald physicallity, and this thing called the body are just small specs in our true existance. Look at all the cases of past lives, where people could not have possibly known things about people, and yet they get things right beyond statistical expectation, people who can speak other languages without ever learning them, even a few cases where the (to be assumed) reincarnated persons have solved their own murders....
To say that we end here is a pretty huge jump with all the "abstract" evidence.
To say we automatically continue on past death is also a big jump... does that make any sense?
That was a very clever analysis of the human brain makeup. However, it still does not answer my question: Is there another life and/or dimension once this present life is complete? And if there isn't then my own analyses is correct. That there is no heaven or hell. There is no god or devil. There is no good or evil. Only positive and negative, aggreeable and disagreeable.
Heaven and hell....Show me where in the bible it says Heaven as a solitary abode and Hell as an abode as well....and not in English.
Heaven is what you make of it (Life)
Hell is what you make of it (Life)
Good vs Evil: I give you my Star Wars analogy in another thread, were the Sith good or Evil? Were the Jedi really representatives of good or part of a balance of a khaos flow.
Positive or negative: We are batteries being used in a giant globe as energy sources, but for what?
1000 years equal to 1 day, is that eternal or simply a time/space conundrum of inexplicable proportions time vs distance in the sense of passage of life, the wearing away of the physical, the soul, the eternal ether of man.....Life after Death.....I only can guess that we will know for sure once we're dead, physically. But for now, Walk in beauty in the earth, teaching not philosophy but rather simple truths of life.
See you on the other side.....but then again the Devil an I have a wager going so maybe I won't.
I believe there is an afterlife, and that those who have lived virtuous lives will go on to experience greater fulfillment, pleasure, and challenge. Those who have led lives characterized more by vice than by virtue will be separated from kin and doomed to an existence of dullness and gloom. I do not overly concern myself with the next life. I live here and now, in this life. If I do this and do it well, the next life will take care of itself.
This is good. People adding actual conversation to the thread.
If there is nothing at the end of the rainbow, what's the point?
Sure there is life after death. Even if it's not YOUR life.
ok, i see someone thinks that he understands duality!!! Sure thing satan if you say so...
Anyways, simply put... If you give belief to it, "it" is real!!!
God's(gods) exist only because we believe that they exist...If all of the Christians in the world woke up tomorrow morning and no longer believed in Jesus and crusifixion, Christianity would die, along with the god of the christians...It has no power or existance unless believed on...
We live in an ever changing pool if you will, one that all things can come out of...if you choose to believe in life after death than I am sure you will find some form of it that fits your liking...333
I have my own viewpoints about life after death. Until I die and come back to earth, I can offer no proof one way or another. I think this belief is unique to each person. Some say no, others say yes. When I die , I will find out if I am in the group that was wrong or the group that was right.
Personally, how can one explain about ghosts, poltergiests and spirits? if there was no such thing as life after death then these three things mentioned above would not exhist.
Ther is such a thing called past life regression, people have ungone hypnotherepy and have gone back to a previous life they once lived. The soul can return to fix the wrong right again. Each soul can have another chance at life.
In one religion, they belive you come back to the next stage in life and work your way up in each life if you are good. However, if you are bad, then you go back. But this seems rediculius as to if you came back as an animal. Do animals know what is right from wrong?
My point being is we do not know what will become of us in this lifetime. We can only hope that we will go into the afterlife and live with the gods.
I attend a Spiritualist church. they state that life after death is a scientific fact. I have had a mediumn that knew nothing about me, describe my Mother to a tee. I have had a mediumn decribe my Wicca teacher to a tee. The messages they gave were messages I understood. How could these people tell me these things if there were no afterlife? All the body is is a vessel for people to associate with to each other. I have read many books on the after life, where people actually knew the lives they lived before.
As said it is an oppinion that each of us have and I dont think there is a true anwser.....
in my opinion i have heard that life after dead is in fact very real but no one knows if its a fact or its fiction, we don't know this till we are gone ourselves. Some people it is true some believe it isn't truth, in my opinion what you believe in your heart is truely a fact.
for me i have my one thoughts on this matter however what i think is not the point we all beleve different so who is to sat what is fact and what is fiction as far as what happens to the 'soul' after we die one thing is certin when we die we become worme food nothing moore nothing less
Life after Death
We stroll through this Life anticipating the next moment the next time
The next reason to change our mind, the next season that will age our kind
What are the reasons we see...in the daylight, under a sanguine moon, contemplating what the time alloted may bring
Gods and Devils occupy our time while the beauty of Life passes by in moments of silence and shadows of gray and white
Religion teaches what it will, a sardonic twist to a little blue pill
Our friends retain their manner of being as from before, before the time alloted, before the creation of that eternal door
We pass on through, walkig, drifting, floating on time, considering the changes of a godless mime, in silence it speaks of that forgone and delusional to our eye
Dare we speak when the Rainbow awakes, our head in need of a spatial seed of hope
Dust at our feet as we sink slowly into the endless blue of space, only to come face to face, with the voice of our own selves, looking as black lips on the face of an albino woman stretching out her arms and asking why
So we bend on our knees and pray to her divinity only to awaken to our own selves looking into a dark mirror of our soul
Is this death or life beginning
I think I'll find Jim Morrison on the other side.
Merodak wrote this and passed it to me to post. He's 53 and did this back in High School:
His version of Life after Death
This is another question which i find it soo hard to explain..science says one thing and people and specialists say another. I think its one of those subjects that never has a right answer..i am not sure about the life after death..i want to believe it but there are soo many reasons not to. I mean is the body really just a holding cell until its our time to go or is it really our true form and nothing else?...But there is no proof of another life..and its hard to believe in sumthing that you cannot see. But if your a hopefully openminded person i think that life after death is more realistic
Excellent point of view lolita .
I for one do believe in it . heaven has to be better then here .
Evidence of survival is usually a very personal thing....I would like to ask what you would yourself accept as evidence ?
Science > no I certainly could not bring science into play.
Well Everyone is entitled to their own opinion am I Right? I Believe there is life after death whatever it may be
First off, I would like to thank ev1 who gave positive comments in this forum. I didn't think I was going to have a huge turnout. However, I never stated that I believed in the afterlife. I just wanted to know others thoughts on this matter. I would to thank the other poster who pointed out how much I understood duality.
If anyone believes that mind cannot exist without the body. Such as me. Tell me if this following statement makes any sense. From my own anylitical standpoint.
I remember reading that Descartes said, "I think therefore I am," but what is thought? Why
should man give more credit to the pound of organic matter he calls his
"brain" than he does to rock or dirt? Can matter or energy produce
consciousness? Can nerve cells within the brain "think" any more than
stones upon the ground? If this were true, then man would be nothing
more than a robot following out his "programming" as designed by
nature. That which decays and rots in the ground is not the source of
consciousness. Consciousness animates the material but it is not
governed by it. The source consciousness is all that exists. The one is all
that is real.
A man's life is a river but what is a river? Is it the water which flows over
rock and dirt, changing from moment to moment, or is it the riverbed
over which the water flow, which changes also but over a much longer
period of time. If the water is diverted, the river dries up and a new river
is formed. Can that which never existed die? Can it spend eternity in
bliss or in torment? Can it be reincarnated in another form? It cannot be
said to die if it never existed. Only the consciousness which enlivened it
exists. When consciousness is cut off by the end of flesh, it is diverted
elsewhere creating new life. There is only consciousness and it is without
end.

Personally i cant get my head to accept that when we die anything other then black nothing happens...
Life after Death gives people purpose... I mean why bother if this is all we have?
I personally believe in reincarnation. I think that there is a sort of limbo while we wait for our next life, but time there doesn't pass like time here. I don't even think we're aware of it. Like we die...then bam...we live. So...I don't guess I really believe in an afterlife...
All I know is that I believe your spirit remains after you die.
The question is a very deep one... all elements, including life, changes form... a tree that burns becomes ash... only nothing begets nothing... life must become something else... not nothingness... this does not necessarily require a god to validate the process...
Life after death..I believe.. I believe that each life we live...It to learn and evolve...to a higher level of consciousness.. I have met children that are far beyond their years emotional and spiritually... Old Souls that have returned to this plane ..are light years beyond people 3x their age.
I believe in reincarnation, so yes i do believe their is life after death...
I think, there is something. In my opinion, which God you worship, or what temple you worship under doesnt tell you wheere you end up. it just shows that you have faith in your soul, and that you have a purpose here.
There are actual accounts of people who's bodies have died, and their souls went on to another place.
A relative of mine was one of them. She had no religion, but she had faith.
life after death? is that a question or a statement? JW.. you seem like you know the answer that is true to you... so not to be mean but.. why ask??
If you truely want to know what everyone is thinking then.. I belive that we wont truely know until we die.. lol and then its to late to tell now isnt it? Like many have said before me.. live your life for the now and stop worring about death.. If youve lived your life to the fullest.. then who cares if your going to live again..
live life.. love life!
Well, some people think you come back, some think you go to heaven/hell. Theres really no telling, its all in what you beilieve in. Or.. *gets a knife* Whos first? XD
i beleave afteryou die your energy is released from your body. then the energy may pass to a heaven or hell, or maybe pass on to another living person.
Life after death is just the release of your spirtitual energy back to where it started. And it will eventually find its way back into some form of physical energy like a human life form or life form with some amount of intelegence. which must have missed me because my spelling is for crap today. Well either way thats my take
I believe in reincarnation so yes there is life after death.... but for those who don't think the same the after life is what you make of it...
I think the answer itself wont probably never be really a yes or no, all depends on what we consider life, alive, adn waht we consider death and waht we consider dead. The words are similar but can mean totally different things, making the answer to the question almsot impossible to really answer by yes or no, one will see it one way, as the other will see a totally different view.
I think it is a belief but because it is believed by so many that it may as well be factual.
I think that once we die we are forced to walk the earth for eternity, so I would call it a life after death, but I think we might have to relive or lives and watch every mistake we have ever made...I don't know that is just my opinnion.
the soul leaves your body shell and it goes to either heavin or hell after you or it has been judged my the father God Jesus is Gods son so who ever belives in the son goes to heavin and who doesnt belive in the son just stays and waits and roams till the soul is then judged by God!! but all who belive in Jesus will infact leave in the rapture to be with jesus and the heavenly father if ur not there you wil pay a heavy price but not right away you will get ur time to choose were you will go heaven or hell to be with satin. We still have choices in the end !! its ur choice were you want to go.
Has to be a fact otherwise how would people who have passed on be able to contact us??
You have to wait until you die before you can find out :)
if i die, there will be one thing i will like to take along.. maybe my mrs that i am married to by then if i do tho lol
i belive this would have to do with ones own personal belief system although people have been hypnotized and had visions of their other lifes past as well as future.
i believe that there really is a life after death cause alot of times when you first meet someone you get that feeling of dejavu and you think that you have met them before
i really do not know if there is life after death it all comes down to weather or not you believe in having a soul or not is the way i look at it. personally i believe that you just keep reliving the same life over and over
We know that the entire Universe consists of both matter and energy. We also know from Physics that all matter and all energy is eternal. While the form of each can and does continually change, yet neither can be either created or destroyed... forever.
This being the case for all that is perceivable in the entire Universe, why should Life be any different?
Our spirit will move on to the next journey, whatever that may be, when our bodies die.
But no one is going to be able to answer the question to this thread truthfully until it actually happens to them and by that time, it's too late.
I believe there is life after death . And Killer you make a very good point on this subject , I have to agree with you on it .
In my personal experiences with many other cultures and beliefs there is in fact life after death. My adopted Mom is a medicine woman for one of the Lakota tribes, they call upon the ancestors for guidance during ceremonies.
Some of my friends practice various types of Voodoo and Santeria they also call for help from spirits. So if there wasn't an afterlife how could they receive help form what they say are those who have past.
Why do you think the subconscious dies when the body dies? I personally believe that the subconscious is an integral part of your soul. The body is just a machine the soul uses to operate on this plane.
Besides there have been many documented cases of people experiencing images and seeing people they love when they have had an experience with death. So how can they remember these things and have these experiences if the conscious or subconscious dies?
I personally believe that the soul is our consciousness and that it lives on, going from one life time to another gaining knowledge and experiences.
I kinow there is something out there but io been dead twice once 6min the other 5 min and i seen nothing.....
I believe that the after-death-life is the creation of all those who fear death. also is the creation of priests who suggest people to live ectremely strict and conservative lives on the exchange that they will be awarded when they die.
Ofcourse I might be wrong, but I don't think that there is much of a life since our heart stops beating. That's why my philosophy is to live every moment as it is your last, as it is unique (it actually is). Have as much fun as you can in this life, because if you believe in life after death, perhaps you ll find yourself rather surprised...
Greetings!
We're all made of energy and you cannot destroy energy. We may not be who and what we are now when we die, but we will still exist in one form or another.
I believe in existence after death.
I don't know about life, though. Life is a difficult term to work with in such a way.
I don't know if it's just floating around in the spirit world.... heaven... hell...... the likes.
but I believe there's something there. I just really don't believe that after death we completely cease to exist..
or maybe that's just my innate fear of contingency talking....
the mind is a function of the body, but it does not physically exist. your personality, your memories, your self awareness, is all nothing more than information - data. the words in a book do not cease to exist because you close the cover and stop reading it. the programs in your computer do not cease to exist when you shut down your computer. the data still exists. the information in the book still exists, just waiting to come alive again when someone else picks it up and reads it. you are not the book, you are the story.
This is interesting as it brings me back to Cancers article on different Dimensions and How Things exist in them a Second dimension and third dimension the last being one of time and space bringing back the so called deja vu effect.. Do i think there is life after Death .. Yes i think so Everyone should Read His article its so good with info on this kind of stuff..
Life after Death is an answer to man's fear of a final end... whether we exist in a conscious form I dont know... far to busy making the most of THIS life to worry about the next.
One could say however, that everything is continuous... The planet can sustain a population of 'x' and the death of one balances out the birth of another...
Maybe a death takes place before another is born, maybe after... or possibly these events take place in the same moment
I think there is a such thing as life after death. I think that after we die, maybe that is the beginning of another life. Maybe something better than this one. Something different none the less. But nothing that I would be scared of.
It is logical to believe in life after death.
If after our short lives we cease to exist, then everything we do is for nothing, it has no point. the whole point of life is to survive - it is the driving force behind all life-forms. if survival is ultimately impossible, then the whole driving force behind all life is futile and pointless - so why bother? why dont we all just make it easy on ourselves, and top ourselves now?
on the other hand, if the drive to survive is so great that even after the body has expired, the consciousness or self identity is able to survive in another form - and maybe progress to a higher state, then this gives our life meaning, it makes the struggle worthwhile.
it is comforting to believe we will ultimately survive our own deaths.
therefore, it helps us to fulfill our purpose if we believe that the goal is attainable.
also - if there is an afterlife, and you never believed in it, you will feel a right pratt when you get there. on the other hand, if you believe in an afterlife, but there is none, and the moment you die you cease to exist, then you will not feel a right pratt, you will not feel in the slightest bit embarrassed at your stupidity, because you won't feel anything.
so you have nothing to gain by not believing in the afterlife, but potentially do have something to gain by believing in it. so you might as well believe - it's logical.
I beleive in life after death. Simply because i cant stand the thought of being nothing. Just a body in the ground, Just a memory to something, just a name in history. I beleive in A god, one that will explain all when i die >.<
matter can be neither created or destroyed so says science
so in a sense there has to be an "after life" ...
Continuality...
Flesh rots into the ground, feeds plants, plants feed animals and so on
I totally believe in life after death. Our bodies may be temperary but our spirits I don't believe are. Too many different religions talk about life after death whether it's heaven/hell or reincarnation. I believe our soula travel on. Where and how I guess I'll find out:) I rather worry about living today then my future death and thereafter.
I do not have a faith because I do not like the fact that faith is blind. You do not know what lies after death until you die.
There are many theories that make sense, but there are many of them, and there is only one outcome.
Less than 1% of all mankind will be right. What does that mean?
I think life after death is certainly a possibility, hell, a likely possibility. Based on intuition, I say there's life after death, but I cannot elaborate further.
This is not the subject but I am a christian and I am not scared to die. If it's my time to go then I go. If it makes it easier for others to think theya re going to heaven or will come back then that is fine by me:) Again life is for the living, why worry about what happens afterwards? Live to the fullest with no regrets so you die smiling.
But most people do fear death... and whoever controls what gets you into a good place.... or a bad place... has ultimate power over those who fear the end
How can anyone not fear death? What's after death is never certain. I don't have necrophobia, or any sort of intense fear of death, but the fear of the uncertainty of it is a soft undercurrent of fear.
Even some of the most secure people in their religion fear death, or so I've heard from them when I've talked to them about it.
Death is death... wont know till I get there, and I'm in no rush to get there
To me there is life after death....I mean if there wasn't life after death, then us being here would be useless....wouldn't it?
well some say there is some say there isn't....I am honestly not sure...and will not know for sure until I die....
i really believe that we all move on to a better place whether it is heaven or hell i dont know or maybe some other beautiful place where we can start another life. I think it is very true fact and maybe someday we will trufully know where for sure. I would like to think that their is a better place when we pass so we can all meet up with our long gone loved ones to see them again.
I believe this way. Your body is dirt and water (essentially), your spirit comes from God and is that spark of life that eludes science, your soul is a book that is blank when you start off life. This book is written upon every second of every day. When you die. The body goes back from where it came from (i.e. dirt and water), you spriit is removed and goes back to God. The only thing left is the book. This book is compared with His book and your judgement is given according to what you knew at the time of your death. If you had all truth then you will be judged according to that. If you knew nothing then according to that you will be judged or maybe returned for another go around. Kind of hazy on that last one. But this is what I think and you asked specifically for that.
to each there own opinion in this case
however reincarnation is my belief
I do believe that there is some sort of life after death i am not sure wot it is and where it is, wether it be hell or heaven or just another plain. I guess i will find out when my time is up.
i strongly believe that we are here learning. It means that every life is a learning experience... if there's something missing, you have to come back... i think that your spirit or soul remains...
of course there is life after death, energy much like matter can not be destroyed, only changed from one form to another
i really do not know if there is or isnt either way when i die i die
My belife is that When u die ur soul is brought to one of two places HELL IN A BOX OR HEAVEN IN A FOUNTAIN!AT LEAST THATS WHAT i HAVE BEEN TAUGHT but noone really knows! u just have ot believe and what ever u belive is true there is no wrong or right b/c there is no cold hard evidenc e it is all based on faith!
I believe that there is an existence after death, but not a life after death. A spiritual existence, but not in Heaven.
It is hard to define, to beleive in a soul and heaven and hell? or to believe in reincarnation...I dont know
I believe in life after death. Now the issue with heaven and hell is another topic that also causes contraversy.
There is only one way to tell and we can't come back to confirm nor deny it.
