How many here are ghost hunters and what are some of your techiques?
Also,where are some of your most favored hotspots?

i am not a ghost hunter but if i were i would use evp and tape recorders and cameras to catch anything i saw so i could prove everything.

I don't have to use all the technical things.. I can sense them, see them, and talk to them all on my own. I don't need fancy equipment.

I understand you not needing equip. but arent you interested in recording or documenting for the sake of others?

I would imagine the drawback of recording etc would be the endless task of having to prove what was recorded was not fake.

I am very interested in doing the ghost hunting practice. I would like to get my own group together in my area.

I would approach it like the TV ghost hunters do and try to disprove hauntings. . Believe it or not the TV show is for real, and their findings are documented through the whole ghost hunting field. They use all that fancy equipment which has proved to be very useful. In the way that they have documented proof of paranormal activity.

Medium's are very helpful in the hunt, but if they are your only tool you will not have proof which is a must.

I happen to agree with you on that.I think its essential.And the approach of disprooving is a good one.Good luck with oputting your group together.

Im not a ghost hunter but I have taken pictures of my aunts ranch. In it ive encountered dozens of orbs. You can usually see them as u flash them with the camera with the naked eye. Its quite shocking. You do have to becareful that its not just dust or water droplets in the are that can be confused with orbs on camera. Later I did research on the ranch and found that the whole area was one an indian burial ground... The house across the street had unearth some skeletons and the aparitions that appear in the area are not harmful or angered or are evil spirits...they give you an erie feeling though

oh yeah one more thing i wanted to post. i saw an episode on montel where silvia brown was there ..a lady said that her son was seeing ghosts in the graveyard. Silvia said that spirits do not hang around the graveyards at all but if you do see something or hear something its not because of the presence there but of the imprint the soul has on the body it left.. kinda like a negative to a photo

Dabbler,UFON and other ufo researchers have been around for quite a while,but you're right,they have kindof gone under the radar as of late.I think the newer aspect that you might be thinking of is called uwo researching...?

a spectrometer is a device used to view radiating energy in other spectrums UV Amino acids Not visable to naked equipment.

Some hunters use Giger counters as well.

I compiled a list of a few things a ghost hunter might use.

EMF detector - (Electro-Magnetic Field Detector) it is believed that when a ghost or the alike try to manifest they give off high electro magnetic readings.

Camera preferably digital- for obvious reasons

Thermometer- It is thought that the air gets gold when a presence is around.

Thermal Scanner- You can use this instead of a thermometer it uses "infrared technology to instantly detect temperature differences at a distance", you can also use this to detect disturbances in the infrared field.

Video Camera and a night vision video camera: for obvious reasons.

Digital Recorders: To record EVP's (electronic voice phenomena)

Motion Detectors: again for obvious reasons

I grew up in CT and as kids we would go into the "haunted houses" and there was one that was really spooky... to this day I get uncomfortable around things that cant be explained

I am not a ghost hunter but I have seen plenty in my time. I have done EVP's that turned out really good. And creepy. I have tried automatic writing. Some of what came out was readable. lol And I have used the Ouija board as well.

when a portal opens static sometimes fills the area around the occurence some feel this causes crop circles.Towers are placed around concintraredareas of activity what is in these towers is a sercret well guarded but they have used the info to build research that bebunked or classified cases.Along with follow-up interviews with screened sighters. there could be a narrow field for research in the next few years as the hoax crowd is challenged by the Para-science slueths. Evry time a debunker revels a invalid case they turn on the debunker and attempt to discredit the team...a common thing that creates caution in the field.

I agree..because there are so many hoaxers..but not only that,there are alot of things that ,if looked into enough,can be explained otherwise.And lastly,if one goes into it sortof skeptically and not wanting with all their heart for it to be real,well it enables the hunter to keep it in perspective.

with the instumints that are capable of detecting hoax and misperspective the field will narrow and the shams will be thined out of the equation.

Myself, Im not really a ghost hunter as I am someone who just draws them to me...I have been called a Medium, but I do not beleve this is the case...I just feel things and can notice things...

some things that you see on TV such as EMF, Temp Gauge, Analog Audio, And Heat Vision Camra can pick up things that are odd...They have worked for me for more then one time...So if you are ganna do something like that...ALWAYS go for a Medium, And a Demonolgist...They will notice things and also be able to Debunk things.

I use a scrying bowl or mirror and place it in a chalked circle with certain markings used to trap.
I then place a rock or some object in or on for it to transfer too and then use it.
I only seem to get shadow beings… not to pleasant

I don't hunt ghosts myself but I believe in them in a way. I think they are just mass amounts of energy most of the time, other times they are wondering spirits

I do abit of ghost hunting with my dad alot. We generally use a camera, recorder for e.v.p's, and a thing to measure any temperature drops.

Have you ever found anything?

We have had temperature drops, have got orbs and ectoplasm on camera, have had quite a few e.v.p's, at first you can't make them out when you first listen to them, but we put them on the computer and ampilify the recordings and things can be heard so much clearer. We have done lots in our house and got a spirit man called albert who was asking for help, it really freaked me out. Then we was at a old church and when we was asking if there was anything there we got like some sort of wierd chanting or like singing very faintly in the background.

Yea it is, sometimes it pretty freaks me out but my dad is really into that sort of thing. It intrests me but i kinda hate it when things actually start to happen or you get that really weird feeling like you're being watched

i am not per-say a ghost hunter but i have caught images on film before,i would have to say hotspot would be old nicknacks or a area where an item that holds alot of memmories are.

Yes i believe in that to, if a certain item was dear to someone or a certain place, you would most likely get something spirits return to there happy memories or worst if there a trapped spirit who needs help

I don't know about real life but I am a firm believer that the ones on T.V. are a crock-o-sheet.

I know what you mean, some are so cheesy and fake. They probably do fake things like noise etc.......just to get more people to watch the show.

I would agree that a lot of the propaganda hunters on tv and such are loaded with shit, but the "ghost hunters" TV show is actually for real, they don't mess around when it comes to that stuff.

There are alot of ghost hunting shows. I saw this ghost hunting show once, think it was set in new zealand but i cannot remember what it was called. That show seemed very genuine

i have to admit i do like how their outlook on their collective data is(ghost hunters the t.v. show) i like how they try to dismiss things and how they don't say yes this is haunted byt do say there is paranormal activity and such going on but for the other shows i feel it is just good for ratings and enjoyment with no backbone to back up their evidence.

Ghosting hunting, for me is pointless unless I have a purpose to hunt the fkers down. For any particular reason. I suppose my tools are my own wits, and skills when it comes to dealing with such forces.

It would be nice to get some hours in with others with the tech side, because i want to know the events that transpire outside of how i percieve the event, as well as the energetic occurances during such phenominon as there is very little documented on ghosts, and the workings of the art when dealing with those forces.

Usually one is done before the other, it would be interesting to get the data from the working as well. to see how much such things really do effect the living world and the spiritual world at the same time.

Sometimes a Poly graph should be used to flush out people that only seek attention,or to cover-up a dysfuntional family that has violence undermining them.Sometimes though this causes poltergeist ...and I feel the possibility of poltergeist is more practical then apparitions.

the mall that i work in is filled with them. Random displays of psychokenetic events, gets really annoying because its just all the collected angst from all the people that come through there.

Interesting to study because there isnt really a spirit there, just hundreds of peoples bad thoughs and negative current collecting in places with very little flow.

so the only way to banish it is to make and keep people laughing and wondering wtf is going on. Fking bastard poltergeists.

My best friend and I used to go "ghost hunting", but we didn't have any equipment or anything fancy. We've seen and heard a great number of things.

I'd love to be able to go on a hunt with equipment though, like TAPS does. =] it'd be a GREAT adventure.

I would love to be apart of a ghost hunting group. I remember that TV show that aired on MTV "Fear" where they had to spend a few days in an actual haunted place and do crazy things to win money. I understand that some of the stuff was rigged, but then again in the USS Wasp episode, all that was in fact real. I love to go to place and see for myself if it is haunted or not. I used to do stuff like that when I was in HS and me and friends would in fact go in serch of places in the local area where we had heard stories about hauntings. nothing significant happened for the most part, but still it was fun to do.

I'd be willing to give documentation of ghosts a chance. Would be an interesting thing.

I am a ghost hunter and I use the camera and recorder. I also use a compass for showing anything magnetic. I want an emf reader. They are hard to find in general places I go.

I would love to see someone get good hard evidence of these things..perhaps some day soon.kudos to those who do it!

My son's been speaking to them since he was 2 so we have some lovely photos. They pool around him in white mist- sometimes covering around his head and other times wrapping completely around him.

Now my girlfriend and I do go out to graveyards and any little place that gets out attention at times but we just have a digital camera, a hand recorder and a video camera.

I am not one as well, i watch the shows though, thought about getting into it but then decided it would not be as cool as it sounds.

i dont look for them as they come to me.i dont see alot of point in ghosts hunting.the skeptics have closed minds and they would never believ any proof you show them.did anybody see a documentary called ghosts on the underground?

I do not personally watch any of the shows mentioned,but I think it would be pretty kool if we could at least determine without a doubt, ghosts are a bonified phenomena.Once that is done..well the possibilities would be endless.Think of the questions that would answer..and new ones it would create!
